My wife & I had been to Boston before separately and never done a guided tour of the Freedom Trail. Our guide, “Dr. John Warren”, did a fantastic job! He educated us & had a good sense of humor. We could never have had the same experience doing it on our own! Definitely recommend!!

Tour and terrain were both perfect. Appropriate for all ages. The length of the tour was perfect. Great information with a little humor added in. ,
It was great. Just the right length of time and information presented quite creatively. Welcomed questions but was clear and concise in his answers.
We really enjoyed this tour! Have to give the credit to our guide, James Otis, who was funny, informative and kept the group together and having fun the entire time. As much as I enjoy a history tour, they can sometimes become boring after some time, but my husband, 21yr old son and I all agreed this is the best one one we've taken thanks to Mr. Otis. Would go again and definitely recommend.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. My daughter learned a lot and enjoyed the nice walk through the freedom trail! We had a great time!
Jeff was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and funny and took his time to explain to a large group. I had a great time and would recommend for friends or families!
It was ok. Guide didn’t project well. Didn’t always use the microphone.
‘Samuel Gray’ aka Jeff… was amazing! We learned so much about the various stops on the Freedom Trail; things we wouldn’t have found out otherwise. He managed our very large group with ease and efficiency! He made sure we could hear him and since we had elementary age kids, that was important to keep their attention. Highly recommend!! Our only negative is that the group was SO large ( best guess 30 people) we had hoped they could have split the group for ease of movement in busy streets and small spaces. Our thought when booking was that group sizes were limited to smaller numbers but that wasn’t our experience.
“Mercy” was great!! Easy to understand and such great information! She was very respectful and patient of my husband who uses a w/c.
My first time to Boston and this tour helped me understand the awesome history it holds. Very doable walking. Lots of good information of the sights we saw. I really enjoyed it.
This is a great opportunity to learn about Bostons history. A family friendly experience. Delighted we done this, learned so much
Meeting point was easy to find despite the crowd. Jeff was our guide. He was super knowledgeable and a wonderful story teller.
It’s a wonderful walk through history and you will learn lots. Guide was very knowledgeable and held our attention
Jeff was a wonderful, knowledgeable and entertaining guide. This tour really brings history to life. It was so easy to book, find and follow!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the freedom trail with Jeff. So interesting to learn about the history of the revolution. Jeff was engaging and entertaining. The tour length was just right and was good value for money.
We never got to go on this tour as our uber never showed. I sent a chat message through Viator to let the them know but never got a response. I called the main number, although the rep was very nice, no refund allowed. We were so disappointed. There were no tours available the rest of the dayI think ours was the last tour.
Guide was fun, very knowledgeable— appreciated that he was a historian. Group was larger than I’d like but he was miked so no problems keeping up
I had a six hour layover in Boston and decided to take this walking tour to get a quick overview of the landmarks and history. So glad I did! Very informative and easy way to get the lay of the land, learn about the historical sites and their significance. Getting to the tour was really easy using the free silver line bus from the airport to South Station. I didn’t realize it at the time, that I could have taken the red line train to downtown. Instead, I walked the 10-15 minutes—but didn’t mind since the weather was nice and I was able to see other parts of the city.
Phyllis Wheatley was our guide in this reverse journey starting at Faneuil Hall. The tour price was perfect, the duration was perfect, and the guide was perfect. Her degree in American History helped her tell the stories with humor and grace. She kept the audience involved with her storytelling. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Easy, entertaining and informative. Our guide portrayed the patriot James Otis, who is credited with the phrase: “Taxation without representation is tyranny!”
We had a great experience on the tour!! Our tour guide, Jonathan, was excellent- friendly, knowledgeable, and funny!! Lots of interesting facts and local lunch spot suggestions were spot on! Highly recommend!!
The tour guide tended to insert his political views. Too much about civil war and slavery instead of the Revolutionary War.
Absolutely loved the very thorough information and walking through the town. The price was good and the length was 90 minutes- perfect. Our guide was funny 😂
You need to be able to walk on uneven sidewalks. It would help if you knew a little bit about our countries history. There will be several tours going on at the same time but the guides are good to keep you together and made sure you could hear their stories..
It was a wonderful experience of historical sites along the Freedom Trail. This is not-to-be-missed while visiting Boston.
Guide was VERY knowledgeable, factual, fun and friendly! Even though he used a cane to assist his walking, he kept us moving and informed! Terrific!
It was well worth it. Our guide was excellent, offering so much knowledge to every stop, allowing for questions and interactions.
Fun informative tour. Lots of jokes inbetween historical facts.
Great walking tour on the Freedom trail. Loved hearing the history that goes along with all the sites. Guide knowledgeable and took time to answer questions and keep everyone engaged.
The tour guide and route were excellent but too many people on one tour time made it hard to hear in many places and to stay together as a family.
I would highly recommend this tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and a history teacher who was very good at keeping our kids (9&13) engaged. He kept a good pace and stopped frequently in shady spots. He lots of interesting details but drone on like some of the other guides we encountered. The 90 minute tour with 11 stops was really a perfect length for us, but if you wanted to see the other 5 sites, the guide gave advice on how to get to those on your own. If you are looking for a shorter version to do with your kids, I recommend this one!
Despite the pouring rain , the tour was a great experience. Our tour guide ( Max) was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared so much interesting history that made the walk well worth it 💕
Took this tour on the 4th, middle of a heat wave and soooo many people! Man, I’m so glad we did!!! Our tour guide was AMAZING!!!! Always trust the teachers to be able to hook the teenagers, along with the rest of us! Great info, just the right length and distance for anyone! Would highly recommend! My hubs walked out with all sorts of good new trivia, Thank you for the time, effort, and not easy work on the 4th!!!
Wonderful tour! We loved our guide, he made everything fun and told us about all the little Places along the trails we would missed.
This tour was fun and very interesting. I’m from the Boston area and wanted to see what I was missing so I decided to see what visitors got to experience. I learned a lot about some of the big players in the American revolution. We probably walked about a mile total during the tour. Zoey was an awesome guide ! Very knowledgeable, friendly, passionate and friendly ! Highly recommended !
It was a great walking tour on the Freedom Trail with Dr. Joseph Warren (Michael)!
Silas was an amazing guide. We learned so much history from many different periods - not just the revolutionary period. We saw over 1/2 of the sights along the trail.
Great tour, knowledgeable guide who ensured everyone completed the tour safely and with lots of interesting facts about the city.
Zoey, our guide, was terrific!! I went with my husband and a friend, both who grew up just outside of Boston. They were amazed to learn so much about places they had been walking by for years. A very fun and educational way to walk around Boston!! Thank you Zoey!!
The stops were good. The guide seemed nervous, easily distracted, couldn’t complete sentence without taking sips of water and kept forgetting where she left off after being distracted. Said she had been doing these tours for 2 years but seemed like her first time. Was hoping for a better experience
Amazing tour guide. Thanks so much
Our Guide “The Towne Crier” was excellent and showed us the most popular sites on the Freedom Trail. He really knew his history and made it entertaining as well. For us the 1-1/2 hour tour was just enough because we had a North End tour right afterward. It started at the Boston Common and ended at Faneuil Hall. It didn’t include going inside anything but that was fine with us for this visit. I learned a lot that I should have known by now. It was a good price for the 1-1/2 hour tour and was worth it. Highly recommend!
Otis Adams did a fantastic job explaining history in a very interesting story. Loved the first person narrative from time to time.
Wear comfortable shoes. Bring water. Please tip your guide, they do a great job! !Make sure to get a piece of babka in the Quincy Market.
Make sure to wear walking shoes. While the distance isn't bad, the roads are uneven. The tour itself is fun.
Very informative. The guide was great. Great way to spend some time in such a beautiful city. Highly recommend
The 90 minute tour was fantastic. Our tour guide did a wonderful job making history entertaining and fun for my 11 & 13 year olds.
Our trip was nothing but exceptional. Our original date was rained out and Don contacted us to pick a time that worked with our schedule. We booked for the first slot next morning. Our guide, Zoe, was phenomenal! Even my 13 year old enjoyed her. Too bad history is not taught with this much passion and enthusiasm in the classrooms. This was the highlight of our trip. Honestly I was bummed when it was over. I wish we had done the extended 4 hour tour. Next time! Make sure you ask for Zoe.
Highly recommend this tour. Zoe was our guide and she was excellent—her genuine love of history really came through!! My daughter and I both loved it.
Excellent tour seeing sites from American history. Full of lots of information and awesome to see the sites that go with it. Easy walking - highly recommend
