Too long part for coffee - 4 hours, you become very tired, then “lunch” not for everyone, then heavy raining and no possibility for safety horse riding, that’s why we rejected. No helmets at all for horse riding in mountains during rain.
Great tour! We learned so much about coffee, ate delicious lunch and enjoyed the time in the farm! Horseback riding requires some skill especially going up the mountains
Coffee tour was Top. Horse back riding was short compared to the coffee tour. I would expect 50/50 qua duration of both
Great experience! We were picked up at our Airbnb by a private driver arranged by D’Arrieros. We learned a wealth of information about coffee growing and brewing among other interesting facts. Also tastes of different coffee related cold and hot drinks and of course fresh brewed delicious local coffee from D’Arrieros! Afterwards a delicious “Paisa” inspired lunch with all the trimmings and another refreshing cold coffee shell derived lemonade. Afterwards we went for a horse ride around the farm with Don Jorge as our guide. Great fun.
Laura was a wonderful guide. Knew a LOT about the coffee they promote. The horses we rode were worth it. Highly recommend this tour!
The tour was fantastic, learned alot about the coffee making process. Lunch was delicious and the horseback riding was our favorite part of our entire trip. Unforgettable experience.
Great overall experience. Our guide Samuel was entertaining and knowledgeable. You get to learn how coffee grows and the history of coffee. You get to pick some beans and see the process. You get to try a few different drinks. The horse experience is different. It is not for the faint at heart as you ride through some very unimproved and narrow passes that we thought were neat. Very steep climbs on the horse and on foot, so I would say this is a moderate activity. While there isn't a great deal of walking, the walking is on cobblestone and dirt. Great for getting into the local feel, but difficult for the elderly or those challenged by steep unstable walks. The horse ride is a little long, so ask for the shorter ride through the farm and not the rustic town. Our horse guide Jorge spoke no English but was a kind and caring person. We enjoyed Jorge and Samuel very much.
Laura was an amazing guide, super accommodating and knowledgeable about coffee and even horses. Highly recommend this tour!
This trip was amazing, my tour guide and all the crew was very attentive, and kind. We learned everything about coffee and had a lot of fun. I was solo traveling and felt safe with the pick up and the entire experience. The farm was beautiful and well organized, horseback riding was absolutely worth it, I had Jorge guiding me through it (in Spanish) and we he was teaching me about horses.
Incredible experience learned soooo much about the process of coffee and tea. Horseback riding was great. The staff were amazing! Tasting and food were also amazing! Highly recommend!
The guide was full of energy, fun facts about coffee she really made it a fun experience
Samuel was an excellent tour guide through the coffee farm and gave us a wonderful history of coffee and all there is know about selecting a good one. We wrapped up the day with horseback riding tour with Don Jorge. These people work so hard to show us a great time in Colombia!
A great day. A van picked us up at the hotel in a timely manner. We were greeted warmly at the plantation by Jorge. We requested a tour guide who spoke English and ended up with Daniela. She spoke English well, and she was fun and friendly. We learned about, the history of coffee, good and bad coffee and the life of the muleras who work on the plantations. We had a wonderful and plentiful lunch, tasted different kinds of coffee, and took a nice tour on horseback. Amazing views all day. Parts of the trails were very steep to climb and on horseback not for the faint of heart, but the tour guides were very helpful and took good care of everybody. All in all a very good day!
This was amazing and informative. The whole experience was great and fun. Highly recommend. Makes you appreciate the labor it takes for a cup of coffee. The food was realllllly good too!
Great experience and very educational tour. Samuel and his team were very tentative, answered all our questions and showed us a great time
We had such a wonderful experience on this coffee tour! Everything was well organized, and it was a great way to learn how coffee is grown, processed, and the best methods for brewing it. A special shout-out to our driver, Guillermo. He was incredibly kind, trustworthy, and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire trip. The drive was enjoyable, and his friendly personality made the experience even more memorable. The horse riding was a fantastic addition and made the tour even more unique. Overall, it was a fun, educational, and unforgettable experience. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
The coffee tour was great and highly educational. We enjoyed the horse back riding, but as experienced riders we were nervous riding along the main road with cars just feet from the horses.
Very amazing. Pickup was easy, met some cool travelers, learned a lot about coffee from our very kind and funny tour guide Samuel. The coffee, food, and desserts were awesome, and riding the horse was pretty sweet (and terrifying). Highly recommend!
This was very organized and the food for lunch was super filling, the horse ride was very very safe and they have both English and Spanish sections to explain how a coffee bean becomes coffee. If I could change one thing it would be to try more coffee and different kinds and that they offered cream and sugar/honey. There are many free gifts for you and all of the people are extremely patient throughout :)
Samuel was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable. It was the first time for me and my brother doing this tour. And even tho we are not big coffee drinker it was really good to learn the difference between good coffee and the bad one. Horseback riding was also alot of fun and definitely recommended this tour.
I loved the trip overall. They shared information about coffee including its history. The most fun part was gathering coffee beans and just discovering. Also, riding horses and just seeing the view was mesmerizing. Thank you for the experience - it was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday!!
This tour is a great deal and well worth it. The transportation was punctual and kind. The coffee farm experience was fun and educational, we even got a diploma to be certified coffee snobs. The meal was delicious and traditional. I have always been hesitant about horseback rides, especially taking my daughter but each horse is hand guided by an experienced guide. I felt safe the entire time. The landscape is beautiful and the horse guided make sure and take pics for you with your own phone. This tour was a win win for me. I made a beautiful memory with my daughter. You will need to be able to do moderate activity with a short distance of climbing.
Dani was an excellent guide. The views were great. Coffee and food were delicious
My friend and I really enjoyed this tour! I don't even drink coffee and I thoroughly had a great time learning about the different processes and trying all the different treats. Ask for Samuel if possible, he really kept the energy up and kept us entertained! We never felt bored even though it was a lot for information. The horse riding was also a lot of fun. As it was our first time riding, the uphill path as a bit scary for us but we felt safe knowing that the trainers were walking along with us the whole time. We would've liked to begin on flat terrain but that is a small detail. Another small detail would be to improve the trainers picture taking skills, he offered many photos but unfortunately none are very good. I would highly recommend this tour! The finca was beautiful, everyone was so kind, and it definitely left a positive mark on our Medellin trip.
We had such a great time! The experience as a whole was incredibly educational and so fun! Renee our driver was super friendly and Samuel our tour guide was super interactive with the group. The lunch we were given was delicious and so was the coffee! The horses were really tame too! Overall I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellin!
We had a truly amazing and informative trip :) The company whatsapp'ed us before to confirm pick up details, we were connected to our driver via whatsapp which helped with smooth pick up from the park. (we arrived early just to be safe). We met other travellers on the car ride which was very pleasant and the time flew out and were at the coffee farm. Everyone at the coffer farm were super friendly and spoke enough english that it was a enjoyable experience :) We leant so much about coffee from planting (we got to plant too) to brewing and sipping. We sampled everything! fruit juice, tea and of course COFFEE! Warning, there is a little bit of a hike on the farm as you pick your coffee beans but the guide will help you if you are a clumsy hiker like me. Thankfully i work my hiking shoes with good grip and we had good weather. We purchased coffee sangria at the shop which was amazing :) You can purchase there products to take with you also. We were given a poncho, coffee and coffee bean chocolates to take away as part of the tour. We are vegetarians and the lunch was great! however we couldn't finish it since we were full from all the tastings. We ended the tour with horse back riding through the farm and town which was just lovely <3 My only recommendation for the tour is that the ride back from the farm to Medellin should be airconditioned as it was very HOT.
Positive: horse ride, my driver from Medelin to the farm Luiz was Fantastic!!, very generous gift from the farm, lunch was also very good. I Realy liked to keep the puncho. Issues: the guide: speak too fast, don’t leave guest interacting between each other and keep interrupting discussions, doesn’t master the English language which lead to multiple missunderstandings, this gentleman would benefit to be mentored in order to become more proficient in his job. Lastly, Once at the farm, I had to wait an other 30 minutes before starting the tour. Logistically speaking, it could have been better executed.
100% recommend me and my sister had an amazing time, from the beginning being driven to the place to the very end of the tour, our tour guide Lorena was super lovely and welcoming and super funny, very informative and always made sure we was taken care of. I would definitely recommend if not return again myself with friends and/or family. The other members of staff I don’t remember all their names were also super friendly and made the experience worthwhile, really fun experience, they teach you a ton about where coffee comes from, how to taste it, how to differentiate good coffee and the horse ride was also very fun. thank you to all of you guys 👏
I want to be clear that the tour at the coffee farm itself was wonderful. Lorena, our guide, was very well informed on the coffee making process and was kind and funny. The part I am specifically rating low is the driver, Rene, who was hired to take us two and from the coffee farm. He was meant to take us all the way back to the hotel and instead, halfway back, insisted that his car was making funny sounds and needed to take me and my girlfriend back to his house so that he could 'switch cars.' There were no signs of his car having a problem, it was not making any noises, and no lights were turned on on his dashboard. It was creepy, unprofessional, and his insistence was angering. We demanded he drop us off at the nearest metro stop and he finally agreed. Rene was a huge thorn in our side and made us feel deeply unsafe and disrespected. He has no business offering rides for respectable businesses doing their job and I think his employment should be reconsidered.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who is visiting Medellin. True Medellin experience hits every point and learned so much about coffee I had no idea about. Food was all delicious!
If you don't know much about coffee, I would suggest you take this tour. I enjoyed the horse ride a lot. The driver is very kind and respectful. He even videotaped my horse ride.
This was a great tour, the guide was knowledgeable and had a great vibe. The coffee was delicious and we learnt a lot about the region and about coffee, the horse riding was also great and the guys made it very special and easy!
Such an incredible and unique experience with Daniela and her amazing team! The coffee and horseback riding tour was truly unforgettable. Learning how to properly enjoy and appreciate coffee—from the process to the flavors—was an absolute delight and such a special part of the experience. The horseback riding through the beautiful landscape made it even more immersive and memorable. Daniela and her team were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate, which made the entire tour feel authentic and well cared for. Tip: Be sure to wear jeans and comfortable boots or sturdy shoes. The terrain includes a lot of rocks and mud, so proper footwear will make the ride much more enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a meaningful, educational, and unique experience!
What an excellent tour. We highly recommend it. We learned a lot about coffee, enjoyed the beautiful mountains views and Valentina our guide ( and everyone on the staff ) was superb. The horse ride was thrilling and the food (fiambre) tasted really good. Overall a great day in Colombia
Laura, our tour guide, was engaging, very easy to relate to, and taught us so much about coffee and the Colombian history surrounding it. My wife, who isn’t even a coffee drinker, loved the tea made from the coffee bean skin — and I’m sure we’ll be ordering more in the future. The lunch was great, and we really enjoyed the horseback riding — what an amazing way to complete the excursion. The views of the mountains from the coffee plantation are truly unforgettable.
Fantastic tour! Lara was so knowledgeable and sweet! We learned so much about coffee and tasted amazing drinks and food that were truly authentic and delicious. The horseback riding was a blast. Overall, we had an amazing day and highly recommend this tour!
This was a great and informative experience. The guide provided us with lots of information about coffee and the snacks and lunch were good. I wish that the horseback riding was a bit longer and on a trail.
Laura was my tour guide and it was probably my favorite tour which I did 8 tours total! She really explains everything about picking the right coffee and how to make it at home. The whole experience was very fun. The horseback riding was a little scary at first but then you get used to it. Totally recommend this tour!
It was AMAZING! Laura was exceptional! She deserves a raise haha! It was super informative and the horse riding was thrilling. I will definitely recommend to others.
The coffee tour was amazing. The amount of information I learned was incredible. The tour guide is an awesome guy with great personality. The coffee tastes great and I appreciate it more now. I highly recommend this tour and will be back.
Samuel was an INCREDIBLE tour guide!!!!! His knowledge and enthusiasm made the trip that much more enjoyable! We also did the horseback riding and it was an ADVENTURE! Gustavo was a great guide and kept us and the horses safe the entire time. HIGHLY recommend this tour
We had a great time during this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about coffee and helped us build an appreciation for coffee. The horseback riding was fun and the staff was super friendly.
BE AWARE: The pictures and description are misleading! The coffee portion of the tour is all walking. My tour guide, Lorena, was super fantastic, she deserves all five stars. The tour was informative and really enjoyable. BUT the horses portion of the tour was a huge let down. After all of the coffee portion of the tour is over they put you on a horse and you ride for 10 minutes down a path cut through the coffee area and then you go onto the side of a major roadway with traffic flying past you scaring the horses and then you're back at the farm and you’re done. If there’s an option to do the coffee tour without the horses take that option.
Challenging hike up the mountain for a 67 year old, but our guide, Lorena, lent a helping hand and was very kind. She presented all steps of the coffee process expertly and with humor. The ride downhill on pavement was at a slow walk but our wranglers led us safely over the slippery terrain/pavement.
Fun tour! Coffee farm was cute and very interesting. You’ll learn the history of coffee while having a great time. It did rain during our horseback ride, but still a good experience.
Enjoyed the coffee tour but the horse riding was an uncomfortable one your thighs. Enjoyed the drinks served
Laura thank you so much for the great tour and enthusiasm! It was a wonderful way to learn more about Colombian coffee! The horse ride was nice as well but only went over hardened roads (the final part over the busy street). Not sure if this was due to the weather as the pictures didn’t show this. Nevertheless a great experience overall!
This was so much great information and history about the coffee. Great experience with picking the coffee beans, tasting the different types of coffee. The horse back riding was cool, a lot of great views. My horse was hungry so it kept stopping to eat but the guys got it back on course for me if I couldn’t. It
I managed to get some steps in while climbing the hills to pick my own coffee beans. It was such a magical experience learning how to tell the difference between good and bad coffee, as well as discovering the history behind it. The most thrilling part though was the horseback riding. I had never ridden a horse before, let alone through the hills, and even though the horse didn’t always listen, it was still incredibly enjoyable. I’d highly recommend this excursion to anyone
