We stayed here for two nights and thought it was decent. Service was good, although housekeeping didn't come until 5pm. I believe we were in the west tower, which is in need of renovation. The rooms were a little noisy, nothing crazy but not quiet, and the location is just okay.

I stayed here this week for a business trip and had a great experience. The room was clean and quite comfortable. It had plenty of space. I found the bed easy to sleep on. The lights were soft/warm (not harsh) and the refrigerator was quiet -- those touches make a difference. My room happened to have a nice view of the city and river (photo below). It was quiet at night. If you're into running, there's a great path along the river. I only interacted with the staff during check-in and check-out, but they were very nice in both those cases. Overall it was great and I'll stay here the next time I'm in town.
I stayed at the Royal Sonesta right by the river. It was a pleasant stay. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great! Easy to get to the office. Only issues in the room was that it was small, carpets were a little worn, surfaces had cleaning streaks, and the air vent was blowing right on the bed. But the bed was so comfortable, they had light sensors when you got up at night it would light the floor, and generally the place was clean and smelled fresh.
Spent Saturday night there and WOW. Good service on the front desk, excellent room service. The view was gorgeous. And that bed! A joy to sleep in- although I woke up every two hours 🤷🏿♀️ and then went back into a deep sleep. The pool is a good size, but when I went there were no towels and the front desk didn’t send any over when I asked. And it was full of children, which was uncomfortable. The other thing was not getting my wake-up call. Four stars, though. And worth every penny.
This sonesta is not the same as in years ago. It used to be very top notch but the pool area has been changed and there are not enough chaise lounges. The sofa style cushions are filthy and the pool needs more cleaning as there is grime on the inside tile. The outdoor shower by the pool was dirty with suntan lotion and hair. There should be more cleaning throughout the day not just at night. The workout room seems very up to date and plenty of newer machines and weights. There is no valet but parking now seems to be included. The week night rate reflects the more budget aspect of the hotel now however the weekend/ holiday rate $500 for 2 double beds( not queen) with small size of room and no microwave seems a little steep. Room was clean and housekeeping available. Wish we had known about the on site Starbucks/ convenience stand upon check in as that would have been helpful. Of course the view out the window is still fabulous.
