We spent 3 nights here. The positives; we had a luxury room which was very well appointed, if a little tired. The Lodge is well situated for game drives, and has a variety of restaurants. The pools are OK, but lack sufficient loungers. The afternoon tea was a joke. Sufficient food for 8 people, but about 40 in attendance. The staff stared forlornly at the empty sandwich plate, one took a photo but no new supplies arrived. No where near enough crockery, or tea. Either do it properly or don't bother. With a couple of exceptions, the staff were lacklustre and uninterested. Service was slow to non existent in all restaurants, unless part of a large tour operator group. A shame as the location is great, with better management and attention to detail this could be a 5 star resort, we couldn't wait to leave. So many better options in the area.

We spent two wonderful days at Chobe Safari Lodge, and I couldn’t have wished for a better place to celebrate my 60th birthday! The day started with the entire service and kitchen team singing Happy Birthday to me, complete with a lovely cake – such a warm and unforgettable surprise. They had also beautifully decorated our room and my bed, left me a wonderful handwritten card, and surprised me with a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh fruit. In the evening, we enjoyed the Dinner Cruise, which was the perfect ending to a truly special day. The lodge is fantastic, but what really makes it exceptional is the incredibly warm, attentive and thoughtful staff. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay and my 60th birthday so memorable. We loved every moment and would happily come back!
I had a wonderful few days at Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane, and honestly, the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The breakfast was 5-star — a great variety of food, beautifully presented, and everything tasted amazing. Dinner was just as impressive, and what made the evenings even more special was the entertainment. We enjoyed beautiful traditional dances that created such a warm and memorable atmosphere. The afternoon tea followed by the bush walks was another highlight. Being out in nature and experiencing the surroundings was absolutely stunning. It is the kind of experience that reminds you why Kasane is such a special destination. The Explorers Lounge is also beautiful — a perfect place to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and take in the surroundings. I was particularly impressed to see an art exhibition featuring local artists, which added a wonderful cultural touch to the lodge. I really appreciate places that create opportunities to showcase and celebrate local creativity. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a full day of activities. Overall, Chobe Safari Lodge offers a wonderful combination of comfort, nature, food, culture and hospitality. From the food and entertainment to the bush experiences and local art, my stay was truly memorable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Kasane. ❤️🇧🇼
Highlights: The amenities and activities were great. I highly recommend the sunset cruise and game drive. The spa therapist also gave me a wonderful pedicure. The dinner buffet was also a highlight. John's carvery was delicious. And the view of the river is unmatched. Lowlight was the service. I'm not sure if it was because I was a solo guest or perhaps South African (i.e. not European or American) but the service I recieved from some the lodge staff was sub-par: Waiting to be seated breakfast and only being helped AFTER another group showed up - and they were taken to their table first. Having to get up and ask for the hot breakfast menu myself. Having to take my bags to reception myself when the porter I booked never showed - yet the room next door had one taking their bags. All guests are paying the same rates and should be receiving the same level of service - regardless of number or nationality.
The hotel itself was stunning, but we were not happy with the long wait times for meals, the incredible disorganisation and the higher prices than other similar stays we enjoyed. We also could not get a room key that worked over the three days we stayed there, which meant many many trips back and forward to reception to ask for access to the room. We had several bad interactions with some staff who were either very lazy or just asking for money regularly. We did have a great experience with Mary our housekeeper, Onya one of the breakfast staff and Rejoice who were all fantastic.
