⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable and truly authentic Spanish experience! Our group of 15 South African women had the most exceptional experience with Oletrips. From beginning to end, every detail was thoughtfully planned and professionally managed. Our visit to the olive oil mill was fascinating, and the cooking workshop gave us a wonderful opportunity to prepare traditional Spanish dishes in an authentic local setting. The delicious lunch, wine tasting and comfortable complimentary transport made the entire experience effortless and thoroughly enjoyable. Our guides, Cipriano and Miquel, were absolutely fantastic. Their knowledge, warmth, humour and genuine passion for the region made the day incredibly special. They made every member of our group feel welcome and ensured that the experience was both informative and great fun. Oletrips also arranged all our airport and inter-hotel transfers during our tour. Every transfer was handled with exceptional professionalism. The vehicles were comfortable, the drivers were reliable and punctual, and the entire service ran smoothly. Travelling with a group of 15 women requires careful coordination, and we always felt completely confident that we were in capable hands. A special word of appreciation must also go to Maria, who handled all the arrangements and administration so professionally. Her excellent communication, attention to detail and willingness to assist gave us complete confidence from the moment we booked. This was far more than an ordinary tour—it was a beautiful and authentic experience of Spanish culture, food, wine and hospitality. It became one of the highlights of our time in Andalusia, and our group will remember it very fondly. I can wholeheartedly recommend Oletrips for both memorable local experiences and highly professional transfer services. Thank you, Cipriano, Miquel and Maria, for taking such wonderful care of our group and helping to make our journey through Spain so extraordinary!

Itinerary
Do you like olive oil and want to know more about it? This is a nice trip to do it and at the same time discover beautiful landscapes that contrast a lot with the ones on the coast. Spain is the biggest oil producer worldwide and Andalusia is the region known to have the biggest number of olive trees, so if you like olive oil and want to know a bit more about it, you came to the right place. Our tour will start by visiting a centenarian olive plantation, where we will teach you about how to harvest the olives and the traditional tools used in this procedure, a unique experience!
Afterwards, we will visit the Periana olive oil cooperative, the most important in the entire Axarquía region. Here, we will discover how olive oil is produced from start to finish and learn to differentiate between its varieties after enjoying a tasting of its finest olive oils, which you can purchase later in the shop.
We will go deeper into Montes de Málaga (Malaga Mountains) and we will have lunch in the oldest inn in Andalusia and enjoy a typical plato de los montes (a typical dish of this area). This place is called el Museo del Bandolero (a bandit museum) and it is a special place with lots of history. After lunch we will visit the villages of Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo, located in what is called los Pirineos de la Axarquía (the Pyrinees of the Axarquia). Both are beautiful villages in the middle of the mountains and surrounded by olive trees. This landscape is completely opposite of those we are used to in the coast.

This is our second year doing a small group with Miguel from Ole Trips. There were six of us in the group and we had a fantastic time. We saw and did things that we wouldn’t normally seen. Our last stop was in a small village at the top of the highest mountain in Malaga province. We had a lovely, authentic lunch after tasting olive oil and learning the process of farm to table. Look forward to booking another one next year! Thanks so much for looking after us on our days adventure.
Miguel was an excellent guide. He gave us lots of interesting information and an excellent tour. Occasionally it was hard to hear him from the third row seat of the van. We should have asked him to speak more loudly or maybe a speaker system would've helped. Despite this we really enjoyed our day and learned a lot. We'd tour with Ole and Miguel again anytime.
Second time we travelled with Cipriano and Ole Tours. Very highly recommended. Small guide tours in German, Spanish and/or English. Cipriano is a very knowledgable guide tour and the company Ole tours the best tour guide company based in Nerja. We have already booked our third guided tour for June and so looking forward to book others for September. If you are visiting Nerja, join Cipriano in his fantastic tours around the Axarquia.
We really appreciated the olive tour. Despite the rainy weather it was a great success. The explanation about the processing of the olives into oil by our guide Miguel was very clear. Tasting the different types of olive oil was also very educational. After a beautiful ride through the mountains with the beautiful landscape we enjoyed a delicious meal at a typical Spanish restaurant. Our friendly and good-humored guide Miguel certainly contributed to this fantastically fun and educational day. Highly recommended!
Absolutely fantastic trip, would recommend to any one wanting to explore the area around Malaga a little more. Miguel the guid was informative friendly and made sure everyone had the experience described. Learning about the olive oil process and seeing it happen was truly memorable. And with lunch included the whole day was incredible value for money.
Perfecto! I couldn’t have asked for a better tour! Small, intimate, informative, spectacularly beautiful and fun! Cipriano is an outstanding guide who combines his formal education with his lifelong experience in this region to provide guests with insight only a person with his passion can give. This is a top-notch experience in which I highly recommend!
Interesting and well planned tour with a professional guide with great knowledge about olives and the area. We enjoyed every minute of it! Small group, nice views, tasting olive oil and some good food at a good restaurant with very nice surroundings. Also nice visit to family cottage. Can absolutely recommend!
The trip was very memorable and informative. Miguel and Cipriano, the drivers and guides, were very knowledgeable. The restaurant food was excellent and the views were well worth the trip.
Amazing day, great views and knowledgeable guide of the olive oil business from tree to bottle with tasting and an opportunity to buy souvenirs . Miguel is an excellent guide, pleasant speaks English fluently. Lunch in a very scenic restaurant at what looks like the top of the world. Recommend this tour.
Wonderful trip from start to finish. Miguel and Cipriano were very knowledgeable and fantastic guides. We had an amazing lunch in a restaurant up in the mountains. I would highly recommend this tour.
Absolutely one of my best tours. Only 8 persons and guided by Cipriano through the serene olive valleys above Velez Malaga. We learned about the struggles and hard work that is hidden in every bottle of the extra virgen olive oil. And everywhere we looked it was the most beautyful landscape. We will pray that the water will last this year and that the olives will be plentiful in order ti give a good harvest.
Pick up sharp at 8.30am and got home after 6pm. This trip was excellent value for money; with Cipri our guide being extremely polite and knowledgeable. He talked about the history of each of the villages as well as the making of olive oil itself. We were even lucky enough to be put to work for a while... all for a good cause of course.... lunch :) This is full day, experiencing some of the best olive oil and of course the stunning white villages Andalusia:)
Fantastic day with Cipriano and Maria! Delicious tasting, stunning views and a lot of interesting discussions about history, agriculture and the region. A perfect mix to not just become aquatinted with a region, but to fall in love with it. Massively grateful for Cipriano’s ability to manage the tour in English and German, to suit our needs and also be conscious of bringing gluten free picos so I could enjoy the tasting. Full recommendation! Also a pick up and drop off service which makes it totally easy!
Cipriano has all one needs to make a day to remember. He speaks English and has a wealth of personal knowledge of the area. He took us to the beautiful countryside in his Mercedes van and actually gave the small group hands on experience gathering olives. From there we got to see the olive oil production including sampling. We shared a wonderful Spanish lunch as part of the tour. What could be better!
The olive oil and mountains route tour was very interesting. Spectacular scenery and we got hands-on experience in an olive plantation. We really appreciated Cipriano's personal touch and his passion for this beautiful part of Andalucia and his knowledge of its history. Highly recommended!!
This trip was the second, but not the last, that I had the pleasure to go on together with our excellent guide and driver Cipriano. His amazing knowledge and stories has made me see and understand so much more about the area I am in. It was so sweet that we actually were invited to his parents finca, where we could try some olives and also oranges and lemons, fresh from the tree! For us, coming from the North, that is very exotic. It was a so interesting to learn how the olives were harvested, we could actually try it if we wanted. It was wonderful to then visit the olive mill and listen to Juan’s passion telling about his family and what they achieved with making organic oil and that they after only a short time won a prize for best produced oil. Way to go! After tasting some different and strong oils I bought 2 cans of the mildest oil, coming from an over 1200 year old olive tree. Thant alone is worth the trip! A tasty lunch by the open fire in the old inn - oh if only the walls could talk .... and then a safe trip back downhill, watching the magnificent scenary. From now on I will look at olives in a different way and absolutely have more respect for the oil! Thank you dear Cipri for yet another splendid day! See ya soon
Absolutely enjoyable day spent with Cipriano, driving (and walking) through the beautiful countryside, seeing the olive trees, harvesting them and then being able to see the process of turning the olives into oil (modern process and the process used generations ago). I'll always remember the rich taste of the oils and the passion that the locals have for their craft and heritage. If I ever find myself in Malaga again, I would definitely reach out to Cipriano again.
Just enough travel and number and guide. The Miguel guide is doing very well. Interestingly planned trip. Pick-up, drop-off and lunch worked great
With a small, international group we started the excursion in Nerja. The driver and also guide was Cipriano, who speaks fluent English and German. Along the way, he talks about the area, fun and educational. At a small village we stopped to visit an olive grove and eat olives. That Cipriano grew up there and that the olive groves belong to his father made it extra special. We then visited some villages and in one of them an olive oil factory where we got explanations and could buy olive oil. We also drank coffee and ate bread with olive oil and got to know the different oil. In other villages we wandered through the streets and Cipriano told us the history. The surroundings were beautiful and because of the rain in March everything was hugely green and fresh. At a beautifully located restaurant they stopped for an extensive lunch with a drink. The lunch was also excellent. Then we drove back to Nerja where we were dropped at the various locations. I thought it was a TOP day!
We had a wonderful day in the mountain villages with tour guide "Cipriano" in a small group. We were able to follow the olive oil process and it was very informative as we were told a lot of interesting facts about the production. The included lunch for the price is absolutely awesome. Thanks Cipriano for the unforgettable day.
A fantastically pleasant and comprehensive tour. We got to try harvesting olives, tasted very good olive oil, visited high up small towns, ate good food. The whole day was a treat together with our talented and nice guides.
The olive oil and the mountains - We went on this tour with Cipriano. He explained and showed us everything wonderfully, from the harvest to the product. There was a wonderful lunch and a great tour of the beautiful countryside.
Beautiful tour from olives to authentic mountain villages. From 8:30 a.m. to about 6 p.m. With a delicious hot lunch in a place with beautiful views. We were a few elderly but the tour was good to walk. Good guidance. Well worth the money. He speaks good English and German.
A great tour, thanks to Cipriano our guide. This tour was really an experience with lots of great people we got to know. Always happy to. Our dog was also there the whole time, he was also cared for lovingly. Sigi y Uli 👍👍👍👍👍
The ride alone was very educational. Stays at the olive estate and in the villages were also very interesting. Lunch was also very delicious. All around: everything great!
Great tour through an impressive landscape with many new impressions and experiences. The information about the olives and their harvest was very interesting and well communicated by Cipriano. The visit to the oil mill was also very interesting and provided a good insight into the history of olive oil production. Afterwards we went into the mountains to the oldest inn in Andalusia, where we ate wonderfully. Great!
The drive through the beautiful landscape very interesting the Processing of olives very well explained and fine olive oil tastes the food in the restaurant also very fine very great fun day with many beautiful impressions and experiences
We went on the oloijfolietour and it was a fantastic day. We were picked up in front of our house, the guide was infectiously enthusiastic. Very nice to experience the whole process of making olive oil up close. Combined with a nice trip through the valley, lunch with beautiful views. Super day. Can recommend it to anyone!
Because it was completely new territory for our small group , it was exciting from the very first minute . Great staged by the superguide Cipri! Very eventful tour , with surprises! Highly recommended!
Highly recommended the route. In addition to learning a lot about the process of making the oil, and being able to make a tasting of excellent oils, we enjoy landscapes and towns of Axarquia. Excellent Cipriano, our guide.
Our small group of two were very well looked after by Cipriano, who is a calm and talented driver and a brilliant guide. To be able to visit the family’s olive groves, his parents’ mountain house, to try harvesting olives themselves, and to also meet the mother and be treated to their own olive pickling and oranges straight from the trees was amazing! Then a visit to a small organic olive oil factory, where local growers came with trailers full of their freshly harvested olives, which were pressed and the oil bottled immediately. They also sold their award-winning olive oil that we got to test together with this year’s harvest, and of course we bought this wonderful oil with us. Then more adventure-walking and tasty lunch with incredible views in Alfarnatejo and then village walk in Alfarnate. Interesting and incredibly beautiful with the mountains and vegetation and a nice village. Much to see and experience, highly recommended!
It was a wonderful and interesting day with a great guide who has amazing knowledge. The opportunity to learn so much about the land and olives is rare! Thank you for the well organized and great day. We enjoyed it a lot! Always happy!
The trip with Cipriano was beautiful and very informative. On the olive plantation we were even allowed to harvest olives. In the oil mill at Juan Cabello Bravo we learned the steps of olive oil production and tasted the super good organic oil. The subsequent lunch at the oldest restaurant in Andalusia was just delicious. Thank you very much for this experience. We can highly recommend this trip with Oletrips all around.
It was a wonderful day to drive with Cipriano from Oletrips through the olive plantation and area. This trip is easy A must if you are on holiday in Andalusia.I can just oletrips. Super good.
We wanted to show our friends the area and Cipriano took us on an unforgettable tour. To first go to his "summer house" up in the mountains and be pedagogically instructed on how the olives are harvested and cared for, then go through breathtakingly beautiful landscapes to the family business that pressed olives and there got more information about the process and taste. Then lunch and continued traveling to more cute little villages, which we got information and walked through. We are sooo happy, thank you!!
We have wanted to know more about olive trees and olive oil for years. Luckily we found the offer of Oletrips. I have to say: it's a direct hit. Smooth booking process, good payment methods, good web site, sufficient information. On March 15th in Torre del Mar we started in the Mercedes Vito of Cipriano. We have taken the young entrepreneur/guide Cipriano (speaking Spanish, German, English) to heart. He was attentive, polite all day long, tirelessly explaining everything, matter-of-fact and funny. He's in the area at home, knows all the places, people, legends. It was a wonderful day. Although the season of olives is already over, Cipriano has taught us how and by what means the harvest is accomplished. Then we had developed respect for the hard work and followed the Processing in the mill with more interest and sensitivity. The mill is highly interesting, privately owned, reconstructed with love and expertise – tradition and present together, with very good explanations. The oil tasting another highlight. Olive oil tastes good and is healthy! We learn: the quality is given high priority. Lunch at the oldest inn in Andalusia is with Interesting legends spiced up by robbers of the old days. So strengthened we continue into the mountains, which cannot be described in words. With the walk in two tiny villages, the day was complete. A great experience, highly recommended!
I'm not a fan of olive oil. But this tour is so interesting that I am fascinated by the tradition of olive harvesting and the work behind it. Thanks for this experience, Oletrips!
