Super fun tour at a farm growing coffee and other things, along with other barnyard animals and very friendly dogs! Daniella and Sophie were excellent hosts making our experience super fun and educational. Sampled many doffirent styles of making coffee and the difference is remarkable! Lunch was traditional, with the most stunning view of the Colombian hillside. Last but certainly not least. The pick up and drop off by Mateo was seamless. Oh, and a ride on a mule! Super fun and worthwhile day!!

Overall, this felt like a fairly touristy experience. You basically - arrive at a small farm - pick some coffee beans off plants - watch a demonstration of the bean processing, learn different brewing methods, and taste it - everyone eats lunch What didn’t work for me most was that it completely lacked authenticity. The guide (while lovely and a great English speaker) had no personal connection to the subject matter nor special expertise… it was all very scripted and included lots of lame jokes. We arrived with ~25 other patrons who were put through this experience simultaneously, dressed up in branded outfits and put through a carbon copy experience. Also — we were jammed into the third row of a small hybrid SUV for the 45 minutes each way to the farm, which didn’t help. It totally lacked any soul and everything that was taught I felt like I could have learned by reading for 10 minutes online. And I hate to say it, but the coffee was just okay. The good news is that it was a beautiful setting, there were some adorable farm animals and everyone was very nice. But the experience was a bit soulless.
Very easy pick up and drop off at our hotel. The tour by Christian was fun and educational..
Very good experience. Read the description and dress accordingly. People with sandals (or worse, heels) had a very hard time walking the inclines and uneven surfaces. Sneakers are fine!
Our visit to Finca La Arrinconada was one of the highlights of our trip to Medellín. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about Colombian coffee, from the growing and harvesting process to the preparation of the final cup. Although I don’t drink coffee, my friends do, and we really enjoyed learning about the process and tasting the final product. The experience gave us a greater appreciation for the hard work, dedication and tradition behind Colombia’s world-famous coffee. The beautiful surroundings were rustic and felt wonderfully natural, adding to the experience and making it both relaxing and educational. If you're visiting Medellín and looking for an authentic coffee farm experience, I would definitely recommend including this tour in your itinerary. A memorable experience and absolutely worth it!
Had such an amazing time on this coffee tour! Erick picked us up right from our hotel, which made starting the day super easy. Daniela led our group in English and was honestly fantastic—so knowledgeable, warm, and passionate about what she does. I learned a ton, especially hearing about the family history behind the farm, and loved getting to taste coffee prepared with methods I’d never tried before. Lunch was absolutely delicious, and the little souvenir at the end was such a cute treat. Just a heads-up for anyone planning to go: definitely be prepared for a small but legit hike along the way, so pack appropriate shoes with a bit of tread! Couldn't say enough great things about Daniela and the whole team—easily a must-do if you're in Medellín!
I got to pick coffee I got to taste coffee. Great by people very friendly. I got great photos to share with my friends
Fun and great experience learn so much about coffee and Mateo was friendly and nice and taught us many ways to make coffee.
It was a very enjoyable experience. The driver, David, that picked us up from our Hotel and escorted us around the sugar cane facility, was very helpful and informative. Our group leader, Teodoro I think, made this an excellent tour/event. Informing us all about the coffee farming and processing of the beans. Of course we sampled several different cups of coffee made in different ways. Would highly recommend this tour.
Highly recommend this tour! Super educational and overall a fun time, food and coffee are delicious
Thats was super fun very educational I now know how to make coffee the right way. You learn a lot about coffee, you get to pick coffee and taste coffee that was brewed in different ways like French press, Turkish ect. and the meal at the end was by far the best meal I had on my trip so far.
Getting picked up was super convenient! Flexible also. The experience was 10/10 I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about code coffee and how to brew them! It was nice to see all the animals and they fed us a fresh cooked meal that was delicious. Even was given a little surprise at the end! Loved this experience
The tour was excellent. It was a small, charming coffee farm with a really great guide. We had an English-language tour, and since we were the only English speakers, we essentially received a private tour. Our guide, Daniela, was professional and so fun. We learned everything about coffee, from start to finish—right up to the brewing stage—and got to taste some delicious coffee. Thanks to Daniela for a fun and informative morning.
We had such a great experience on this coffee tour! We were picked up close to our Airbnb by a very friendly representative who even gave us a little tour and shared information about the area as we made our way out to the coffee region. Once we arrived at the plantation, we had the option of heading up the hill on horseback or walking. Since it was such a nice, brisk morning, we decided to walk and really enjoyed it. We were welcomed with a drink and then divided into English- and Spanish-speaking groups. I joined the English group, which was small and intimate, and we were lucky enough to have the owner himself lead our experience. His knowledge and passion for coffee were incredible. He explained both traditional and modern methods of coffee production and walked us through the entire process. We even went out and picked coffee cherries ourselves, learning how to tell when they are ripe—and discovering that the fruit is actually sweet when you first open it! We learned about the different methods of drying and roasting the beans and ultimately got to see the entire journey from picking the coffee to brewing and drinking it. As an unexpected bonus, they also grow sugarcane on the property, so we got to see how it is processed and cooked down into traditional Colombian panela. We were able to taste it fresh and even take some with us, which was a really nice touch. The experience finished with an awesome lunch, plenty of coffee, and all of us happily caffeinated! It was educational, interactive, relaxed, and genuinely fun from beginning to end. If you’re visiting the Medellín area and want to understand Colombian coffee beyond simply drinking it, this is a definite must-do experience.
We enjoyed this tour from start to end. It's a really great experience. We added the "mule ride" to get to the Coffee Hacienda and it was AMAZING. Try it!! I laughed all the way. The experience and coffee tour was great. I loved to learn about the process. Be prepared to try like 6-8 different types of coffee, dance, pick up coffee beans and feel like you were hired by them. It's the full experience with boots and uniforms included xD. The meal was very cultural and served in this really cool way. It sure is a Colombian gastronomic experience. I recommend this for sure!! My family and I loved it.
Be prepared to hike vertical unpaved slippery steep hill if you don’t pay for the mules/horses. Once up there, we wasted 1 hr+ just waiting for folks to arrive. picking beans is hard also as it is steep/slippery hill… hiking boots for sure.
This was such a great tour. As a coffee lover it was great to get hands on and see how the process works. The staff were attentive and the whole experience was well worth the money. And the food was excellent - being vegan it can be hit and miss but this tour caters really well. You won’t have a better view when eating lunch anywhere in the world.
I recommend this coffee tour because it was lively, international and very accommodating. I booked with the option to pick up at a hotel near where I was staying. When I was contacted the day of to confirm pick up by the driver, he ended up coming right to my door. (Pick up and drop off). It was great! At the farm you get a lot of interaction from the guide and learn a lot about the coffee preparation and flavors. Daniella was great! Couldn’t say enough great things about her. If you have about 4/5 hours to fill - book this experience!
Enjoyable tour. They picked us up at our Airbnb along with others. Drove to starting point and walked or have the option to take horseback. Definitely recommend sneakers - shoes with grip for walk along with picking coffee beans. Fun learning about the entire process from seedling to roasting. Next was the different type of brewing from various countries. Leaned about how to recognize type of coffee you’re drinking. Topped it off with a tasty authentic Colombian lunch. Our guide Mateo (I believe) was knowledgeable and made it fun. Recommend this tour especially if you enjoy coffee or curious how it’s processed.
This was such a fun experience. Don’t be alarmed by a message that a driver (not a van) is picking you up because it will be clear when you get there that a typical tourist van wouldn’t be able to get up the coffee farm road. David was a great driver and communicated well despite the language gap. As for the farm, well it’s hard to describe but it’s a must do experience and I’ll never look at coffee the same. I learned so much and we were able to taste coffee brewed in new ways. I also really enjoyed the humor used to deliver the detail of the coffee growing experience. The whole experience was top notch and I would absolutely recommend this experience to my own family and friends.
To learn more about how coffee is grown and processed was a unique experience. Since then I’ve learned new ways to appreciate the art of making coffee
Prompt pick-up from hotel then a drive to the coffee farm. A good introduction to coffee production. Staff were very friendly and lunch was included. A nice trip out of the city of Medellin
The best tour I’ve taken in Medellín. The hotel pickup maybe the day a lot easier and smoother. Our driver helped carry a baby from another family up and down the mountains. The tour guide was informative and funny. There were constant refreshments to hydrate after walking up and down hill. The food with the view was perfect. It was really great to learn about the various ways to make coffees around the world and taste them with different profiles. Great information, great ambience.
Amazing, in depth experience. Learn all about the coffee process, from planting through the actual making of coffee. Terrific experience!!!
The tour experience was fantastic. Mateo, the tour guide, had extensive knowledge about coffee, from its cultivation to its preparation. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, and the traditional lunch was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this experience.
What an amazing experience!! We were greeted by a wonderful family that educated us on how coffee is grown, harvested, processed, roasted, ground, brewed and most importantly how it should taste! In addition to the coffee we were served the local drink and a home cooked traditional meal. The tour is more than just a coffee lesson, we were welcomed to a family’s home and made us feel like valued guests!!
Excellent tour with lots of interesting information and great insights. The pickup was well organized, the food was good, and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth it—I highly recommend this tour!
This coffee tour in Medellín was the absolute highlight of my trip to Colombia. It was an unforgettable experience that completely changed how I appreciate my morning brew. The tour included round-trip transport which was comfortable, and took all the stress out of navigating public transport. The guide did a deep dive into tastings which were incredibly educational. If you are visiting Medellín, this tour is an absolute must-book. Just be warned: your taste buds will be forever spoiled, and you will never look at a regular cup of coffee the same way again!
We enjoyed this experience full of laughs, activities and knowledge about the coffee process from the picking of the beans to tasting. Well organized, well executed and very easy to learn from the guide.
Wonderful experience! Good education about Colombian coffee. Tour guide was amazing and his helper Sofia was the best
This tour was amazing. It is located in a breathtaking area. The views are amazing. This experience has taught me how to truly enjoy a cup of coffee. You start by learning the process from picking the bean, seeing how it’s fermented/dried to grinding and learning different methods of making coffee. It’s literally changed the way I think of coffee. I am home now and wish I got more bags of coffee to bring home.
It was a great experience for us. We loved the easy hotel pickup and drop off. The driver was great. The coffee plantation was very well organized. Once the bus drops you off there is a bit of a walk in a steep incline. The picking of the beans was great. Really enjoyed it as well as the art of coffee making in different parts of the world. The good was good. Meats were slightly over cooked but after climbing in the coffee trees picking berries we were starving. A fun experience for sure. Beautiful area!!
We absolutely adored this tour. My partner and I are pretty knowledgeable about coffee and I have been on multiple coffee tours; but we both learned something and appreciated the expertise. Coffee was phenomenal, lunch was delicious, and the family was so welcoming.
Recomended 100 % was amazing With the guided tour in English the 2 ladys and driver David …. Was exellent
Amazing tour lead by Timothy, we learned so much and had a great time. Our tour was both informational but also entertaining.
Great English tour! Our guide kept cracking jokes and kept us all well entertained! The coffee was great and the workers were super friendly
This was amazing, learned so much, gift and food and lots of coffee. The land was full of crops and life all over
Wear hiking shoes very peaceful and you appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing coffee A very informative and pleasurable tour
We had a fabulous experience with Carlos our guide, who picked us and dropped us off at our accommodation, He greeted us with a warm welcome in excellent English, and gave us a running commentary during our drive to the coffee plantation with information and pointing out significant landmarks along the way. He was a great driver who navigated the narrow and steep road up to the plantation with comfort and ease. The whole experience was wonderful. We learnt a lot about the process from start to finish with picking coffee in the plantation and tasting all the different varieties at the end with a delicious snack that was gluten free which I was very thankful for. We had the best day thanks to Carlos, so knowledgeable and informative, what a great experience!
Breathtaking views! Small step back in time to experience this wonderful world of coffee. Without ruining the tour with any specifics, you will enjoy and appreciate each step of the coffee process. Lunch was absolutely delicious. Definitely be prepared for a small but legit hike. One recommendation for the tour, at the end, would be to allow each of us to prepare the coffee as we would have it on a regular day, versus just tasting it black. (For me, that would be adding a little bit of milk.) That would’ve made the experience a bit more enjoyable. Overall, amazing tour!
We learn a lot about coffee. The guide and the presenter had a good sense of humor. The menagerie of farm animals were entertaining. The meal in the banana leaves was copious . I highly recommend this tour. PS. It would be challenging for a person with walking difficulties.
It was a full hands-on- experience.
The experience was great. So much fun and a good mix of active and learning experiences. The farm is beautiful and the guides are very passionate.
Amazing experience. Learned so much today about coffee. I got to pick coffee beans and see the entire process. The tour guide was funny friendly and very knowledgeable. A must do in Medellin.
5 amazing service. The driver picked us up and drove us back. Please get a horse you won’t regret it
As a coffee lover I absolutely enjoyed this tour, they were very nice and you get to try different ways the coffee gets brewed
A great trip - highly recommend. Great location, very informative, lots of coffee tasting and lunch with a view to die for.
Excellent and informative. A fun way to learn about coffee growing, grinding, roasting and of course drinking. But take mosquito repellent!!
I had an amazing experience on this coffee tour in Medellín! Everything was well organized, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. Our tour guide, David, was absolutely incredible such a kind, knowledgeable, and passionate person. He made the entire experience engaging and fun while sharing so much about the coffee process and local culture. The food was delicious, and the gift was truly memorable, which made the experience even more special. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, David, for making it so memorable!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this day trip out of Medellin. It was a comprehensive experiential trip that included picking coffee beans and learning about the planting, growth, harvesting, processing and preparing of coffee. We also sampled enough coffee to keep us going for the rest of the day! Everyone from our driver to all the people working at the farm was both friendly and genuinely interested in sharing what they knew. Getting out to the beautiful countryside surrounding Medellin was also well worth it. I highly recommend this trip.
