It was wonderful to physically see the stomping grounds of the American revolution in person. Nabil did a fantastic job weaving together a story through the entire trail and sharing tidbits that we didn’t know (or forgot) about American history. Our friends encouraged us to do a freedom trail tour and we would definitely recommend to others!

Itinerary
Meet your guide outside the entrance to the Boston Public Market building. Do not go inside the market. Your guide will be waiting outside the entrance on Blackstone Street, under the large glass awning beside the bus stop. If you're standing at the entrance to Boston Public Market and can see the Rose Kennedy Greenway across the street, you're in the right place
Your tour starts at Faneuil Hall, where you'll learn about the revolutionaries who first pushed for independence from Great Britain.
From Faneuil Hall, you’ll be able to see Custom House Tower, the first skyscraper built in the city of Boston and originally the location where incoming goods were stored upon arrival to Boston.
You can't visit Boston without learning about the Boston Tea Party. At this former church, hear how Bostonians planned their 1773 act of rebellion and who said "No taxation without representation!
Next, we'll pass the site of Boston's first bookstore, home to publishers of Thoreau’s Walden, Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, and Longfellow’s Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.
This hall housed the city council and America’s first public school. Admire its stunning French architecture and snap a photo with the Bronze Donkey.
Next, you'll walk through Downtown Crossing, pass Old City Hall, and visit King’s Chapel. If lucky, you might hear the organist on the oldest church organ in the US.
Continuing on, you'll stop at the Old State House, where the Declaration of Independence was announced in 1776. Your guide will share both the excitement of that moment and the tragic Boston Massacre.
Boston Common, the oldest city park in the US, is a favorite for both locals and visitors. As you walk through, you'll see memorials, fountains, and recreation areas, all enjoyed since 1634.
One of Boston's most popular neighborhoods, this area once declined due to sailors and British soldiers. You'll explore cobbled streets as your guide shares how it became the iconic spot it is today.
This lesser-known but significant memorial honors one of the first African American regiments in the Civil War and their colonel, Robert Gould Shaw.
Admire the glittering dome of the historic Massachusetts State House. Learn about John Hancock, the original landowner, and Paul Revere, who presided over the 1795 cornerstone ceremony. Your guide will share how the building has stood the test of time and remains vital to the state’s government.
Originally part of Boston Common, this cemetery dates back to 1660. You'll pass the graves of famous Revolutionary heroes like John Hancock, Paul Revere, and Sam Adams.
This lively garden, the first public park in America, is enjoyed by Bostonians for walks, exercise, and relaxation. As you stroll through, you'll learn how it was used during the Revolution and beyond. The tour ends here, a perfect spot to continue your day in Boston.

Our tour guide was AMAZING. If it makes sense, it didn’t feel like a tour. It felt like you were with an old friend whom you haven’t seen in ages but the chemistry is still there. He was an expert in all things Boston and was very friendly and warm. There was no question he couldn’t answer and he knew quirky random facts about everything.
Nabil did a fantastic job pointing out at the historic landmarks! Passionate and knowledgeable!
Lexi was an amazing and knowledgeable guide! Highly recommend
Nabil was a great tour guide. Very funny and witty and knows a lot! He's been in Boston for long and can tell you all the little details that other generic tour guide wouldn't cover.
Tour was really good, especially since it was a beautiful sunny day! There were only four of us on the tour, so we were able to hear our guide, Bob, without him having to yell or be on a microphone, and since we weren't in a big group we could ask unlimited questions. Would recommend! *our confirmation showed the wrong address so we were panicking while trying to find the meeting place. Time we could have spent in the market.
Lexie was great and so is the city! This was a terrific way to get our bearings there and in history!
It was such a cool and informative Tour to get to know a bit of Bostons History and cool little quirky story’s of the Neighborhoods. Our Guide Lexie was just the best. She was so funny and could answer any Question you would think of. She also speaks German, what is perfekt for German/Austrian Visitors to learn special vocabulary you would normally miss. There is just a little Typo on where to meet your Guide. Because it’s the house number 136 not 156, as outlined on the voucher. But all in all it is a really nice Tour and we can only recommend it !
Bob was a very knowledgeable host who personalized our visit with interesting quips of history.
Lexie was so knowledgeable, friendly and fun! Highly recommended!
Nabil, was the best guide you can have. He was so informative and answered all questions. His knowledge of boston was undeniable.
Nabil was awesome! He was very informative, funny and adapted to the crowd
An informative and entertaining tour of Boston’s history. The location and relative importance of major milestones were covered with clarity.
Our 24-hour girls trip to Boston would have been incomplete without this comprehensive and hilarious 2-hour tour with Nebil!! We picked this tour specifically because we wanted a well-rounded perspective of the city (not JUST revolutionary war history) and that’s exactly what we got. Nebil was very responsive to questions and had awesome jokes. Next time we’re in Boston (hopefully for longer) we will be booking another tour with Intrepid and hopefully with Nebil!
Did the tour with Bob, loved it!!
Amazing! So interesting and really friendly tour guide called Bob
Claire was a really informative guide who was happy to take questions and adapted the tour to suit the group. The walking tour is a great way to see the main historic sites up close. Would high recommend even if you’ve already done a trolley tour as it adds to your knowledge
We absolutely loved our Boston downtown tour with Connor! As a history teacher, his passion and knowledge really shine through. He explains history clearly, answers questions thoughtfully, and adds just the right amount of humor to make the stories memorable. From Samuel Adams and the Boston Massacre to Benjamin Franklin and the historic Omni Parker House, I learned so many fascinating things! His upbeat personality and engaging presentation made the tour both fun and educational. I highly recommend Connor to anyone visiting Boston!
Conner was awesome!! Knowledgeable, personable, friendly. Great guide, great tour. Thanks
The walking tour with Olivia was the perfect mix of history, trivia, and sightseeing, all blended with a steady walk. Hey enthusiasm and knowledge really brought the history to life. The distance covered was about right, and the smaller size of the group was ideal to keep everyone together and be able to hear her talk. Great value for money. Recommended.
Lexi was our tour guide and did an excellent job teaching us the history of the area as well as sharing some great stories along the way.
Loved the freedom trail tour! Our guide was knowledgable and lively.
Lexie was an amazing tour guide. We learned so much about the history of Boston. I would recommend this tour verses just an audio tour...so many fun facts...
Claire was smart, charming, and so knowledgeable. She was open to questions and super helpful. Claire also gave us suggestions on places to go during the rest of our time in Boston and the surrounding area. One note of caution: some of the streets & bricks can be uneven and difficult to walk on, so be careful & wear good shoes. Claire was very cognizant of this and helped us navigate the terrain. This was a great introduction to the city.
Had a really interesting and fun tour with Olivia, who was absolutely fantastic and made the day! Highly recommend this tour.
Great experience! Olivia was amazing :)
Nabil did an amazing and entertaining tour today!! We thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much about Boston.

Amazing! Highly recommend Bob, it was super cool
Nabil was a wonderful, entertaining, knowledgeable guide! We enjoyed the tour so much that we hardly noticed the rain! If you are able to request a specific guide you can’t go wrong with Nabil.
Wonderful tour with so much information packed into fascinating stories. Olivia makes Boston feel personal and alive, and the two hours flew by. As a bonus, we also got some great local restaurant recommendations, which made the experience even better.
Olivia was great the tour went well and went over many cool areas of the city
Good information on key historical sites
Absolutely fantastic walking tour. Nabil was extremely knowledgeable. He took us to all the main Freedom Trail sights but also veered off to share other interesting bits of local history. It was thoroughly enjoyable.
Connor was AMAZING and so fun! This is my first trip to Boston, so I booked this tour, and would do it again! Highly recommend, so many historic facts in such a small space and Conner answered all of them with a smile in his face. At the end of the tour, he took his time to be sure I didn't have any questions, then asked me where I was going next, and got me going in the right direction! This was a Solo trip for me and I am a 60 year old who loves walking and history! Great company to book with a Conner was a gift!
Conner was a fantastic guide - Enthusiastic and interesting. I had just landed from London and great thing to do on arrival.
Great tour guide, exceptionally knowledgeable and always helpful and ready to answer questions.

Our private tour was simply outstanding! Our tour guide Tim, was superb! His knowledge, insights, enthusiasm and concern for our interests made our Boston excursion a tailor made delight.
Nabil was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We did back to back food and history tours with him. Without a doubt, the best guide we have had and we have done over 15 tours like this around the world. Not to be missed.
Lexie was very knowledgeable and kept us laughing throughout. We really enjoyed the tour with her. Thanks.
This was our second time doing this tour, and it was as great as we remember. The tour guide, Ilan, was deeply knowledgeable and passionate about history of Boston, while also being very personable and charismatic. I can safely say in my opinion that this is the definitive Boston history tour.
