Don Carlos Marbella

Our stay at Don Carlos Marbella was nothing short of breathtaking. As travelers whose baseline standards are set by Design Hotels, The EDITION, Bulgari, and Leading Hotels of the World, we have high expectations for both aesthetic execution and service polish. Don Carlos hit that exact design band effortlessly—delivering chic, sophisticated decor and an impeccable atmosphere. But what truly set this property apart was the service, which frankly operated a tier above our usual benchmarks. As a young family traveling with our newborn, hospitality can sometimes feel transactional or rigid at luxury properties. Not here. Don Carlos went completely above and beyond for our son, providing proper bath amenities and a real, premium crib rather than a standard, collapsible pack-and-play. What truly touched us, though, was the genuine warmth from the entire team. Every single staff member took the time to talk to our baby and make him smile at every opportunity. In our extensive travels, this level of heartfelt, intuitive warmth is surprisingly rare. Special recognition goes to Emidio, whose exceptional professionalism and care embody the very best of luxury hospitality. Staff members like Emidio are the reason a property builds a stellar reputation—and they are the exact reason guests like us will return time and time again. Don Carlos is a masterpiece of design, warmth, and peerless service. We cannot wait to come back.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Don Carlos Marbella and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere is very relaxing, the service was excellent, and everything felt very well organized from start to finish. We especially enjoyed the pool and beach club areas, the spa, and the overall quality of the resort. A very special mention goes to Miruna from the reservations team, who was fantastic from our very first conversation. Her attention and support really added a personal touch to our stay. Highly recommended!

The hotel and most of the staff were amazing. We chose this hotel for a variety of reasons, mainly as it had beach facilities and a pool by the beach and this is where the hotel was let down. Supposedly they have franchised out all the beach areas and it is a mess and poorly staffed and it just doesn’t work. As an example, we get up early and like to head to the beach. Whether it be at the pool or the beach you can't use a bed or get any towels until 10:00. Some people might think that is acceptable, but I am up early and don’t want to be queuing first thing in the morning to get a bed ! We went to the pool side restaurant on the first day at around 13:00 and it was empty and we were told as a hotel guest, that unless we had a reservation, there were no tables available. We ended up getting food delivered to our beds which was fine, but we should have been allowed the choice. Whether we sat by the pool or the beach, the service was dreadful. It would take 3-5 attempts to get an order placed for simple things like a bottle of water. No one seemed to care and if complained, I was told they were not part of the hotel and speak to someone that cared. After the above I complained to a senior member of the staff which I never do and no response other than an apology at the time and when I left and paid my final bill I complained again and again no response. For an expensive FIVE star hotel, not very impressive and we won't be going there again!

This was truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. I visited from July 1 to July 11, and every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel is beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and located in a fantastic area. The restaurants offered excellent food and outstanding service, making every meal a pleasure. Throughout my stay, every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. I was also pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded my room to another room of the same category as a thoughtful gesture, which I greatly appreciated. Small touches like this reflect the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, this is a first-class hotel that excels in every way. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional service, comfort, and a memorable stay, and I look forward to returning in the future.
