City Tour & Comuna 13

From the moment we met Carlos at our hotel for pickup, we knew this was going to be a great tour — and we were not disappointed! Carlos is extremely personable, engaging, and very fluent in English. He took the time to explain the various aspects of the tour and shared a wealth of information about Medellín and its history. He was always professional as a tour guide, but at the same time, there were many moments when he felt more like a new friend. That personal connection made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I made a slight mistake when booking and only realised during the tour that Comuna 13 was not included. After a brief discussion with Carlos, he was very accommodating and was able to adjust the itinerary so we could include Comuna 13 as well. This gave us the best of both worlds and allowed us to experience all of the comunas included in our day. Overall, it was a fantastic tour and Carlos was an excellent guide — knowledgeable, professional, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with. We had a fantastic day exploring Medellín with Carlos! He was incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of his city. At every stop, he took the time to explain the significance of what we were seeing, answer all of our questions, and make sure we experienced more than just the highlights. Carlos never rushed us and made sure we had plenty of time to take photos, enjoy the views, and soak in the atmosphere. He was professional, punctual, and made our family feel comfortable from the moment he picked us up. We especially appreciated the local insights and stories that you simply wouldn’t get exploring on your own. It felt like spending the day with a proud local friend rather than just a tour guide. Outstanding tour! Took public transport, a gondola to see the city from a far, walked the city center & visited Comonu 13. All was mind opening & visually stimulating. A fabulous area to experience& gained a real understanding of what these people have endured & created in their neighborhoods. Would see it all again

Carlos was amazing. He was nice and took his time when explaining the tour. Please keep in mind this tour is a lot of walking. I would recommend this tour prior to one visiting Guatape. Carlos was patient and even took pictures for us when asked. We would def take this tour again and recommend our friends.

Juan was great. A full day seeing the main cultural and shopping areas then on to Communo 13, all more interesting than expected! But do take your walking shoes. Juan knew so much about the history of Medellin, art and music. Thank you!

We’ve been travelling around South America ( 8 countries ) for the past 6 weeks and this tour was the best by far. Carlos lives and breathes Medellín, he’s one of the locals and knows everyone. His knowledge and enthusiasm is unbelievable! I’m still fascinated by what the city has achieved over the past 15-20 yrs. The transformation from a poor, dirty & dangerous place to a safe, clean & vibrant city is almost overwhelming. I found the infrastructure to all the new transportation options amazing - so orderly and cheap too. The icing on the cake was visiting Comuna 13 - an atmosphere like no other place! Great vibes with music and smiley faces everywhere, you can’t help swinging the hips a little!!

Great guide, great tour operator, great city tour of Medellin. It was our best day in Colombia. and it was not expected to be so.

We scheduled a last minute tour. The company was very easy to chat with and very flexible on WhatsApp. The last available time listed for the tour on TripAdvisor was 3pm. I was concerned that we would see some sights in the dark (sun sets at 6pm.) The company stated we could do an earlier tour at 1pm. That's what we did! The tour guide sent me a photo of his license plate before he arrived at our hotel to pick us up. That was a wonderful safety feature. Our tour guide, Jaime was excellent! He was friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. We came across a circus while walking in the Plaza Botero area, and he didn't mind that we stopped for a few minutes to watch. We were walking by a fruit vendor, and I pointed to a small fruit and asked Jaime what fruit is that. Not only did he answer my question, but also I got to try the fruit! We did/saw a lot on this tour. It is a great tour if you are only have a day or two in MedellÍn. If I could do it again, I would do the city tour separately from the Comuna 13 tour. There is so much to see/do in Comuna 13. My husband and I went back to Comuna 13 on our own a couple of days later to explore more. I enjoyed learning about the murals from Jaime. If I didn't do the tour, I wouldn't know the meaning of the murals. Thank you Jaime for a memorable and an amazing introduction to MedellÍn!

Our tour guide was Juan was great! He was knowledgeable and explained everything in a simple and interesting matter. Felt safe and very comfortable in the car and places we visited. First time in Comuna 13, exceeded my expectations. To transform a place to something so positive while still keeping its own essence, is admirable. Highly recommend!!

The tour covers a lot but the two tour guides Margarita and Danny were amazing they're the best they went out of their way to make sure we we're happy we love everything but comuna 13 is wonderful the music, the restaurants, the people is very nice we really enjoyed the atmosphere.

We took a tour for 4 people, Juan showed himself to be very knowledgeable and receptive to questions. His skillfully weaved the story about Pablo Escobar and its impact on Colombia history and society. He has excellent English. We covered all the important places in the city and finished in commune 13 .

It was not the activity that I booked. The guide knew quite a lot about the subject, but activities that were registered, such as the visit to Nutibara Hill, were not included.

It was exceptional, this city tour. For it allowed me to get to know the metro and metrocable in Medellin. I learned some of the history of the city and then the vibrant life that is on column 13. The guide Carlos was great.

The tour was excellent. I did it with my mom and my 3-year-old son, Juan was my guide, he was very kind and understanding to my son and mom who sometimes had to stop to rest. John explains the whole story very well. I recommend it, it is a very good and complete tour.

We loved visiting commune 13. I recommend them fence comfortable to climb and appreciate one of the best views. During the tour came groups of dances, children working magic, we tried coffee, beers, and new things for our palate. We travel directly from Puerto Rico. We were in commune 13 and saw the whole history of its past and the present so different and beautiful that all the graffiti and its meaning now live.
