Tours in Colombia continue to impress, especially in the value for money and experiences offered. The company Aeroturex was very communicative, with detailed meeting instructions provided via WhatsApp and reminders/check-ins beforehand. On arrival, the first host didn’t speak much English but another one arrived that did. They directed me to the ride, which I was a bit unsure of because the driver didn’t speak English. (I’m aware that I should know Spanish better to travel in a Spanish-speaking country, but mine is basic entry level.) the ride was a chivas-style bus which I was thrilled to have the opportunity to ride. It was an energetic, musical way to start the morning and enjoy the 30-minute ride. When the driver parked and rattled off some explanations in Spanish, I was lucky to have a bilingual girl on the trip who was nice enough to help translate. Shortly after, they brought down some mules for us to ride up. Luckily all of us had ridden before, so didn’t need instruction, but if it’s your first time and you don’t speak Spanish, maybe study basic horse riding techniques (uphill, downhill, etc). The guides provided ponchos and hats, took photos for us, and walked with us and the mules on some steep concrete paths to the coffee farm. Views are great but some of the steep downhills are nerve-wracking. After a 15 minute ride, you dismount and they offer panela juice and outfit you with rubber boots. You wait for all groups to arrive (30ish minutes for us), and then they split you into English group and Spanish group. On the English tour, Daniela was our hostess and she was amazing. Impeccable English, great energy and knowledge, and just an overall fun time with a sweet person. No pressure for tips, but I tipped her directly because of how excellent she was. We first went down to the coffee trees with her explanations and had a casual competition to see who could pick the most red coffee berries in 20 minutes. It was steep and a little slippery, so you have to be careful. It was really cool to be in the trees, and get a small taste of what life as a coffee farmer and picker is. We brought our beans back up and she crowned the winners who got a prize. Then, she taught us the steps of getting our beans to the cup. We got to use traditional methods to separate bean from skin, then used a machine, then she showed us different varieties of dried beans and we got to use a grinder also. Then she showed us all the different preparations from machines from around the world and we chose 4 for her to make. It was so interesting to have such different tasting coffees from the same ground beans. The whole experience made me really appreciate the effort and time that goes into every cup of coffee. They gave us a delicious lunch of rice, sausage, beef, potato and egg (and a great hot sauce available) with an incredible view of the peaceful green hillside. There was a small shop to purchase coffee and souvenirs, and they gave us a gift of a small coffee cup when we left. We walked down the hills we came up and got the bus back to the starting point in Poblado Square. We met at 8 AM, left at 830, and were back by around 2 pm. It was a truly excellent experience, and I highly recommend it.

Great experience, Mateo was awesome. The horse ride was fun. Learned a lot about coffee...cannot miss it..
We loved this tour! Everything was well organized and it felt extremely interactive the entire way. The food and drinks supplied were tasty and the animas and gift was a treat! Mules were provided at the beginning, but we did have to walk down a steep hill at the end. The views and family experience were 10/10.
This was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences I had in Colombia!🇨🇴☕️❤️ From the moment we arrived, the views were absolutely breathtaking and Mateo and his family welcomed us with so much warmth and kindness. It was such a beautiful experience to visit a family-owned coffee farm and have the opportunity to learn about the entire coffee-making process—from the farm to the cup. As a true coffee lover, I learned SO much, and I can honestly say I tasted some of the best coffee I have ever had! ☕️🤎 The passion and love this family puts into their coffee and their business is truly special. The lunch was delicious, and enjoying it surrounded by those incredible mountain views made it even more memorable. We also had so much fun horseback riding through the beautiful scenery—an experience I will never forget! 🐎🌿 Mateo and his family were absolutely amazing—so welcoming, genuine, and fun. You can really feel the love they have for what they do and for sharing their culture and beautiful farm with visitors. And the souvenirs were STUNNING! 😍 I especially loved the chocolate with the coffee bean inside—it was AMAZING!🍫☕️ If you love coffee, nature, beautiful views, amazing food, and authentic experiences, you absolutely have to visit! I would recommend this experience 100% to everyone. This wasn't just a tour—it was a beautiful memory and truly one of the highlights of my trip to Colombia. ❤️🇨🇴☕️
Amazing tour, definitely a must do if you have enough time in Medellín! Great organization and you just have to bring yourself.
El Z (our driver), Sebastian (our Aeroturex guide), and Matteo (our guide at the coffee farm) gave us an outstanding experience. Even though we were part of a large group, they split us into smaller groups, making the tour feel much more personal and immersive. It was an authentic experience at a real coffee finca. All three were extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate. As an Italian couple, we usually avoid large groups and touristy tours, but we genuinely loved this experience. Highly recommended!
This was a very fun experience. We rode on mules, picked coffee, learned about coffee cultivation , drank coffee (really good coffee) and ate. The only thing is that they also sell coffee which we bought (we tried it at home), but was definitely a much lower quality than the ones we got to taste there.
This tour was absolutely my favorite. It was so educational as well and hands on. The entire family on the property were super sweet. Learned so much and left there with such a better respect for coffee. You will not be disappointed. The lunch part does offer a vegetarian dish which was a huge plus for my wife. Wear comfy clothes!
Great tour very informative and interactive.prompt pick up and return. guide Angel was fun and music on the bus was good. Daniela was very fun and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning about the coffee beans and the roasting process. We tried coffee and then enjoyed a nice lunch. The donkey ride up to the farm was unique.
Great tour, very informative and participatory. Angel was fun and good music on the bus going and coming.
Amazing tour of a fourth generation coffee farm! So knowledgeable and so fun! Definitely worth the money. Great coffee and food provided. Angel our tour guide was so enthusiastic! They had both an English and Spanish tour. Highly recommend!
This tour was so much fun. Very hands on and educational. Anna and Gabriel were great. The entire family at the coffee house were awesome. Lunch was delicious (especially the maduros). Left there with a new outlook for coffee. Can’t recommend it enough.
Ana and Gabriel both where fantastic. Great tour
Every is great. Very accomodating. 10/10
Gabriel the best. Tour cafe Mute bueno
Excellent tour driver Gabriel set the mood with good music and smooth ride.
Me gustaría más tiempo con los caballos
It was a super great experience our tour guy Gabriel was super awesome and nice with great energy we all had a great time.
5 out of 5 ⭐️ Gabriel was fun and incredibly entertaining. During the coffee farm tour, we learned how to pick coffee beans and went through the entire process—from soil to cup. The experience was very interactive and engaging. The farm is family-owned, which gave it such a warm, welcoming feel. The ambiance was amazing, with animals and kids running around—it made everything feel so lively and authentic ❤️😊 5 de 5 estrellas!
Medellin is amazing, the tour incredible, learned so much about coffee. Gabriel is beyond friendly and his energy was super contagious. It is a must when you travel to the area.
The tour was great and Gabriel was awesome! Horseback ride up to the top with an amazing view. Lunch included!
Gabriel was amazing did a great job and was very friendly
Amazing tour! Everything was so well organized and truly enjoyable. Huge thanks to Daniel and Zeta for their energy, knowledge, and kindness — you made the experience unforgettable!
Fun experience caution to people afraid if high you will be active and scaling mounting during this excursions! Tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny we learned a lot and enjoyed the experience overall
Thank you to Giovanni and Zuleta for getting us to the finka safely and being our guides. Cristian and Sofia put on an excellent coffee tour at Finka de Arrinconada. I learned a lot about coffee. It was overall a wonderful experience!
Incredible experience! We had a great time with the coffee tour. Everything was very well organized and not only did we learn a lot, but we had a great time! Our guided Zuleta & Giovanni were incredible and made sure we made it there and back safely. We went to Finca La Arrinconada for the coffee tour and Christian, Sofia and all of the staff there were amazing as well. 10/10 would recommend
Suleta was a great guide , Christian one of the owners of the coffee plantation was great , he was detail oriented and the tastings were amazing . Definitely recommend.
Amazing experience. 10/10 highly recommended. A must do in Medellin!
The tour was amazing!! The tour guide was funny and fantastic! The driver Alejandro was good as well. Definitely appreciate every single coffee seed much more now. Welcoming and informative.
Great tour if you like Coffee and the Coffee farms. The tour leaves in time from El Poblado Municipal Park and they take you to a coffee farm about 1 hr from Medellin
Angel was a great tour guide. This was a very informative tour. I learned a lot about coffee and its process ! I really enjoyed the Japanese pressed coffee!
had a great time!!! I love the way they picked us up in mules and the whole coffee process was absolutely educational and it was a new experience for my self !! The crew was very helpful like the conductor Zeta. I will definitely recommend this tour to my whole family and friends!!! Thank you for such a cool experience 🤠😎
This tour is great to connect with nature and learn about the entire coffee making process. Noemi was a very attentive and kind tour guide. The host at the coffee farm were excellent as well.
Loved this comprehensive coffee tour which included picking our own coffee cherries off the trees, learning about how the beans are peeled, dried and roasted, and making coffee a few different ways and tasting the flavors. The farm is run by a family that was very sweet and answered all our questions about coffee. The tour was followed by a lovely lunch with a view of the valley. The horseback ride was fun and other animals (chickens, dogs and a cat) were delightful as well.
This tour started off with a chiva to the bottom of a mountain (pickup location) to meet a horse/donkey for a ride up a steep mountain road and brought us to the family property and coffee farm. Our English speaking guide explained everything from how to plant coffee, how to harvest it and the process of bean-to-cup. Samples of candy, coffee and delicious lunches were provided. Even if you don’t love coffee (like me), I highly recommend a coffee tour for all the information and memories.
Unlike my other trips this was totally family operated and you could feel the passion and love in the experience. The mule ride was wonderful. Just ten minutes but added to the fun. Christian the son of the owner was our tour guide and was extremely enthusiastic and funny. Taking time to give us as much information as he could. We were dressed in ponchos and hats and walked and picked coffee beans and learnt the whole process of cofffee making. The whole operation is run by the family and neighbors and our lunch came in a banana tree leaf and we sat and overlooked the mountains. The transportation to and from the city was quick and comfortable. Highly recommend
Amazing experience! I’ve done a coffee tour in Bali & my friend had in Hawaii & Vietnam and this was the best one yet! Vanessa is great tour guide for the bus - speaks great English and super friendly and fun. Christian is an experienced coffee tour guide and did a great job! Kevin great bus driver.
Vanessa was very fun, and gave us very good information. Christian was amazing, he gave us such great information about coffee. The food was incredible!
This was the best tour we did during our two-week stay in Colombia! From the horseback ride up a mountainside to reach the coffee plantation to picking coffee beans ourselves and tasting coffees prepared by a variety of methods that I had never even heard of, everything about it was excellent and surpassed expectations. The traditional lunch provided was absolutely delicious and the coffee education provided by the plantation owner was interesting and informative - even for someone who already knew quite a bit about coffee production. Would highly recommend!
I thought I knew a lot about coffee but Christian our guide proved me wrong! I learned so much to improve my coffee drinking experience! He was delightful and insightful. We got to dress as a true coffee farmer and pick ripe beans. I wish them many more years of successful tours as this experience was well worth it! Had a lot of fun.
Honestly a once in a life time experience. To be in the heart of the Andes, on an authentic family-run farm with the most stunning views was just incredible. The guide, Christian, was so knowledgeable, kind and funny and our driver, Jesus, and mule guide were also wonderful. We got to harvest coffee, and take part in some of the processing steps as well as try so many types whilst Christian talked us through the many ways of preparing coffee. We also got given two lovely gifts and the photo opportunities were out of this world.
Great experience start to finish. Very comfortable setting and to gain knowledge from the family who has owned and run the plantation for generations is exceptionally unique. It was both interactive and informative with demonstrations. Even if you “know” coffee you will learn a lot here. Ready to go back for more of this amazingly delicious coffee. Everyone was so pleasant. Thank you!
Great experience! Tour led by family who owns the farm— very informative and enjoyed riding the mules to the farm, picking our own coffee berries and having traditional lunch surrounded by the beautiful mountains.
We went on this tour at the last minute it felt like but it was worth it every penny. Christian was a super friendly tour guide that allowed us to explore his family farm of multiple generations while learning much about coffee. Can’t recommend it enough. Me and my three friends had a lot of fun and hope others take the tour and experience what we did!
Fully recommended! Organized, interesting, hands on and the view magnificent. Christian and his family were knowledgeable and extremely welcoming. The passion for the coffee is evident! And I loved the horse ride up to the farm! Do not miss this experience if coming to Medellin! Muchas Gracias! 🙏
We where picked up on time and driven to the mountains. On horseback a trip to the coffee plantation. We had a guided tour, coffee been picking and coffe tasting. After that: Lunch with a view and breathing clean air all the way through. Very nice experience altogether.
Michael and Christian (and his dad) were THE BEST tour guides and host. I will MOST definitely recommend this tour when in Medellin Colombia. They are super nice and shared so much information. This was one of my favourite tours from start to finish. Michael explained a lot on the ride and in between. Christian was absolutely amazing and so sweet. He really did such an amazing job with this tour and made it super fun. We all enjoyed and left super happy. You get so much with this tour so it’s worth it. Michael should always be the tour guide and Christian should continue to do these tours because it was awesome. I hope others can take part in this experience too. Thank you to you both for such a great time!
I love this tour. You have a great view and they are very kind people. Micheal and Jesus are very attentive. The owner of the plantation explain the whole process with many examples. Like really working out in the field. A totally great experience. I recommend you to take this tour to experience it for yourself. No money is worth this place.
Michael and Jesus were very informative and helpful in the travel and translation of certain safety and necessary information, they also participated in the experience. Christian is the owner of the coffee farm, which is a generational ownership. He is so knowledgeable, comedic and really makes the learning experience interactive but also educational. You can tell that he loves what he does, and has a deep passion towards all that he does. This is a must do experience, and you won’t regret it! The views are immaculate and every part of the experience was enjoyable.
Great coffee tour and definitely worth the trip. Great family brings you into their farm and home to let you live the experience of how coffee is made; from picking the beans all the way to tasting the coffee. Definitely recommend and leave good tips for the family.
