Nice hotel with very cool history. The rooms are nice, the beds are not the most comfortable, but they are fine. All the staff I interacted with was pretty good. They don’t have great breakfast options in the morning, but they do have a coffee stand, which is complementary in the lobby, which is very nice. There’s no coffee maker in the room. Room service is not 24 hours which I don’t prefer. Valet service was not very good, they are disorganized and couldn’t figure out my ticket/texting situation, so I had to call for my car on the phone. Annoying. Outside of that, it’s a great hotel, good location, recommend overall

I recently visited The Liberty Hotel in Boston, and it was a genuinely memorable experience. What immediately stood out to me was the hotel’s unique character. Housed in a beautifully preserved historic building, the property combines its original architecture and distinctive details with a modern, upscale atmosphere. It feels very different from a typical luxury hotel. The interior design was one of my favorite aspects of the visit. The historic elements, impressive open spaces, and stylish décor create a sophisticated yet comfortable environment. There is a great balance between old-world charm and contemporary elegance, which gives the hotel a personality of its own. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout my visit. The overall service felt attentive without being overwhelming, and the property was well maintained. I also enjoyed the atmosphere around the common areas, which had a lively but polished feel. The location is another strong point. Being in the heart of Boston makes it convenient for exploring many of the city’s attractions, restaurants, and cultural spots. It was easy to enjoy the surrounding area while still having a distinctive and relaxing place to return to. Overall, I had a wonderful time at The Liberty Hotel. Its historic setting, stylish atmosphere, central location, and quality hospitality make it a memorable destination in Boston. If you appreciate hotels with character rather than something that feels generic, this is definitely a place worth experiencing. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and upscale Boston hotel experience.
⭐️⭐️ Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel. I honestly don’t understand how this property is advertised as a 5-star hotel. The hotel is very old, and the overall cleanliness was disappointing. I even had to bring the condition of the lobby restrooms to the front desk’s attention, they were extremely dirty and honestly worse than public restrooms at a Subway. The service was also nowhere near what I would expect from a 5-star property. The staff came across as oddly rude and unwelcoming. It often felt like they were speaking to guests simply because they had to, rather than providing the level of hospitality you would expect from a luxury hotel. Basic manners and friendliness were noticeably lacking. The location is another concern. The hotel is right next to a subway entrance, and there were consistently homeless people around the entrance and surrounding area, which did not create the safe or upscale atmosphere I expected. Overall, this experience was far from what I would consider a 5-star stay. The property needs significant improvements in cleanliness, service, maintenance, and overall guest experience before it should be marketed at that level.
I have always wanted to stay here, but after spending one night, I will not be returning. This does not feel like a luxury five-star hotel. If you are looking for real luxury, I would recommend staying at Encore instead. From the moment you enter the hotel, there is a strong sewage smell, which is very off-putting. While it was nice to be greeted with a choice of wine or lemonade, the issues continued in our room. Both the TV and the phone were not working. Because the phone was out, we even had to walk down to the front desk to order room service. The staff member who helped us was kind and read us the menu, which we appreciated, but it is not what you expect from a five-star experience. We also had one guest using a rollaway bed, and it was the worst bed any of us had ever seen. Springs were coming through the mattress, and it made loud noises anytime they moved. We had planned to get breakfast the next morning, but the smell in the lobby made that impossible. When we mentioned these issues upon checkout, the staff was apologetic and kind, but nothing was done to meaningfully address the situation. Although we still managed to have a fun girls’ night, it was a very expensive stay for what ended up being very disappointing accommodations.
I had an excellent experience with Mark Shiro at The Liberty Hotel. He was extremely welcoming, professional, and attentive from the moment I arrived. Mark went above and beyond by providing great restaurant recommendations and even assisting with making reservations, which made my stay and dining experience seamless and enjoyable. His hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine kindness truly stood out. Thank you, Mark, for making my visit feel so personalized and memorable. Highly recommend!
