Medellin : Downtown Tour With Matt Electric Tricycle

We were a group of 4 friends, one of whom is 74 years old with dysplasia of her left arm and uses a wheelchair because of diabetic neuropathy. We were not sure if she could do this activity, but within minutes she was effortlessly navigating the streets of the city. Mariana was an excellent guide with excellent english who was able to give us the history and gossip of the various sites. This tour allowed us e to experience the raw, el centro of Medellin with all its beauty, quirks and rough edges as we weaved in and out by the multitude of vendors, shops, dance clubs, restaurants, cafes, sculptures, street ladies, and people going about their day. In spite of the crowds, the whole thing felt much safer than when I have been in El Centro by foot as people showed respect for those with disabilities. It was also noted that MATT vehicles themselves made us the focus of attention with many taking videos of us out of curiousity and interest. Mariana's experience, guidance and constant attention also ensured the safety of all. Overall, this excursion was perhaps the best of the many highlights of our two weeks in Colombia.

Great experience, tons of fun, mobility devices are fast and capable, if your a wheelchair user or have a disability, theirs no better way to explore downtown area.

What an interesting way to see the city! So, I actually took a fall while visiting Medellin and I had to use a cane for a month, my ankle was swollen and all kinds of messed up, but I didn't want to miss on exploring the city. I had initially booked and airbnb bike tour but had to cancel, and found this instead. Lovely! I was the only person so it felt like a private tour. The guide was so chill and friendly and explained things so well, even offered to take pictures for me, and I felt safe at all times. The device was easy to maneuver, and while the first few minutes in traffic I was really afraid - you know how crazy and busy the traffic is there - I quickly started to enjoy it and wanted even to speed up more! Loved it! We met up by chance with a couple people who actually use such a device daily because of various disabilities, and knew the guide. Very nice! I really appreciated this tour and enjoyed it more than I was hoping. Thank you!!!
