Scam-Like Experience, Stay FAR Away This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any accommodation provider. I prepaid for a 21-night stay, and the very next day I was told to vacate immediately because of a “system glitch” that supposedly erased my reservation. Their mistake — but I was the one thrown out with no solution, no relocation, nothing. I was left scrambling at night with nowhere to go. When I asked for a refund, they told me they would not provide any documentation until I vacated and checked out. That alone is a huge red flag. It gets worse — after I left as instructed, they refused to provide any checkout receipt or written proof of my stay ending. No paperwork, no confirmation, nothing. Completely unprofessional and suspicious. Another tactic they use: instead of contacting you properly, they’ll have a housekeeping manager call you through someone else’s phone (on speaker) so there is no record or evidence that they ever contacted you or told you to leave. This feels very intentional. After I filed a chargeback with my bank for services I never received, they went ahead and charged my card AGAIN without authorization. At that point, this stopped being incompetence and started feeling like fraudulent behavior. I had to dispute the charge again and ultimately change my card details to protect myself. This company: • Takes full payment upfront • Cancels your stay due to their own error • Forces you out with no accommodation • Refuses to provide documentation or receipts • Communicates in ways that avoid leaving evidence • Then attempts to charge you again I’ve since seen multiple similar complaints — this does not seem like a one-off situation. Please be careful. Do NOT stay here. There are far more trustworthy and professional places to book.

I reserved a room for 2 nights (Feb 9 - Feb 11, 2026) through my organization's travel service provider. I received confirmation of this reservation through email on Jan 23. I was traveling solo for work, attending a conference in Boston. Below is my experience when I arrived around 5:30 pm (note that it was dark at that time): 1. Rang the bell at the locked entrance several times. Although people were inside, I was not let in by them. I waited for a few minutes until I could enter behind someone with access 2. The floor was very wet (literally a puddle). There was a "wet floor" sign, so staff was aware, but it was clearly a hazard. 3. There isn't really a counter to check in at. It is more of a small podium with a shield. There is a desk further behind it, like a small office area. A friendly security guard was working there and there was another woman but, I would find out later that she was apparently "off the clock". 4. I waited for the guard to help a family that was getting something about their room sorted. Once it was my turn I was told that I could not check in. The billing dept had sent an email to the hotel earlier in the day saying that I had not filled out all the forms required for staying. But, oddly, there were no forms for me to fill out. I was told that I had to call the billing dept for them to send me the form. This was sounding very sketchy, but I had had a very long travel day and figured I would see if it was a simple task. See attached email for the message that was sent and provided to me. 5. I called the number and spoke to someone very quickly and provided my email for them to send this mysterious form that they needed (apparently a copy of my identification?). I waited at least 20 minutes and there was no form sent. The person I spoke to had sent a text to my phone asking for my email address (to make sure they entered it correctly) so during the time I was waiting, I sent two messages with "have you sent the form yet?" with no answer. 6. I told the security guard (doubling as the check-in clerk) that I needed to cancel because I really needed to ensure I had a place to stay. As I sat and waited, I found a place about 0.25 miles away and made a reservation. I told the security guard that I needed to cancel my reservation at the "Global Luxury Suites" because I was afraid that they didn't actually have a room for me. He answered "really? you're canceling?". I said "what choice do I have?". 7. I walked to the second hotel and checked in with no problem. I was so relieved! And, what do you know, once I got to my room, I checked my phone and there was a text saying "we sent you the form." I sent a text back saying that I wanted to cancel my reservation and that I made arrangements elsewhere. I received a text back that the reservation was non-refundable. The cancellation deadline was for a few days prior, but you would think that they would make an exception. They stated in the text that the room was ready but they were waiting for documents from my side. I stated that it was all handled through a travel provider and I would inform them that their property should be removed from their list of hotels. So, I'm curious what *really* occurred. It appears to me (just my opinion) that there was possibly no room for me and they waited until I gave up before sending me this "required form" (that, strangely, wasn't waiting for me when I got there and could only be emailed). That way, they could still charge me (or, rather, charge my company). Even if there was a room, why not have the form ready for me? It was a terrible end to a long day of travel (delayed flight, missed connection, second delayed flight). The only positive part was that I ended up in a much nicer hotel. In a weird way, I was glad I didn't end up staying at "Global Luxury" because, who knows what that experience would have been like.
My customer service experience with this property was great, until I was unable to check in at time of arrival because a key was not left for my unit. Being that it is an apartment complex, and it was late at night, after trying to figure out the situation at hand I left and got a hotel for sleep and safety. After leaving Boston I contacted customer service to reconcile the entire situation and was treated horribly.
I’ve had enough time to reflect and cool off so here’s a factual review and I’m going to try to be unbiased. Read this review before all the rest of you want a 100% honest account of this property. I mistakenly booked the room for only two adults instead of two adults and three boys that we had. That was my mistake. There were no linens for the pull out sofa and there were only two towels. We booked for 4 days and they don’t do daily room service. So two towels were meant to last us 4 days. Customer service via the 1-800 number were very helpful. They had a roll-away bed and extra linens, towels and pillows delivered. No complaints with Customer Service. The location is great. On the very tip of Chinatown, close walk to most attractions (Downtown, Back Bay, Boylston, Copley, etc). Steps away from the orange line subway. Never felt unsafe or sketched out. Now for the bad things. Which were not small things. First, the elevator didn’t work for the entire duration of our trip. The building is shared with Verizon Wireless and guests had to use the Verizon elevators. Doesn’t sound like a big deal BUT you needed a keycard to use them. The only keycard belonged to Security. SO security guards had to scan their badge, lean into the elevator and press the button for your floor. THEN in order to get down to the lobby you had to CALL the security guards every single time and have them send the elevator to your floor. Every. Single. Time. You left your floor. It was incredibly inconvenient. But, all of the Security guards were very friendly with the exception of one guy with beard who had a terrible attitude. Guy named “O” was so awesome! The room was a living room area and a bedroom. The door to the bedroom was missing. There was supposed to be a door, but it was missing completely. And the door jamb molding was broken and cracked and pulled away from the wall. The hot water was nonexistent. There were five of us. One person could barely get in a five minute shower before the hot water ran out. Then it took hours to heat back up. Never seen hot water run out that fast. There’s some weird timer on the water to the washing machine. You have to start the timer before you can turn on the water. It was weird. The seal on the bathroom door was off so when you did get to take a shower the water went all over the bathroom floor. Again, we were there for 4 days. There were two TINY trashcans. A 1-gal and a 3-gal. I had to go buy trash bags for our room. The building just needs attention. Molding, paint, ceilings, walls, inside of elevators. Our bathroom door wouldn’t shut. One day we got an email saying that a HVAC company was coming around to change out filters. More than normal wear and tear tells me that the company or building management only fixes things when they become a major problem. In summary good: location, price, customer service was very pleasant. In summary bad: the elevators, the HVAC filters, the hot water/shower situation, the weird washing machine timer, not enough trash bags/inadequate receptacles, very hard mattress, missing bedroom door, damaged door jambs, bathroom door wouldn’t shut. So, if you want a cost effective place that’s close to things, give it a shot. If you want maid service, and super clean rooms and a bathroom door that shuts and working elevators and a hot shower, look elsewhere. It certainly wasn’t the worst room I’ve ever stayed in. But with my wife and 3 kids, it left a lot to be desired.
We rented three rooms and were not able to get access. The 24/7 “emergency” service was nonexistent. We ended up having to scramble and book elsewhere last minute in order to have a reliable place to sleep. The (full size) bed and the (nonexistent) sofa bed were not as described. The only thing good about this place is the location, but good luck getting into the apartments. It was such a nightmare we ended up booking at local hotels and paying there as well and now we are trying to get our money back from global luxury suites which seems to be impossible, even though they did not provide the service as described. Do not be swayed by their beautiful pictures. It’s not worth the hassle by any stretch of the imagination we spent hours trying to get into our rooms. The Renaissance is at a wonderful location and is worth a couple of extra bucks
