We recently stayed at the Four Seasons Boston on Boylston Street, and for a luxury hotel, the experience was surprisingly underwhelming. Check-in Experience The biggest issue was check-in. We were guaranteed a 3:00 p.m. check-in but didn’t receive our room until 5:30 p.m. Since we were only staying for two nights, losing two and a half hours had a significant impact on our plans for the day. Amenities and Communication The property markets itself as being very family-friendly, but no one took the time to explain any of the amenities. We later discovered features like the snack vault and the mystery closet on our own. These are nice touches, but they’re only valuable if guests know they exist. There is also a kids’ mystery closet filled with toys, yet while our children waited patiently with us in the lobby during the lengthy check-in delay, no one offered them this experience or made any effort to make the wait easier. Housekeeping Housekeeping was also inconsistent. We were asked what time we wanted turndown service, and after requesting 7:00 p.m., the staff confirmed it. However, no one ever came. Overall Impression Overall, this was a disappointing stay. While the property itself is nice, the service fell well short of what I’d expect from a Four Seasons. The lack of communication, missed service, and delayed check-in made for a subpar experience, and I would not choose to stay here again. We did speak with the assistant manager, who did provide a credit for the first night’s stay, which was appreciated. However, even with that gesture, I still would not recommend this property. They missed the mark in several key areas, and perception is everything in hospitality. It’s also worth noting that not all Four Seasons properties are equal—we recently stayed at the Four Seasons in Costa Rica, and that experience was phenomenal in every way, which only highlighted how far this stay fell short.

I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston for a short trip, and overall it was a comfortable but fairly standard luxury hotel experience. The location is probably its biggest advantage. Being right across from Boston Common made it easy to walk to nearby shops, restaurants, and a few tourist spots without needing transportation. That convenience saved a lot of time. The room was clean and quiet, with a classic design that feels a bit dated in some areas, but still well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well during my stay. Nothing felt particularly modern or flashy, but everything worked as expected. Service was polite and professional. Staff were helpful when needed, though interactions were brief and not especially memorable. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Amenities like the pool and gym were decent, but I didn’t spend much time using them. The lobby felt calm but also a bit formal, which may or may not suit everyone. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want a reliable stay in a central location, but it doesn’t stand out as particularly unique compared to other high-end hotels.
1000% wonderful experience, how will we ever go to another hotel? Every single member of the staff was professional, friendly & did their jobs well. Any questions or requests were taken care of immediately. We had a suite that was lovely & had plenty of room. The pool area was sparkling clean & well stocked, as was the entire hotel. In the morning they have free coffee for guests downstairs, there is also food to go but not complimentary. We had the fruit salad which was good. There are so many terrific restaurants within walking distance. Try Contessas, but make a res! The location is fantastic! We lucked out with a sunny weekend & ended up walking around the Boston Common & Public Gardens ( great people watching ). If you’re not familiar with Boston weather, always bring an extra jacket & scarf for when the wind blows in off the Atlantic.
Absolutely love this hotel. The service was excellent as a person who is legally blind. I cannot say how much I appreciated the staff at this hotel. They obviously had gone through disability etiquette training unless they just happened to find the most compassionate and understanding and easy going people in the world! And besides being accommodating to me with my disability, the staff was generally wonderful. We never seem to have to wait for anything. Our luggage came upstairs quickly and when we called to have her luggage picked up when we left I thought oh no we are at checkout time. We will take at least 30 minutes. They were there in 5 minutes. 24-hour room service. Hard to find anymore but they had it a workout room where the staff was there to hand you towels and water and clean off the equipment. Yep they had it. A room called The vault that you just use your own key to go in to get snacks like chips and candy and sparkling water staff that knew what was close by and gave you great recommendations. Whether you want to walk or use other means of true transportation, the food and the restaurant absolutely delicious. The best French toast I have ever had in my life. The room was a nice room, not as spacious as some other rooms but the bathroom was wonderful. I would go again definitely if you want five star treatment this is the place to be
Nice ambiance. Very good room service breakfast. Nice turndown service. Complimentary car that takes you within a two mile radius. Good service by Fitz in the bar area and Bryan in valet was nice and welcoming. Really appreciated checking in with Sonika. She was so sweet and friendly and, what I was the most grateful for, she put together a beautiful itinerary for celebrating my birthday at several establishments throughout Boston. Each one we went to was exactly what we were looking for and she even helped us make reservations for them. Enjoyed walking though the park nearby.
