This is our second day tour with Boston Hidden Gems. We are able to work with them on a private tour primarily because a family member uses a small push wheelchair and/or a rollator walker. We go at a slower pace and it works great. We also, along with the Boston Gem staff, are able to plan the very best of what we want to see. The owners are gracious, informative, and are highly dedicated to their business.
Informative, adaptable, friendly, conscientious, fun, delightful and prompt. I am describing our tour guide-Jenny. Jenny made our tour of Salem and Boston a great adventure with her knowledge of each city, including the little anodotes of the houses plaques, structure's features, historical or made to appear so and origin of phrases, etc. She arrived promptly to pick up 6 senior adults in a van and throughout the day was very conscientious about everyone's safety. Easily accomodated our request with a change or two as we became tired throughout the day. HIGHLY recommend this tour and if possible Jenny as your guide.
Our tour guide was Jenny, and she was The Best! She knew how to keep adults AND teens enjoying the tour, and was kind and warm. She knew her history and was a great story teller AND driver. It’s a great tour when you just want to hit the Boston highlights. I highly recommend!
We often book private day trips because they maximize flexibility. In this case rain and walking endurance required some changes but it all worked out to provide a good overview of Salem and an intro to the freedom trail in Boston.
Jenny was absolutely amazing. My mom has a hard time walking and Jenny pretty much turned Salem into a driving tour for her. Making sure she didn’t miss any of the stops or stories. When we told her of the things we’ve already seen in Boston or the other tour we were doing she rearranged the Boston portion with stops she knew we wouldn’t have gotten to see. This was an incredible tour for us and Jenny was just remarkable.
Alexandria was phenomenal! Great day with great knowledge and fun stories! She was kind and helpful. We packed so much in one day!
Great day exploring Salem and Boston. Our guide was knowledgeable and had great stories. She was kind and considerate and respectful of the history.
Jenny was extremely knowledgeable and just a really friendly and pleasant person. We were very lucky to have her as a guide, from not only her knowledge of historical facts but suggestions for things to do and see. It really felt like a friend taking us around the sites and she was able to drive to an area (Cambridge) that my daughter requested. I highly recommend this tour and hope that you get Jenny as a guide!
Best shore excursion of a bucket list item to visit Salem! Maria was exceptional and very knowledgeable at guiding us via a walking tour of Salem and of all of the planned places we wanted to visit and more. (Bewitched, Salem witch trials /memorials, cemetery , Hocus-pocus sites) Also time for a little shopping, pick up and drop off at cruise port was perfect and on time! We also had time to drive by sites in Boston for quick pictures. hey, another booking with Boston Hidden Gems Maria in the future! Highly recommended and appreciated how fun , friendly and on time Maria was with our tour.
Alexandria was professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant. She adjusted the schedule to meet our requests. Well done!
Terrific day in Salem learning of the history of the town as well as the witch trials with detailed, in depth information. Our guide, Jenny, was engaging, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. We could modify to suit our preferences throughout the day since it was a private tour (husband had difficulty walking as the day progressed, so Jenny accommodated the itinerary to make him comfortable). Great communication from the tour company from the time we booked months ago through the day of. Very convenient pick up and drop off at the cruise port. Would definitely book with them again.
What a wonderful tour! Alexandria was a gem! Super personable, friendly and full of excellent information! Loved all the local history and stories of the area. Many we had never heard. Salem was very interesting and Boston is fantastic! Highly recommend this tour and Alexandria!
We had an amazing time with Alexandria. She is incredibly engaging and a great story teller. We learned so much about Salem and Boston. She had so much interesting information about the witch trials in Salem, both my kids and I loved how interesting she made the information sound. Also while in Salem, we managed to go in to a super cool shop called Professor Spindlewink’s World of Wizardry, where we got kids cool wands and did a fantasy magic adventure. It was super fun and Alexandria was nice enough to join us. From there we went to the Boston Public Market and had the most delicious food recommended by Alexandria - Red’s Best for clam chowder and Beantown Pastrami Company for pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. Afterwards she met us and took us to North End and gave us a lot of history and interesting information. We asked her for a cannoli recommendation and once again she didn’t disappoint - we had the best cannoli from Bova’s bakery. Our tour then continued with a drive through the city and ended when she dropped us off at the airport. It was a really awesome full day tour!

Jennifer’s knowledge on events and people was interesting and amazing, as was her flexibility to adapt to what we wanted. We enjoyed her stories. Her voice and personality are perfect for this job. She made our trip to Boston. I highly recommend this trip to Boston and Salem in one day, it goes by so fast.
Our family had a great time with this experience. We learned and enjoyed an unforgettable visit thru Boston and Salem. Definitely recommend Ms. Maria as your tour guide; she is very knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. Thanks!

Alex took us to Salem and then we did some Boston highlights. She was so knowledgeable and flexible with our schedule. It was such a great experience to have Alex as our guide! A very pleasant and educational tour!
Loved this tour with Alexandria in Salem and Boston. She was very knowledgeable and kind enough to tailor our tour to see the more important things on our list. Highly recommend if you’re interested in the history behind Salem.
We truly enjoyed our Salem and Boston private tour with Alexandria. She was amazing and went out of her way to keep the adults and our 13 year old engaged. I would highly recommend this tour and guide!
Alex was very knowledgeable of the history in Salem and Boston. She was very accommodating and took us by a few things that was not on the tour that we asked about. She even took photos for us. Highly recommend her.
Jenny was absolutely amazing. Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. Please go on any tour with hidden gem. So much information but so many good stories.
Maria was a fab tour guide. Really made the tour so interesting. Easy to listen to the stories too. Would def recommend her. Took us to Salem which was amazing and then a different take to Boston rather than the freedom trail as we had already done most of that. So very enjoyable
Maria was fantastic! She adapted the tour to take in all of our interests. Her explanation of the history was sprinkled with little known items that were surprising and funny. A great storyteller and throughly knowledgeable about both Boston and Salem. Great tour for the first day visiting Boston!
Very good attention to every detail. Excellent explanation and appropriate timing for each activity on the tour. I had two children aged 10 and 11, and they had a great time; they learned and did not get tired of the tour.
