With something so expensive you would think you would be taken cared of. The truck had a high pitch beep sound throughout the entire day hurting our ears (in the very early morning and late night), the driver didn’t put his seatbelt on so another beep was heard, and he was just that a driver not a tour guide, there was a language barrier so none of our questions had accurate answers, other excursions provided water this one did not, and we felt uncomfortably pressured to give a tip. The most devastating part was the northern white rhinos (the main reason for the tour) were falsely advertised for you had to pay $70 per person to see them. Whilst the area is beautiful and there is plenty to see, know that all fees are not included and you are hiring just a driver that is on his phone the whole time.
It was a great experience to see rhinos and other animals! The drive from Nairobi to the conservancy is long and bumpy but I found it to be worth it. My guide was great and he listened to what I wanted to see and went above and beyond to make it happen. I got to feed a blind rhino and see many other rhinos (including the last 2 northern white rhinos in the world). I also saw hippos, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and many other animals. Overall, it was a great experience!
Myself and 3 friends did a day trip from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta conservatory with Perfect wilderness safari. We were very happy with our decision and could not be more pleased with the day. We were fortunate to have Paul as our driver/guide. He kept us safe while driving and was informative along the way, answering any questions we had. The reason for the trip was to see the Northern White Rhinos which did not disappoint. Perfect wilderness safari arranged for tickets ahead to time for us. I expected the tickets to just be a viewing. Instead we had a private hour with the rhinos where we learned about them from a park ranger and then had an opportunity to feed, pet them, and take pictures with them. It was an unforgettable experience. The rest of the day was free to see other sites in the park. Paul was very accommodating and patient and took us anywhere we wanted to go. We chose to spend time with the blind rhino, the chimpanzees, and had lunch at the Serena sweet water lodge in addition to some game drives. We also got to stop at the equator (both in and outside the park). Paul also took us to a great souvenir shop outside the park after the tour. It was a long day but very enjoyable. I would not hesitate to book the tour with this company. If you do, ask for Paul as a guide/driver
Dan was an excellent guide throughout the day. Lots of great information and he found us lions after a recent kill - very knowledgeable about all the animals and birds - a fantastic day!
Awesome. Heaven in the kenyan wilderness. Put it in your bucket list next time you visit kenya. The food was great. Service was awesome and saw all the five
Amazing place to visit. The roads are quite okay for a game drive(we used a 2wd saloon car). The routes are easy to follow with or without a guide. The experience with the wildlife is memorable. From the elephants at the elephant bridge to the water bucks, rhinos, chimpanzees etc. You will definately get to see alot of wildlife on this conservancy.
It was just a perfect trip, my guide Paul picked me up at 5 am and I had a chance to see a lot of Kenya’s incredible landscape. When we got to the conservancy, we popped the roof of the car open and went on a game drive. It’s such a nice place and the rhino density is really high. I brought my camera and Paul was really patient with me, stopping every few hundred meters to take pictures. We got home in time and it was a really nice drive with some good conversations. Can totally recommend it!
Tony my guide driver picked me up on time at my hotel. We drove nearly 4 hours to play Pejeta where he did all the game drives (we saw so many animals). Ouch was timed perfectly for when it rained. After lunch we saw the blind rhino and the northern white rhinos (in their compound - cost extra). And then on the way out we saw a pride of lions just chilling by the road. Was an awesome day! Tour is around 16 hours but we’ll worth it!
Ol Pejata is worth the trip! I actually organized this tour almost at the last minute during another tour with Perfect Wilderness (the 3-day Masai Mara tour). I was anxious that things might be sold out or that it would be too late but Caren made it work! The team at Perfect Wilderness is excellent and very responsive. The day tour itself was magical: from hugging a black rhino to riding horses with the last two white rhinos on earth, it was surely a special experience.
Ol Pejata Conservance is one of the best maintained parks that we saw on our Kenya/Tanzania safari experience. There is an abundance of wildlife and it is possible to get very close to observe them. It was well worth the long journey to and fro from Nairobi. Our safari guide James, was very helpful and well versed in spotting and identifying the wildlife. The highlight of our tour was the abundance of black and white rhinos and the pair of lions we saw. All in all, we did 3 day tours with Perfect Wilderness Tours and Safaris (this one, Elephant Orphanage/Giraffe Centre/Nairobi National Park and the day tour to Tarangire National Park from Arusha, Tanzania). All of them were extremely well organized and value for money. We will definitely be travelling back to Kenya/Tanzania and using this tour operator again.
Everything was perfect and our guide did a great job. Definitely will use Perfect Wilderness Safaris again :) thank you!
I'm thrilled with how well this worked out, I wanted to see the last northern white rhinos while I was in Kenya, and Peter and Ben did a fantastic job tailoring the day to what I wanted to see. Lots of time with the northern whites (you can't miss them, they're in an enclosure so it doesn't take luck to happen upon them) and we saw at least a dozen more southern whites around the park, in addition to lots of elephants, water buffalo, zebras, gazelle, etc., plus the chimp sanctuary. I wasn't sure if the price was going to be worth it for a single day, but it really was without question and I'm so glad I didn't miss this while I was in Kenya. This paired perfectly with a Maasai Mara safari since we saw everything except rhinos when we were in Maasai Mara. Give these guys your business, they really deserve it and were such a pleasure to spend the day with. I would go back and do the same tour with them again.
This was a great day trip from Nairobi. It was about 3 hours each way, but it was nice to sit back and watch the views from the car. My guide/driver Peter was awesome! He was friendly and personable and very Knowledgeable about the wildlife during the game drive!!
I have booked lion tracking activity with rangers in Ol Pejeta conservancy. We were lucky because we were only 2 persons in the car with rangers (maximum: 6 persons). It is an amazing experience, because you begin by tracking lions with antenna, allowing you to detect the sounds emitted by a transmitter collar. One or 2 members of lion groups are equipped with such collars. It was extraordinar to see the behaviour of a group of 4 female lions and their 7 cubs, especially communication and interactions between adults and cubs, breastfeeding, grooming, playing, resting. The rangers explained us many things about the lions and their activities that we saw. The lions are, in fact, equiped with radio collars to protect rhinos against lion predation. Thus, it was a very interesting. Altogether, I highly recommend to do the lion tracking in Laikipia plateau.
We got to see 4 out of the big 5!! I couldn't believe we were able to get so close to these wild animals. This tour is all day and perfect for people who don't have a lot of time to do a full Safari. You get breakfast and lunch and a comfortable ride there and back... I would do this tour again in a heartbeat! I had one hiccup and that was it took a while to get my confirmation but that was taken care of before I arrived in Nairobi and it was smooth sailing from there. Our driver George was great and full of knowledge about the animals you get to see. I fully recommend this tour!
first - apologies to the company that it's taken me a while to write this! I had booked a solo trip to Kenya, arriving in Nairobi on new years eve, and was due to fly out to the Masia Mara two days later. I had a day free - New Years Day - and so booked a last minute trip. A quick look through the available choices (there are many) and Perfect Wilderness fit the bill. I chose a trip to Ol Pejeta because of the chance to see rhino, and especially - maybe - the northern white rhino that the Chinese hunger for keratin has driven almost to extinction. The booking process was easy, great communication. They knew my guest house so arrangements were easy to settle too. Paul, my driver / guide / all round good guy, arrived on time (6am) and we were soon driving north through Nairobi, chatting about Kenya, politics, wildlife and revolution. My kind of morning. Seriously though, we had six hours of driving to and from the conservancy that day and I couldn't have asked for an easier person to spend that time with. He's also a maths genius (cheetah run 27 meters a second at full pelt). Anyway - the conservancy itself is breathtaking. It feels a little weird 'reviewing' the natural world, but for the box-tickers out there, we saw an incredible array of animals. Paul went the extra mile trying to find them, and it was a great introduction to Kenya's wildlife: Zebra, Thomson's Gazelle, Elephant, Waterbuck, Baboon, Buffalo; and what I came for - the Rhino. We were lucky enough to see one of the last two female Northern White Rhino, the pure genetic line of which will be extinct when these pass away (note to China - it's the same stuff that's in your finger nails!). We also saw a family of Black Rhino, and the Southern White Rhino with which the conservationists are trying to breed the the Northern variety and preserve at least some of the pool. The reminders of the war against the poaching industry is everywhere: the memorial stones to the poached rhino, the armed rangers patrolling, and the fenced off areas protecting these magnificent animals. We also visited the Rhino and Chimp sanctuaries - both well worth visiting. Overall, a great day out and a great introduction to my trip - you won't be disappointed.

I can't say enough about this Conservancy! This is absolutely one of the BEST things I have ever done in Kenya, and this was my second trip to the country. I lived and worked here in the past and missed this treasure the first time around. GEORGE MUMBA from PERFECT WILDERNESS took us on this trip and I cannot recommend him MORE HIGHLY!!! He went so far out of his way for us, introducing us to staff, as we had a million conservation questions. He also stayed late, past our scheduled return time, because a ranger had seen a pride of lions and told us how to find them. What a special guy he is! He has now become a dear and trusted friend after traveling with his company on 2 trips. ASK FOR GEORGE! But prioritize Olpejeta to truly understand the struggles of conservation and witness international collaboration at its finest.
