Excellent tour with Camillo this morning. Incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Camilo was a great guide and we had a fantastic tour! He is knowledgeable and his English is great. He picked us up from our hotel in a comfortable car and gave us a fascinating background on the Medellin neighborhoods and history. We got to use the metro as well as the cable car and it was a real feet on the ground way to see the city. Don't miss it.
Joshua was a terrific guide for the Medellín city tour — knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about sharing the city’s history and culture. Pickup and drop-off were smooth and right on time, which made the whole experience stress-free. Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Medellín!
Joshua was a great guide. Easy pickup and drop-off from my hotel but once we got to Comune 13 we were able to experience the neighborhood on foot and in the cable car and metro to really experience the city. I learned a ton, saw some great architecture and interesting areas and had a very entertaining and enjoyable conversation throughout. Highly recommend this company, and if you're lucky you'll get Joshua!

Nice tour and even better experience with my guide Camilo;)
So Joshua picked me up at my hotel right on time . I went solo and Joshua narrated interesting points on our way to the town with 13 escalators. That town was great and felt so safe. Joshua was very informative. After we went to central . The entire tour was great and a great history lesson along the way . I learned a lot about Medellin. The reviews don’t lie .
A very nice guy, we had a lot of fun. Because of the earthquake we couldn’t use the cable car but she shows so many other things, great👍
Very good tour and guide. Thoughtful and good conversation.
We had an incredible city tour experience with Joshua. His English was excellent and his knowledge of the city and its history, especially Comuna 13, was extensive. We are a family of four with kids ages 7 & 11, and Joshua tailored the tour to our needs and wants. When the kids were tired he found a great spot to take a break and get a cold drink. We asked to learn about graffiti and street art because my 11 year old was really excited to learn more about it. Not only did Joshua show us and explains the significance of many amazing murals in Comuna 13, he took us to meet the famous street artist Chota 13, who happened to be in the area. We also rode the Metro Cable up the mountain and went to the markets in El Centro. Joshua helped with anything we needed, including making purchases, translating and acting as our personal photographer. He tried to convince us that we can do Comuna 13 on our own next time, but I would prefer to have Joshua as a guide again. Overall the tour was amazing, educational, fun, and authentic. Even the kids enjoyed it (especially when Joshua helped us navigate purchasing a pair of cool sneakers for my son in El Centro). From pickup to drop off, both conveniently at our hotel, the experience was exceptional. Highly recommend, will book again.
Great city tour! Joshua was a very knowledgeable guide who taught us about the history of Comuna 13 and Pablo Escobar. The walk around Comuna 13 was impressive with the many alleys and businesses. He answered all our questions and was very personable. Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this tour of Comuna 13 and Botero Plaza led by Joshua. I learned so much from him and he brought such a great energy the whole time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellín!!
Here’s a polished 150-word review: I had an absolutely amazing experience with this tour company from beginning to end. Our tour guide, Camilo, was exceptional—professional, friendly, caring, and genuinely passionate about sharing the beauty and history of his country. He explained the historical sites and cultural significance in such a clear and engaging way that made everything easy to understand and appreciate. His knowledge, patience, and willingness to answer every question made the tour both educational and enjoyable. Camilo was also punctual, well-organized, efficient, and ensured that every part of the trip ran smoothly. His warm personality made us feel welcomed, safe, and valued throughout the entire experience. Without a doubt, this was one of the best tours I have ever taken. I truly appreciate the outstanding service and unforgettable memories that were created. I will definitely use this company again on my next visit and will confidently recommend their services to my friends, family, and anyone looking for an excellent tour experience.
We had an amazing tour with Camilo! He took us around some of Medellin’s most famous areas and explained the history of this wonderful city beautifully. Would highly recommend this tour
Our tour with Camilo was incredible! We are traveling with a toddler and infant, and he was beyond flexible, patient, and helpful. We got off to a late start (our fault…) and he easily adjusted and helped us continue to meet our kids’ needs throughout the 1/2 day tour. We learned a lot of new information about Medellin and were able to see some major highlights on our final day in Colombia. It saved us so much stress than if we tried to manage it ourselves. I highly recommend!
My guide, Camilo, had so many interesting facts to share about Medellin! I particularly enjoyed all the details he had about the history of Comuna 13 and how the area has evolved up to now. I also appreciated the chance to get a one-on-one experience exploring parts of the city.
It was such a terrific day! Camilo was so knowledgeable and information as just a really great person. I cannot recommend enough. You must ask for Camilo. He is the best!
Had a great day! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable! We wanted to diverse feel of the city and it was just that! Awesome, would do again with this team!
I accidentally gave this the wrong review and I am writing to correct. This is a 6 star experience. My wonderful guide Joshua picked me up the hotel and dropped me off with ease. I was safe and secure the whole time. My guide was knowledgeable. The best part of the solo tour is the personal attention this company gives. They were able to give me everything I wanted and were flexible. The car that I was picked up in was clean and nice too! I fully recommend this service if you are in the city and want a high quality tour service. It costs more than doing a group tour, but the money is worth it. 6 stars for Josh. And 6 stars for this service! Thank you very much.
Very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods and history. Friendly and safety minded
Carlos was amazing. He was personable, attentive and knowledgeable. He made sure we were safe, answered all our questions and provided intensive amounts of history on the city. Highly recommend taking the tour with him.
This was truly a culturally immersive experience. Joshua is very knowledgeable about the history of the city and made this tour unforgettable.
I did the City tour with Camilo and he was amazing. So much knowledge about the city and its history and so generous with his time, with me, and the many people we ran into that he knows. I highly recommend this Tour and I highly recommend Camilo as a guide. 5 ⭐️
Excellent city tour with Joshua, a very professional and pleasant guide. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about Medellin.
We had a fantastic tour of the city of Medellin. We started in Comuna 13 and ended in the plaza where the Botero statues are exhibited. We went up the gondolas and also took the metro around the city. Our guide Joshua was fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly.
This was the best tour I've ever taken, and I've been to five-plus countries. With Camilo, we weren't just learning about the city's history — we were learning how to see it from the locals' perspective. The alleyways of Panama shoes, city castles, and the true meaning of the hummingbird are just a few of the things you'll discover along the way during this roughly four-hour tour. Our guide walked us through a series of perspectives from local Colombians that won't just make you want to revisit for another vacation — they'll make you want to call it home.
Camilo and Joseph were the tour guides for my Medellin tour and I can't sing enough praises for how patient, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind they both were. From Joseph meeting me at the airport on time to Camilo giving me the history and culture of this beautiful city, the entire experience was excellent. I'll even admit that I booked another tour company prior to arrival for one excursion and could immediately tell the difference in the quality of service. That was my mistake. I plan on coming back and will be booking with this company again. 10 out of 10.
Joshua was a wonderful guide. We got a personalized tour seeing all the key highlights. Joshua was patient, interactive and knowledgeable.
This was an excellent trip to do on our first day in Medellín and we were extra lucky to have such a wonderful guide Joshua. It was so nice to be picked up directly from our VRBO in a very comfortable car. May I add that Joshua is an excellent driver in high city traffic. Apart from driving skills Joshua spoke excellent English and was very well versed in the history of Medillin, sharing interesting stories. We went to Comuna 13, a vibrant must see and he had a thorough understanding of the history and the beautiful murals. We then went to the downtown where he discussed the government buildings and we went inside the former Palace of Justice, now a shopping mall with a very unexpected art gallery and restaurant on the top floor. Later he expertly maneuvered through rush our traffic to bring us back to our VRBO and we all agreed it was an excellent way to understand the city. You should definitely request Joshua!
Camilo was amazing. Knowledgeable and insightful about Medellín history and key city sights
I booked this tour with my partner and we could not have had a better experience. Our tour guide was Joshua and he was a 12/10 tour guide. He picked us up right at the hostel we were staying at - he was informative, professional and very easy-going. He was great with letting us go at our own pace and we spent much of our tour time exploring the “Comuna 13” and the Downtown area. We never made it to the cable cars which was our own decision because we wanted to spend more time at the first two destinations and Joshua was very accommodating. “Comuna 13” was a bustling favela type neighborhood that had plenty of cool things to check out: Bars/Restaurants, Street Food, Street Graffiti, Soccer Field and Joshua gave some insight to the history of the neighborhood as it was “the most dangerous” neighborhood back in the ‘80’s. From there we went to the downtown area where we walked around and Joshua explained some of the more prominent buildings in the downtown area and we did some shopping with the local vendors. He also took us to the “Nacional Palacio” which was their version of a mall but it was a beautiful building with an art museum on the rooftop floor which i would highly recommend checking out. Joshua was also EXTREMELY helpful with helping us haggle on prices in the downtown area as me and my partner were not the best at speaking Spanish. All in all - we had a great time and cannot thank Joshua enough for a great day exploring the city of Medellín!
Camilo Aguirre was patient, attentive and super knowledgeable about his beloved city of Medellin walking me through each of the different neighborhoods and showing me local transportation on cable car and metro. There were great stops for art, coffee and clean bathrooms. Appreciated the excellent tour.
I spent the day with Joshua seeing Medellín the way locals live it. Not just the hits. Real neighborhoods. Markets, side streets, steep hills, and the everyday choreography of how the city works. The cable car was the aha. Picture an amusement‑park gondola that grew up and got a day job. It floats over neighborhoods because the mountains insist on it. Joshua kept us moving and he stitched stories to places so the city felt knowable, not just beautiful.
This tour with Camilo was an incredible adventure and an experience I will always cherish. He was extremely informative.
This is a must do tour! Our guide, Camilo, was so nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I wanted to find a general tour to give us a good understanding of the areas and history of the city. This was the one!! Our favorite part was visiting Comuna 13. Riding the cable car was also a really cool experience. We felt very safe the entire time, and are much more comfortable exploring the city ourselves now. We enjoyed the whole tour, and will recommend it to anyone who is visiting Medellin. Thank you Camilo and Camantours Medellin!
We had a great time in Medellin and Guatapé!Super Service and nice and reliable Guids! Gladly again and only recommended. Muchas Gracias Camilo!
Today I went on a city tour of Medellín with Camilo from Caman Tours, and even though it’s only my second day here, I can already tell this experience will be a highlight of my entire trip. This was my first time ever having a tour guide completely to myself, and it was incredibly enriching. I even woke up late, but Camilo was so patient and kind—he insisted I take time to eat breakfast before we started, which immediately made me feel cared for and at ease. The tour was very affordable, and Camilo was unbelievably generous with his time, energy, and knowledge. He truly acted as a rich and welcoming host to his city. What made this tour exceptional was how personal it felt. Camilo took the time to genuinely get to know me, and it was immediately clear that he deeply understands Medellín—its vibrant culture, complex history, and remarkable transformation. He’s truly a student of history and has an impressive ability to explain not just what you’re seeing, but why it matters. He also helped me draw thoughtful comparisons between cultures and societies, which made the experience even more meaningful and interesting to me. We explored downtown, rode the metro and cable car systems, and visited Comuna 13, whose story of redevelopment and community empowerment is absolutely fascinating and inspiring (a must experience!) This company considers what travelers need to have the best experience possible they care about their hospitality. I cannot recommend Camilo and Caman Tours enough. If you’re looking for an authentic, educational, and heartfelt way to experience Medellín, hiring him will be one of the best decisions you make on your trip!
Carlos gave our group of 4 great private tour In Medellin. He was prompt and knowledgeable about the city and its history. We had only arrived that morning and we were pretty tired but he was as patient with us and very accommodating. We really enjoyed getting to know him and his own personal experiences. I would 100% recommend taking this tour with Carlos.
Near the end of this tour, our group (myself, my wife, and my wife’s sister) was taken into downtown Medellín. This area was a sharp contrast from previous stops and immediately felt unsafe. There was a large homeless population and many young males sitting throughout the area. During this portion of the tour, at least a dozen individuals aggressively approached me asking for money. I repeatedly had to say “no.” At no point did our tour guide intervene or attempt to redirect us away from these encounters. We also walked past very large groups of homeless individuals, including one group of approximately 15–20 people gathered around a street drainage grate tearing through garbage bags. At that moment, I began questioning why we were being routed through this area at all. We were dressed conservatively and intentionally tried not to draw attention to ourselves. We wore no visible jewelry, no necklaces, no bracelets, and no flashy watches. I was only wearing a basic black Casio watch. We had no backpacks. My wife carried a pouch, and my sister-in-law wore a small cross-body bag. Before entering Parque de Bolívar (city park), the guide mentioned that a previous tourist he brought through this same park had been robbed when a group of males snatched the person’s necklace. Despite this warning, we were told not to worry and assured that we would be fine since we did not appear to have valuables. As we walked through Parque de Bolívar, we noticed very few tourists. Most people in the park were younger males sitting around and watching us. My sister-in-law felt uncomfortable enough that she asked the guide if we could avoid walking back through the park after visiting the nearby cathedral. She later explained that the way the individuals in the park were watching us made her uneasy. The guide again assured us that we would be fine. We continued to the end of the park and visited the Catedral Metropolitana de Medellín. I briefly took my phone out to take photos and then placed it back into my rear pocket. Afterward, the guide directed us to walk back through Parque de Bolívar. Near the south end of the park, close to Carrera 49 and Calle 54, a group of people suddenly moved close to me. I did not realize what was happening at the time. Loud noises were made directly in front of me, and I felt a slight bump on my right side. I immediately jumped away, sensing something had just occurred. Approximately 10 seconds later, someone said, “They got your phone.” I checked my pocket and my phone was gone. The individuals involved disappeared immediately. The guide attempted to locate anyone responsible but was unsuccessful. The guide then contacted police. Approximately 8–12 officers responded and escorted us to a nearby police substation located roughly 50 yards from where the incident occurred. The area had a mostly unobstructed view of the location, aside from some vegetation. Unfortunately, the perpetrators were not located, and video footage was not immediately available. The incident occurred inside Parque de Bolívar at the south entrance/exit near Carrera 49 and Calle 54 on Saturday, December 27th, at approximately 5:00–5:30 PM. I was not physically harmed. However, the phone theft was clearly organized and executed extremely quickly using a distraction tactic. I strongly advise future travelers to exercise extreme caution in this area and to seriously reconsider walking through Parque de Bolívar, even as part of a guided tour. I relied on this tour’s high ratings, positive reviews, and the fact that it was offered through Viator, which gave me a false sense of security. My intent in writing this review is to provide awareness so other travelers can make informed decisions regarding their personal safety.
This tour with Camilo was an amazing adventure and an experience we will never forget. My boyfriend and I did not know the city of Medellin would be so beautiful and hold so much history. The tour of Comuma 13 held the most stunning views and murals, you simply must go and request Camilo he was a fantastic guide!
This is a must do tour. A do not miss experience! Medellín is a surprise! Really amazing tour at communa 13, with the views and the experiences but also with the incredible modern history! Also loved the botero square! Our guide, Joshua is a great guy, informative, smiling, friendly, smart, sharp and responsive to all our needs.
We had a fantastic experience with Camantours in Medellín, Colombia. The Medellín City Tour was excellent from start to finish. Our tour guide, Sebastian, was punctual and picked us up right on time from our hotel. He was extremely knowledgeable about his city and shared insightful explanations throughout the tour. Sebastian drove us everywhere comfortably and always made sure we understood what he was explaining, taking the time to answer our questions. We truly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend this tour company to anyone traveling to Medellín, Colombia.
Camilo was an excellent guide for this fantastic walking tour of Medellin. His English is perfect and he was prompt and very friendly throughout the day. His knowledge of Medellin, Colombian culture and Comuna 13 was outstanding. He also encouraged us to ask any questions and provided personal and honest answers. I highly recommend this tour and specifically Camilo.
Camilo was an awesome guide on my solo trip through La Comuna 13 and downtown. Everyone knows him so be prepared to be treated like a local. Transportation was solid; he picked me up from my hotel right on time. His English is very strong and we were able to discuss everything from history to politics to art. I would highly recommend Camilo and would definitely call him my next time to La Ciudad de La Eterna Primavera.
Medellin city tour is a convenient and great way to get acquainted with the cultural history and various neighborhoods of the beautiful & lush city of Medellin. My tour guide Camilo was a true pleasure, and I would highly recommend his services on any tour of Medellin.
We had a woderful tour today with Camilo and found it was the best way to start our visit in Medellin . He was born here, grew up here, and has a long experience as a tour guide. I was glad we did this as a private tour becase we needed flexibility and we wanted to chose our focus, starting with Communa 13. We left a book and water thermos in his comfortable car and he kindly drove them back to the hotel. Very glad we signed up for this one!
My tour guide was excellent. He explained what we saw from the car and what we visited either by walking and during our tram ride. Upon future visits to Medellin I will try to book with him again for future tours
Magnificent Medellin with Joshua, a charismatic and knowledgeable guide. Really enjoying our tour and would recommend to anyone.
