Medellín Essential: History & Local Life On E-bike

The hidden gems of Medellín was well worth it, Michael our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable and the tour felt authentic. Traveling from tourist spots to local neighborhoods with many pit stops to hear about local culture and history the tour felt very authentic and couldn’t recommend more if you are looking for a tour a little off the beaten track. 10/10

We went into this tour with just one request: surprise us! We told Andrés that we were looking for those special “wow” moments rather than following a standard sightseeing route. He understood exactly what we meant and completely exceeded our expectations. What made the experience so special was how personal and spontaneous it felt. Andrés has a great way of showing you Medellín through the eyes of someone who genuinely loves his city. He took us to unexpected places, shared interesting stories along the way, and made the whole afternoon feel more like exploring the city with a local friend than being on an organized tour. The e-bikes were a fantastic way to get around and allowed us to see much more of Medellín than we could have on foot. Andrés was also excellent at navigating the traffic and looking after us, so we felt safe and confident throughout the entire ride. His enthusiasm, humor and positive energy really made the day. We laughed a lot, discovered a completely different side of Medellín and definitely got the “wow” moments we had hoped for. If you enjoy experiences that feel personal, authentic and a little different from the typical tourist activities, put Turibike on your list. A fantastic way to experience Medellín!

We had a fabulous tour with Michael at Turibike! What a great way to see Medellín. Michael was super knowledgeable and entertaining. We opted for a 3 hour tour and ended up spending more like 4 hours with Michael. The pace and stops were perfect for us. We appreciated learning more about the history of the city and seeing the various neighborhoods from poorer to richer on the tour. We really enjoyed what felt like little extras (stopping in the farmers' market for sugar cane juice, stopping for a fruit cocktail break). Highly recommend doing this during your trip to Medellín!

I really enjoy this tour! Micheal (Mich) was super dope! He was funny, & nice and also a very cautious and safe Tour Guide. He made sure we were safe on the roads, crossing streets, & in our bike lanes! Learning history about the city, catching the views & sampling the local favorites was literally amazing! Alex and Mich did an amazing job on the tour and kept us very safe riding the e-bikes all around the city. This is the best way to see the city without all the traffic… plus you get some great exercise!

I really enjoyed the experience, we had a good time! You can see the city in a different way, the guide gave us good information, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do that your, but finally I was glad I did! I recomend!

I did a 4-hour bike tour through Medellín as a solo traveler, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. I was the only person booked for that time slot, and Mich still showed up and fully accommodated me, which I really appreciated. Cost was a little less than $40 usd. He tailored the entire tour to my interests and went way beyond just showing sights. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and politics, and the way he explained everything made it genuinely interesting and easy to follow. We made a few great stops along the way had some of the best sugarcane juice I’ve ever tried, a really good Colombian beer, and some traditional snacks that were all on point. What stood out most was how the tour gave me a real look into everyday life across different parts of Medellín, not just the typical tourist spots. Mich is a great guide, who’s professional, personable, and clearly passionate about what he does. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting. I’ll 100% be back again with friends next time. Thanks again, Mich. Great experience all around.

The tour was amazing, Andres and Bibi were beyond pleasant, knowledgeable and nice to my family and the entire group. The cost for the tour was absolutely worth it and I would do it all over again. The time spent in the tour was just enough to see most of the important points of the city and did not feel too long. The place to meet is clean and the whole process was very organized and we felt safe the entire time. The entire experience was great and I would recommend it to everyone and you will love Andres and Bibi. Food spots were amazing too!

It was an amazing trip. Andres and BB were great host. They showed us around the city and we were super safe. They stop traffics and lets us ride in exclusive lanes. We had local food and learned history as we rode. 10 out of 10 and I am def doing this again next time I visit.

Today we made a cycle trip with e-bike through Medellin. Our guide Andrés (speaks very good ingles) and created a different experience at the local city. We enjoyed every minute of it. A great recommendation of the way they organized this tour.

I had the most amazing time with my group, led by Aliche and David. They were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Our group had 4 flat tires during the trip, but Aliche and David fixed them with ease and were incredibly patient with all levels of bikers. Thank you! Highly recommended!

A wonderful experience riding around the city getting to know the geography, the different neighborhoods and the future concepts for this beautiful city. Andres will take care of you providing safety and local stops for coffee, drinks and food. It’s a must do first thing when visiting the city.

My 3 + hour outing with the exceptional Turibike guide, David was a highlight of my stay in Medellin! Before we even started he asked what were my interests & expectations and he took the time to make sure I felt comfortable & safe on the e-bike. I loved the small light weight bike with comfortable seat & easy step through mount. It was equiped with a convenient bag to hold my water bottle and cell phone. David tailor-made our adventure to suit me as I happened to be the only one on the tour that afternoon. I wanted to visit local neighborhoods and better understand daily life for people living in Medellin today as well as learning more about the city's history and culture along the way. David definitely delivered and patiently answered all my questions! The city's bike path system is amazing as is the attention given to green spaces. This tour was a fabulous way to experience authentic daily life in Medellin. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Jon-Freddy was a super tour leader. He had an exceptional knowledge of the areas we visited and shared it in a friendly manner. He lead the group well across the various communities with multiple stops for scrumptious local food, some even healthy. It was interesting to go off the beaten track and experience local culture and life, away from tourist areas. Almost the entire route was on dedicated bike paths, with minimal gradients.

Great tour on e-bike which means you dint have to be an experienced cyclist or particularly fit to enjoy the experience. Really felt I understood how Medellín has developed in recent years. A completely different view at street level, you feel part of the city. Our guide David was excellent , so knowledgable and knew the local coffee and refreshment stops

You will see Medellin in a different fashion with the bike tour - many different neighborhoods to see. David is in love with his city and it’s contagious ! We did a bike tour with Turibike and had such a great experience. David was an amazing guide. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole ride fun and easy. The city tour with Andres and Carlos was incredible. We were able to experience many neighborhoods in Medellin and experience all walks of life as well as nature within the city. Andre’s’ energy was infectious and kept the tour conversational so it felt more like an experience. He was a great guide/friend. Carlos was our “knight on an e-bike” and kept us safe while biking throughout the city and had a great sense of humor. Overall I’d recommend this experience to anyone visiting Medellin. You won’t regret it.

Carlos and Andres provided an incredible experience, that really felt like we were in the real Medellin. We saw many highlights, we met the local communities, and it felt like we were welcomed with open arms. They took great care to make us feel incredibly safe the whole time. They made it interactive, and didn’t just talk at us. They really seem passionate about their jobs, and it shows! La Buena Pa Todos!!

I wanted to get a real world taste of the sites and scenery in/and around downtown Medellin. The tour offered by ToriBike checked all of my boxes. I was able to walk to their location and got an experienced that educated me and make me feel connected to the community and history of the expanded downtown region of Medellin. Dayana was the consummate tour guide. She took great photos and videos and kept me safe in the sometime chaotic streets/traffic (our tour started @ 3pm - probably a bad time for traffic, LOL). I did this tour on my last day in Medellin, and it really rounded out my trip nicely. Ask for Dayana - she's the best. :)

This e-bike tour of Medellin was a lovely experience. We did the tour on a Sunday, so traffic was light and the ride was enjoyable. Our main guide, Dyana, was excellent. She was knowledgeable, passionate, engaging, and shared so much about the history of Medellín and its important sites. We stopped at several historical sites and were given meaningful insights into their significance to the people of the city. We also stopped to enjoy a refreshing drink made from sugarcane and lemon, which was a lovely touch. Overall, it was a wonderful day. The guides were very kind and attentive, something I particularly appreciated. The experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

It was an amazing experience. Wow. It’s crazy fun. You get to see three different comunas and explore the crazy downtown area. Local tastes (local coffee, guarape). A must do. David is the best.

Im not sure what I expected but what I got was amazing! Riding a bike through medellin at night seemed a little dangerous but Jader, Alexis, and the whole crew guided the whole tour amazingly! From personal touches to amazing Christmas lights this was a experience I wont forget!

This was the best tour we took in Colombia. It wound up being a private tour with only three of us. Juan was an excellent guide. He had a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge. His English was excellent. We got to see almost all the main site in Medellin. We spent most of the tour in bike lanes so it was very safe. I would highly recommend this tour.

One of the best things I’ve done in Medellin. The team are friendly, efficient and inspire confidence. The tour guide Dayana was amazing, reassuring everyone and making sure we were all safe. The stop in the barrio creativo was great and new for all of us and some of us will go back. The stop in the city center was also informative as was parque del Rio. It’s a wonderful way to get to experience Medellin and Dayana’s stories and insight were super informative.
