A really good tour with our guide Daniel who knew a lot about Medellin, Communa 13 and the narco history of the city. Really recommend it!

What a trip, Daniel was the bomb , I mean he explained the entire pablo story and it was In great detail.. I had hesitation on booking this trip but after the experience with Daniel and his knowledge of Medellín, communa 13 and the Escobar story. I’d recommend this 100 of 100 times.. I could go on and on .. me and my friends haven’t stop talking about how great Daniel was.. I’m so glad he was our guide .. he even bought us all a beer on him at the top of communa 13.. book this now and ask for Daniel.. thank me later
We really enjoyed our experience on this tour. It was a private guide and transport. And our guide was full of lived knowledge. It is an interesting way to learn about Pablo considering his history - but its very clear this is a tour to learn + never allow it to repeat itself. I really respect the way Colombia seeks to remember the victims and not romanticize Pablo. Communa13 is a highlight - we stayed on after our tour so that we could explore in our own time. We felt very safe + did a bit of shopping.
Joe was very knowledgeable and insightful with local knowledge. As a solo traveller I can highly recommend to other people.
The trip With Joe from Medellin city tours was fascinating, a lot of knowledge and he was always bringing outstanding service my wife and I recommend you guys do the tour with him!! We love you, Joe
Awesome time, tour guide was perfect, friendly, funny and knew alot. Was worth every dollar. Would recommend this to anyone.
This was an incredible experience which I would highly recommend. It was a tour across the city stopping at La Catedral, Communa 13 and Escobar’s grave site, taking in the various suburbs and points of interest by car. Joe, the tour guide was highly knowledgeable and knew all the stories from Medellin’s violent past, but just as much about how the city transformed and the community healed to make it a much more positive and safer place. It really brought it to life for me, someone who has read all the books and watched all the documentaries, movies and series! Pick up and drop pack to my hotel in El Poblado all went smoothly. Couldn’t have asked for more.
We opted for more of the city tour than the drive to Escobar's grave and the site of the jail. David was very personable and provided us with a very informative and enjoyable tour.
Amazing views all around. Great look into the culture and community. I took plenty of pictures being solo the tour guide was more than happy to take them for me
Certainly not worth the money for what you get (5-10 min stops, apart from Communa 13 tour). Spending more time in car getting from one stop to another. We done Guatape tour with another supplier and it was slightly more expensive but guide and overall experience was not even comparable. Communa 13 certainly worth visiting though. Also, in tour trip it says they will take to the area where Pablo grew up, but then our tour guide said it does not exist anymore so we did not go there (which is fine but slightly misleading info in advertising) Overall, would not recommend this for a friend, and better just get a taxi myself to Communa 13
We did the Comuna 13 and Pablo Escobar tour. Our tour guide Juan did an amazing job! He was punctual, very informative and really cool guy to be around. Took us to the Escobar tour and explained everything with so much detail. I didn’t know the history of Escobar so it was really cool finding out all the information and how things really went down. After we went to Comuna 13. The street art was so beautiful, I pibe the energy and vibes there. He took us all the way to the top to get an amazing view of Medellin. After he took us to a restaurant that he highly recommended and let me tell you, he did not disappoint! Best food I’ve tasted here in Colombia (and the food here is really good so that says something) thank you again Juan got such a dope day!! Definitely recommend this tour and I recommend him as a tour guide!
Davis, who was our tour guide was absolutely amazing in his knowledge of the history of Pablo Escobar as it truly happened. La Catedral was beautiful and the area in the mountains was very pastoral and tranquil. I hope to have Davis once again as my tour guide when we return.
Tour guide was not knowledgeable. He had no clue where to go and pulled over at least 10 times looking up/asking directions. He didn't know how to drive and the car turned off 16 times. He rolled back and hit a car behind us and also hit the side of the mountain coming down it. We never saw Communa 13 nor the Cathedral. We rode for 6.5 hours and only got out the car for 35 min. total. The tour ran over 1.5 hours and made us late for our flight. We begged for him to take us to the airport for a price so we could catch the plane but they said NO. We had to wait on a UBER. By the Grace of GOD we only made our flight because it was delayed. They then lied to Viator about the details of what happened. Very disappointed, stressed and traumatized.
Great trip. Juan showed really good knowledge and was great host. Highly recommend. Great finishing with a tour around Comuna 13.
Amazing tour! Our driver was very informative and accommodating to our every request. Thank you so much.
It was a great experience, my tour guide Juan was very knowledgeable. The walk through comuna 13 seeing all the graffiti was my favorite part. If you have any interest in Escobar’s part of this country’s history this tour is a must. I highly recommend it.
It was a very nice tour with the Guide Juan! He always take care of your well being and give you lots of good informations.
We did the Pablo Escobar tour and Comuna 13 with Daniel. We were given a private tour and really enjoyed it. Daniel is very knowledgeable not only about those places but Colombian history and Culture in general. I did the tour while pregnant and he was constantly checking if I was ok to continue. He was very accommodating making sure we had drinks during the tours and breaks which allowed me to finish the whole tour and enjoy it despite my condition. My boyfriend is into Pablo Escobar' story, me not so much. I particularly enjoyed going to comuna 13. I will definitely recommended this company and Daniel of course. They are punctual, reliable, safe and serious business.
There was a miscommunication with the pick up location and one other mishap along with our short time frame, we were visiting for a day in Medellin. However Our English guide was knowledgeable and down to earth which was awesome.Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would take another tour with the company. Thanks Camilo and Wilson see you again soon
We had an amazing day on this tour with the best guide ever Juan. Juan was informative, friendly, professional and his knowledge was fantastic as was his English. Comuna 13 is an incredible place to visit, once a no go area due to the violence of the Escobar days the place now has amazing graffiti artwork and a incredibly friendly and safe vibe to it. The escalator system they have put in place for the people living there is a god send, I really don’t know how they managed before it and one section is still to be completed. We visited the prison where Pablo was held, the rooftop where he was killed and his graveside. The tour in no way glamourises Escobar it only reaffirms the death and destruction he brought to a beautiful city and country and Juan was very honest about this situation. I would highly recommend this tour and Juan and if you are narcos fan which i am you will love it even more. There is so much more to Medellin and Colombia than the Escobar days and I recommend everyone visits this beautiful city. Loved my time here and will definitely be back.
Juan did a fantastic job explaining the history of Pablo Escobar and the impact he had both in Medellin and the world. He really understood the entire story and was able to give detailed accounts of some of the minor players in the story. Juan also help us understand more about the legacy that Pablo left behind and the need for Medellín to continue to leave this unfortunate history in the past. Thanks Juan.
Our guide Mario took me and my GF on a private tour through Medellin where he shared the history of the city as well as the story of Pablo Escobar. He was very much on point, got all the details and his English was perfect!
The Pablo and Comuna 13 tour was amazing. Our guide a Wilson was fantastic, so knowledgeable and great fun. We felt so safe with him. Our children (11 and 8) loved it. Thank you so much. We would highly recommend
A M A Z I N G! Me and my boyfriend went on a private tour and did the Pablo Escobar and the New Medellin - Communa 13 Tour. Julio Cesar, a BIG THANK YOU. Your information, your empathy, your honesty, and everything on the tour was awesome. Truly appreciated every minute of it. Pablo Escobar tour was very informative and learned things we didn’t know. Communa 13- changed all perspectives for me and my boyfriend, we felt safe, we felt just like the locals, ate and drank from the local spots - THE COFFEE SHOP is a MUST! Ambience was also truly amazing. Thank you, THANK YOU, thank you!!! This tour is highly recommended.
It is thanks to our guide Erika we had such an excellent opportunity to learn a lot about the times of drug cartels as well as about past and present of Comuna 13 and much more than that. If you are in Medellin I would recemmend this tour to take. She knows astonishly much and is still learning and trying to figure out the truth and a really lovely person. Thank you Erika for all of the information and an incredible day.
Tour and the guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. All the best places are included, would definitely recommend
This was such a good tour. Wilson was so knowledgable and thought us so much about the days of Pablo. It was so good to go to Comuna 13 too, something really special about the place and it has some beautiful wall art. Highly recommend this tour.
We had a great experience with our tour guide Wilson, I really recommend the tour and if you can ask for this guy do it, he is full of knowledge and with good contacts. You won’t regret. Thanks again Wilson!!
My friend and me did this tour with Wilson on our last day in Medellin, and we wish we'd done it sooner! Hotel pickup in an air conditioned car, and on the busy roads of Medellin he was such a calm safe driver. The tour of commua 13 was excellent, he took amazing pictures for us and videos and introduced us to some of the people there. The Pablo Escobar half was also brilliant, he took us to the roof Pablo was killed on and also his grave, and la catheral with an incredibly detailed and interesting commentary for each. Such a great tour, I would recommend anyone coming to Medellin to book this!
Steven was a great tour guide and gave us so much information, kept it interesting throughout. definitely recommend for other people! best tour guide we have ever had :) thank you so much!
We spent a brilliant half day with Wilson doing the Pablo Escobar your and Communa 13. Just go ahead and book this tour. Air conditioned car, private guide, fantastic door to door service and the ability to spend as long or as short of a time at each place. We met so many people who did bus tours and trust me, if you’re coming all the way to Medellin, just do this tour! We first explored C13, it was empty before all the other groups arrived and was brilliant to meet some of the locals and explore the area. We then followed the Pablo route and Wilson’s knowledge was brilliant. We discussed every aspect from the history of Pablo to the knock on effects to now, the communities feelings on the Narcos tourism and we learnt so much. We had a brilliant explore of La Catedral, going for the views alone would have been enough but Wilson took us to every corner. For any Narcos fan it’s brilliant to see but this isn’t a tour to celebrate the show. It’s the gritty reality and the positives on the reformed location and it’s new uses too. Wilson not only has outstanding English, but he knows so many people in the communities it added such a nice touch. From meeting the Graffiti artists in C13 to taking fantastic photos of us in the duration. He really was one of the best guides I’ve ever had on a tour and we felt we had made great friends by the end of the trip together. Thank you Wilson! From Jo and Gabi
We got picked up direct from our hostel by our guide Wilson. Wilson has to one of the best tour guides I have ever had - He provided loads of information and kindly took many pictures of me and my friend along the way. This a great tour and way of seeing the city. Highly recommend
Coming to Medellin many want to go on the Narcos Experience to checkout what happened during the dark ages of Colombia. Though some find it controversial to go on a Tour that talks about the life of Pablo Escobar it is still part of Medellins history. Many Tours will talk about Pablo but only this Tour done by Carlos will let you go behind the scenes and live the real story through the eyes of a former Cop. We chose to do the 8 hour Tour. Carlos picked us up at our Hotel and we were off to the Barrio Pablo Escobar to checkout the Monument of El Patron. Carlos is a well connected man so he asked a lady to open up her shop for us to checkout some Pablo Souvenirs. Talking about his own history and life as a Cop during those tough times was definitely touching. Imagine having a price to your head walking around the streets of the then most dangerous City in the world. We then stopped at La Comuna 13. Carlos doesn‘t only know the history of the Medellin Cartel but of the entire City so going into the Comuna 13 be sure to get some more insider information. We had lunch at La Comuna 13 and then checked out the place where Escobar finally died. The final stop of the Tour is the grave of El Patron, again Carlos knows a lot so you‘ll probably get the best Tour possible. We loved the Tour and we loved spending time with Carlos. If you come to Medellin to know about drugs and bad guys this won‘t be for you. If you come to know about history and don‘t want to glorify a man that has made many mothers cry by killing their children then I recommend you taking the Tour with Carlos. We are already looking forward to September. Carlos, muchas gracias parcero, vos sós grande!
"Oh wow, where do I start...so far during my time in Colombia this has been the best company I have dealt with. From start to finish Medellin City Services has made this an unforgettable experience. Booking process was so easy and staff replied to confirm my booking right away. Guide showed up earlier than most companies so we could start our tour on time and with no delays or last minute surprises. Sebastian (our guide) fully explained the history of Medellin and was so knowledgeable that he made us want to come back by also making us feel more like friends instead of just another guide. Along the journey we were able to customize the stops and steer tour around according to our preferences, so it was much more personalized. Ride was a very comfortable and it was just us and the guide. Not only did Sebastian offered a whole lot of local tips on where to go and what to do, but he also showed us around during extra time at no cost and suggested some of the best restaurants that we wouldn´t even recognize on the web.... Overall, it has been a unique experience which I would definitely recommend to all my friends and relatives. Many congrats, keep up the good work guys... 👍🏻 "
My guide Johan spoke excellent english, tour was not rushed and very relaxed . Johan seems to be able to appreciate people of different ages and wants and will cater to whatever the person or group wants, He has travelled himself a lot so understands what travellers want He has made my stay in Medellin very enjoyable and gives local tips which will help all tourists in a new town no complaints at all, i would totally recommend Johan to any english speaking tourist in Medellin
An excellent tour! David was a fantastic guide, very professional and with a lot of knowledge of the history of Medellin. He took us to the most important sites related to Escobar’s life, with great respect and focus on security. We learned a lot about the evolution of Medellin. Highly recommended!
It’s a great choice to learn about the history around the most controversial person the city has ever had. It also tightens the rope over the supposed kindness of Colombia’s most violent kingpin.
The tour was excellent, I enjoyed it a lot, David is a great guide gives a context of the city that allows to understand everything and also has very valuable information, you can tour the city in a very real and spontaneous way. It was a great experience I highly recommend
Daniel our guide had extremely much background knowledge and explained everything very precisely. He also speaks perfect English. 1000 Thank you for this unforgettable experience and the added value you have offered us!
This was the best of my trip to Medellín, Jorge is a very attentive guide. The fact that it was a private tour gave us the time to take lots of photos and videos!
It was an unforgettable tour!! Mr. Jorge is super friendly, very informative, and was super attentive to us. We had a lot of fun, a tour full of laughter and good times.
No recomiendo esta agencia en particular. Se averían los transporte. En dos tours con la misma agencia el vehículo se daño y tuvimos que llegar en taxi en la noche 25 de diciembre con una adolescente. Horrible experiencia
Super nice and well arranged. Contact is good from start to finish. Our guide Orlando was super!! The tour (private) was 5 hours but ended up taking almost the whole day!! More than worth it.
Our guide Juan makes his tours with pure passion. He explained to us with conviction that he does not work, but does what he loves. We could feel that during the tour. With enthusiasm he informed us in detail about the history of drug lord Pablo Escorba and his atrocities! We can only recommend this tour as it was very intense. It was also very luxurious to be driven from A to B by car and to have the guide completely to ourselves.
We had a great tour with Juan. He speaks very good English and was able to explain the history of Medellin and Pablo Escobar in a very understandable way. Besides, it was very comfortable to be with Juan in the car, the prison and the Comuma 13 and Pablo's grave we would not have reached without him. It was a great day, we learned and saw a lot and really had fun. Anytime we would do another tour with Juan and can absolutely recommend him.
The tour to discover this part of Medellin’s history with our guide Silvio was one of the most interesting parts of our trip: the beauty of Medellin in the background and a thousand stories that intertwined with our “television acquaintances”. Thanks to Silvio we understood what it was to live Medellin in those days... and thanks to his sympathy and friendliness even our 5-year-old girl had fun!
