Emily was so much fun and animated throughout the tour! She took her time to acknowledge everyone’s questions and made you feel very welcome. I loved how spooky she made the ghost stories sound and she’s so knowledgeable about the history of Salem. I would def book Emily for all my tours if I could, she brings history to life!

Story teller, tour guide, whatever we’re calling the gentlemen is just not interesting in the way he tells the history. Not captivating we ended up leaving the tour after the second stop and just did our own thing till the next tour we booked.
If you are not familiar with the area/ghost this will give you the best run down of the the town buildings but in the theme of Halloween. Loved every minute of this tour.
This was a great way to start our trip! Our tour guide Emily was so animated and told the stories with the right amount of spooky! We had a large.group and she made sure everyone was following along ans waited for us when we got behind. Definitely recommend and would go again.
Disappointed maybe it would have been better with a lot less people on the streets or a different time of year. Our guide John was excellent!

Wonderful family experience. The guide was friendly and engaging and knew so much of the history behind the stories she shared. The tour was appropriately spooky for everyone! The tour started a little late due to combination of weather and adding people off the waitlist, but it ended up working out well as the delayed start allowed for the rain to clear and the tour to proceed with a great nighttime fall ambiance!
We had an awesome tour with Radea! She was entertaining and energetic. She answered all of our questions and was engaging the whole time. We loved crossing the street and saying"Shazam". We have 3 daughters ages 21, 11, and 8. All of them thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend!
We were with a handicap person on a scooter. We went to the graveyard and our tour guide spoke. We wanted to take some pictures. We saw a black cat we turned and she walked away so fast our party got split up and you would think that she would stop and wait because it was a handicap scooter and five people missing !!! we looked at the map and caught up with her to finish the tour…. I just found it to be extremely disappointing.
I would say overall good tour. Every story about every home ended in “people seeing someone in the windows” which got a bit old. Also would have enjoying how the witch trials began and the history.
John was our tour guide and he did an awesome job! His stories were fun and sometimes spooky, and also contained historical facts about Salem.

Very informative tour guide over many of the local sights. It was a nice walk and a welcome break from the masses that come to Salem during October. It is alot quieter at night. Still several tours going on.
This was so cool, the experience to walk the hunted site at knight and get to hear the history of the huntings was awesome

I am a person who usually never writes reviews even when an experience doesn’t go well, but this was such a let down. We were so excited because everywhere we read said this was such a well-researched tour and it absolutely was not. The tour guide told blatant lies about historical facts that can be easily looked up, one of them being that North Carolina was not one of the 13 original colonies. Unsure if her script was written by AI or she just did not come prepared, but do not waste your money on this tour. She also inserted her personal stories and experiences that made the ghost stories boring and felt over embellished. We started to zone out by the end because we could not trust what was coming out of her mouth.
A ton of false information. Like saying blackbeards skull is in the museum and you can see it. We spend 75.00 to go to museum to see it. The director of museum said most of the walking tour gives false information.
The guide didn’t show up. We stood there for over an hour and half then I called them and they said that they would be there in 2 minutes. Well it was more like 30 minutes. Then it was like rushed and didn’t get to see everything. The guide said that it was tripadvisors fault because there wasn’t supposed to be a tour at the time we booked.
Jack gave us an AMAZING tour! It was arranged thru D23/ Disney Fan Club. I thought I knew Salem history, but Jack gave so much more information. I flew out from California!!…,….LOVED the Day

This was a great tour! Jack was our guide and was interesting, yet fun and an amazing story teller! The stories were equally informative and spooky, giving this tour something more than just ghost stories. Wear comfortable shoes, because you will be walking/ standing the entire tour. Truly enjoyed every minute of this tour. Check in was easy and the staff inside the store was very friendly. Our tour guide, Vin, provided stories full of historical facts and just enough humor to make it a fantastic adventure. (We did another tour with another company and the tour guide made constant jokes making the tour corny and we lost interest) He didn’t rush us and answered all of our questions I would 100% book with Black Cat Tours next time we visit Salem and request Vin to be our guide
Vin was GREAT! Enthusiastic and you could genuinly tell he enjoyed his job. We had a perfect size group and he made sure we all heard him and had all of our wuestions answered. We learned so much information! Great tour!

This is hands down the best tour in Salem- and any other ghost tour I've done anywhere. Jack is an amazing storyteller and brings these stories to life. He has so many interesting facts and historical details. My favorite is the petty revenge of Mr.English- and he truly brought the people to life.
Atmospheric, quality, well-researched, spoooky ghost tour backed by history. Truth is really stranger than fiction! Our tour guide, Vinn, was in total command of his material, and clearly has a love for Salem's deep history. He was lively, interacted with the audience, and engaged with everyone of all ages. Jump scares not needed at all. After a bit i didn't want to look into darkened windows! Value for money - we walked Salem at night for 1.5 hours - to spots that, during the day I probably would just have given passing glance and afterwards felt I had a deeper appreciation of downtown Salem. The operator's store - Black Cat Curiousities Shoppe - is another character in and of itself - it's full of unique objects some of "mysterious" origins - don't miss a visit. Overall, five stars!

The tour started okay with a couple of jokes and a couple of ghost story’s and then it quickly went downhill. There was little talk about ghosts for the rest of the tour. Half of the tour was spent plugging different books on Amazon or other touristy shops. The last stop was utter garbage and was just a retelling of pirates of the Caribbean. The most interesting part was doing Pokémon go raid battles while the tour guide was rambling about the book he wrote.
Excellent tour. It is operated out of Black Cat Curiosity Shoppe (which is the most authentic Salem shop in my opinion - not a tourist trap). The owners take great care and take history seriously. You won’t get gimmicks or over-exaggerated nonsense. The history is rich enough, and spooky/gory/tragic enough to stand on its own. Daniel is a wealth of knowledge about Salem and history in general. I took both their 8:00 tour and the 10:00 “adults only” and I got different stops and stories respectively. If you’re on the fenced, let this be your sign to book!! It’s clear this is their passion.
Such a fun experience... our guide {I think Daniel... apologies it was a few weeks ago and I'm of an age} was very informative re the history of Salem(not just ghouls and ghosts)... He made the tour fun and a real highlight of Salem.. I thoroughly recommend if you're interested in the history of Salem, the Witch Trials and the grizzly ghostly happenings in Salem. This ghost tour was fun and family friendly. Entertaining, interesting, and a little scary. It was a good mix of history and ghost stories, just the right length. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging.
The Blackcat tour was awesome. It was very informative, and our tour guide Vincent was absolutely the best. He was funny, captivating, and thorough. His story-telling and delivery of information was a huge standout, we had a great time learning about the history and ghost stories that were told in the tour.
