Salem Dark History Tour

We had the most amazing tour with Sebastian. He was a wonderful story teller keeping you engaged and entertained throughout the whole time. I’m in no way a historian, my eyes tend to glaze over when times and dates start being thrown around, but he kept it so intriguing that I was held enraptured by the historical events, his theories on the facts of what took place, and was able to put things into a modern day perspective so we could get a greater understanding of the events.

While ryan was very knowledgeable about salems rich history, more importantly he kept us engaged the entire time. We over heard other tours and I am quite certain we would not have lasted the entire walk. The culmination of understanding of this town and his personality had a group of 50+ captivated for almost two hours.

The tour was the perfect mix of history and fun. Highly recommend doing this tour next time you are in Salem!

This was my first time visiting Salem, and taking this night tour was one of the highlights of my trip. Bobby was a fantastic guide! He was super knowledgeable, entertaining, funny, and very personable. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, which made the experience even better. I learned so much while still having fun, and the tour gave me exactly the kind of introduction to Salem I was hoping for. If you’re visiting for the first time, I highly recommend this tour. I’m already looking forward to coming back to Salem someday and experiencing it all again!

Loved the humor. How she adjusted to the age group. Gave a lot of information without making it a monologue or script. Kept me engaged. Best of all loved that I could keep up even with my hurt ankle. We only had a day to visit and the tour gave me a weekend trip.

This is our 3rd visit (also 3rd ghost tour) to Salem and we had the absolute pleasure of having Penny as our guide. She brought such an effervescent energy as well as deep knowledge and reverence of the history. We have booked a different tour each time and have learned something new and interesting with each guide. Penny is exactly as advertised, "shiny as a penny", and we are extremely grateful to have met this wonderful person! Great tour in a great city!

If you want to give your money to a good person, don't go there. The owner owns at least 2 shops and the tour experience, and he clearly loves and respect only himself. Prices are so high, but not as high as his ego and disrespects of his clients.

Penh was great very knowledgeable and fun. Witty and since of levity for the history. Learned something new about a spiteful church.

Raymond was our tour guide and he was excellent. He was knowledgeable, funny and very personable. Highly enjoyed this experience and highly recommend. On a side note the owner of this tour went out of his way to help a debacle of a tour next door that my husband and I were going to when there was an issue with the tour guide as soon as the tour started. Even though we weren’t going on his tour he still stepped in and helped the group with that situation. Great owner and great guides.

My husband and I took the walking ghost tour together. We really loved it. We loved seeing the beautiful town and hearing all the history. Our tour guide, Scott, was funny and super knowledgeable. High recommend!

This company was very helpful on the phone and even with giving me advice about other things to do in Salem, but the tour was not kid friendly or interactive as expected. It was probably the tour guide we had, who had a specialty in pirate history, but even the adults were bored. Spent a long time at each stop and was repetitive. The guide was not interactive and very dry in my opinion. I had higher expectations because I did a lot of research and read so many reviews and finally chose this company. I specifically asked if it was kid friendly. We actually left the tour halfway through and walked through Salem.

First of all we did enjoy our walking tour of Salem with Penelope. She was both entertaining and knowledgeable. The issue we had was the ticket, we were told if we didn’t get them ahead of time they would sell out, so we purchased them for 30 dollars a piece not including taxes and “fees”, when we arrived at the pick upspot, they were being sold for 20$ each. That is a crazy difference, when we asked about this they said it was due to online fees… a couple dollars I can understand but over 10$ per ticket was a rip off. My advice is to NOT buy them online.

About an hour long. Crowded this time of year, so a lot of competing tours talking over one another. Still, fun time and interesting stories. And all tours seem to focus on different things. I would recommend the night tours to enhance the experience

A GREAT tour! A perfect mix of history and ghosts. Elaina is FANTASTIC! She is both entertaining as well as educational. It's easy to see she has a passion for what she does. She spoke clearly and distinctly and could be heard by all - despite her portable microphone malfunctioning early in the tour. She led us on about 6-7 stops over a two hour period. She had in-depth and entertaining stories and lots of history at every stop. We leaned things about Salem and some of its earlier citizens, the lives they lived - and why their spirits may still be with us hundreds of years later. She is full of information about early Salem that you wouldn't normally hear or know about. Her night tour was the highlight of our trip to Salem.

This is a must if you’re visiting Salem! Sebastian was our tour guide and he is not only passionate about his knowledge of Salem’s history but also a very talent story teller.

Booked this tour thru get your guide app. Loved the tour. We had Elaina and she was great, very entertaining and lots of cool stories. Only complaint would be alot of standing in one place at each stop but minor. Great history learned thank you

This tour was AMAZING! Our guide was interesting, easy to hear, and super funny. I brought two teenage girls who were extremely engaged and raved about it afterward.

Nearby parking is usually free at night. The tour guide was excellent and provided detailed historical information on the walking tour as well as Salem's haunted places.

Excellent trip. Very informative and the Tour guy was very funny and nice. You learn a lot about the history of MA and it will surprise when you learn the truth about witches in Salem.

Ben was our tour guide and he was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Not only was he entertaining but he was so informative…really knew his stuff. Every corner, every street, every stop was a new backstory filled with spooky details. The 2 hour tour was THE BEST money I’ve ever spent. Cannot recommend this tour and Ben enough. It was the perfect end to my Salem trip.

April was our tour guide; she was friendly but a little too all over the place. We left mid tour bc it was just too much talking, very few sights to see. We were stopped for 20 minutes at a time. We saw more on our own tour

Davey did a great job!! We really enjoyed his stories and keeping us away from the crowds and big groups.

We thoroughly enjoyed our daytime, historically focused walking tour led by Davy. He was articulate and well-versed in the history of Salem and the so-called witch trials. We specifically chose the less dramatic and more factual day tour and he did not disappoint. Our only downer was to hear the tour operator was discontinuing the historical day tours in favor of the more “ghosty “ tours, likely with less factual information.

Bobby K was a great tour guide!! He was very knowledgeable and funny! It was cold and windy out but he kept us moving and laughing along the tour! He gave us a lot of great facts and stories about Salem! Definitely recommend to all!!

This tour was a great way to understand the history of Salem while seeing sites in real time. This is perfect for those looking to understand the history of the witch trials and then some. Bobby was our tour guide and made it super fun and light - he hit everything we were hoping to hear and loved having him as a guide!

On the tour, we spent 85% of the time in the first location. Rushed through the next two locations. Tour Guide had several inaccuracies. Definitely wouldn’t do this one again
