We had a wonderful experience on our tour with Daniel. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and created a wonderful itinerary. Highly recommend!

We have traveled to so many countries and our family of 5 (3 grown kids) all agree that this is one of our favorite tours ever!!! Our guide David was just incredible. He was so enthusiastic all day long. Our tour was 12 hours from pick up to drop off and it just flew by. We had so many amazing stops. David is a fantastic storyteller and we loved learning all about Colombia and Pablo Escobar! The tour was just our family of 5 in a mini van, so we were able to alter as necessary. We cut out the cemetery as it saved us 2 hours that we could spend at some of the other stops that we cared about more. David was a fantastic driver. For our boat tour, we were in a private boat with just our group. This was fantastic as we saw boats filled with 50-100 people go by. Our boat driver would stop at strategic points and explain what we were looking at. Another thing about David is that he was a fantastic DJ as we drove from location to location. He had a great playlist and we enjoyed singing along to the songs. At one point he let me son DJ and he had fun picking the songs. It certainly made the driving part more fun. Bring along a raincoat and/or light jacket as the weather changes so frequently! The hike to the top of El Peñol is well worth it. The views from the top are fantastic!
David did a great job as tour gide! He showed us everything we wanted to see. And could tell us a lot about the history. A very friendly and enjoyable guy! The tour was really great we learned a lot! Also the boat trip and guatape where really worth it! We would recommend this tour if you want a full day of enjoyment and learning! It is a complete tour you don't want to miss!!!
Visitng Medellin and surroundings has been a great highlight of our trip in Colombia. We had this full day visiting Pablo Escobar museum and Guatape. The trip overall was very well organized and the schedule has the perfect activities to enjoy the full day, interesting history facts to learn, and the great stone to climb up, super interesting.
We did the most complete version of the tour called VIP+ on the Medellin City Services website. Tour guide David was excellent. We saw so many sites and he gave great insight into the history. Also went to Guatapé and climbed the rock, and finished with a private boat ride on one of the lakes, stopping to see Escobar’s La Manuela. Highly recommended!
First of all there’s no way we would have enjoyed this tour as much as we did without our tour guide Juan D. He spoke great English and was so professional and very knowledgeable of the sites. He always made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. He never rushed us. This tour covered a lot. I’m definitely glad we did it to get to know the country better.
The entire experience was great but the best part was our guide Juan Duke’He was very informative polite, and made sure that we enjoyed our selves. Second I would have to say Guatpe’! The view was amazing and the journey to the top is well worth it! There was food and drinks it was great!
Wow! That is all I have to say about this tour. It is a must when you come to Medellin. Christian was a great host and very knowledgeable about everything on the tour. I have been fascinated about Columbia and Pablo Escobar since the mid 80’s. It was so cool to see things that I have seen on tv many times. Guatapé is absolutely breathtaking as is La Peidra - definitely do the 6 minute helicopter ride. I would rate this tour 6 stars if I could.
We had a group of 7 in a private tour with Silvio and “the white beast” (his van). Our experience could not have been any better! I would highly recommend Silvio and this experience to anyone and everyone!! He was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He also helped us with recommendations for the remainder of our stay. His English was perfect and he had a great sense of humor. On top of it all, a member of our group was celebrating their birthday and Silvio went above and beyond and even set up a little surprise with a cake and balloons for her at a local shop! I don’t think I can say enough kind words for how awesome our experience with Silvio was! Thank you for making our trip so memorable!!
What a way to start off a trip! Our guide, Silvio, made the entire trip worth it. He was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and everything you would want from a tour guide. He went ABOVE and BEYOND what we expected. The Pablo Escobar Tour was very cool, especially if you've watched the Netflix show Narcos. La Catedral provides a great overview of Medellin. Climbing Piedra del Penol provided another beautiful view of Colombia. Silvio provided such a great experience and stayed in contact throughout our entire trip (even outside Medellin) to ensure everything went well. He recommended other tours and linked us to other individuals to get to and from places. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour or a tour with this provider. Get Silvio if you can. Guatape is a beautiful city as well, I wish we could have spent a bit more time in the city to explore.
This was a great start to all of our first time in Colombia. Our guide Silvio was our highlight of the trip and made sure we had THE BEST DAY EVER. His enthusiasm and knowledge made the day even better than we could have imagined. The Pablo Escobar sights were very interesting and Guatape was simply incredible. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellin.
This tour really covered all of the bases. We spent the first half the day in the city learning about Pablo Escobar. Then the second half of the day and into the evening was in the surrounding villages, which were scenic, colorful and beautiful! Our guide, Mateo, was friendly, engaging, and completely accommodating of our family‘s wishes. He also followed all covid protocols. It is a long day due to the sheer volume of activities that it covers, but well worth it.
I did a private Pablo Escobar and Guatape tour with Camilo, the owner. It was definitely worth it! All Everything was taken care of including transportation. Camilo was very knowledgeable about the history of Escobar and and the cities of Penol and Guatape. His English is great. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to gain a better understanding of part of Medellin's past. Quinton
We did the private Pablo tour and Guatape with Julio. It was very interesting yet relax. Julio was super Nice and had a lot of knowledge about everything. He was also a lot of fun to hang out with. We had an awesome day. Big thanks Julio. 🙏🏼 Kim and Manu
Excellent trip very informative, good value for money. Julio our tour guide was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and a good and balanced view of events - highly recommend
We had a fantastic day out - our guide Julio gave us such a good insight into the city’s and country’s history and complicated situation. He really brought the history to life, all with deep knowledge and an excellent sense of humour. The trip to Guatapé was amazing, including the boat trip around the lake. We loved it so much that we booked another tour with Julio for the following day. Thank you Medellín City Services and Julio for a couple of fantastic experiences!
Our guide Juan made this truly one amazing experience that we will never forget. He truly showed us what an amazing city Medellin truly is. A true gentleman!!
Great Tour, included a lot of information and had great Scenic views of nature and the land of Colombia. Having Carlos the Cop driving you around is a must!
This was the best tour of history of pablo escobar not at all condoning what he did but more of a historical tour as well as going to see the rock and guatape. But the best part of this tour was the guide Julio he was the most amazing guide and would be a great friend if I lived in meddlin he went above and beyond and was a pleasure to meet him and do the tour with him honestly was a great person. Further to this he knew all the great food places in Medellin which was an even bigger bonus. Thanks again Julio you rock!!!
Had a day to spend in Medellin. Silvio our guide was amazing, very passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. We were a group of 20 people. He managed to keep us all engaged with funny and off the beaten path tid bids about Pablo and gang. It was certainly worth the money if you are into Narcos. Go Silvio.
This is an absolute must do! Pablo took us on the Escobar tour, then to Guatape and showed us breathtaking views of Columbia. Pablo was extremely knowledgeable and at the same time very entertaining. This was easily the highlight of our trip. Pablo did an A+ job as he was very patient when we wanted to be at a location and his priority was truly ensuring we had a good time. At no point in the tour did Pablo make us feel like tourists, but like good friends having an amazing time in Columbia. 6 Stars!
Man, just had the most incredible day with my wife driving all around medellin, and to guatape. Our guide carlos was incredible. He was 15 minutes early, took care of all of our needs and questions, and spoke very good English! If you have a day to commit, you HAVE to go do this tour!
A great insight into the times of Escobars “reign”. Carlos was a cop during those times so he is very knowledgeable about the stories and the areas. He doesn’t glorify Escobar at all, it’s more of an education. Great tour!
Enjoyed a private tour with our guide, Daniel, who was very friendly and had much to tell about his wonderful country. Knowledgeable about Pablo, Flowers, Coffee, and the history of Colombia. Would definitely recommend.
The prívate tour with Julio was the best. We received a lot of special and personal insights and met real people and locations around the life of Pablo Escobar in an incredible 12h tour.
We had a great time with our awesome tour guide Julian. We met bodyguard of Pablo Escobar. All of the people were really friendly to us. Thank you very much guys!
This was quite amazing to see what was created after only seeing it on TV. The water park is excellent for children and adults alike and warrants a good three hour break after the road tour and your return home
What can I say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Silvio was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide. He made us aware of not only what happened during the Pablo Escobar era, but how the city has transformed since then. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and with ease. His English was impeccable! He went above and beyond for us, and for that we are truly grateful. Such a incredible tour to see where Pablo lived, grew up and where he was laid to rest with his family. I highly recommend this tour and Silvio!
We had an amazing experience with Silvio. One of the nicest people we met so far and truly knowledgeable about everything. Whatever the question he had an answer!
Camilo was an excellent guide he informed us of everything that was asked on top of all the other interesting info he discussed. He also went out of his way to drive everyone home which was very kind of him
My boyfriend and I did the half-day Pablo Escobar and Comuna 13 tour with our guide Wilson. The pick-up location was really central and it turned out to just be the two of us with Wilson which was fantastic. He took us to Pablo’s home, his ‘jail’, the site of his shooting death and his gravesite. The Comuna 13 part of the tour was also great. It was awesome to see how much the area has transformed. Wilson’s first-hand knowledge and perfect English made for interesting and insightful explanations. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and provided us with so much information. He regularly spoke with the locals, showing respect but also giving us another perspective on events. We would definitely recommend this tour, and Wilson as a guide!
We booked the half day group tour Pablo Escobar on the website of Medellín City Services, which appeared to have a good value for money ratio (as opposed to similar private tours that easily cost 200 USD+), and included Communa 13. Plus, the weather was to be rainy and it was our last day in Medellín. It was not quite clear on the website whether we‘d be picked up at the hotel or not, and at what time (9am or 10am) the tour would start. We could clarify via the hotel concierge that we’d be picked up at the hotel at 9am). Long story short: our tour ended up to be a private tour with Julio, an excellent guide! As both my wife and I speak Spanish, we opted for the tour in Spanish, but Julio also speaks excellent English. Although we had booked a half day group tour, we ended up with a full day private tour; activities with our 2-year old daughter don’t always turn out as “efficient” as planned, bit Julio adapted perfectly, we could take our time, and spent about an hour to relax in a very cool little coffee shop in Communa 13 which Julio knew the owner of, so it was quite a family experience. Before the communa we visited the major locations of Pablo Escobars life in Medellín, including La Cathedral (Pablo’s “prison”) and Julio explained everything very well, including interesting and funny side stories that add the little extra to such a tour. We have taken a lot of tours, private and group, around the world, and this one was everything and more one could ask for! Thanks a lot Julio! Que te vayas bien y que nos vemos muy pronto!
We did a half day private tour with Juan. Booked it last minute the night before which wasn’t a problem at all. Juan was really friendly, knowledgeable and honest about the history of Escobar and the sights that we saw - including the Monoco building, the Catedral, Escobar’s grave and Comuna 13 (he also kindly added Escaleras Eléctricas de la Comuna 13 and told us their history - and bought us a Mango Icicle). Brilliant comfy car with air con. Would definitely recommend. Brilliant value for money 😀
We decided to book the Pablo Escobar Tour with Medellín city services which was tailor-made for us as we were slightly pressed for time in Medellín. Kevin, our tour guide with great English, drove us to important places related to Escobar's life and provided us with so much information on Escobar I had a feeling he was a walking encyclopedia :-D We had a stop at Pablo's house, saw his grave in the cemetery, went to look at the house on the roof of which he died and ended the tour in the barrio he built for poor people of the town to earn their votes. We really enjoyed the morning packed with so many things and interesting places and do definitely recommend this excellent agency.
This tour advertises a full day Pablo Escobar tour for $125 dollars but they charged my credit card $335 dollars and I'm having to fight with them over it. Their marketing is very deceitful and dishonest. I read the information on the website and proceeded to check out my tour. I am alone and I checked the one person box. The price changed from $125 to $335 at the checkout. I thought it was strange but I thought they converted the price to Colombian pesos because I know that the exchange rate is approximately 1 to 3 give or take some. I travel quite a bit and its common to see prices in both USD and local currency. So that's what I thought happened when I bought this tour. I was picked up at my hostel by my driver and when I asked him where we were going to meet the rest of the group he responded to me that this was a private tour. NO WHERE does it state that this is a private tour. The only thing that the advertising states under "What to expect" is "Begin with pick up from your private bilingual driver will before embarking on an all-inclusive journey by car with AC." Also under the "Overview" section it states the maximum participants is 15. So I was under the impression that this was a tour with a group. About half way in the tour my guide asked me what I paid for this tour. I told him $125 dollars then I pulled up my confirmation email and it stated $335 USD! But in the checkout it does not specify USD. I was pissed! I thought $125 was a lot to be paying for a tour in Colombia but $335 is beyond ridiculous. That basically ruined my tour knowing that I just spent that much money. When I got back to my hostel I contacted the tour company and started asking why I had been charged so much. They told me that this was a private tour with a minimum of two people. But NO WHERE does it state that it is a private tour with a minimum of two people. I had to ask them several times how they came up with $335 instead of $250. Because if the total had been $250 I would have noticed that it was double the $125 and figured out there was a two person minimum. But since it was $335 I thought the money was Colombian pesos. He finally told me that the extra $75 was another fee that they tack on even though no where is that stated. They will not refund my money so I am taking this dispute with my credit card company and the Colombian tourism authorities. So I do not trust this company and I would not recommend any one to do a tour with them. I think this is a shame because my tour guide Silvio did do an excellent job. He spoke very good English and was very professional and had a great personality. His car was clean and he did a good job of giving a tour. Its just that his company has fraudulent marketing practices.
My husband and I planned a trip to Medellin and decided to do a Pablo Escobar tour to learn about the history of this beautiful city and the impact he had. Little did we know we were in for a treat and the most amazing experience! We met up with Steven Friday the 5th at 9am in the morning and from the moment we got in the car, we felt very taken care of. Steven told us about himself, his background, how he ended up doing these tours and how much he loved it and enjoyed it. We could tell! Steven is SO extremely passionate about what he does and you can tell he truly enjoys meeting people, making friends, and telling them about his beautiful city that he’s so extremely proud of. Steven started telling us the story about Pablo. Every single detail. He drove us to several different places and explained each location throughly. Something that was very impressive was the amount of people he knew EVERYWHERE. Each location he took us to, he’d introduce us to someone who lived there, worked there or was a friend of his. This meant a lot to us because it showed that he had genuinely invested a lot of his time building relationships in those places that we wanted to know so much about and that he knew the real stories and facts! Steven was professional, very fun and very friendly. My Husband and I live in Kansas City (USA) My family is from Cali, Colombia but my husband does not speak English. Steven did the whole tour in English so we could both understand, of course. His English was clear and easy to understand. We felt this was important because we wanted to make sure we weren’t missing anything. We felt that Steven made such an effort to make sure we GOT IT! He told us so many stories about Pablo, the Paisas and explained the good, the bad and the ugly. We left full of knowledge and with more understanding which was the whole purpose of this tour. When Steven took us to the final location, on our drive back he asked if we were going to go to La Comuna 13. I had done research and wanted to go, but I was told by a family member that it was dangerous and that we shoudn’t go there. As soon as I told him that he replied “No, that’s not true!” It felt as if he didn’t want us to leave without knowing the truth! So he took us. This whole tour only got better, and better and better. Once we got to the Comuna 13, we went up the stairs and he began explaining the different paintings and graffiti on the walls. The story of the neighborhood, what is been through and how much it has changed. What it is today and what everything represents. We were SO BLOWN AWAY! How did we almost miss this?! If it wasn’t for Steven, we would have missed out on such a beautiful and amazing experience. It is such a safe place, every single person we encountered was so friendly, and there were so many people there from so many parts of the WORLD! Our visit to La Comuna 13 was something we will never forget. And something even more amazing that happened is that Steven is friends with Chota! One of the most popular artist in the neighborhood who has painted most of the walls there. You see his name/signature on a lot of the paintings. Well, come to find out Chota was there hanging out and because Steven had such a connection with him, we got to meet him, hug him and talk with him for a little while. Not only that! But Steven & Chota totally gave us VIP treatment. Chota asked us if we wanted to see the view from his apartment. He took us up to his apartment where he paints! I mean, I can go on and on about how amazing this experience was, but we are truly and deeply grateful to Steven who made it all happen. We’re on our way back to Cali right now and we still can’t stop talking about the amazing tour day we had yesterday! STEVEN IS THE BOMB.COM! BOOK ALL YOUR TOURS THROUGH HIM! Steven is the real deal! He knows his stuff, he’s so much fun, he will MAKE SURE you have an awesome experience and tell you everything you need to know. He’s professional, he’s super nice and he’ll answer all your questions. He’s so proud of his city! He’s passionate! He loves people and has a heart to teach and tell others about Medellin and everything this beautiful city has to offer. Book him! You won’t regret it. PS. I highly recommend the Pablo Escobar tour with him as well as the Comuna 13 tour! :)
Our tour was with Carlos Garcia, who was so nice and had so many great stories to share! He was a police officer during the time of Pablo Escobar so you could hear his first hand accounts. He was also a great photographer for us! Loved all the places we went and everyone he introduced us to. On top of that, he gave us great recommendations for places to go in Medellin and made us feel so safe and taken care of! He let us know that one place he suggested isn’t very touristy, but that we could call him if we ran into any trouble because he lives nearby. This was a great day and we got to see a lot - Pablo’s house, where he was shot, where he is buried. Also climbed the rock at El Penol and walked around beautiful Guatape. The drive there has some amazing views and Carlos plays some awesome Colombian music and puts on videos for you!
Julio was a great guide. Very knowledgeable. He never seemed rushed. His English was very good and he was friendly. I would not hesitate to use him again. Highly recommend that you request him when booking. I know we will next time we are in Medellín!
What a truly incredible tour this was... My guide Carlos Palau was awesome! Not only did he take care of my every need during this day tour, including picking me up from the airport at 6.40am as that was the time my flight arrived from Bogota, even though the tour was not scheduled to start until 8am, but he is also fantastic company, a genuinely lovely bloke with a mind full of information about Pablo and Medallin during those days as he worked as a police officer back then. He showed me photographs taken during the capture and shooting of Escobar as well as photos of him and his family taken during the same period. I twisted my ankle quite badly whilst climbing El Penol first thing in the morning and Carlos could not have been more helpful and attentive and made sure I still managed to complete everything on the itinerary and more... A fantastic day, fabulous tour with an awesome guide! High recommend for anyone interested in stories of P.E and those famous drug running days! 5 star x

This tour is HIGHLY recommended! My day was just AMAZING! My tour guy Silvio was AWESOME! It is an ALL day event... It felt as if my tour guy was family...such a presence, knowledge, sense of humor, humble, so comfortable being around him. My friend and I instantly felt we were in good hands. He spoke about his family personal background, as well as the history of Pablo Escobar during that era... his narration was just AWESOME. Our day began going to El Barrio de Pablo Escobar, visiting where he spent his last moment alive, his grave, a boat to view the location of his abandoned mansion now ruins, while ending our Pablo Tour and day going to El Penol and having a delicious coffee in Guatape. I cant express how much I enjoyed this day and learning about Colombia.

The ONLY down side to this Tours' description which I have notified Viator is:
it states you are able to have access walking into El Monaco to view Pablo's walk-in safe.
Walk around his semi-destroyed Monaco building where the first car-bomb in Colombia took place in the late 80s. Unfortunately, the government has taken over the property and NO access inside is available.
And it also states, take a private boat to Pablos abandoned mansion, where you can walk around and take photos of what is left after years of curious visitors tearing down walls and cabinets.-also NOT available to go inside, as this is government property now and NO entry inside allowed. You do take the boat ride by the mansion and are able to take photos from the boat.

The only reason I gave this tour a fully 5 star was because I had such a good time/ great day and so excited to learn about this era and Colombia and the knowledge of my tour guy Silvio and his form of narration, as well as providing his personal life testimonials...
However, I did notify Viator...so anyone who is into this Full Day Pablo Escobar Tour does NOT expect to go inside El Monaco Building, as well as go inside La Manuela Mansion Ruins, as NO ACCESS is allowed INSIDE.

We did the tour with Carlos and we went to 5 locations regarding Pablo. Barrio (neighborhood he built), the house where he died, his grave, house in which his family lived and has been a bomb and the cathedral (his own prison). Carlos spoke good English and knew a lot about the locations, but also about Medellin. We thought it was a nice and good tour, and are glad we had done it. In addition, we ourselves were late with reservations (forwarded late the night before), but they were not difficult about that and solved immediately, so very friendly!
Was a very nice tour with a great guide (Sebastian). Everything perfectly organized and extremely friendly. Can only be recommended if you are looking for a private, informative tour. Thank you very much
My girlfriend and I went on a private Pablo Escobar tour with guide Carlos as part of our 1-year world tour. Pros: - great guide Carlos with super exciting stories - safe car To improve: - Price is already a bit high
The private tour we did with Manuel Garcés, one of the guides, who showed us much of the city, transporting us through his stories to the heart of a whole adventure. Very enjoyable experience and recommended for anyone who wants to know the story first hand.
Our guide Andres was great! He knows the whole story very well and has also seen many popular films and documentaries about this topic. All important points are visited and everything is well explained.
