today was my first tour with action. ive used other similar apps for the self-guided audio driving tours and i really enjoy these types of tours in my own car on my own time. i did the lexington and concord driving tour today. i chose this tour through action because their website advertised some specific spots i wanted to go to. once the tour finished i realized two of the stops on the itinerary i wanted to see most were missed entirely...authors ridge and walden pond. a few other places on the itinerary were also missed. i had to drive back to authors ridge from the end of the tour, that took almost twenty minutes. unfortunately due to that i didnt have enough time to go to walden pond. they need to fix this and include all the advertised stops in the tour and in the driving directions. very disappointing. what was included in the tour was great, but unfortunately not getting brought to two of the places i was most excited to see kinda ruined the whole experience for me

Itinerary
Your tour of Lexington and Concord begins at the North Bridge Visitor Center. From here, you'll follow the course of this historic battle, stopping at key points and hearing in detail how it all played out. It's history brough to life! Note: The tour is over 8 miles long, with more than 29 audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
Not all the landmarks in Lexington and Concord date back to the Revolutionary War. It has also been home to famous authors like Ralph Waldo Emerson, whose home still stands today.
This unassuming patch of land was the site of a disastrous turn of events for the British. Multiple American militias had a clear bead on this spot and opened fire as the British passed through, inflicting heavy casualties.
The Wayside, built-in 1700, became home to several of these famous figures. The Alcotts bought the house in 1845, naming it Hillside. The experiences of the Alcott sisters in the home were later written into her classic Little Women.
This 1650 house is where Alcott wrote Little Women in 1868. At Orchard house, you can learn about Louisa May and the rest of her family, who were known for their commitments to abolition, women’s suffrage, and social reform.
Many famous authors lived in Concord, and several found their final resting place here in Authors Ridge. Thoreau, Alcott family members, Emerson, Nathaniel, and Sophie Hawthorne, and others are buried there.
Here in the Lexington Common is where the British fired the first shots of the battle. Little did they know they were kicking off a string of events which would lead to an embarrassing defeat here and a protracted war they would eventually lose. The tour concludes here, but there are more optional stops if you want to keep the adventure going.
This museum’s collection explores the area’s revolutionary and literary history. If you want to learn more about the town and see some unique artifacts, be sure to stop by!
The Battles of Lexington and Concord left 73 British dead and 174 wounded. 49 Americans died and 39 were wounded. But the aftershocks of the battle went far deeper than that. The American victory was all the proof the colonists needed that they could win a war against Britain.
Just ahead on the left is what remains of the home of Ephriam and Elizabeth’s son Samuel. Samuel was a sergeant in the Lincoln Minute Men on April 19 and saw action up to and down the road. His wife Mary is said to have helped bury dead British soldiers.
This is the site where Paul Revere was captured during his fateful Midnight Ride. Here, you'll revisit the full story of Revere's heroism and how his actions helped the Americans emerge victorious in Lexington and Concord.
At the far end of the visitor’s center parking lot is a path leading to Battle Road Trail, which runs the length of Minute Man park. It follows what remains of the original Bay Road, which is the route the British took to Concord and back. It passes many historic sites.
Just a mile outside of town, off Walden Street, is another site of literary history -- Walden Pond. This is where Thoreau lived for two years beginning in 1845, in a cabin he built, collecting his thoughts for his 1854 classic on self-reliance, Walden, or Life in the Woods.

Reviews
It was clear, engaging, and educational.
It was well done; informative and easy to follow with options for walking and/or driving. However, if you are walking and you’re not using earbuds, the speaker on your phone can be distracting to other people not participating in your tour.
It combines a bit of walking and driving and does a good job of knowing where you are and giving you information about the site. The information is interesting and does a great job of helping you understand what took place and where.
Great Audio guide, part driving part walkingf but always interesting information. Very precise instructions. I suggest taking an airpod with you for when you are walking
This was enjoyable & easy enough use - these tours always have a little bit of troubleshooting to do so just plan on that with time - it definitely helped us enjoy our time here more
This is an excellent and easy audio tour to use for Concord and Lexington. As you drive the car, the audio tour automatically picks up. We had absolutely no problems running the tour. I believe this is really the only way to see these two cities. There are places to get out and walk around and use the tour with earphones. There are also alternative sites that you can add to make the tour more extensive. We got out and toured many of the homes along the route that are mentioned in the tour. Do not hesitate to use this tour.
It was hard to use. Too many steps to sign up, download app, do this, do that, blah blah. It was not flexible for starting at Lexington. I derived only frustration- no benefit - I gave up on it.
It was confusing at first, because the app did not say where to start or where the road was that had the stops on it. We went to Lexington and then we figured out we had to start at Concord then Lexington and then onto Boston. Once we did that it was amazing!
The audio guide was good. The best part was that it automatically started based on your location. The only problem we had was that if you were driving the speed limit, some of the audio would cut off for sites as the app transitioned to the next one.
Route is to follow, good information. This is a combination of driving and walking, but mostly driving.
Great way to experience the history, historically significant and very beautiful say the same time. Highly recommended
Clear informative instructions for the driving and walking. Took that part of the worry out of the experience so we could enjoy the history lessons Highly recommend!!
Check the website for the stops on the tour. They were closed when we went in late March. Being able to repeat audio is nice.
It’s a lovely historical tour, perfect for those who don’t have a ton of time, or cannot walk very far. But if you want to pause and go into major historical sites or do a lot of walking this tour allows for that too. It automatically plays commentary when you arrive at key locations. It suggests the best route and the narration is seamless.
Loved the explanations during the tour. Also like the ability to listen areas where we were unable to walk to locations.
A great concept & a good tour. My only real complaint is I would’ve preferred the map was full screen to make navigation a little easier.
We enjoyed this informative tour exit we took at our own pace. We had the time to explore the additional options. We liked that we could drive and listen to all the historic facts and we could stop the visit the sites. Because of the visitor centres are under federal management, they were closed so we couldn’t park there or visit them. I wish there was a way for us to get notified on this when we booked the tour. Despite this we all enjoyed the tour and will stay memorable for both us and the kids.
Had a couple of hours before our flight out of Boston. Enjoyed learning more about American history without the stress of a time commitment
Everything about Concord is charming. We saw the homes of Louisa May Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson, the Minuteman statue at North Bridge, and the vibrant downtown. But the highlight was the Concord Museum with it's map showing the full battle and troop movements of both sides along with a minute by minute timeline. The rest of the museum held so much information on the Revolutionary War, the men and women of Concord who were active in the Rebellion, and the detailed glimpses of life in those times. The museum has been voted "The Best Small Town Museum in the US" by USA Tody. We agreed whole heartedly.
The app had a lot of information but it "frooze" multiple times. Lost sound once and had to reboot my phone, other times it "froze" while giving driving directions. A little irritating when you have to stop and fix it.
Audio tour worked well for all three of us! Did a combination of the walking and driving portions. We spent about 3 hours using the tour app. This nicely supplemented our visit to the Concord/Lexington area.
Enjoyed a walking/driving history lesson with flexibility to go at our own pace. Liked the bonus stories offered during the tour.
Very boring. The tape did not work well. It would give information that did not correspond with the current location. This made it very confusing. On a few occasions it match tape to building.
Rental car audio a little challenging, but doable... definitely cheaper than other tours. Blah, blah, blah.... ... . ..............
We used it as an overview of area highlights and things we wanted to go back to for more time. Lovely drive in the summertime. It was overcast and quite humid so we limited the walking somewhat.
Great experience. Perfect length. Needs to be updated. All of the sites were open and tour said they were closed. Overall, well done
We used this auto app in conjuntion with the NPS app to gain more information as we traveled along MA 2A to see the sites at Lexington and Concord. It worked beautifully, but we found that traffic along 2A was heavy and pushing us to go faster than we really wanted to. At times, we missed the ending of one description because the next description began at the next point of interest. Ultimately, we just pulled over a lot to hear all that was said. The information was good, though it implied that Gen Thomas Gage was actually leading the battles, rather than his officers Smith, Pitcairn, and Percy.
Due to some sights being closed, there was only one part of the tour that involved any walking, and that was at the very beginning - to see the North Bridge. So was quirky - kept replaying parts previously heard. There was less content than I had expected.
I liked splitting the time between walking and driving. I liked all the stories with the background information.
I was sad that the path to the bridge was closed for renovations, but I enjoyed the drive and narrative.
This tour was a very easy way to experience the battle road. I would highly recommend this format over an in person tour as the narrator is top notch and you can move at your own speed and take breaks if you want to.
The driving and audio tour worked really well. However, the minuteman National Park is doing a lot of renovations for the 2026 independence anniversary. We could not access about 3 of the sites and you could see many of the homes along the route being worked on.
Absolutely fantastic! We loved that we could drive most of this and stop/get out and see more as we wanted to. Don’t sleep on Orchard House - Louisa May Alcott’s home - that was one of our favorite stops!
Overall it was a good experience. The main issue is that it is hard to do with traffic and speed limits, which can take away from the experience.
Very difficult to get working- even with an IT person helping. Directions for both walking and driving difficult to follow. Not many back stories.
The directions in many cases was non existent. We had to stop and look for places with Google maps. Not easy because we were not familiar with the area. Stories were very informative. We did not do the walking parts, more than expected.
This was an excellent audio tour. We only had a couple hours, so really appreciated this tour. The directions were excellent and it was enjoyable to listen to. Easy to navigate as well!!!
Had a great time, moved at our own pace, and the app and the download worked fine. This was nice to do with kids so we moved quickly and they weren't bored.
This tour was well done. It took us a bit to figure out where to start, but once we got going, it was informative and thorough. Driving in our own car listening to the program over our sound system was much simpler than taking a bus tour from Boston or hiring and indivudual guide.
Spotty internet access in the Concord location rendered the GPS element of the app practically useless. Disappointing, but we made our own way.
We enjoyed this driving & walking audio tour - very cool how it used your location to sync the right bit of the story! We explored and saw a lot of notable spots in Concord, which we found very charming. Great purchase!
Did this tour with my two teenage girls and we had a great time. Fun adventure for a girls weekend. With the visitor center at the North Bridge closed, it was nice to have some narrative.
The history was accurate and other than getting lost once it was a fun drive. The narration started automatically when we reached the points of interest. We did not expect this degree of automation and were pleasantly surprised. We did not have to keep our speed constant and could stop whenever we wanted without worrying about missing something.
Excellent information provided but the GPS directions were spotty at best. Missed a few turns and seemed to wonder if we were heading in the right direction. Still got a lot out of the information provided but to be a great experience the navigation function needs to be improved.
What a fantastic way to see and hear the history of Lexington and Concord! My husband and I absolutely loved it! It was like being on a treasure hunt looking for places to find. What an ingenious way to travel about at our leisure and see the historic sites! We highly recommend Stories with Action!
Excellent! We loved using this app for our trip. It was so informative! Great to travel along and listen to. Definitely recommend!
We decided to head to Concord and Lexington at the last minute, so we had not quite a full day there, and no time to book a tour with a group. This was a great alternative! We were able to learn a bit about the route from North Bridge to Lexington, and were able to get some hiking in as well. I loved the flexibility this offered - we took the day at our own pace, walked the trails as far as we wanted to walk, and we were able to grab lunch in the middle of it. I would have liked to hear more about the people involved and the homes we saw, but overall this was a great way to spend our short day in the area.
I paid for this, downloaded the app, got myself to the center of Concord, attempted to open the tour, and after multiple tries, gave up. I'll be requesting a refund next. If I can get a response.
We had hoped to get out of the car more, but it was a rainy day. So, in many ways, this tour was perfect for the day we had planned to drive from Concord to Lexington. As indicated, we started at the Old North Bridge and did go into the Visitor's Center and walked out to the bridge. A National Park Ranger was there to give us the history of the battle that started the Revolutionary War. After the museum, we got back in the car and used this audio tour to interpret what we were seeing. We pulled off the road as often as indicated, but due to the weather, did not get out to take the walks suggested. We got out to visit the Lexington Visitors Center and Buckman Tavern, both highly recommended! Suggestion: The next update of the audio tour could have auxiliary recordings to use in case of bad weather.
