Jake led our tour and he was very enthusiastic and gave us a fantastic insight into the history and life at MIT. He told us about previous alumni where we learnt about the Smoot measurement and some of the MIT student hacks that have taken place over the years. Be sure to ask your guide about the hacks on the Great Dome and the Green Building! The campus is so impressive, right on the River Charles. This is well worth a visit, especially if you have children who are interested in attending MIT one day. Our son was blown away and it is now his first choice of University!!

Lily was a really good guide!. We walk around the campus and learn.
Jake was an amazing tour guide!!! He was very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions! Jake was engaging and kept the tour interesting! Definitely worth the money! Meet up spot was a bit confusing as the instructions said look for a straw hat and no one was wearing one.
Even though the description said that this is going to be a MIT student Lead tour, our tour was actually given by a Harvard-student. Even though the person did a great job not being the MIT student, however, the description was misleading. If I was interested in Harvard.I would’ve taken the Harvard tour instead. Maybe that is the reason why we were not really taken inside the buildings like the library or otherwise that I would have expected out of this tour. I think we only went in one building that was public access anyway. The only reason I booked this tour was due to the availability when I needed it. Otherwise this tour does not offer anything special that the free Uni tours will include.
Jake was excellent and very informative! We learned so much about the campus and the curriculum. He was very engaging.
Jake was an excellent guide, with an easy, clear & friendly manner. As well as the campus tour, Jake gave us a real insight into student life at MIT. A thoroughly enjoyable tour.
Very educational tour. Whenever you do it ask for the Smoot measurement
The MIT guide was outstanding and the tour was fun and informative. The guide gave us lots of fun facts and stories about the school and being a student. I highly recommend this tour - it's not just for potential future students.
Took a walking tour of MIT and Harvard in May, had a great time. Guide was extremely friendly, knowledgable. Would highly recommend tour to anyone.
We got a very informative tour with our guide, Shaykh (sp?). It was so interesting to learn about MITs history and understand the culture. Shaykh gave us a great view of what being a student at MIT is like which is why we selected this student-lead tour. This is definitely worth doing!
Jake was a well prepared concise and clear guide. While the history of any school could be dull, Jake interjected several humorous stories regarding campus life that kept the tour light, fun, and informative. He answered the questions like a pro and seemed genuinely in love with sharing the successes of the school. The meeting place was well explained. The chairs a plus. I would highly recommend this tour with Jake.
Shaikh is an amazing guide. She walked us around campus and filled us in on everything from the history of MIT, student life, class load, and even some fun trivia. She was accommodating of ones in our group with ADA needs. 10/10. Would recommend.
Very informative tour. Our tour guide Sheikh, an MIT student, did a great job and made the tour a pleasure.
Diego was a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable, very friendly, and made it genuinely a very pleasant experience despite the pretty gross weather. If I had to get a little nit picky I would have loved if the tour took us through some of the buildings rather than just outside of them but overall great tour! Thanks Diego!
W guide, pretty good. Liked every part of it, answered all the questions we had
Our guide was very informative and patient. We enjoyed seeing all of the campus art exhibits and hearing about the history of MIT.
We had a great tour with our guide Lily, who dedicated a lot of time and dedication to guide us. Although it was a very sunny and hot day, she used the spots in the shadows to talk about MIT and was very respectful to the group. Although she is a Harvard-student, she is very knowledgable about MIT and its student life. I can highly recommend her and the tour that she gave. She can also give you great recommendations for other spots to visit!
Great experience! We were able to see classrooms and the lab areas of MIT!
This was a fantastic tour. Our guide, Austin, was informative, enthusiastic, and full of stories and information. We walked through and around a variety of campus buildings, including some of the classrooms, labs, and creative spaces. It's a big campus, but we saw a lot in the approximately 90 minute tour. The tour was easy to find, and Austin was great.
It is a fantastic experience to visit MIT and we luckily had a very amazing tour guide. Highly recommended if one visits Boston Area.
Overview of history, buildings and laboratories combined with funny stories while walking through the campus. Very entertaining and interesting.
Our tour guide was great but this tour was way overbooked. Tours should not be this large—I think we had 40+ ppl. No one could hear anything, it was cumbersome to get around, and I felt we spent more time trying to navigate and figure out how to position ourselves to hear the guide vs actually taking in the tour. Please stop overbooking your tours. It’s not fair to the tour guides or to the visitors.
The tour was even better than I’ve imagined it’d be. We get to actually enter the MIT building and see its labs and classrooms. The guide, Austin, was great and gave us so many interesting infos. I recommend it 100%.
Free education, under certain conditions of course, is amazing for smart kids who do not have the financial means! Kudos for that! Maybe that was intentional, but the classes we visited were so outdated, they threw me back in 90s when I was teaching in university in one of eastern Europe countries. What shocked me was the guide's feedback on AI being useless, given all the AI courses advertised by MIT, kind of making you wonder if teaching is easier than implementing? Overall a nice experience.
My youngest son is 12 and all he had talked about was going to MIT when he graduates. We took a trip from Alabama and decided to make this one of our stops. Our guide was awesome. He was very thorough and answered questions eagerly to those who asked. He gave my son a little more to strive for.
Highly recommend… worth of money …………. Very good for high school students …. Anyone who appreciates technology … Even it is snow .. it is good, as most of them are inside tunnel walk connecting through out the campus
We had a tour with Sebastian. Such a lovely and knowledgeable folk. He answered all the questions happily and was patient with everyone. We had a great tour. As a whole, the team was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable: from booking, the tour, answering the questions and a lot more. My two children, my wife and I learned and loved it a lot.
Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable: from booking to the tour to the answering questions and a lot more. My two and us learned and enjoyed a lot.
The MIT Tour was informative and enjoyable. Unfortunately sometimes hard to hear the guide. Mostly tour of outside buildings with limited access inside. Great overview.
Inside view MIT and history of buildings Relevant for people outside USA and with affinity with tech
Excellent tour. Reuben was an engaging tour guide. Loved seeing the insides of buildings and classrooms and hearing everything from a student perspective. My husband and I plan to retire in a few years, so we’re not college age at all, but at the end of the tour we thought - we should get a degree from MIT in retirement lol. Inspiring tour.
The tour guide did not arrive and the tour did not happen. No one talked to us about getting a refund.
Tour was largely about student activities and experiences. Enjoyed hearing about MIT contributions to science and humanity. Tour guide included personal anecdotes as well
Austin was awesome. Loved his insider views on campus locations. Unlike Harvard, MITs buildings are mostly open to explore. Loved seeing the interior spaces.
Thanks to our tour guide Luke, this tour was an amazing experience and an absolute must-do for any nerd visiting Boston. While walking across the MIT campus, we were told not only about the rich history, but also "hacks," elaborate pranks executed by students, which made the tour far from boring.
Nate is amazing guide, interesting, passioned person. He showed classes, labs and campus with deep and funny stories. Highly recommend! Thank you, Nate.
Austin was extremely knowledgeable about MIT and he did a wonderful job. He took us to so many cool places and shared so much history; it was the highlight of our trip to Boston. Would recommend to anyone!
Very informative tour of the history and campus! Austin (Our tour guide) knew countless facts about MIT and did a great job of answering questions.
…with our guide Austin. He was nice, funny and full of knowledge and really made our day! 80 min tour, 0 min bored! Highly recommended
Excellent tour of MIT. Lots of fun background info included. Our guide, Luke, was fantastic. Sometimes these tours can feel so long but this one was just the right length.
Very informative. Our tour guide (Austin) was excellent and gave a lot of details about the school that we never knew. I would highly recommend this tour.
Great experience, funny, interactive, informative. Highly recommended to get a general overview of the MIT history and buildings
MIT is something special and the guide was the perfect fit. He really let you feel the MIT Vibe. What it takes to be part of MIT and the history of the University. A must visit to give you a feeling of what it is that make MIT so special. The guide himself was so enthusiastic about all the studies and gave so much insight that he makes you want to attend MIT.
We really enjoyed the tour to Harvard with our guide Jonathan! We really liked getting to know the history behind the university.
We hacks a wonderful tour with Nate. He was very engaging, answered all our questions and gave a nice all rounded view into MIT campus life, admission and academic process highlighting some grate achievements happens in MIt and with uts alumni
Our tour guide was amazing. His name was Ruben, he was funny, informative, and energetic. We learned so much during our tour and my son got inspired and now talking about going to MIT when he grows up. Definitely recommend this tour if you are going to Boston
Visit was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and energetic. Very interesting and informative. I highly recommend
Rueben did an excellent job of giving us a tour around the MIT campus, sharing its history, its close relationships with the medical, technological, and scientific communities. Rueben was very informative and we learned a lot about the many contributions MIT has made to society. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to get a closer look into this university.
Chris was great. Very good information. It was a very hot day though. Be ready to walk a lot along with hat, sunglasses and Water.
