This is a great tour especially if you’re with a small group (we had 7 plus the driver). Easily booked with the operator and their communication was good. Don our driver was excellent, knowledgeable and very friendly. Out group was 3 ladies and two couples. By the end of the tour we knew each other well, such was the camaraderie of the tour. Our whole group enjoyed the experience and we would recommend it to everyone.

Everything was well organised, really appreciated the consistent communication. The pick up and drop off was tailored to our specific accomodation which was great. Tour was well worth it with multiple tastings with lots of variety. Tash was amazing! Had a fantastic day, met some lovely people and would recommend to everyone.
Booked the night before for my partner and I. Lisa picked us up right on time and was a great driver, very friendly. It ended up being us and one other couple which was nice in the small group. We went to 3 lovely wineries that I hadn’t been to before. All delicious wines and great hosts. Barry the dog gets a special shout out. The lunch perfectly paired with all the wine tastings. We then stopped in at a distillery, we skipped the chocolate by choice and finished at the brewery. All in all a really great day out, thank you!! Plenty of tastings and a good amount of time at each location.
Such a great day from start to finish. Beautiful spots, great atmosphere and really well organised. The wheelchair accessibility was a huge plus for us, and Lisa was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the day. We all had an absolute ball!
Went with a friend and really enjoyed the whole day. Good venues, plenty of laughs and a really welcoming crowd. We met some great people along the way and ended up making new friends. A relaxed tour that suits all sorts of people.
Joined this tour with a few girlfriends and loved it. The day was relaxed, well organised and full of good vibes. Lots of laughs and our driver John was amazing.Great mix of venues and a fun group of people. Would definitely do it again.
We had a great time! The venues were stunning and had great variety of wine selections! John was amazing!
Nico was an awesome guide, and we had an amazing time on our big day out. I can highly recommend this tour!
This is not a wine tour, it was a party bus. The driver gave no information or appeared to have any knowledge of the area. All he did was drive the bus. We had to ask each stop how long we would be there and what we were seeing. The individual vintners gave us some information about their wines. The driver put the bus in motion before passengers were seated, very unsafe. The venues were nice, a nice lunch at the second venue , but the driver was very unprofessional which gave a bad impression for the whole day
Booked this while away for the weekend with a couple of mates and it turned out to be a top decision. Well organised, friendly hosts and a good mix of venues throughout the day. The vibe was social and relaxed and we met some great people along the way. Took all the effort out of planning and made the day easy, thanks again Nico and Sharn for sorting us.
Good communication, knowledgeable tour guide, easy, comfortable and a lot of fun. Visted a few really lovely wineries.
We booked this for a big group of friends trip and it delivered. Zero stress, great venues, good tunes and plenty of laughs from start to finish. The hosts kept things flowing at the stops without killing the fun. If you're travelling with a group and want a day that feels easy ,social and a little bit silly - this is it 😋
My wife and I joined this tour with friends while visiting the South West and had a fantastic experience. The staff were welcoming and professional, the venues were well chosen, and the atmosphere was fun without being over the top. Our driver Pete looked after us, shared different facts and information about the area and put up with our music taste. It suited our group perfectly and took all the hassle out of planning. Would happily recommend.
A few friends and I joined a Margies tour and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The team were friendly and organised, and the vibe on the bus was upbeat without being too rowdy. We made some new friends along the way and enjoyed every stop. Perfect way to explore the region if you want something fun and social.
What an amazing day! Nico was a great host who shared local knowledge and kept our tour on track, along with creating a unique playlist just for us! All of the wineries we visited were stunning, and our Woody Nook lunch was spectacular. Highly recommend this tour, its well organised and value for money.
Such a fun tour! The team was so accommodating with our booking and pick-up, and the day had a great mix of tastings, laughs and good music. Relaxed, social and super enjoyable — we’d definitely book again 😊
I had such a wonderful day with Margies big day out. The tour was really well organised, with a great balance of wineries, food, and fun. Our guide was friendly and made everyone feel comfortable, and the atmosphere was relaxed the whole day. It was the perfect way to experience the Margaret River region — highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality wine tour with a bit of personality!
Such an amazing day, highly recommend this company. The wineries we visited were outstanding. Our lunch was amazing and so big. Loved our driver, he was so knowledgeable and such a nice guy, kept us well informed all day, even down to the finest detail of asking all of us to choose our music preference, so we all danced in our seats along the way between tastings…. So much fun.
We organised a private tour with Margies for our mates Bucks Do. Was a great time, We were well looked after, pumping the tunes and sorted out a full agenda for us. Each of the brewerys and wineries stops were friendly and accommodating and the day ran smoothly. Legends
My partner and I were down south visiting family and decided on a wine tour. The people we dealt with at Margies were so accommodating - from our change of pick up location, getting us in a tour last minute and dropped off at a different location at the end. The tour was great fun! Amazing people, good vibes, music pumping and enjoyed a drink or two. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much :)
The tour was rescheduled from our initial dates due to company policy moving us to a day earlier. Overall we felt the tour lacking value for money. We thought the tour might provide some overarching information about the region however non was provided, not even durations between stops. The Houghton vineyard was our only enjoyable stop. The other 2/3 vineyards were poor quality where the majority of the group didn’t enjoy the wines, I also felt very rushed through the experience. When there are such amazing vineyards in the area why have two bad stops that don’t appreciate customers. The lunch was a platter mostly of bread and dip and the complimentary beer/wine was not provided. It’s almost laughable saying there was a chocolate tasting, the group were offered the opportunity to skip the stop, maybe we should have. The brewery had a great vibe but again we had to self fund this section, whilst this was noted in the booking information, when you add up the value for the day 1 beer wouldn’t have gone a miss. To finish we had a 80 minute round trip to return group members to busselton when we were led to believe it was a Margaret River town tour. For $170 and a the best rated tour, I would have rather had a massage and bottle of wine from the bottleo.
Brilliant day out everything was amazing highly recommend Nico was very informative and made our day
I had an absolute ball, lunch was divine! Highly recommended. Should have bought wine at the first establishment, going to buy more from the second place and loved the taste at the third winery.
Enjoyable experience. Our guide was experienced on the region & provided a great tour for all. We recommend this tour for anyone.
"180 degrees from actuality" was the email response when an email enquiry was sent. Myself and 2 friends were booked into this tour. 1/3 of us were unable to attend due to her 9 month old being unwell and needing to go to hospital. I rung in the morning to enquire about cancelling which unfortunately due to the 24 hour cancellation policy they could not refund, which we understood. That day, when we arrived at the first tasting, they asked how many people do we have which indicates they didn't have an exact amount of people booked in. At the second place, we drove in and out without stopping, unsure why. The third place we were not booked in and were forgotten about which resulted in not being able to have all of the tastings. We were told we would have a cheese platter for lunch and ended up with pizza which was rushed because we weren't booked in to this place. Organisers arranged a complimentary shooter at the next place for the trouble. We were an hour or so late to this place and had to rush to have the free shooter. I emailed the following day to ask for reimbursement of monies for the person who couldn't attend explaining the above and got a very rude reply which led with 'your 180 degrees from actuality', which I absolutely did not appreciate considering how expensive the tour is. They did not respond to my follow up email. I was disappointed in this experience and wouldn't recommend.
At Woody Nook the food was incredible! As were the wines, also Niko the guide was so helpful, chilled out and informative about the area. We really enjoyed the chocolate factory - I’d really recommend this tour, I think it’s different each time which is testament to the variety available Margaret River
It was a great day out. Different winery's and a couple places that had beer. Excellent lunch. Great group of people
Tour guide very low energy/ unapproachable and gave limited notice of times at venues. The tastings were very dragged out and there was no option to get a drink of choice at winery’s. Lunch was not good, pizza only with limited toppings & for the price of the tour was disappointing.
It would have been good if the driver/guide had a microphone as it was difficult to hear. Tastings at the Grove and brookland were very good however tastings at Knotting hill was very rushed. Difficult to know which wine we were tasting. Lunch was excellent. All in all a good day out
Main cons of the wine testing: We were unlucky that pick up location of other passengers were over an hour away from Margaret river, we were picked up first, and therefore had to spend 2 hours on the shuttle bus before we started the wine tasting. Lunch unfortunately was not as described (doesn’t have salad or fries) Only one of the wineries (visited 3) was actually nice and knowledgeable.
Bus was quite old and dirty, wineries where great a little extra time at 2nd winery needed.as it was rushed..lunch(pizza) was also great. Chocolate icecream place was very poor
Tour was cancelled abruptly with only 2 days noticed after being booked weeks in advance due to other visitors cancelling their tour. Very disappointing customer service + nightmare as I had booked this trip for my parents who are visiting from the UK and are only down in Margaret river for one day. Still awaiting refund but hopefully this will come through soon. I wouldn’t recommend booking with this service if you want reliable !
First cellar door stop we were there at wrong time so double booked. Bus was unclean aircon smelt. Driver hardly interacted with us. Drive was uncomfortable and one passenger was car sick. Nothing to help with her or to clean up. Overall not a good experience.
Terrible experience; two people left behind the driver went back and all tour was delayed. No comments provided for the wine testing or presentation of locations to be visited. The microphone was not working so only few people in the front understood the driver's instructions. I give one star for the driving skills. The worst wine testing I ever done.
Make sure you have breakfast beforehand as it's a long day. The first vineyard was Jarvis estate, this was fantastic, wines were incredible, the somelia was amazing, so entertaining, easy to talk to. 10/10 The next place we had a couple of potent cocktails. The second vineyard knottinghill we felt rushed, the description given for each wine was just the same. 10/10 for our guide who was a character lol he was interesting to talk to he interacted with everyone and was knowledgeable. His playlist was epic. It's a long day, we were shattered afterward
I booked 4 tickets on Margies Big Day Out Beer and Wine Tours for August 23rd 2024 and I would just like to say how disappointing this tour was for our entire group. In fact I think the advertising for the tour was quite deceptive. Firstly I want to make clear that the tour guide, Simon, was great and the other tour participants also very good company. Our complaint is that the tour did not deliver what it advertised. We came to Margaret River to experience some of the excellent wineries it is famous for and this is what we thought we were purchasing on this trip. We understood we had booked a Margaret River Beer and Wine tour and were astounded to find ourselves on the road back to Busselton (where we had already spent the previous 6 days), because the company were experiencing difficulties with available busses and drivers. If the company did not have the appropriate personnel then they shouldn’t have accepted bookings! So we had a 50km drive before the day started and again at the end of the day. I’m not sure whether it was because of these difficulties, but we were then taken to an experimental wine maker where the wine was less than acceptable- surely in such a famous wine growing area something better could have been offered. The next winery was quite good and lots of interesting information about organic wine growing imparted. The last winery was more mainstream but overpriced and uninspiring. We had lunch at a brewery which was either a hamburger or fish and chips but came without even a complementary drink. We may have visited this brewery but there were no tastings- so to say it was a beer and wine tour was a bit of an over reach. The promised beer and cider tasting did not happen. We arrived at the last stop, the second brewery to simply purchase a drink and chat to fellow travellers- once again purchase your own drinks (at least this time the brochure had clearly stated this would be the case). The brochure for the trip clearly states: tastings of food, wine, beer and cider. It even says “Lunch at Bootleg Brewery along with a beer and cider tasting” Well the only food tasting was the free chocolate buds as you walked into the chocolate factory (available to ALL visitors) and there was NO beer and cider tasting anywhere. Our stops at wineries were also shortened by the travel time to pick up guests outside Dunsborough. We have travelled extensively in Australia and overseas and feel this trip, in a beat up old bus, was overpriced and deceptive in its advertising. In total the 4 of us paid $640 for this tour and we feel totally ripped off! Karen
Simon is a great tour guide! There was a good selection of wineries to visit, plus a great lunch and some sneaky chocolate! Great people on the tour as well, we had a lot of fun together. It's so nice to just be driven around and having all the 'thinking' taken out
We had a great time and made new friends. The selection of wineries and breweries were fantastic and the driver was so nice and accomodating! Definitely want to go again
It was a great experience! We spent the day with a lovely group. A plus was Russel who made our tour more enjoyable Thanks from 🇧🇷
We had a fantastic day. Great food, great wine and great vibes :) Simon was an excellent driver and was happy to let us stay a little longer at the final brewery. Thanks team!
We had a great day out. Dan was a fantastic tour guide. We would highly recommend and would do this again.
Dan was a fantastic host / driver. Knowledgeable and sociable, he helped bring the group together. Great tour of vineyards and breweries, the highlight of our amazing trip to Margaret River
This tour unfortunately fell short of expectations, especially when compared to experiences with other tour companies. Regrettably, the most memorable aspects of this tour were all negative. The tour comprised 17 people, and the bus provided was old and noisy, lacking a microphone, forcing the driver to raise their voice to be heard. Additionally, we were instructed to wait on the side of a road with passing cars exceeding 100km/h to be collected, which felt unsafe. As the last passengers to board the bus, my companion and I were situated at the front, unexpectedly tasked with managing the antiquated bifolding door and ensuring all passengers were aboard before departure. This responsibility seemed disproportionate for only two individuals in our group, leaving us puzzled as to why it wasn't the driver's duty. It was evident that the tour had overshot its original booking, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among the venues visited. Having previously enjoyed tours with other companies in both the South West and Swan Valley regions, this experience fell short and left much to be desired. Overall, while other tours in similar regions had been delightful, this one unfortunately failed to meet expectations, resulting in disappointment.
Absolutely amazing!! Simon the bus driver was so friendly and the group we were with was a great vibe!! 10/10
Good experience, Jarvis wines was the pick of the day. Lunch was lovely at brewery, was a good day out.
This is a wine tour for a younger crowd or inexperienced wine tasters. You don’t get a ‘tour guide’ you get a driver basically. More interested in sitting in the bus and watching his Netflix. Communication between your group and venues was very poor, as a group we found ourselves sorting many things ourselves. The brewery’s disappointing.
Great experience - pretty extensive tasting at 3 vineyards (6-8 wines for each one), all lovely wine and great hosts. Lunch is good, we were there for a while and we might have wanted slightly more substantial food. Brewery at the end was great.
Great service and good choice of wines too.We had a great day. Dan was great but could of known a little bit more about the region.
Great day with Dan and two other couples, had some good laughs about the age gap between us and the other couples. Overall great day and brilliant wine selections. The few places we did stop was Jarvis estate, woody nook, bootleg brewery for lunch but the best was probably Gabriel chocolate after lunch. It was brilliant to go to a not so popular choice for a change. After that we made two more stops and they were both great selections. A day definitely worth the money
Our driver Simon was great what he didn’t know he would find out. Lunch was perfect as was the beer and cider. Would highly recommend
