Don’t go. Terrible times for Colombia
This museum wound up begin a lot more interesting than expected! I haven't watched the Narcos series, so didn't know much about the Medellin cartel. There are several items on display like cars, planes, safes. Some of the props used in the safe houses are also recreated here. I didn't want to glorify the violence, and I think this is an interesting museum that visually explains in some ways how the cartel became so powerful. Our English speaking guide was pretty good, and you can go through the whole place in about an hour.
Great tour with Alejandro really great info
Excellent tour, our guide Alejandro was very informative
Relly good! Very informative
Good i went with my family and it was good
It went amazing! You get good information about the history of Pablo Escobar!
We had an excellent experience, the guide was helpful and over the top informative. The experience itself is something you must witness when staying near this area. Very much worth the money.
Very interesting- we toke the bus tour Worth the money - the guide explained in English ahead of time her time. The visit was 3h long. The staff are very welcoming. The crowns size was just perfect.
The tour was great. A big shout out to Isabella :) The tour was very informative and interesting getting to know all the historical facts of Pablo Escobar.
Very interesting. Lots of false facts the government states. That the tour clears up. Thank you Hector tour guide. Very informative
We went for the private tour around the museum led by Sulma- she was super fun, interesting, attentive and knowledgeable about the life of Pablo Escobar. Would definitely recommend to first time visitors to Medellin! 10/10
Booking is strange - online they explain about the 2 different tours available- then you get bumped to WhatsApp and then tell you to buy tickets on the day at the museum. We went for the 9am tour and were told the comprehensive tour was not available so went on the basic museum tour. At £23 it is not cheap for an hours tour. There are a couple of displays along the way- for example where you are asked to ‘donate’ to see PE in his bunker (otherwise you will not see this exhibit) - a strange thing to do on such an expensive tour. I’m glad I went on the tour as it gives an interesting snapshot of a moment in time.
Great tour, very informative. Our English speaking tour guide was very helpful and was always asking if we had any questions.
The guide was very knowledgeable and his English was not bad at all. He even offered to be my photographer for the time I was there. A pleasant experience.
To clear up some misinformation, the museum is a replica of a Pablo Escobar safe house supported by his Nephew Nicolas Escobar to tell the other side of Escobar's story. The Colombian government took all of Escobar's actual safe houses after his death in 1993. The other side, is that he did much for Colombian poor people in building housing and supporting other public causes. The most interesting thing to me were the shot up bullet proof Mercedes Benz cars. All in all, you make up your own mind if the good outweighed the evil. To me, a criminal is a criminal no matter what else. But the museum is of interest.
The museum is one of Pablo Escobar’s safe houses in a very nice mainly residential neighborhood. It is still owned by the Escobar family and they walk the delicate line between extolling the life of a very rich and dangerous man and warning against the same. What brings this experience to life is not just the entrance via a dummy bookcase but the many stories of how Escobar began his rise to infamy and how he bought the politicians and celebrities . This seems to hold more of a fascination for males than females - based on who I saw on my visit. It is a relatively expensive experience but may be worth it for some.
Great insight about Pablo Escobar. Pretty cool stuff in the museum as well. Our tour guide was awesome and really knew the history of Escobar's life,
Very nice and educational liked the experience. Would recommend to attend to see and hear about Pablo.
Great tour with variety of the museum, honouring the victims and seeing his grave. Gives a good perspective of everything that went on
Valeria and the staff was wonderful especially her translating everything in English to help. I highly recommend if you’re in Medellin to expedite this tour.
Valeria was amazing ! She was very helpful and very energetic and knew a lot of information. Very nice and would definitely recommend her to anyone !
Excellent experience. Very interesting information and great authentic artifacts. David the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this museum to anyone interested in Pablo and his life
I regret spending money on this “museum.” It felt more like a tourist trap than a historical site. The space is very small, with only a handful of photos and props—something you can walk through in under 30 minutes. The guide was fine, but then asked for an extra tip on top of an already inflated entry fee. We’ve done free walking tours in Medellín that were two to three times longer and provided far more value. What made it worse was the contradictory pricing: foreigners were given a “discount,” but then told to donate that exact amount inside one of the exhibits. On top of that, the guide claimed the museum is “not doing it for the money.” If that’s true, why is the entry price so high, and why are guides not even paid properly without leaning on visitors for tips? Finally, we were asked to write a review in exchange for a free poster, which in my opinion explains why the average rating here is much higher than the experience deserves. Overall, the visit felt exploitative, misleading, and in poor taste. Save your time and money.
Very informative glad we got to experience can’t wait to come back and see the new attractions that they add to the venue. Very nice
Well thought out. Recommend doing the full 3.5 hour tour. Get to hear about his family and how he lived. All interesting stuff.
Very informative and interesting. If you are in Medellin it is a must visit take a copy of your passport for a small discount.

The museum is amazing ! The guide is expectacular and explained everything! Highly recommended. The museum is small but its FULL of his memories!
From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect—easy to access, with breathtaking views
At times unbelievable insights into the life of the most powerful narco and richest man in America. Problem is he becomes mystified - and the many victims and all the suffering sidelined, ignored by the ingenuity of Pablo. Exactly what he wanted. Important therefore to see the memorial for 46.000 of the wars and how much daily terror the narcos inflicted on Medellin in the 1980ies.
