The guide gave some interesting historical context, but spent so much of the tour sharing personal political, religious, and other inappropriate opinions that were completely irrelevant to the context of the tour, it was awkward and off putting. I know way too much about the guide’s personal life than I ever wanted to know.

Itinerary
Examine the demographics, theories and personal stories comprising the dire events of 1692. We will bring you to many of the locations that are full of witch trial history. Many of the structures are long since gone except for a few, but we know where they were located. This is a fascinating tour that will shed new light on what happened during the infamous witchcraft hysteria which turned neighbor against neighbor. The guide will go to as many of the following stops as possible and maybe not in the order listed.
Dedicated in 1992, this bench style memorial is in remembrance for the 20 innocent victims of the 1692 Salem Witchcraft Trials. Each bench has the name of the person, how they died and the date. You will learn the symbolism of the memorial and hear some of the stories of the victims.
Now a popular restaurant located in the center of historic Salem, Rockafellas (aka the Daniel Low and Co. building) was the original site of the First Church of Salem, as well as the city meeting house in 1692. It is located in the center of town and played a role in the witch trials.
Now the Merchant Hotel this is the site where George Corwin's house once stood. He was the High Sheriff of Essex County in 1692 and was responsible for signing arrest and execution warrants of the innocent victims of the trials. He took people's personal property and was caught torturing a few people in his home.
The Witch House is the only remaining Salem structure with direct ties to the witch trials of 1692. It is the home of Judge Jonathan Corwin. He used to meet in his house with Judge Hathorne and discuss who could be a witch. The house dates back to the 1660s.
The Salem YMCA is on Sewall Street that was named for judge Stephen Sewall of the Witchcraft Court. Nine-year-old Betty Parris was moved here in July of 1692. She was the daughter of Rev. Parris. The house is long gone, we will tell you about Betty and her cousin's role in starting the witchcraft hysteria.
Turner's Seafood is in Lyceum Hall that was built on land once owned by Bridget Bishop (the first woman executed in 1692) and her husband Edward. You will learn her incredible story and how a town was convinced she was a witch. It took eight days for her arrest, trial and execution.
While the museum isn't tied to the 1692 Witchcraft Trials, it is an example of how people were jailed. They were put in small jail cells the size of a phone booth or closet. And they had to pay for their own jail time. You'll hear the stories of the jailing process and you'll also get a photo op in the pillories (aka stocks).
Take a picture with Samantha Stevens, America's beloved with. Learn about the episodes shot in Salem and discover whose land the statue sits on. It is rather ironic.
The Witchcraft Court - called the court of Oyer and Terminer - was located in the middle of Washington Street in front of the present Masonic Building. Most of the trials were held in this location. Additional trials were held here in January 1693. You'll hear some of the travesties of the decisions by the court. One of the accused was declared innocent by the jury but the judges nullified the decision.
The Witchcraft Jail is gone but it was located at this location. It was one of many jails in the greater Boston area used during the trials. You will learn some of the names that were jailed here including Giles Corey, who was the man they crushed during an interrogation. Some prisoners died in jail

Very informative and interesting learning about the witch trials. Our guide was great! Had a small group which was nice.
Great guide very informative & accurate. Liked her sense of humour too
Hank was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable. I learned things about the witch trials that I hadn’t known before. And she was funny too and made it entertaining. Definitely recommend this tour if want true facts behind the witch trials.
Tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable! Fair amount of walking on cobblestones; wear sturdy shoes!
Tour guide Kept us engaged, learned about local history and kept things moving. Would recommend this tour
Tour guide makes/breaks a tour and I have done this one before. We couldn’t hear well but the tour itself wasn’t very informative and the tour guide wasn’t entertaining.
I was pleased!! The whole experience was 100 out 10 🎉🤗
Hank was outstanding- she gave us insider information not commonly known and was extremely insightful & empathetic to the true victims of these trials. Highly recommend this tour.
Christine was knowledgeable… However she talked too much, treated us like children and we stood in one spot many times over, not a lot of walking, it was not very good overall. We weren’t allowed to take videos, so I can’t include any.
Amazing experiences, thank you!! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and made it very interactive
Zach was so knowledgeable about each stop. We loved our tour. Definitely recommend. Thanks for all the fun
A lot of very cool information! Went to have lunch at a recommended spot that is said to be haunted by a victim of the trials. Super cool.
Amazing tour. 10/10. Tour guide was awesome, brought humor, history and knowledge all into one.
This was the worst tour I’ve ever experienced. My group as well as many others left after the first stop. We could not hear anything our guide was saying. He was monotone and reading from a binder. It was sad to see the other tours going by with animated and engaged guides. We decided it would be better for us to visit the rest of the stops on our own and read from Google than endure the tour. I called the office for a refund and they said no.
Our guide was Allen! Great tour! Very informative and interesting. You will not be disappointed. Thank you
Finding the meeting place wasn’t the easiest thing although their directions are very clear and once you know it is there, it is more obvious. The guide was an expert and very interactive.
Lovely guide, forgot her but was the 4pm tour on October 22nd 2026. Loved the humor!
Perfect length of time. Saw a good portion of Salem. Excellent tour guide who was a local and very knowledgeable
This tour was fantastic! We called directly and booked a private tour for 4 people. We wanted a more intimate experience where we could hear the guide better. The price point was excellent. We requested a historical tour rather than a ghost tour and we learned so much about Salem that we had no idea about! We had Corinne as our guide and she was amazing, so knowledgeable and fun! I cannot recommend this enough, it was a perfect experience from start to finish! They were very easy to book with and very accommodating. Will definitely be doing this again next time I'm in the area.
Our tour guide was very informational and friendly. She knew her history and what she was talking about. Deff knew her information.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. She interacted with every one and was very passionate about the history of the witch trials
We just did a Hocus Pocus + more tour. We are extremely disappointed. The tour guide only took us to one Hocus Pocus filming location. This tour is advertised as Hocus Pocus based and that’s not what we got at all. He did mention in the beginning we wouldn’t be going to Maxs house because the owner just lost her husband so she is grieving. But he could have taken us to extremely popular ropes mansion but he didn’t
The tour guide was very monotonous in his tour. It was hard to hear him and when we did hear him we tuned in to other tours around us as they seemed to be given an enthusiastic tour.
We spent a long time right outside their store. We don’t actually visit the witch memorial and the story telling was so so.
This was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend. We went to many historic places and the tour guide was really knowledgeable. She made it a fun time.
The guide was very informative and interesting. I enjoyed the tour.
Michael & his cat, Clarence, used his humor & engaged everyone involved to keep your attention. He really knew his Salem history…we Really enjoyed his stories. Thanks, Michael, for giving us a Great experience!!
We had hoped for more information about the origins of the witch trials and a brief history of Salem. Instead, the tour guide rambled about people we had never heard of, and her opinions seemed unrelated to the stops. We had only 40 minutes left of the tour, and we parted ways with the group. Don’t waste your money.
Guide was awesome. She made it fun and very informative.
Trip provider used slightly different name for tour then actual name booked with so it wasn’t clear if I was checking in for correct tour. Two of the same tours left at same time. Splitting the groups was somewhat confusing. Giovanni was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining but during the tour didn’t focus on keeping the group together.
Salem has some beautiful history; however, I was extremely disappointed in the flippant way it was presented. My mistake visiting in Oct.
Great tour with a great guide. Very informative about 1692 witch trial victims.
This tour was very boring. The guide did not tell the story with enthusiasm. There were no buildings to see. We just kept walking around to sites of no significance to the story. We left before we finished the tour
Found our guide too quiet and would start talking before the entire group was around her so a lot was missed. I also found she gave way to many personal opinions rather than just dealing with historical information. Felt I didn’t learn anything about the witch trials which was the hope for the tour.
Was a bit disappointed with the lack of historical material provided on the tour. Was hoping to get some facts and context about the witch trials (we specifically booked the 1692 Witchcraft Walk), but tour content was hard to follow and leaned heavily on sarcasm/personal anecdotes. Guide talked pretty quickly and threw out names of historic locations and people without providing much context. We did visit some great spots though!
My husband and I love excursions didn’t care for our tour guide Hank and her sarcasm. She didn’t bring the stories to life.
This was the worst tour I have ever had. While the guide was nice, we found it difficult to follow her storyline, and to keep our attention.
This was my favorite tour of the trip. Giovanni was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Salem. The depth he went into was incredible, showing us how we know what we know from maps, first-hand accounts, etc. I also mentioned to him that my 10th Great Grandfather was George Jacobs Sr, one of the accused and hung. He told me that his body was one of the few actually located and reburied on the Rebecca Nurse Homestead and that I can visit the grave site. It was a real treat to be able to take the tour from such an incredible historian. Thank you, Giovanni!
Great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging.
Really enjoyed this tour. Got a lot of information regarding the witch trials. Walked and saw some sights, not necessarily about the trials since those places are gone. But the info was really good. Our guide was a fun woman who shared a great insight.
It was a lame rectangular wall around town. Very little about the locations she brought us to were worth going to to hear about a story that wasn’t too long about a specific person. I was disappointed with the story telling and expected a better experience. Would not recommend this tour to anyone. I’d rather take a self guided tour that was more historical and interesting.
This was a very interesting tour with the right amount of time and walking. I would definitely recommend it! It was really enjoyable learning from a “female wizard” 😉. The only thing I wish was that the story was a little more comprehensive and connected the different parts together better. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the tour and would give it 4.5 stars if I could!
Informative about history but the places they take you to for the most part are locations where something used to exist and has since been replaced by other structures.
Great guide. We really enjoyed learning the history of Salem. We should have not planned anything for later in the day and stayed longer to explore the shops and city. View busy in October with the crowds.
Allen was a very poor guide. He knows his facts but has no personality and the long distances in between stops, he didn’t speak at all. I’ve been on ghost tours in Savannah, Charleston, etc and this is by far the worst I have been on. We needed up leaving 3/4 through the tour because it was so not enjoyable and laughable.
This tour was horrible and the guide was not educated in the history of Salem. The guide rambled on about personal stories and pictures on his phone in front of historical building but didn’t talk about the history. It was over priced story time. Never again
This is a serious tour for lovers of history, or those wanting to understand more about, and pay respects to the accused of 1692.
Great local knowledge! Plus a lot of relevance on this tour for the witch trials and some of the American revolution. So much history for a cemetary that is frequently driven past when on route 133/125.
This tour was very disappointing because the information was not presented in a professional manner. We quickly lost interest. The guide was “Um Um” all the time and not professionally dressed, he wore a pizza shop t shirt. When asked a question about the drowning test he had no answer. Other guests left the tour prematurely.
