This hotel was amazing. The service and staff were fantastic. The rooms were super clean and constantly serviced. Staff were very responsive to any needs or questions we had. Amazing spacious suite space for families. Location was perfect… walkable to stores and great restaurants. We saw a howler monkey right by the pool area. Saw macaws. As far as View of the ocean I would say it was a “partial view” but it was very beautiful nonetheless. We were a little sad that the beach wasn’t open but they made full accommodations at a nearby beach. Melissa at the front desk was always super friendly smiling and helpful. Pool area and service was amazing. Even the bathrooms near the pool were super clean and beautiful. The Fun Game room for the kids was an added bonus. Besides the beach access being closed, The only other negative I would have is the dinner at the restaurant wasn’t great. Very average meal. (Lunch by the pool was great but dinner not so much) We were a little disappointed with that. So I recommend eating outside the hotel for dinner…. And There are so many restaurants walkable in town. (Aqua azul is fun and amazing. As well as Emilio’s! Don’t be fooled thinking Emilio’s is a coffee shop. It’s a great restaurant for dinner with amazing service and food) —— Overall it was an amazing stay. We will be back. Book 17B or 28A for the best views

I only have positive things to say about Los Altos. Our room - which was an entire condo was beautiful! Loved sitting on my balcony every morning and listen to the howler monkeys. We stayed last August, so this is a bit delayed review. When we stayed we were so pleased with the service. Jefferson and Sebastian. We also loved Franklin but it seems he might not work there any longer? We LOVED !!! We walked to Emilio’s 2x for breakfast and dinner, so it’s a great location.
My stay at Los Altos Resort in Costa Rica was honestly one of the best trips I’ve ever experienced. From the moment I arrived, everything about the resort exceeded my expectations. The rooms were absolutely beautiful—spacious, clean, and designed with a perfect mix of luxury and comfort. Waking up each morning to the stunning views made the experience even more unforgettable. What really made the trip stand out, though, was the staff. Every single worker I interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect, whether it was answering questions, giving recommendations, or just making sure I felt at home. Their positive attitude and attention to detail made a huge difference. Overall, Los Altos Resort is an amazing place to stay if you’re visiting Costa Rica. Between the gorgeous rooms, the beautiful surroundings, and the outstanding service, it’s a trip I’ll never forget and would highly recommend to anyone.
Great wildlife and amenities, but layout and service issues for a 4-star stay. We booked a Treetop Suite at Los Altos for 4 nights mostly as Tulemar was unavailable, but we will mostly stay at an Airbnb next time. While the stay was hampered by functional and service misses, there were some positives to the property. The Pros: 1. Suite Amenities: We loved having a full kitchen in our suite, and we really appreciated thoughtful details like having USB plugs conveniently located throughout the rooms. 2. Wildlife: The property is a natural gem. Seeing monkeys and iguanas right on the grounds was a major highlight for us. The Cons: 1. Room Design & Rules: The 'modern' open bedroom layout is flawed—any movement triggers motion-sensing lights that woke up our baby at night. None of the showers had handheld heads, and the property is strictly non-smoking, meaning you have to leave the hotel entirely just to smoke. 2. Facilities: The shared 'private beach' is small and rocky, and the main pool is too small for the hotel's capacity. The game room is outdated , ill maintained and mostly unusable (damaged pool table felt, a damaged basketball, and a broken air hockey table). There is also no self-service laundry, this was a big miss for a beach resort. 3. Dining & Service: There is no breakfast buffet (strictly a la carte) and a steep $15 room service surcharge that often costs more than the food. Housekeeping was hit or miss—great on day one, but later forgot fresh towels and toilet paper. We also experienced communication issues with the front desk over drink coupons and the concierge regarding Manuel Antonio bookings. The Verdict: Local Airbnbs offer private pools, reliable housekeeping, and even private chefs, which triumph over this experience.
AMAZING!!! This was our second time staying in Manuel Antonio and this was by far the best hotel choice. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful staff and escorted to the most beautiful villa. We had our own private butler that would help us with anything we needed. We did have a minor electrical issue which resulted in us moving to a suite for one night, but the staff were amazing and even with the minor issue, we wouldn’t have changed a thing! They have their own restaurant, pool, beach, and spa as well. All are amazing. The food was incredible and you can tell they have an amazing chef who uses top ingredients. They even have their own bees that make honey on the property. To top it off, they have their own beach with the most beautiful sunsets and the sweetest gentleman (Jeremy) who was so accommodating would get anything we needed. It is a little rocky so definitely wear water shoes, but they have beach chairs so not a big deal.
