Bahrain is an island rich in a number of natural resources. It is connected to Saudi Arabia via a 28 km Causeway. Our Guide Maher, a well educated man and well versed in Bahrain history, was on time after having contacted us on WhatsApp beforehand. Due to Ramzaan there were a number of restrictions on this tour. The included lunch of course didn't happen. We were first taken to the Royal Family Camel Farm where we saw many camels of different ages but unfortunately they were confined to small enclosures. It was sad to see how some of the handlers treated the captive camels in these small enclosures. We were told these were not racing camels and are not used for meat but just for the Royal family's entertainment. We went to the Formula 1 museum but did not see the race track as such, we were supposed to see it. We saw the relatively new Grand Mosque, not all that ornate but still very attractive. We saw only a small part of the very large and modern National Museum. In Bahrain there is a huge number of over 4000 year old Dilmund burial mounds in the open all over the place. We were able to see one explored mound close up. It has fascinating history. Not on same scale as the Pyramids but akin to them. We were also able to see the the Fort and its walls both inside and outside facing the sea. Quite a bit of "land" im Bahrain is actually "reclaimed" from the sea, just like other Middle East countries and Bahrain also has its fair share of the "new architectural" buildings. We also visited the Oil Fields and saw the First Derrick, which no longer produces any oil but it is almost a "shrine". We were supposed to see The Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia but we just drove past it, disappointing. All in all we did not cover all the items stated on the itinerary but our guide is excellent and very knowledgeable and more importantly very entertaining.

As other reviewers have said, Maher does an incredible tour. He is rightly proud of his homeland of Bahrain, and showed me and the other two guests the main sights of Bahrain with passion and detail. After the tour, I would recommend revisiting the main sights such as the Bahrain National Museum again to spend more time. There is also a great cafe at the museum to have a break. Also visit the National Theatre next door which you see from the outside of the tour, but a peek inside would be well worth it.
A comprehensive tour given by the very knowledgable guide Maher. Maher showed a high level of professionalism, was caring, had very clear English, was able to answer questions, was punctual, and importantly, a very safe driver! It was a little on the pricey side but meant that I got to tick off many of my must see locations such as The Tree of Life, Dilmun Mounds, a camel farm and the oil wells. We finished after 7pm, so a big day. The car was clean and comfortable. A great day!
Comprehensive Bahrain experience. We looked at the nation’s geography, economy, history, culture, cuisine and contemporary situation.
It was a full day south to north tour (9 am- 18-19 pm). It was containing the best and most of the tourist attractions in Bahrain. We started with the south part: we visited the dilmunian tombs, then we stopped at the very first oil well, we took amazing pictures with the tree of life, we saw the camping places of local people, we visited the Royal camel farm: the camels were very friendly, everybody could pat them. I got carried away by these sweet animals. Then we went to Formula 1. I don't have to say, that it was fantastic! We even were lucky, because (I think: maybe Formula 3 cars, but I am not sure) cars were practicing, so we took some awesome photos. In the store I am recommending to everybody to buy the magnet about the circuit. They are giving it in a very elegant way. It is a great souvenir or gift! Then we were taken to the north part. We visited Al Fateh Mosque, which is a must do activity. Is a beautiful mosque with a very well organized guided tour. Abayas are available for women (free of charge). We took amazing pictures with Bahrain's iconic building: the World trade center!!! Then we were taken to have lunch in a local restaurant. The food was very tasty! Again we were lucky, because we have seen an old car exhibition near to the Bab al Bahrain souq, which we visited. Here you can best feel the vibe of Bahrain! We visited the Bahrain fort as well, took a walk inside and around. We visited the Museum of Bahrain as our last stop. We did all these with our favourite guide, MAHER, who I can strongly recommend to everybody! We have especially requested Him, and we are so glad, that we did also this trip with him! He was sharing so many information about Bahrain's people, life, traditions, religions, industry. He gave us precious information also in the Museum as well, where he accompanied us and he explained everything step by step. He is offering hotel pick-up and drop-off as well. This again was very valuable, because we had our hotel outside Manama and the most guides are not willing to pick anybody of outside the marked area, which is Manama. Aaaand he gave us also something extra, which was not included in the program :)))). If you would like to find out, what, book with him! ;) Again I can only thank you, Maher, most sincerely, for these great days, and for being so professional and kind! You made us to love Bahrain!
We had an incredible time on our Half Day tour that we quickly turned into All Day with Maher as our resident tour guide and driver. He picked us up from our lodging on time. He communicated with us from the time of booking til pickup. We were a very small group, a total of 3 so we were able to ask questions and get in and out of places pretty quickly. We enjoyed a traditional lunch as well as a few other snacks and cold fresh drinks along our journey. This tour is perfect for all visitors to include children. The vehicle is very comfortable with nice air conditioning. We definitely recommend the all day tour as there is so much to see and do. One of my favorite stops was the camel farm. It seemed as if the camels knew Maher personally. The mosque was pretty interesting as well as the tree of life. Maher thanks again for making our short vist to Bahrain so memorable and fun! until next time...Aloha!
Maher the tour guide was amazingly courteous. Very knowledgeable and provided a full day tour exploring the wonderful and rich culture and history of Bahrain. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see and learn about Bahrain.
Mr. Maher gave us such a nice day tour. He collected all of my requests and made a great itinerary that we were able to visit as more as we can during the short stay of 10 hours in Bahrain. We were touched by most traditional and modern lives of Bahrain. even got chance to a Hindu temple and a synagogue. I do appreciate Mr. Maher’s guide; and hope one day can revisit Bahrain.
He explained Bahrain's culture, history and geography to us incredibly well. He had deep knowledge on history, science and technology and he passed it on to us. He was flexible, comfortable in terms of plan. I would definitely recommend him to anyone as a guide.
We travelled with our family with Maher Who has lots of knowledge and explain the history of Bahrain.I recommend everyone .
I had a fantastic day in Bahrain all thanks to my guide Maher. He made sure everything in the itinerary was covered and never in a rush, with valuable insights and experiences peppered along the way. The traditional lunch was yummy, the sights stunning. Bahrain may be small, but it is packed with heritage and history. I would never have been able to see and do all I did if it was not for him! Thank you Maher for a memorable tour of your beautiful country. 🙏
We (two adults, one kid of 3 years and one infant) booked a full day tour with Mr Maher. He is very knowledgeable, reliable, friendly and kind. Concerning client’s wishes Mr Maher is very helpful and supportive. He has a nice SUV car and drives very safe. We had a great day!
I didn’t know about Bahrain but I know now. The tour takes you around to all the spots and Maher the tour guide is extremely knowledgeable. He was passionate about his countries history and it shows.
Full day of sightseeing with Maher who was a very well informed guide. He made us feel very welcome and was genuinely keen to make our day interesting. Would highly recommend Maher for anyone keen to experjence a whistle stop tour of Bahrain.
This was a fantastic tour that packed a lot of information and locations into a short amount of time. Maher definitely knows his way around the city and its surrounding areas. If we get back to Manama, we will definitely contact him again!
It was worth the money. Mahir showed us great parts of Bahrain. Saw all the places as on the review and was in no rush to show us around.
Maher was a fantastic guide. He made contact before I left for my holiday and then again the day before. He messaged again on the morning to send a photo so I knew who to look out for… a really thoughtful thing to do. He was knowledgable about every location and fit loads in for the full day tour, especially as two museums are closed on Tuesdays. I didn’t get back to my hotel until 18:40 which just goes to show how action packed a day it was. Maher covered all our costs, made sure we were always fed and watered… nothing seemed like a hassle. I wish every tour guide was as good, thorough and friendly as Maher… definitely worthy of his 5 star review.
The tour guide Maher was awesome and very knowledgeable. He is professional and explains everything very well. He took me to see the main sights of Bahrain, from all the way North at the Bahrain Castle, to almost all the way down at the tree of life. I was in Bahrain for 3 days and he covered most of Bahrain during that day-trip on day 1, so on day 2 I didn't have much left to do :) Places visited: Bahrain skyline, Castle, First Oil pump, Tree of Life, Grand Mosque, Souk, Bab al Bahrain, Museum
The tour was fantastic. I was very fortunate to have Mr Maher as my guide. He was knowledgable enough to explain to me a lot of Arabic history knowledge and culture. He also brought me to some of the "secret spots" for photo-shooting in Bahrain that even locals might not know where they were. For those who want to come visit Bahrain and get a thorough idea of the country in a day, I highly recommend this tour with Mr Maher.
The guide was kind very informative. He saw and did a lot for the day. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Would recommend as covered a lot of sites in Bahrain. Good pricing.
My guide Maher, was the best. He was very knowledgeable, a good driver, courteous, friendly and respectful. I had a great day and learned a lot about Bahrain. I definitely recommend booking this tour you won’t regret it.
Maher is an exceptional guide. He is responsive, patient, accommodating and very knowledgeable. He showed our family so many wonderful sites in Bahrain, and gave just the perfect level of explanation. He is attentive to the needs of our whole family and customized the itinerary to our preferences. He knows the staff and folks at the various sites we visited, making our experience even more special. Highly recommended!!!
We had wonderful and a busy day full of information about Bahrain. We ended the tour with a delicious dish “Kunafa” ! Many thanks to Mr.Maher .
A day well spent and enjoyed thoroughly. Maher the tour operator was very nice and took me through the history of Bahrain while we were driving. Car, hospitality was extra ordinary and locations for lunch, coffee, juice were just spot for the day.
A day tour was very well organised and hospitality, care and urged to show everything that has been stated in the tour Boucher was conducted with professional approach and personal touch. Mr Maher was excellent in communication and was very passionate with lot of enthu that made me enjoy it. Thank you Maher for so good guide and taking care of every aspect of my food preferences, need to have breaks for wash room and hydration.
My girlfriend and I took the tour to explore Bahrain and were pleasantly surprised when we were the only ones who booked for that day. We ended up getting a private tour and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I grew up in Bahrain but left the country back in 2009. However, I still learned a lot from Maher during the tour. He was also very kind and hospitable even making slight changes to the tour due to the weather conditions while making sure we still made use of our time. We would highly recommend this tour with Maher if you are looking to explore Bahrain with a friendly and pleasant tour guide.
I really enjoyed this tour. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Everyone should take this tour if visiting Bahrain. The lunch was incredible. The tour guide Maher made it special. He was also punctual. He explains everything and answers all your questions.
Fantastic tour. Highly recommended if you have some spare time in Bahrain. Maher was a knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was delicious! The tour didn’t feel rushed but we covered a huge amount. Very glad I did it!
Maher was amazing. He is so knowledgeable about the area and our tour exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend him for anyone who’s looking for a diverse overview of Bahrain. We will definitely be back!!
Excellent local tourguide who did a great job in introducing the Bahrain culture, history and traditions to us. We visited many places and Had a fantastic time in this beautiful kingdom of Bahrain. Many thanks for the Engagement and great support. We will be back and meet again, Maher 😀👍
This tour covered everything I wanna visit in Bahrain in just one whole day! As a small country, it’s enough for you to explore. The guide was also very friendly and helpful. We had an amazing mix grill for lunch.
Wonderful way to see Bahrain and learn about this beautiful small country. The guide Maher is the key element for this unforgettable experience. He is knowledgeable about Bahrain and the region. He answered patiently all our demanding questions. The food was excellent and almost we coverd Bahrain in one single day. Thank you Maher.
This was a very informative and educational tour. I was able to see everything I wanted and more. Mr. Maher was an outstanding guide who knew so much history which added to the value of the tour. I highly recommend him.
I had only one day to visit and get to know Bahrain. I don’t think I could have had a better introduction. Truly. I saw so much and learned so much. My guide for the day, Maher, was so friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I learned so much about Bahrain and about the Arab world from him. If I had tried to go around Bahrain on my own, I would not have seen or learned half of what I did on this tour. I highly recommend it.
This tour is an incredible value for the price. My husband and I ended up being the only ones on the tour and Maher was informative, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. We saw everything on the itinerary and were even able to customize the tour slightly to our preferences. Lunch was delicious, we were able to shop for a few small items at the souq, and we learned so much about the history/archaeology/architecture/geology/culture of the region. It was a fantastic way to see much of Bahrain in only a single day. Do be prepared though, as it is a long day (9AM - 6PM) in the sun, and can be quite hot depending on time of year. We brought lots of water which ended up being unnecessary, as he had plenty of cold water in a cooler in the car. We are very happy we went.
This was an amazing tour! Manama and Bahrain in one day. I really enjoyed the tour. We were three persons in the morning and had a real nice and interesting trip through the city. A lot of water for free. Maher was very knowledgeable about each stop. We were at the mosque, the souk, the fort and so many more places. We had a very nice break where we had dinner with original food. In the afternoon I went on alone with Maher. He was a great tour guide and I highly recommend book this tour! We went to the tree of life in the desert, the camel farm, we saw oil production and pottery . Maher was born and grown up in Bahrain and he knows so much about the country and he has a great talent to give this knowledge to others. He is friendly, unobtrusive and empathetic, talks when you want to hear things and let you be when you just want to look. We had a real good converstaion and I learned a lot about the country. If I ever come back I would choose to have tours with Maher, for example to Saudia Arabia.i really cah highly recommend him as a guide. Thamks a lot for that day.
We were extremely glad to have taken our tour with Maher. We couldn't possibly have seen all the sights of Bahrain without him. Maher's knowledge about Bahrain is exhaustive, and there seemed to be no question that he couldn't answer. We feel that we got a real insight into Bahrain in one very full day!
Maher was a very pleasant and helpful guide, and arrived very promptly at our hotel to meet us for the tour. We had a very full tour, visiting all the main sights of Bahrain comfortably within 1 day. He was very knowledgeable and explained lots of additional information about the island. Thank you very much for great day.
Being, in Bahrain for the first time I opted for the full day tour to capture Bahrain’s culture, flavours and history. Our tour guide Maher was excellent! Maher was very well versed and knowledgeable in Bahrain’s history, culture and was able to answer the many questions we put forth to him. Maher, was methodical in his approach thus leaving us feeling at awe at Bahrain’s majesty! Lunch was a combination of exploration and culinary delights where a multitude of aromas, spices danced off our palates.
A fantastic way to see Bahrein and it’s many wonderful sights. The guide was amazing have wonderful insights and pampered our every need. We had a wonderful morning topped off by a nice traditional lunch. The afternoon was very entertaining. Thank you.
This was a great tour to learn about Bahrain's history and to see more than just a fort or a museum. We covered a lot of ground, and it was a full day! Maher was very knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. After this 8-hour tour, I feel like I had a good command of the highlights of Bahrain. Highly recommended (even if paying more as a solo traveler).
Had a great day exploring Bahrain with Maher and another guest. Learned a lot about Bahrain history and culture. I look forward to returning to Bahrain and another trip with Maher in the future.
Maher was very professional and treated us like VIP guests. We visited Bahrain because of an 18 hour layover and the decision to take a day tour with Maher did not disappoint. Maher was very knowledgeable with the history and explained everything to the best he could. He was very adaptive to the itinerary where we switched going to locations due to the fog, which made the view much better. We definitely recommend taking a tour with Maher if you are visiting Bahrain.
Excellent tour with the best guide ever . The tour is excellent arranged to cover all the highlights we wanted to visit and more. I loved the idea of having traditional lunch in a lovely traditional restaurant. Everything was perfectly organised. Thank you so much, Maher.
We are tourists from Hong Kong. Our tour guide is Maher Zayan. He is very helpful and attentive. His English is very easy to understand. We had a good time in Bahrain. Thanks very much, Maher.
Excellent way Meher has taken us around Bahrain.felt like a family tour rather then routine one. Will recommend tour with Meher for any one first time traveling Bahrain Thank you Meher
I ordered two private tours with Maher, a day tour to Saudi and another day tour in Bahrain. I am a journalist, writing articles on travelling. During my travel life, I have met many tour guides. I would say Maher is a very professional, knowledgeable and attentive guide. Firstly, prior to arrival, it was very convenient to contact and communicate with Maher via whatsapp. He was very responsive. During the tours, I visited many places within these 2 days. Apart from those standard tourist attractions that I would like to visit, he also introduced some side track places to me. Every attraction was interesting. He tried his best to fulfill my wishes. The tours were absolutely valued for money.
Knowledgeable, attentive, accommodating. Maher is a trustworthy and engaging tour guide. You will have a full day of the best tourist sites in Bahrain.
A great day, well worth it- We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Maher is an excellent guide , interesting to listen to and happy to go the extra mile to make our day memorable , looking for places I remembered as a child. I totally recommend this day out with him !
