Local understanding of Bahrain! The mosque and fort are highlights but the entire tour was great! Excellent tour!
Maher (guide) was superb. From regular communication ahead of hotel pick-up to knowledge of the sites we visited. It was a pleasure having a conversation with him including learning about his life story coming from Kuwait, has 22-year old boy/girl twins (as I do!), etc.
My family of 3 and I were visiting from the US and booked a half day trip with Maher Tour. OUR TOUR guide was SPECTACULAR in every sense of the word: from start to finish, Mr. Maher pick us up at our location. The van was cool and Accomodating, he started pointing out things immediately on our way to our first stop. He was patience, Informative, and always ensued we were hydrated, offering water. He took us into local shops, where we were offered complimentary sweet treats, recommended an Authentic Baharian restaurant in Yateem Center that was excellent. He rolled out the red carpet for us. Maher was a perfect guide for our 4 hour tour. He contacted us immediately after booking and was very flexible with the times. He is very knowledgeable guide and taught us so much about Bahrain. He was particularly astute st timing our tour as we had a running engagement at 2pm....so he showed us all the important things within the timeframe. particularly memorable was visiting the mosque at exactly the right time to hear the call to prayer. a fantastic tour...highly recommended

Ali was a very knowledgeable and personable guide. In addition to the tour itinerary, he showed us a few of the ancient burial mound sites. We also visited a site where we got great views of many of Manama's most beautiful buildings. It was a very worthwhile experience.

I highly recommend booking this tour with Maher, he was lovely and welcoming and we learnt so much about the history of Bahrain from him. The fort was closed for renovation but we were still able to walk round the outside at sunset. Having Maher at the Bahrain National Museum was great, there is no way would have left so well informed if we were touring on our own. The highlight of the tour was the Al-Fateh Grand Mosque, the mosque volunteer was a lovely man and we could have spoken to him all day!

Mr Maher a soft spoken well mannered and highly educated experienced person who conducted our tour in an excellent manner in the given time frame giving us a great insight of History of Bahrain. In spite of over 40 deg Celsius temperature and being Tuesday when the Bahrain Museum was closed he conducted our tour in a way as if nothing was missed out. He stopped at all those places enroute where we could take memorable photos and helped in clicking the photos also. His car is well-maintained and his driving is smooth. His narrations are precise. Thanks Mr. Maher for Kadak Chai and Samosa. We loved that.

The tour was excellent! My guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable; his English was excellent; and he seemed to know most of the people we encountered along the way. He was able to describe parts of the city that we did not have time to stop in. I could not have gotten a better feeling for the city, its heritage, and its evolving future.
Maher is the most pleasant, educational, and polite gentleman. He gave us an exceptional tour of Bahrain. He arrived at exactly the time he said, sent us a pic so we would recognize him, and had a nice car to drive us around the city. He was worth every penny and probably should be charging more. His English is perfect. He is a retired educator and shows in his passion to teach. He helped us practice our Arabic on him and even helped us negotiate good prices in the market when we asked him to help us find a few things we wanted. He even hooked us up with a friend of his for a tour Kuwait when we told him we were in need. That one was just as good.

Our tour guide, Maher, picked us up at our hotel and took us first to see the Al-Fateh Grand Mosque. Different from most mosques, you are encouraged to see the inside. As non-muslims we were asked to join a group of other non-muslims to get an short but insightful overview of Islam, the prayer times, the prayer, and the rituals before we get free time to take photos of this magnificent Mosque. All women had to wear the abaya throughout the visit, loaned for free by the mosque. The Mosque is an absolute must-visit regardless of your beliefs. From the Mosque we went to the National Museum of Bahrain which exhibit both the pre-historic and history of Bahrain. Our guide, Maher, guided us around to make sure we cover all parts of the museum and his knowledge of both the history and the exhibits was impressive. The Museum is well-designed and has lots of surprising exhibits. Next, he took us to a photo spot to take pictures of the skyline of Bahrain. From there to the Souq Bab Al-Bahrain that was worth the visit. the Souq (Market) offers everything, from spices to luxury carpets and everything in between. We were even able to buy some Bahrain souvenirs and tasted some local sweets. Finally, we visited the Qal-at al-Bahrain or Bahrain Fort. This historical site is surprisingly well-preserved and well-maintained. Lots of walking and going up and down, but worth the efforts. The Fort is also a great place to take photos of Bahrain's skyline. This tour is highly recommended. if you are lucky, you get Maher as your guide, who is also excellent at taking your photos.

We took this tour yesterday with Maher and from start to finish he was such an excellent guide. The tour started at a Mosque, onto a museum, Bahrain fort and a souq where we then stopped for lunch. there was so much variety and a really great overview of the country. Maher was informative and super kind making sure that we had seen everything, that all our questions were answered and also provided water. would recommend 100%

Maher was simply fantastic- he was deeply knowledgeable about every topic and question we raised (and we certainly asked no shortage of questions). Pearl trail 👣 was the highlight of this tour. The story of pearl diving economy in the Gulf region. Maher was able to reveal a lot of the stories about this part of history of Bahrain. The weather was not perfect but we managed to do it.
I had a 4-hour evening city tour with Maher in Bahrain during my transit time, taking Gulf Air. It was fascinating to visit Bahrain at night, when the weather was more bearable, especially in summer. Maher also helped me find a jersey of a local Bahraini football club Al-Muharraq, which was nowhere easy to find. I was very thankful for his work and would strongly recommend his tour.
We can not recommend this tour highly enough. The places you visit on the tour are both fascinating and stunning but what really shines is Maher, the awesome tour guide. He is very passionate and knowledgeable and also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. For him nothing was too much trouble and you are never rushed. We have loved every minute of our time in Bahrain but we can honestly say the time we spent on this tour is one of the highlights!

Very well organised tour around the Manama city if you’re pressed for time. Mr. Maher is a very friendly guide and got in touch well in advance of the trip. He was thorough, passionate and took care of all my needs as a solo traveller. I was quite impressed by Arab hospitality. Maher is a very good photographer too and knows the right locations to shoot. Tour delivers 100% on what it claims. I was in complete awe of the bustling souqs, culture, food, and rich history of the land. A very secure and comfortable way of exploring a new city for solo female travellers. Highly recommended!

I took this tour in the afternoon after arriving on a morning flight to Bahrain. This fwas the perfect amount of sightseeing for a half day, enough to see the highlights of the Manama area without being too exhausting after a flight. Maher is a very kind and knowledgeable tour guide. I especially enjoyed walking around the souq and eating a great grill meal at a restaurant suggested by Maher.
