Absolutely amazing trip - very professional, interesting and safe. Would recommend to all. Transfers were super efficient, fantastic location, great food and varied experiences of the Amazon. Big thanks to Kennedy and Jon who made the trip extra special and one to remember.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Our day starts at 7:30 am when we pick you up from your hotel in Manaus. We head to the Ceasa Port where you will board a speedboat along the Rio Negro. As we navigate the waters, the first stop on the trip is the floating village of Catalão. Here we will visit a fish farm where you can see the Giant Arapaima Gigas, the largest scaled fish in the world. You will be able to feed them and feel how strong they are! After visiting the fish farm, we proceed by speedboat to the meeting of the waters. Here the Rio Negro and the Solimões River meet but don’t mix. Afterward, we continue along the river to the Careiro village. From there we will continue by road for about an hour to Maçarico lake. The final leg is by speedboat and you will arrive at the lodge at about 11:30 am. At noon, delicious local cuisine will be served for lunch.
At 3:00 pm, we will head out on a canoe trip. On this trip, you’ll see the world-famous Amazon Pink River Dolphin, as well as an array of colorful birds. We’ll also get a chance to do some piranha fishing. We’ll stay out on the water until about 6:30 pm when we’ll watch the beautiful sunset, and at 7 pm we’ll return to the lodge for dinner. We head back on the waters at 8:30 pm in search of the fearsome Cayman. Your jungle guide will snatch a Cayman out of the water, allowing you to learn more about it up close, after which it’ll be carefully returned to its habitat.
Day 2
2
The second day of our trip starts early, at 5 am. We will depart from the lodge at 5:30 am on a motorized boat to a serene spot to watch the jungle waking up to a new sunrise. Afterward, we head back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast in preparation for our morning trek. During the walk, your jungle guide will share valuable knowledge about the Amazon. You will learn many interesting things, such as the medicinal plants of the Amazon, as well as all the insects that call it home. You’ll also have a chance to see many of the native wildlife, like cheeky monkeys! Once the trek has been completed, it’s back to the lodge for lunch.
At 3 pm our afternoon activities start. We’ll take a canoe to Várzea forest, an area flooded with many small channels and waterways. You’ll get a unique perspective of the Amazon, learning much about the flora and fauna found here. During the dry season, this trip is done on foot since there is no water from August to March. This is a good area for spotting animals like monkeys, sloths, and some birds. When we finish, it’s back to the lodge for dinner.)
Day 3
3
Our day starts at 7 am when breakfast is served. At 8 am we’ll head out and visit a local family that lives along the river. You will learn about their simple, but wonderful way of life. You will see how they grow their own food and have the chance to taste local fruits. On the way back to the lodge, you will have the opportunity to swim in the river, having fun the way the local Amazonian people do. At 1:00 pm we’ll head back to Manaus, either to the airport or your hotel. We expect to arrive at around 4:00 pm.

I really enjoyed staying with you! They will share so many knowlegde about the area. So cool! And all the dolphins wauw!! Would 10/10 recommend this
This was the best part of our trip around the country. Our guide, Sophia, knew everything and everybody as she grew up on the tributary where Tapiri Lodge is located. We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers and she made it fun and exciting for all. The lodge itself is clean and comfortable, with good food and is right where the river dolphins like to hang out. The logistics were very well organized and we can only say great things. We highly recommend Joshua’s expeditions and Sophia as your guide!
Programs: Good. We have seen and learned a lot from the activities. Guide: Our tour guide Motta is very good. same the the boat operator. We were really pleased to have them both. Food: Simple, fresh. Taste very good. Much better than the fancy restaurants in Manaus. Room: Terrible!!! The river water is not filtered well. It is yellow and smells. We used bottle water to brush teeth. The air conditioner is broken. Imagine sleep in the hot and humid room without air conditioner. I was told the place is overbooked. They put us in the room that is supposed to be for the tour guides. This is NOT we paid $1100 for!!!
This is a very professionally organised trip. The lodge we stayed at was great, nice food and friendly staff. The boat trip and jungle walk are effectively private tours and our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and great company. I would highly recommend this trip! There is a fair bit of down time between the excursions so it worth bringing a book or two to pass the time
We had an absolutely amazing time with Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, exciting, and deeply memorable. Our guide, Julio, was outstanding—super knowledgeable, incredibly engaging, and fantastic with our kids. He made the jungle come alive with stories and facts, and his patience and warmth really stood out. The Tapiri Floating Lodge was a perfect base. The hosts were welcoming, the lodges were clean and comfortable, and the food was genuinely lovely. Even our picky 10-year-old happily ate everything offered—which says a lot! And of course, the Amazon itself was just spectacular. The wildlife, the river, the sounds—everything exceeded our expectations. I can’t recommend this trip enough for families or anyone looking to experience the Amazon in a safe, enriching, and unforgettable way.

Over the top! Our guide Ken was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to explain details of the rain forest and how tourism will help protect their environment. The lodge was basic but extremely clean and air conditioned. The food was basic with fish, chicken and beef but so delicious. I highly recommend this tour!
This was an incredible adventure. Kennedy, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area. He could name all the birds and monkeys. The activities were varied and suitable for the rainforest adventure. The lodge was also nice. Nelson, the owner, was kind. The food was tasty, and the sleeping accommodations were simple yet appealing. Our room even had an air conditioner. Don’t forget to spy on the bats in the dark near the lodge.
Lodge was nice but water was brown. Fortunately, the lodge provided refillable drinking water, which we used to brush our teeth. Bring your own shampoo and soap. And don't forget the repellent. Our guide, Daniel, was a passionate guide. He did not only share information but even bought local snacks for us to experience. I liked David, the local guide, as well. Very patient in looking for fauna for us to see. Though he didn't know how to speak English, he told us stories about the Amazon through Daniel. Very happy with this pair.
We had a great time with our peer travelers and our tour guide Motta was great. He spotted all the wild animals and shared his knowledge of Amazon untiredly. We enjoyed the trip very much. Wish there is a 4.8 rating instead of either star or 4 star rating, the only hesitation we had is about the facility. The water from shower, faucet, and toilet flush were all dark brown with large unknown debris, same happened to our peers' rooms. It appeared that water filter system is barely there. We barely wash face, and had to use bottled water to brush teeth. If you are sensitive on water quality then you may have to consider this factor. Otherwise we enjoyed the trip.
I have good days there with friends. It is a kind of relaxing rather than exploring. It suitable if u want to find a peaceful place for holiday.
Superb guide (Paulo) and great itinerary. Food was fairly basic and local style. It was nice to try local dishes and produce. Got to see quite a lot of wildlife and learnt a lot about the history and how the locals live.
Great experience! Logistics and transport extremely well organized - Lodge facility was comfortable - Our guide, Paulo was a wealth of knowledge - saw all types of assorted wildlife - had river dolphins in front of our lodging everyday!
Unique experience on one of the Amazon rivers. Joshua, the owner, is immediately accessible at all times. This tour is complex with cars, vans and boats, yet is superbly and flawlessly organized—everyone involved is always on time, unusual in South American culture. Ken, our guide, is so knowledgeable and passionate about the environment. Gustavo, the other guide, is amazing in his ability to find animals to observe. David, our driver in Manaus, had much information about the city and was enormously helpful when we had to change hotels. The accommodations are rustic, but the air conditioning was great to escape the heat and humidity of the Amazon. The quality of the food was marginal, the only real negative to this tour, but was plentiful.
Visiting the Amazonia with the guide Toniel was incredible. He answerd all our questions and was very professional and authentic. We had such a lovely time in the jungle! Beautiful lodge, great food and nice hosts! Safe and quiet place. We would recommend it! Anna and Arianna
We had a great time. Our guide Marcus was very knowledgeable and it was obvious that he enjoyed sharing his passion about life in the rainforest. Tapiri Floating Lodge provided us with lovely home cooked meals. Glad we had accommodation with air condition otherwise it would have been hard to sleep.
This tour was honestly amazing! Beyond any expectations that we had 😊 - they arranged for us to be picked up right from our hotel in Manaus, and arranged all the boat/truck transport needed to get us to and from the lodge - once there we got to enjoy multiple wildlife spotting boat rides each day, piranha fishing, a jungle hike, caiman catching, and a whole lot of jungle history/facts from our guide Ken - he was amazing and made sure we had a great time and saw as much as we possibly could in our few days there - Tapiri Lodge had everything we needed for our adventure, and they were even able to accommodate me being a vegetarian in the meals they served - would totally recommend this for anyone wanting to get away from reality for a few days and just enjoy everything the Amazon Jungle has to offer 😊
This tour is perfect. Our guide Kenedy has solid knowledge about Amazon, and he is able to answer all our questions about the forest like climate, species and culture. The lady of the lodge cooks well. Everything is amazing and beyond our expectation!
This was an incredible experience for 3 days and two nights. The journey from Manaus itself was an adventure !! The river lodge is simple but adequate. It is clean and the surrounding view is beautiful. Our guide Gilmar is very friendly, knowledgeable and he looked after us very well. The home cooked food was very tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed all the adventures and piranha fishing and baby caiman catching at night were incredible. We would highly recommend this company. Everyone has tried their best to help and support us including the owner !!
Our guide spoke amazing English and caught a Caimen with his bare hands! Food was excellent and everything was first rate!
We felt well taken care of the whole trip - Joshua's brother Marco even took us to and from the airport. We went on a private tour with our very talented guide Titan, and we got to do everything we wanted to on this short 3D/2N trip. It was exactly as advertised, and for a reasonable price. Holding wild cayman, fishing for piranhas, canoeing through the sunken forest, seeing all sorts of wild animals - it was beyond amazing. Make sure you bring binoculars! Highly recommended.
There is no one better to explore the Amazon with, exceptional service, collected us from the airport and dropped us off. i would recommend him to anyone. the catering and Nelsons lodge was excellent, great attention to detail. Great Experience, and we wish you all the best Joshua. From South Africa
it was an incredible and unforgettable adventure, it is something we would definitely do again, our guide was always attentive, answered our questions and in general was a very good guide, all the people we met were very kind and there was always good communication if you wish to do this activity I recommend you bring good repellent and sunscreen, and as an extra some binoculars, managing to see the animals in nature is more difficult so they would be very helpful
An incredible experience from start to finish. Tapiri Floating Lodge is a wonderful place, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and with an incredible connection to the Amazonian nature. Our guide, Sofia, was excellent: super friendly, professional, and with a lot of knowledge about the jungle, the fauna, and the region. The jungle hikes were very well organized and provided a great experience to truly get to know the Amazon. We also greatly enjoyed the activities on the river, the spectacular landscapes, and the tranquility of the place. Undoubtedly, one of the most extraordinary moments was being able to experience the pink dolphins up close; something truly magical and unforgettable. The accommodation and the experience were excellent. Totally recommended.
Unforgettable experience with great guide (Kendrick, Jungle boy), everything worked out great
Exploring the Amazon with Toniel, an experienced guide from Joshua's Amazon Expeditions, was an unforgettable experience for us. Our guide grew up in a tribe here in the Amszonas. He was able to give us valuable knowledge about plants, animals and culture. In addition, his English was very good. We were lucky that there were only two of us on the tour all day. That made it even more personal. I would also like to praise the Capten who drove us everywhere and accompanied us. He responded so well to us and immediately went slower than we wanted to take a photo or video. Great compliment! The lodge was clean, lovingly prepared and the food the best I had here in Brazil. So simple and so fresh and good! My girlfriend is an omnivore and I'm vegan. You have fulfilled all wishes. Awesome! The Amazon touched our hearts deeply and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I really want to come back. Many thanks to Toniel, Jordana from the office, to the transport drivers, to the lodge operators and to the captain. Thank you very much for everything!
We would be very well looked after and received. Much has been learned about river life and the rainforest.
We have no comparison as this was our first jungle tour, but it couldn't have been much better! We booked the 3 day/2 night tour at the Amazon Tapiri Lodge and would do it again. The payment process in advance was easy and shortly before we set off we received more detailed information about our trip. We were picked up at the hotel by our guide Kennydy. He accompanied and guided us the entire time until he dropped us off at the hotel at the end. We were extremely lucky with our guide, who not only spoke perfect English but also knew the jungle very well thanks to years of experience. Thanks to him we learned a lot about birds, the trees, the people and life in the Amazon. He was very committed, friendly and did everything to make sure we were comfortable and had an unforgettable trip. The arrival and departure were very well organized, the necessary boats and cars were always ready so we never had to wait. The Amazon Tapiri Lodge is a "floating house" right in the Amazon, so the dolphins swim just a few meters away from you. Our room was simple and rustic, in keeping with the jungle, but clean and there was air conditioning and mostly electricity. The food was really good, freshly prepared with local ingredients and fish we caught ourselves. We did all of the experiences described on the website and every single one was impressive. In particular, the piranha fishing and the nighttime caiman spotting, where Kennydy caught a caiman with his own hands, will stay in our memories forever. We would book with Joshua's Amazon Expeditions again and again and can only recommend this trip to adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts. Thank you for this unforgettable time, Kennydy!
