We did the tour with Erika and was an amazing experience. The car, the atmosphere, Erika and the places that we visited was 10/10 worth it!

We had so much fun on our Guatapé tour with Sara. She was so warm and friendly, and a great guide! Climbing the rock is definitely worth it — the views from the top are awesome. Sara also took us on a boat ride which was lovely! Cool to see the rock from a different angle. Would recommend!

This was a fantastic tour and totally worth it. I highly recommend booking and booking with Erika. Would book again and if had more time , would have booked additional tours with her. Erika was amazing and made the tour. She was very knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. I can’t recall ever laughing so much on a tour. She made sure we were able to see everything we were wanted and showed us areas off the beaten path. We had an amazing experience touring Guatapé with our entire family! We were a group of 9, and everything about the tour was wonderful from start to finish. We enjoyed a delicious traditional Colombian lunch, took a beautiful boat ride with incredible views, and explored the colorful town of Guatapé. Our tour guide, Diana, was absolutely amazing! She was fluent in both English and Spanish, incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone in our group felt comfortable and included. She provided so much interesting information about the history and culture of the area, which made the experience even more special. Erika was a fantastic guide. She was extremely engaging and very knowledgeable about the region’s history and politics. She accommodated the desires of the group and regularly provided options for each activity. She projects her voice well and our entire group was always able the hear her. This is the link we were given for review, for full transparency we did Piedra de Puñol with a fruit tasting beforehand; a boat tour; and then explored Guatapé walking around. firstly I will say: REQUEST ERICA! She is amazing and we loved learning from her during the entire tour. She is incredibly knowledgeable and gave great advice and tips as well. She also is kind and thoughtful - my friends have a kid and she was so helpful in entertaining him while my friends checked things out. Erica also had a lot of patience that bringing a 4 year old along with a tour does and that also is worth noting. I loved chatting with Erica in between learning from her, and hope to go on future tours with her. The flower finca and chocolate and coffee tours sound amazing and the next time I am in Medellín I plan to book those with her!

His English was excellent, and his passion for Colombian culture made the 1.5-hour drive from Medellín fly by. Professional, punctual, and a great driver—we couldn’t have asked for more!

We had an amazing day with Daniel and Medellin Day Trips! I highly recommend this company due to their punctuality, excellent communication and knowledgeable guides. We were picked up on time, went straight to climb the rock, followed by Guatape town tour, a boat ride and fruit tasting in El Pelol. Our guide was very informative about the history of Guatape and the area. He was very helpful on recommending good local stores for souvenirs and lunch. He took lots of photos for us and sent them right after our tour. The SUV we were in was very nice and clean. We did the private coffee farm tour with them the next day.

Highly recommend this tour! Daniel was our guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Guatape and El Penol. We loved the tour around Guatape and picked out several souvenirs from local stores. We then took a boat ride around the lake and saw the various highlights. Our last stop was at a market in El Penol where we tried various fruits from Colombia. Our guide was very punctual and Medellin Day Trips is an excellent communicator and followed up with us before and after both of the private tours we booked with them. Highly recommend this company.

What a great day, picked up at our hotel and taken out of the city to a beautiful landscape of farms and flowers. We had fruits I had never eaten and enjoyed, went to the El Penol and Guatape, took a boat ride in the dam, climbed 740 steps to the top of Guatape rock and explored the Pueblo. Our guide Laura was fantastic, knew all the history of where we visited and was very personable and caring. She made our experience unforgettable.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Daniel who was our guide in Medellín. He is incredibly knowledgeable, highly educated, and speaks excellent English. His car was very comfortable, and we felt safe and well taken care of the entire day. He took us on a full-day trip to Guatapé, where we enjoyed stunning views from La Piedra and a relaxing stroll through downtown Guatapé. We had a delicious lunch at one of the restaurants he recommended – all of his suggestions were authentic, fairly priced, and truly great local spots. He also arranged an excellent boat ride with a local guide on the Guatapé reservoir, which became one of the highlights of the day. To top it all off, we ended the trip at a very authentic fruit market where we tried a variety of exotic Colombian fruits – such a unique and memorable experience. Overall, it was a 10 out of 10 day. The experience was amazing, incredibly scenic, and absolutely worth every penny. We highly recommend this guide to anyone visiting Medellín – you will see the beauty of Guatapé in a safe, comfortable, and unforgettable way. And one more sign of how much we loved this tour: we enjoyed the experience so much that we booked him again for the very next day - for a family-run coffee farm experience - that we enjoyed just as much!

We had a fabulous time on our private tour of Guatape including a boat ride. We were traveling with 3 adults and 3 young children (7, 6, and 5). Erika was an amazing tour guide who really customized the tour to our needs making sure the kids could keep up while giving the adults the background and history we wanted to hear about. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and history of Colombia. Our family had the best time on this day trip with Erika!! It was such a fantastic day with our 3 kids, we were able to go at our own pace at all the stops. Erika was so knowledgeable of the area and patient with our kids, we really appreciated her car with boosters! Another highlight of the day was the fun boat ride and beautiful tour of the town. I feel this is a must do for the Medellin area. While the city is beautiful, this gives you an entirely different experience outside the city to see the natural beauty in Colombia. Great day trip from Medellin. We were picked up from our building promptly and learned so much from our driver, Andres. We tasted a bunch of exotic fruits at the market and climbed to the top of La Piedra. Did a private boat ride to learn about the former residences of Pablo Escobar. Had a traditional lunch in the town and then walked the streets and visited a few shops before heading back to Medellin.

Our tour to El Penol and Guatape including a boat tour was outstanding! One of the best days of our trip to Colombia. Erika was so knowledgeable, accommodating, and patient. I wish every tour guide we had was like her. Her vast knowledge about Colombia was truly amazing. She thought about everything we would need from water bottles, hand sanitizer to rain gear. I'm so so glad we picked this company for our tour.

This tour to the Guatapé Rock with Sarah was probably the best tour I have ever experienced. The tasting of the delicious exotic fruits was an added bonus to start the day with some healthy snacks. Climbing the stairs of El Peñól rewards you with a must-see view of the surrounding islands. Discovering the colorful streets of the Guatapé Town with its artistic Zócalos decorating the facades was a joyful experience, followed by a great boat ride between the lush and verdant islands. My guide Sarah was very knowledgeable, helpful, informative and above all, a kind and lovely person. It felt like a fun and interesting road trip with a good friend. Tan chévere. Thank you very much for this exceptional experience. My excursions with Andres and his team have provided me with so many unforgettable memories. Not only are they highly proficient in everything they do, they really put their minds, and even more importantly, their hearts into it, which makes all the difference. Everything about this tour was perfect. Erika was an amazing guide… she didn’t just take us around to do things but picked out foods for us to try, took great photos, and helped us purchase some beautiful art. She was also so friendly and knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. Everything was above and beyond in terms of service, I really can’t say enough about Erika and the team. We purchased a very expensive art piece that needed to be shipped to the US and the team followed up and made sure we got it when there were some hiccups. This trip to Guatape was amazing (along with the other two tours we took with Medellin Day Trips, each with a different guide). Our guide Erika was super knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much and visited Nuevo Penol, tasted a bunch of exotic fruits at a market there, climbed El Penol, then visited Guatape. Erika introduced us to Nacho, one of the most well-known zocalo makers there, showed us through the town, then suggested an excellent (and well-priced) lunch spot on the water with fantastic views and a delicious bandeja paisa. Our boatride was lovely and informative, the boat itself super nice too. I would do this again in a heartbeat! Do not hesitate. (We also did a city tour and a Santa Fe day tour with Medellin Day Trips, top notch).

Amazing experience starting from booking the tour with Andres (owner) and until Diana dropped us at the hotel after 10 hours of fantastic day tour. Diana is a world traveller with good English speaking skills and knows a lot about nature, places, people and cultures. We taught her Bollywood dances and learnt some salsa in return. Will plan for some hiking trips with Diana in near future and definitely recommend this company for Medellin tours.

We had a phenomenal guide (Yesid) who led our tour. We tried amazing, local fruits and got the history of the colorful town of Guatape. We had punch filled with the traditional foods of the locals and ended with an amazing Boat ride to see from a different perspective. We had too much fun, thanks for making it such a great experience!

Diana had a a tough task at hand on our day at Guatape. She had to take 9 middle-ages men up the rock at Guatape. Can I tell you, she did an amazing job! When she picked us up, you could tell she loved her country and what she did. She was explaining the scenery to us in great detail on our ride. Also, she shared her stories of hiking all over the world. Very inspirational considering all the steps ahead of us. Also, she saved us a ton of time standing in line. When we got to the rock, she took charge and adjusted our itinerary to reserve the rock for later and instead going to our boat tour. When we got back to the rock, she ensured all of us got to the top, having to descend and ascend the stairs numerous times. I don’t think the day would have been as enjoyable without Diana. She was a great host and made our excursion an amazing and memorable day.

My guide throughout the tour was Daniel. He was punctual from the time picking me up & made sure we did everything planned for the tour. Since it was just me, he made me feel very safe & comfortable the whole time. He was also very knowledgeable when it came to touring the town by foot & by boat. My rock climbing instructor David made sure I was safe & prepared when climbing El Penon. His knowledge of rock climbing was an asset any student would want from their instructor.
