We chose this hotel because everyone loved the hotel and we wanted out friend to experience the best of Colombia. Our activities were all taking place near airport also. The breakfast was very good. Omulet station is very popular. Spa was very good. It was actually too busy and we couldnt get the hydro packages for 3 people while we were staying there for 5 nights. Peitai also has very good burgers. Pool bars serve good cocktails. It is almost American prices now that Pesos are strong. The housekeeping wasnt what we expected. One of the shower room was very very moldy. First we thought it was the tile design. I have seen at other showers in Colombia that the moldy shower is very common because they dont have fans. We didnt say any as we dont wan them to come and clean. We had to call for new towels. They just made beds in the morning. They diligently checked the mini bars. They even checked the date(?)on the bottom of beer cans. Maybe to make sure I wasnt replacing the beer? Coffee bags were not replenished. Used coffee cups were not replaced with clean cups. No water bottles were provided. They provided hot water at the lobby. I wish they provided free water bottles. We arrived at midnight and the hotel shuttle came and picked us up. Peacocks were really cool. You only see them in the zoo in US. Localiza car rental place is across the airport road. The hotel staff told us to just walk our way there. We felt very local doing that. They also have bicycles that you can rent.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! LIARS AND THIEVES this staff is! I originally had a 6 week stay and cut it short 2nd week in. The hotel staff tries to take advantage of any customers they think are foreign. I nicely asked for hotel staff to do my laundry and the first time it went smooth, the second time they took 3 DAYS to finally wash it after I asked a hotel staff Julio at 9pm he told me I’d have to wait for next day (4th day of asking at this point) and my laundry would be done at 4pm in my room. I arrive back at hotel at 9pm on the 4th day and my clothes aren’t there. I confront Julio about my clothes and he very obviously doesn’t care and took 40 mins to tell me “it’ll be up in your room in 15 mins”. The next morning I realized my expensive $250 hoodie wasn’t with the rest of my clothes. I called the front desk and said Im missing my hoodie, 5 mins later the staff Joana brings it up with nasty attitude as if it’s my fault and said it was drying (as if it wasn’t dry after 24hrs). But this staff tried to STEAL FROM ME hoping I wouldn’t notice and I’d check out without realizing then they had a free hoodie. My day of check out, I was obviously upset and talked to the staff Julio, after waiting 45 minutes he told me I wouldn’t have to pay the $170 charge from laundry, makes me sign a paper agreeing I’m not gonna pay. 3 days after I check out they charged me $200 for the laundry that I wasn’t supposed to pay. I called and the staff Joana says I have to pay no matter what. I told her I signed the paper with Julio agreeing I’m not paying and she said it doesn’t matter I have to pay even after I explained the situation. This staff service is HORRIBLE they treat you like you are dumb and try sucking any money out of you that they can. I had a lot of patience with this staff after reading good reviews, which is why I didn’t say anything after 2 days of them not washing my clothes, the fact the room was dirty, and also the fact that when I would have my “do not enter” sign on my door they would still walk into my room and when I had “please clean” they would not clean. I would NEVER stay here again and would NOT recommend it even if they offered it for free. HORRIBLE SERVICE, liars and thieves!!!
We loved KUA spa, the restaurant ebano and in general de Movich hotel. What a wonderful spot. We spent the day here before our flight, highly recommended, do the three hour hydrotherapy and massage at the spa! Shout out to Fabian for his great service at the restaurant ebano 😃
We had an amazing dining experience at Ebano after a spa day. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. Fabian was our waiter, and he truly made the evening memorable with his attentiveness, professionalism, and warm personality. His recommendations were excellent, and he made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Evano to anyone looking for a special dining experience.
This is far from a five star or four star hotel. I’ve stayed at Movich Hotel before, and this last visit was a clear step backward. While there are still some positives—check-in was quick and the front desk staff were friendly—the overall experience no longer matches the pricing or the brand’s positioning. This hotel is priced like a luxury property, but it simply doesn’t deliver on that promise anymore. The issues started in the room. The phone didn’t work, which became a real problem later. The TV remote was also non-functional, forcing us to manually turn the TV on and off. Furniture throughout the room felt worn and poorly maintained—wobbly nightstands, aging finishes, and a general sense that upkeep has been neglected. The bathroom door was loud and stuck when opening or closing, and the carpet near the window was wet. That turned out to be from an open window that wouldn’t close properly because it was broken. For a hotel at this price point, these are basic maintenance failures that shouldn’t happen. Dining was another disappointment. The restaurant closes far too early for an airport hotel, which should cater to late arrivals. The room service process was also unnecessarily frustrating—no one explained how to access the menu, which we eventually found via QR code. With the room phone broken, we couldn’t even place an order ourselves and had to flag down a waiter in the hallway. The food, when it finally arrived, was mediocre at best: overcooked salmon with pasta, a club sandwich on plain, untoasted, mushy bread, and cold French fries. The breakfast was ok. There were also smaller but telling issues. At check-in, there was an attempt to upsell to a “better” room by downplaying the one we had —a tactic that felt unnecessary and misplaced given the actual condition of the hotel. In hindsight, it may have been a warning sign. Finally, the hot water never got properly hot—just lukewarm—which adds to the sense that basic standards are slipping. This hotel used to be a reliable, comfortable option, especially for its location. Now, it feels like a property in need of serious attention and reinvestment. Until those issues are addressed, it’s hard to justify the price. 2 out of 5 stars.
