Our guide, Dennis, was great! He was very attentive, took pictures and explained things along the way. The tour was as described. Our boat was a little rough but got us around. The lunch they served was very good. Overall it was a great experience.

The most impressive phenomenon when two different rivers run side by side without mixing.
A village with over a hundred families living on floating houses floating in a lake with school, church, grocery shops etc.
In this floating village we'll visit a fish farm to play with the biggest species of fish with scales in the world. the Pirarucu AKA Arapaima. A true river monster.
In this park we will have lunch with a delicious regional cuisine with a big variety of fish, salads etc. In your tour you will have a drink that can be a soda, a regional juice made with mineral water or a water bottle. but you can also buy beer if you want. There's also a souvenir shop at this place that takes credit card, USD and local currency.
In this indigenous village we will learn more about the life and culture of the first true amazonian people and see how the keep their traditions and want to share with us about their lifestyle. You will also participate on a traditional ritual and if you want you can also buy some souvenirs.
In this region we will visit a platform where the National institute of research on Amazonian Pink river dolphins is held. In this platform we will learn more about these amazing creatures that live free in the region and come very close for interacting with us. You will be able to enter the water and have this unforgettable experience with them.

This is a standard itinerary for the river tour from Manaus, but the key difference was a small group. We were just 5 people, and we had a boat for our mini group. Thus swimming with dolphins and arapaima "fishing" was really enjoyable without any crowds. The itinerary was nicely scheduled, a pace was relaxing. I liked the tour overall.
Pickup was prompt. Guide David spoke good English and was attentive throughout. Swimming with the pink dolphins was a highlight for me while hand feeding the little monkeys was my husband’s favorite part.
Amazing trip and covered so many activities in a packed itinerary. Personal highlights were swimming with the pink dolphins and the fish farm. Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. It did rain all day and there were some moments I thought maybe it was inappropriate to bring our 2 year old on the tour...but she was very well-behaved and seemed to enjoy most of the tour. The rain was certainly something to overcome but it seemed pretty fitting given the setting. Given that we only had two days in Manaus, I would say that it was the best way to experience the rainforest of the Amazon in such a short space of time.
This was a full day tour beginning with a swim with the amazing Dolphins. Daniel kept us informed of everything along the way and was a perfect host. Lunch was good and the incredible views of the 2 rivers were incredible. Great value for money for a day long trip.
My sister and I had a wonderful time! The tour guide and other staff were simply amazing! the places we visited were so wonderful! The Pink Boto was the greatest experience. Tour guide super friendly and knowledgeable. Simply perfect!
Wow wonderful relaxing day on the Amazon River! It is so huge! Did not expect the water to be so warm. Was so wonderful swimming with the dolphins! And the meeting of the water spectacular. Love the private tour option. Only recombination would be for the tour guide to explain what was locally made at the craft market and from what. Didn’t buy anything because don’t want things from China. Also guide should explain the food at the buffet as didn’t know what anything was?
We did this tour as a group of four — a couple in our 30s and our mums in their 60s — and all of us absolutely loved it. It’s been the highlight of our trip so far. Our guide, Leo, was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly, and took the time to explain everything we were seeing along the way. We were a little worried that a 9-hour tour would feel too long, but the day flew by. The stops were incredible: swimming with the pink dolphins, visiting the Indigenous village, and all the smaller sights we explored throughout the day. The included lunch was also really enjoyable. Overall, it was well worth the money, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Manaus. A must-do experience!
You get a bit of everything! Within the 8 hour tour we got to swim with dolphins, meet an indigenous tribe, sample their food, go on a short rainforest hike, see the meeting of the waters, eat a buffet lunch, feed the arapaima (huge Amazonian fish), see a floating village, and experience it all on a small boat making the experience very personalized. Be ready for a long but rewarding journey.
Trip with Milton Fernandez: Amazon Private tours.com: We signed up for 4 days of tours with Milton before our iberostar cruise.…What a great experience traveling with such an interesting guide. Milton spoke more than a few languages along with excellant English. We took Milton’s company’s River Day tour for 9 hours in a speed boat with 6-8 other people. I was nervous about being “nimble” enough to get in and out of the smaller boat when we came ashore but i had lots of help. We saw so much in 9 hours it was amazing..The highlight was swimming with the pink dolphins..We stopped mid day for a great buffet lunch on the rivers edge with a short walk to see giant Lily Pads.We took 3 more tours with Milton’s company; all were great! Milton was a terrific guide who has lived in Manaus all his life.. He is even better than his reviews! He would even stop to help other tourists that were lost or were trying to contact their guide. Thank you Milton for showing us so much in one day!
Milton and his team are professional, helpful, responsive and very efficient. We had a brilliant time on the full day river tour. Denis our tour guide was engaging, courteous and knowledgable. The whole day was just what we were all hoping for.
Being our first time in the Amazon I would highly recommend to take a trip with this company. The experience was great!! The tours guides are very respectul and fun. My friend and I had priceless moments on the tours.
We had a young guide, Dennis, who was absolutely amazing! He speaks beautiful English and was so knowledgeable about everything to do with the rainforest!!
IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES WE HAD . MILTON IS A SUPER HOST AND VERY INFORMATIVE AND KIND . DENNIS OUR GUIDE AND THE CAPTAIN WERE REALLY VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS
We had a great time. Our tour guides were outstanding and gave us a great full day tour. I highly recommend everyone to try this experience and not to miss it.!!!
The list they provide is necessary. Swim trunks, etc BRING SUNBLOCK! Guide is quite informative and spoke English fairly well. Lunch was great! If you only have one day in Manaus this will cover the highlights.
What a wonderful day spent with Denis our guide!! The day was fully organized and ran extremely smoothly. Swimming with the pink dolphins was a highlight and a most memorable experience! Experiencing the indigenous tribe's village and dancing phenomenable. We appreciated the cultural experience... thank you. We loved the remote location for the buffet lunch..The food was excellent.. with big portions of salads.. fruits.. and local foods.. drinks.. a beautiful presentation. Denis was always aware and ready to aid with language differences wherever we went.. we appreciated your attentiveness Denis!! The floating village visit was relaxing and fun with the fishing.. We had plenty of time to soak it all in and enjoy!! The meeting of the waters was a highlight too.. being able to reach out and touch the water. This trip will always be remembered as a favorite! We will treasure the memories. One of our best day trips ever!!
This is an excellent tour that provides you an opportunity to see many key sights outside of Manaus. We were picked up on time and taken to our speed boat for our tour. We swam with the pink dolphins, had and excellent visit to a native village, lunch at a floating village, saw the large Lilly pads and the meeting of the waters. Our tour guide was very informative and spoke good English. If you are only in Manaus for a day this tour provides all the highlights.
Daniel our guide was outstanding!!!!! Very informative! Swimming with the pink dolphins were a once in a lifetime experience! The tribe visited was very enjoyable! Feeding the fish exciting! So much more information and other adventures packed into this tour! Meeting of the waters, lunch at a floating restaurant, the bridge, etc, on and on. Take this tour!!!! AAAAAAA+++++++
Trip started out badly as driver was over an hour late and we had to kerp trying to get updates. After that things moved smoothly. Great full day on the river. Highlight qas swimming with pink.dolphins in the wild. Bucket list! Another special thing was going to a fish farm where we got to fish for the contained monster fish, pirarucu. In the wild they weigh 400-600 lbs and are 3 meters long. When they grabbed your fish, it would take all your strength to hold on to your pole. Village visit qas delightful. Meeting of the Waters is more visible from our ship, since high up. We could see Ama#on, dirty brown, running side by side with the very dark Negro- not mixing. Dennis our guide was great!
Swam with pink dolphins, met with native tribes, saw floating village, fed giant eel-type fish, put hand in the meeting of the waters ! It was amazing and they really took great care of us, best tour I did in the Amazon !
We were very disappointed with the boat conditions and the guide. We were suppose to have a max of 10 people but we had 12 and not enough seats to sit on. The boat did not protect enough from the rain. To make things worse, the tour was supposed to to be English. It he spoke Portuguese more to the Portuguese guests and very little English even though there were more English speaking guests. The tour started late and then at the half way they added 3 more people when we did not have enough seats to begin with.
Our English-speaking guide was friendly, but he appeared relatively young and seemed to lack experience in conducting tours. With time and the opportunity to receive constructive feedback, his skills will undoubtedly improve. Overall, the tour was enjoyable. The walk uphill to the ruins, though short, was quite hot. It would have been helpful to receive a reminder to apply mosquito repellent beforehand. Coming from a much colder climate to this hot environment on our first day in town, we found the speed walking to the ruins a bit challenging. This was done to stay on schedule and meet another group, which unfortunately left little time for us to adjust. While the guide made lighthearted jokes about our need for breaks during the walk, they felt somewhat ill-timed given the circumstances. That said, the visit to the tribe and the excellent lunch at the floating restaurant were highlights of the experience. Seeing the river dolphins was truly unique and made for a memorable day. Oh and the fish farm was a lot of fun, getting to feed the huge fish was a highlight for all of us.
It was a very enjoyable day on the Amazon River. We played with the pink dolphins and saw the meeting of the waters! Awesome! Our guide Denis Ferreira was spectacular, his English was almost perfect and his knowledge of the area was extensive! Our boat driver “the General” did a great job of managing the waves and the river traffic. Overall we would highly recommend this tour.
Knowledgable and very attentive guide Great boat ride Lunch was also great A good and entertaining day was planned out
A amazing day on river Rio Negro ! Be prepared to ride over 70 miles on the river. The tour operators do a phenomenal job in getting their client the best experience. Our guide Dennis was great. The itinerary of the tour is very well developed and provides a great experience all day long. Plenty of bottled water and an excellent lunch is included.
Our guide and captain were GREAT! We had some rough waters and our captain was very skilled and I felt very safe. The guide took lots of pictures and forwarded them to us. Everyone was kind and we got to experience so many beautiful and interesting things. Great for kids!
I'm not someone who writes reviews often, but I felt the responsibility to share this one to help others the way I’ve benefited from other reviews. So here it is: If you want a private boat trip, this option is good for you. However, if you don’t mind sharing a boat with a couple of additional people and want to save $67.44 while getting the same experience, I recommend booking the Amazon Safari from Manaus instead. Aside from the boat trip being private, all other activities are shared with other visitors. I did both this tour and the Amazon jungle tour with this company, and while I was happy with the jungle group tour, I felt the river day tour was not worth paying triple the price of the Amazon Safari for the same activities. I spoke to someone the next day during the jungle visit who did the safari, and that’s how I found out it’s exactly the same. I had asked Milton about the differences before the tour, and he mentioned the only difference was the quietness, but it was too late for me to cancel. The guides are good, but if you’re unsure about which River Day Tour to choose from Manaus, I’d suggest going for the Amazon Safari and saving your $67. Uber is easy and cheap to get to the meeting point.
overall it was an ok trip, but it has some disappointing aspects. pickup by milton was smooth and on time at 8, also picked a couple up on the way so it was a tiny group of 3. milton was very nice and friendly. he dropped us off at harbor where we met our boat driver and guide for the day (prepare a tips for each if you can). they both did a good job on the tour. first we did swimming with dolphins which was nice. there are changing rooms at the facility and i was able to keep my bag / wallet in the boat. this was the first bathroom stop if you need, arrived there around 9:15. there is a submerged platform you can stand on where the feeding/baiting happens, but you can also swim out. the dolphins are not shy and will brush across your legs and body to get to the food. this is the best look at them you will get. then we did a village stop, where locals performed some dances and music. half the performers looked pretty bored and unmotivated. they have souvenir stalls all around the main room and they do take credit cards but the prices were more than 2x the souvenir shop you stop at during lunch, so despite wanting to support locals, I definitely do not recommend shopping here. they also do group picture with each visitor. then they will show you a table with some local food like smoked and boiled fish, some cut up fruit, yuca, yams, bamboo, and ants you can sample. also drinks you can buy. tip basket on the side. hygiene is very questionable here and the knife they were using to cut the fruit looked very dirty. also several people from the culture show had immediately changed into their casual clothes, breaking the immersion. then we went to a floating lunch buffet place. good lunch, scary bathrooms, lovely views, huge souvenir shop attached. lots of the same souvenirs as in manaus or from the previous stop. credit card machines available. then we went to the lily pads lake and jungle hike which was very disappointing. Per website description "After lunch we'll visit the lake of the Water Lilies to take some pictures and enjoy the amazing landscape." they only tell you on the way that unfortunately the lake is now completely dry and the lily pads are all dead. this should be made clear up front in the description. it felt dishonest. the walk to the lookout was less than 5 min and had no interesting views. instead you will dock on a beach completely covered with washed up garbage. kids will run towards you with captured animals like monkeys, sloth, macaws, for photo-ops (20 reals per animal). the guide warned us about this ahead of time, which I appreciated it. but it was still heartbreaking to see the distressed captured animals. the sloth was young and clearly crying and terrified. animal exploitation is a very ugly look. but most alarming of all was getting off the boat and onto the shore while there was sharp broken glass everywhere, very easy to trip and fall on to. especially for the couple with us who only had flip-flops. maybe not a problem doing the wet season. i do not understand why we did this stop as it took away a lot more than it added. the white sand beach activity was also not possible during the dry season but at least i knew because i asked before booking. then we went to another floating village to play-fish with pirarucu, which was nice. they had a macaw on the property but please don't scream at the macaw like some of the other idiot tourists were doing while also recording. then we went to the meeting of the water which was really nice. though on a separate tour i got a much better look at it, so your mileage may vary. the rides up and down the river were my favorite and you see how life here has completely adapted to the amazon river environment. the trash everywhere was really sad, the village and lily pad stops were disappointing. overall ok tour that was quite eye opening.
The high spot of my trip to the amazon! having been sorely disappointed with a trip on the Grand Amazon expedition boat by Iberostar, this more than made up for 3 days of disappointment. It did what it said it would and did not fail to deliver. our Guide was wonderful and she was well versed in all of the activities. Milton was a star and could not have been more helpful. My only regret is that I did not do the jungle tour with him. it was all very well executed. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to a have a full experience with little time available.
I contacted this company to inquire about the river day tour and swim with the dolphins online. Milton responded promptly with prices and confirmed my reservation. He contacted me by WhatsApp the day before the tour to provide pick-up time and other information. We were picked up at the hotel on time and were driven to the boat dock. The caption and guide were both excellent. They took us safely around Rio Negro. The boat was clean and well maintained. Lunch was included. The buffet was quite good. This full day tour is excellent. They delivered as promised. No hidden fees. A must do when visiting in Manaus.
From start to end this was an amazing experience for the day. I stuffed up and got my dates wrong. Milton was very accommodating and came to get me anyway to join the trip. We had a swim with the pink dolphins in the wild they just came to us. They seem to love humans even though they are the apex predator in the Amazon. No fear of piranha in the water as they stay away from the dolphins. Had a lovely lunch at a floating restaurant. Tried fishing picarucu at a fish farm ( species of prehistoric fish) no hook just bait no pain for the fish. Saw stilted village floating village meet with indigenous people in their malacca, ending the day at the meeting of the waters. Really well organised with lovely Christina our guide for the day. Couldn’t have asked for more it was magical
We had such a great time! Pick-up was on time at our hotel and we were taken directly to our boat. Our guide Dennis was AMAZING! So very knowledgeable and kind. Swimming with the pink dolphins, the floating community, lunch, and the meeting of the rivers were my favorite parts. The only downside was going back to the original point to pick up other people that seemed to have the half day tour. It took time away from how smoothly our tour was going. I will still highly recommend and return myself.
Actually going slowly though the narrow parts of the solimoes river and seeing the forest and wild life on either side.
The river day tour from Manaus was incredible and worth every penny! I’d give it 10 stars if I could. From the moment we booked and were contacted by Milton we felt well cared for. The trip is so well planned and each experience was wonderfully interactive and interesting. Milton, our driver, and our guide all spoke English making the experience so much better for our family. Our guide was so informative and friendly and attentive. I grew up in the area and still learned so much and did several new things I’ve never done - like swimming with a pink dolphin! Amazing! From pick up at our hotel to drop off we loved our day! This trip is perfect for young and old - we had from a 6 year old to an 80 year old in our group and everyone had a great time! The cherry on top was the next day when Milton contacted me that our child had left something behind, he immediately drove nearly 30 min to our hotel and dropped it off for us! Incredible! I can’t review this highly enough! Book with Milton and I promise you will not be sorry!
Absolutely unforgettable experience! Everything we did on this tour was perfectly crafted and enjoyable— for me, my 82 year old grandparents, as well as the teenagers that were with us. I cannot recommend this tour, tour company, and tour guide (Denis!!!) enough. I will never forget all of the special things we got to see and do in the Amazon!! (pair this tour with the “Whole Day in the Jungle” tour!!!!)
An amazing adventure! Louis was the perfect guide, he had answers for everything with his 20 yrs of experience. I would highly recommend this excursion.
Loved swimming with the dolphins and visiting an indigenous tribe. Arturo our guide was excellent! The only down side was the boat ride. Seats were so uncomfortable for such a long boat ride. Other that it was well the price.
Trip was very inclusive. Guide was informative. Boat ride very long to include all we did. Indian village very good. I would suggest a boat with forward facing seats. Side bench seats a little much for this long trip. Good value.
Fantastic trip words cannot express the hospitality knowledge and brilliance of how this trip us organized
One of the best run tours I have experienced on the 4mo 115day world cruise. Well planned and excited. Limited number of people.
We had a wonderful day on the river. Our ship was late getting in but we still managed to fit in so much in one day. The guide was very helpful although his English was limited. I would definitely recommend.
It was a dreary raining morning on the Amazon, and our tour was starting late because of our ship’s late arrival. Our guide Dennis started with a recommendation that we go downriver first instead of later, and save the swim with the pink dolphins for the afternoon. It turned out perfectly as we avoided most of the weather and enjoyed everything that was on the agenda ! It was a great day !
We are on a world cruise and had many tours but this one stands out as one of the best. A well run tour with great stops with a fabulous meal and a delightful tour guide.
We had the most fabulous day yesterday on this tour. We’d previously done a 4 day Amazon tour with another company and we did so much more on the River trip in just 1 day. It was amazing value for money. We didn’t think it could get better than the pink dolphins but then the Indigenous tribe visit was phenomenal. We were the only people there and they were so friendly and welcoming. We got to see them perform a ritual/ dance with music and we even joined in. Lunch was also absolutely delicious. Denis, our guide, was brilliant. He spoke perfect English and worked so hard to make our day special. He is a very hard working, caring and intelligent young man. Thank you for a wonderful day. Highly recommend!
The sights and attractions were good, but the trip logistics were poor: boat was too small for 6 guests (with lots of big luggage), tour started late, and the guide was quiet much of the time. Not worth the price ($100 per person).
Pick-up, boat travel, activities and lunch, and drop back were very efficient. Our guide, also was speedboat pilot, Lucivaldo, was very patient, knowledgeable, amenable, informative and a really nice guy to travel with. Milton the boss of the tour firm was prompt in reply to all enquiries. The dolphin and tribal community activities were delightful, a very nice lunch, and interesting jungle boardwalk.
Dennis and Joao made an excellent effort to ensure I could enjoy this trip swimming with the pink dolphins, fishing, visiting native communities and experiencing the crossing of the rivers. They were very knowledgeable, supportive and the landscape is amazing!
I HIGHLY recommend Amazon Private Tours. My friend and I were so impressed that we booked another tour with the same company for the following day. What I appreciate about Milton's tours are that they're in small groups (versus large tours that try to fit as many people as possible). It really was a private experience. Our tour guides were AMAZING (Fabinho on the first day, Denis on the second). Denis was so kind to take photos of us throughout the day with his professional camera. The highlight was definitely swimming with the pink dolphins (and again, because the tour group size is small, it was often just my friend and I swimming with them). On the first day, we went on the jungle tour (a 2-hour hike in jungle, swim with pink dolphins followed by a delicious fresh fish lunch, swim by the beach, fishing for piranhas, searching for alligators, watching the sunset). The following day we did the river day tour (meeting an Indigenous tribe, sampling their foods, swimming with pink dolphins, visiting floating houses by the river and having a buffet lunch there, meeting some of the animals in the jungle like monkeys, bird watching and discovering the huge lilly pads, and of course the meeting of the two Amazon rivers). Both tours were so different and unique that I'd recommend both (the jungle hike tour is probably for those who are more physically active). Doing both will give you a totally different experience and you'll come away wowed. Thanks again to Milton and the entire crew!
We saw most of the things we wanted to in one trip. It was great and Dennis and the boat captain were knowledgeable and helpful.
