Fantastic day with Camilo. Picked me up and went to all the pre arranged sites and finished in guatape. He is very knowledgeable and pleasant to be with for the day. Had such good fun

Guide texted 15 minutes prior to pick up to confirm we were ready. We were. 5 minutes prior to pickup we were told they needed to postpone by an hour and a half. Then they said they couldn’t make it. No stars.
It was an amazing day for sure. Carillo kept us very comfortable in the car and spoke perfect English. He gave us tours as we drove and was very easy to get along with. We got to the guatape rock early and practically no lines. That was incredible in itself. Then on to the city of Guatape for delicious lunch with a restaurant he was familiar with. It was all excellent including the fish. We are Picky about fish being from Alaska but this trout was delicious. The private boat ride was the perfect end to the day. Cooled us off and very informative
It was a great day. Had Joshua as the guide, couldnt have asked for a better person to show us around. No rush, no fuss. Just smiles and a great time. Highlight was taking a boat tour around the lake. Thank you Camillo for adding Maria on to the trip last minute.
What a fantastic day trip to Guatapé! Joshua was a fantastic guide — calm, professional, and quick on his feet when a cycling race closed off our route, turning a detour into part of the adventure. Beautiful scenery, a great coffee tour, and an experience I won’t forget!
This is a must do Joshua the tour guide is awesome, was very friendly and informative took good care of me and brought me back to the hotel safe no complaints at all,it was an exceptional experience 🇨🇴thank you🤝
Camilo was amazing. I started off my day with the airline losing my luggage but Camilo made me forget about that. He is patient, does all the small details, and really looks out for his group. I would 100% recommend.
Such an amazing experience. It was a workout to get to the top, but worth every step. The view is amazing and my guide was great
My first time in Colombia and I am having the great time. My guide speaks wonderful English and was easy to ask any questions that I had. He also helped with photos and other recommendations. Thanks!
We did this tour with this company and our tour guide was Joshua. It was a completely private tour and he was on time to pick us up at our hotel. Lots of communication prior to our tour, during our tour, and Joshua was an absolutely knowledgeable guide. Our whole day was full of interesting information about medellin, Harare, Colombia, all of it. We are foreigners, so we knew that we wanted a tour but we didn’t know which one. I would pick this tour company and guide for any and all future tour of ours. If you’re looking for a very professional, knowledgeable, and private/special tour, look no further than this one. Thanks again Joshua and Caman Tours
Had a great time With our tour guide Joshua showing us around and helping us find the best activities
We had a great experience with Joshua as our private guide! He was knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to / spend the day with. He was on time to pick us up at our hotel, flexible with our plans, and very patient. Highly recommend this tour and highly recommend working with Joshua as your guide!
I had a great tour with Joshua. Joshua picked me up promptly from my hotel in Laureles. He was very friendly and easy to talk to… and as a Spanish student, he was nice enough to keep the whole tour in Spanish, even though I could tell his English is good. I saw El Peñol, and climbed all 714 steps. Well worth the climb as the view is spectacular. Then we went to Guatape township and took a walk through and around. Finally we finished up with a lunch in the township where I tried the local trout and it was great. We got back almost exactly after 8 hours. I would recommend this trip and the tour company.
We had an amazing experience with Joshua as our private guide! He was knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to / spend the day with. He was flexible with our plans and we got to experience even more than we anticipated. Highly recommend this tour and highly recommend working with Joshua as your guide!
Had a very lovely private trip with Camilo as our guide in April 2026. He was very knowledgeable and flexible, so we were able to see Guatape before it got very busy and do other things later. Thanks to Camilo, we had a superb time.
We had an incredible tour of Comuna 13 in Medellín. It was such a meaningful experience to learn about the history of the neighborhood, its transformation over the years, and the resilience of the community. Our guide, Joshua, was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing powerful stories that gave us a deeper understanding of Comuna 13’s past and its vibrant culture today. The street art, music, and energy of the area made the tour both educational and inspiring. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellín!
Deciding to venture out on my own while the rest of my travel group rested from the night before, I journeyed with Camantours guide Camilo to Alto Del Chocho, New Peñol, El Peñol, and Guatapé. Well acquainted with Medellín, Camilo provided fascinating insights about Medellín specifically and Colombia generally. An affable gentleman with a generous spirit, he made the entire experience like I was traveling safely with a good friend. Our wide-ranging conversations between the full-day tour stops were as entertaining and enlightening as the actual stops. From delicious pan de bono y café in Alto Del Chocho and beautiful vistas atop el Peñol to vibrant zocalos and magnificent church architecture in Guatapé, the experience was a memorable one! Thank you! I will tell friends and family to book with Camatours for all of their travel needs in Medellín. Rrrrrrapido!
I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Joshua. He was friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. He provided a great introduction to Guatape. I would not hesitate to recommend!
Hiring a private guide was a great decision. Our guide Camilo was so knowledgeable and engaged. It felt like family. He was patient, flexible and a great driver!! Such a fun day in Columbia experiencing Gutapa and surrounding area. Definitely recommend
Truly enjoyed our day with Camilo. He was so knowledgeable and patient. His flexibility was greatly appreciated. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. A great way to start our trip to Columbia. Highly recommend.
Our tour to La Piedra del Peñol and Guatapé was excellent. Our tour guide, Sebastian, was amazing—he was punctual when picking us up and took the time to explain all the beautiful sights along the way. Climbing La Piedra is a must. It’s 720 steps! Exhausting towards the end, but the view from the top is absolutely worth it. This tour company truly takes the time to make sure you learn about and appreciate the beauty and history of Medellín. We highly recommend them!
Our family of four took the Guatape tour on 12/30/25 climbing El Peñol and visiting the town of Guatape. We had a great time, primarily due to our amazing guide Camilo. Camilo is very knowledgeable, has a wonderful personality and was a joy to be with for the day. I highly recommend Camilo for any of the tours you may be interested in. Thanks Camilo!
This is a must do tour. A do not miss experience! Guatape, the rock, the village and the surrounding area are beautiful. We also had a really nice horseback ride around the rock! Our guide, Joshua is a great guy, informative, smiling, friendly, smart, sharp and responsive to all our needs.

The tour guide was excellent. I am partially disabled because of neuropathy. The guide accommodated my limited walking abilities by allowing me to set the pace so that I could appreciate the beauty of the experience
As a solo male Traveler, this full day tour was absolutely perfection. My guide, Joshua, and I truly want to give him a huge shout out. He made the entire experience unforgettable. He was professional, humble, punctual, and communicated clearly from start to finish. During the drive, he shared so much history about the Guatape and the area we passed through it literally added meaning to the journey. The drive itself is about 90 minutes and it goes by quickly, especially with the beautiful scenery along the way. Once we arrive there, the side of the enormous rock left my jaw on the floor. Seeing it in person was truly breathtaking. Joshua took me to the main entrance, and the climb up was manageable for me as someone who is fairly active for those not used to exercise be prepared for a solid 30 to 50 minute climb the view at the top makes every step worth it. It was a clear beautiful day and they do sell water at the top. The decent is a bit narrow and there can be a line so patient helps. Comfortable shoes are a must along with sunscreen. I brought a jacket, but never needed it for the rock. I also decided to do the helicopter ride, which was completely out of this world highly recommend it, and if you can go, go for the copilot seat. The town is absolutely stunning full of history, colors and charm. It’s not a huge place but every corner feels magical. I definitely recommend grabbing a coffee there. It was delicious. For the boat ride, which lasted about 45 minutes I invited Joshua to join since I was traveling alone. The views were gorgeous, and he continued sharing more history and pointing out landmarks around the lake, which I deeply appreciated. My biggest tip is to go early the rock and get crowded later in the day, especially with the tour buses, arriving early helps you beat the rush and enjoy much more peaceful experience. Overall I would absolutely book with this company again and repeat the entire experience. This was one of the top highlights for my trip. Thanks again for such an amazing day.
Had a wonderful time with SEBASTIAN. He was very friendly and was very knowledgeable. Highly would recommend and definitely will book again. Thank You SEBASTIAN
Interesting experience with great views. Steps take 15 to 20 minutes to climb. Manny was our tour guide and driver who was very helpful and informative. Wear sneakers! Boat rides, helicopter tour, and lots of walking as well. The ride to the mountain was beautiful.
Such an amazing tour with William! So much stuff we got to do in one day! We were picked up right on time and drove to el penol rock. The climb was exhausting but still fun, we tried to beat the average time up and down and succeeded. After the rock we went to guatape and tried some exotic fruit and then got to explore the cute little town. Willam was so good about explaining everything and taking all the pictures we wanted. After guatape we went to lunch and it was delicious. Next, we got to go to a strange animal farm? Restaurant? Shop? It had all kinds of animals and fun stuff going on. Such an excellent tour, I definitely recommend to everyone!
Guatape is such a beautiful city! Juan was the best tour guide. He was prompt, patient and so knowledgeable of the city. He gave great recommendations and pushed us to have the best experience. 10/10z
Joshua was our driver and tour guide. We got to our destination pretty quick and safely. Joshua took great photos and videos of my family. This is my second review with Joshua. He was our driver and tour guide during our Medellin City Tour. So obviously he became an unofficial family member during our trip. He is very friendly, knowledgeable of his subjects and easily relatable. Important for long trips. All around great guy. Will use this company and his services again.
We celebrated our birthday and did a two day private tour with this company. Joshua was our guide and driver for both days and did an amazing job touring us around such as to Guatapé, Comuna 13, a boat tour and more. He is very knowledgeable about the area and provided great recommendations. I would choose this company again next time I visit Medellín. Thank you!
Our Full Day Guatapé Tour with Joshua was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia! The day started with a visit to the famous Guatapé rock (El Peñol). Climbing to the top was an unforgettable experience, with stunning panoramic views that were worth every step. Beneath the rock, there are charming little shops where we had a great time browsing and buying unique local gifts and souvenirs. From there, we headed into the town of Guatapé, a beautiful, colorful place full of history and culture. Joshua shared fascinating stories about the town’s past and its traditions, making the experience both fun and educational. We also enjoyed an authentic Colombian lunch that was absolutely delicious — the perfect way to experience the local flavors! Throughout the entire tour, Joshua went above and beyond, making extra stops along the way to ensure we were comfortable and having the best possible experience. This tour was the perfect combination of adventure, culture, and relaxation. If you are visiting Medellín, I highly recommend booking this experience with Joshua. His knowledge, friendliness, and attention to detail truly made the day unforgettable.
Great day with Josh. Easy trip to the rock and then lunch and jet skiing in Guatape. Josh told us all about the history and arranged everything, including lunch. Highly recommended!!!
We only had a few days in Medellin and were initially reluctant to do a tour that had such a long drive with young kids, but it was so worth it. We did a private tour so we could go at our own pace. Our guide Sebastian had a suggested itinerary, which included a stop at a farm before climbing El Pinol. But he was very flexible and we decided to go directly to El Pinol. I was so proud our 5 year old hiked all the way up by himself! Even our two year old took a few steps! There are a few small attractions at the base of El Pinol that caught our son’s eye, but since we spent so long at El Pinol, we didn’t have time to do a boat tour around the lagoon. We did take a walk in Guatape and a tuktuk ride. It was an unforgettable experience for all of us!
This was an excellent day trip to see a beautiful area outside of Medellin. Our tour guide, Joshua, was excellent, not only taking us around but also answering our questions and providing great stories of the local history and culture. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day on this tour. Our guide Joshua was excellent and friendly. His English was impeccable which was a big help as my Spanish was very basic. Before arriving at the monolith rock we stopped along the way at a llama and alpaca farm. It was such a treat to pet them and also see other animals that were there. At the monolith rock, the area was stunning with spectacular views. While my friend climbed the rock, I did not due to a healthy fear of heights. Once the climb was complete (my friend raved about the spectacular views at the top). Joshua asked if we wanted to participate in any of the other tours in the area. We opted for a private boat tour. We caught the boat at a nearby home where we descended to the water below and met the waiting boat. The tour included details of the various homes (many celebrities and infamous individuals) who lived in the area. It was a beautiful area. We then visited the town of Guatape which was a colourful and unique place definitely worth the visit. Lots of art shops and restaurants. We had lunch with Joshua (we treated our guide as he was so accommodating to our requests and many questions). Joshua was helpful in translating if needed in some of the shops. In all a wonderful day, highly recommend this tour company. Thank you Joshua for a great day and memories made!
I can't say enough on how beautiful this area is. The drive to Guatape was very good and the surrounding views are just stunning. We enjoyed all the activities that were included. The views from the rock are amazing. We chose to do this tour because we did another one with Camilo and he is just great to be with all day. Camilo also took us to a great restaurant for a late lunch before we headed back to Medellin. We highly recommend this private tour.
Another excellent private tour with guide Camilo! We enjoyed visiting the farm and trying the pandebono (Colombian cheese bread) with some coffee before we moved on to the boat ride. After that we went to El Penol and Camilo let us use as much time as we needed. The stairs were easier than expected and the views from the top are amazing. After that we walked through the colorful town and had a delicious late lunch before we headed back to Medellin. Excellent tour and Camilo is the best guide!
Joshua was a great tour guide! He took us to the alpaca farm and then drove us to the rock. Views were incredible. Then he took us to guatape and gave us a great tour of the town! We also did a boat and jet ski tour and he was very helpful in coordinating that. He was such a nice tour guide!! Everyone should do a tour with Joshua when in Medelllin!
The View Is Amazing And The Tour With them Made The Experience, so Comfortable. They picked me in the airport. Take me to the trip and let me at my hotel safely. Completely recommended.
Good tour - Camilo, our guide, was excellent. Tour would be good for family with kids (first stop had llamas, goats, etc - fun to see as an adult, but kids would love it). Boat tour showed off the lake and Escobar’s daughter’s old digs, and then Guatape itself. Moderately active so probably best not to be out too late the night before.
Our day trip from Medellin hotel to Guatape was excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He managed the schedule around rain showers gave plenty of opportunities for photos and explained many beautiful socalos on the quaint shops and restaurants in the town of Guatape. Highly recommended.
The tour guide was very informative and down to earth he was also very respectful and on time He let us take our time and didn’t rush us at all . I really enjoyed my time and would surely use Camatours again.
Camilo was very nice and attentive! I am normally a very shy person and the conversation with him flowed very easily, 10/10!
Originally our tour pick up time was 8am. A couple of days before our tour we were informed that we would be picked up at 7am because the date of our tour was a national holiday. Even though 7am was a bit early for us it turned out to be a good call. Our guide, Joshua picked us up on time. He was engaging and knowledgeable about Medellín and answered all of our questions. The drive to Guatape was a little less than two hours but it didn’t feel long because the views were amazing. Our first stop was El Peñol. Tour guides are not allowed to climb so Joshua stayed back while me and family climbed (me, husband and 11 y/o son). Since we got there early in morning there weren’t a lot people so it wasn’t crowded. After the rock we went to the town of Guatape. Guatape is colorful and charming town. Joshua shared the history with us. The next stop was a boat ride on the Guatape dam where we saw the remains of Pablo Escobar’s estate and the beautiful homes along the dam. Next we had típico Colombian lunch. Joshua was very helpful to us with ordering. The food was very tasty! After lunch we headed back to our hotel. I would highly recommend Camantours and Joshua for their excellent service!
We had a fantastic experience with Joshua as our tour guide for the Guatapé Rock tour from Medellín. He was fluent in English, knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts and history throughout the trip, and incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome and engaged. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
Joshua was amazing. He was right on time and provided lot of useful information about Medellin, Piedra De Penol & the Guatape. He took us to a great lunch place right next to the lake. Definitely a must if you are in Medellin. Camilo & Caman tours are the best!
Our tour of Guatape was an absolute blast! Our guide, Joshua, took us to some incredible places like El Alto De Chocho, El Penol, and the Pueblo of Guatape. He gave us a fascinating history lesson and I could tell he was super proud of his culture. Joshua was super knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. He was also an excellent driver, making sure we were safe and comfortable. He even stopped along the way for some shopping and lunch, making it an unforgettable experience for all of us.
Absolutely outstanding 💞❤️ we had Joshua as our tour guide . I will recommend him 100%. He is a very knowledgeable person, family oriented and professional at all times.
