Morocco: Tangier Private Tour From Malaga & Tarifa, All Inclusive

What an amazing day that my wife and I will never forget!!! Nikolay, our driver to and from Tarifa (ferry) made this process so simple and problem free. He made sure our paperwork was all completed and answered all of our questions. His van was extremely clean and a super safe driver. The trip back to Malaga was awesome especially—- as we were all singing !!! Our private guide in Tangier (Ahmad …aka Tommy) was truly amazing too. He met us as we exited the ferry station with my name on a sign. We saw so many wonderful sites and ate great Moroccan food. Ahmed was so knowledgeable and friendly, our driver there was amazing too. Just memories to last a lifetime. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for this trip !!!!! Thank you again Nikolay and Ahmed. I have told all of my friends about this and will tell more. Plus, it was our first trip to North Africa!!!

This was a very pleasant way to discover Tangiers. We felt safe every moment. The driver and guide were very personalbe. Nikolai, the driver who picked us up in Malaga and returned us safely back was most enjoyable. He had us singing all the way back to Malaga.

Very satisfying experience our driver to ferry Nicolas was excellent and awesome driver he helped us to the very small details before we crossed borders promptly timed return is well we highly recommend his services to anyone. This might be my favorite day trip ever taken! Yes the day was long but it was worth it for everything we were able to see and do. Nioklay reached out the day before to confirm pick up time and details about the ride/day. We arrive at the ferry early enough for breakfast- eat something substantial as the time changes in Tangier and you could be eating later in the afternoon. When we arrived in Tangier and completed the passport process we met Tommy. He guided us through the city and to the beach where we rode a camel. We also visited the Medina, the Kasbah, a museum in the Palace, enjoyed a large flavorful lunch and shopping. We made it back to the ferry on time and back to Tariff for our journey to Benalmedina. Niklay has a real appreciation for music and is the ultimate DJ! I took this trip with my father who absolutely loved the experience as well. I was somewhat hesitant of what to wear and if it would be near any areas of unrest. No concerns at all! Book the trip and see the beauty of Morocco.

Truly enjoyed the one day tour from Malaga to Tangiers, Morocco. Our tour guide Tommy was excellent - providing information on the rich cultural diversity of the city/ country. The guided walk through the very narrow street-lined markets (souks) was a good experience; had a great first time view of the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoyed a very tasty and filling afternoon lunch at Restaurant Vandalucia where we sampled a variety of local dishes (appreciated having some gluten free options). The short 1 hour (14 kms) ferry ride across the Strait of Gibraltar was scenic and relaxing. The two hour ride to Puerto Tarifa and back from our apartment in Malaga was also a key highlite of this tour. Nikolai (owner operator of Sunny Trip Tours/Transfers) was so knowledgeable and entertaining making the drive a truly rewarding experience!

We were picked up at our hotel in Malaga at the lovely hour of 6:00 a.m. by Nikolai. He was fantastic and started our day off with jokes and laughter. On our way to the ferry, we stopped for coffee and had a small breakfast once we arrived at the ferry terminal. Nikolai took care of all the paperwork for immigration, made sure we knew what to do next and sent us onto the ferry. Because he prepared us beforehand with all the paperwork and instructions, getting our passport stamped on the ferry so we were all read to go when we docked in Tangier was a breeze! Walked out of the ferry building in Morocco and Hamsa was there waiting with our name on a paper and took over our tour from there. He and his driver took us all around Tangier in a van and pointed out many highlights, stopping often so we could get photos. We rode camels on the beach, shopped for souvenirs that we requested, had a typical Moroccan lunch, and were brought back to the ferry terminal for our ferry back to Spain where Nikolay was, once again, waiting to drive us back to Malaga. Started the return trip with a special song all about our Moroccan adventure. I won’t spoil it as I’m sure he does this often but it was very unexpected and, oh, soooo fun!! The return trip felt exceptionally long but I’m sure that was because it was a long, but fun, day.

Nikolay was our driver and he picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. On the way back we had a blast playing Name That Tune! He was a very entertaining person. Our guide during the day was, Tomi, and he shared interesting stories about Morocco. The restaurant where we ate lunch was filled with variety and absolutely delicious! We all had a great time.

Time well spent for my husband and I to take a day to do this. This is our first time in southern Spain and to have the opportunity to see another continent and country is something we took advantage of. As the day started to end, I realized we didn’t have enough time to see what we could have. Our tour guide was known just about everywhere we went. The camel rides were fun, along with seeing some highlights of the outskirts of the city and the old city. So much food at lunch! We were still full when we got back to our place at the end of the day and skipped dinner. Please take time to do this trip!

Reviewed a lot of travel forums before choosing this tour. Extremely happy we chose this tour. Small group tour with guide tailoring to your interests. Yes, you hit the main sites, but the guide actually adjusted what we did so we would spend more time based on our interests. They took the stress out of traveling by walking us around long ferry ticket lines and having a driver that waited for us at each stop instead of searching for parking or switching taxi's. You can do a tour with a big group, and see fewer things, or with an experienced small group guide that shows you the best sites to your interest.

Great tour, well worth it! Private tour is the way to go. Guide was excellent, breakfast and lunch were delicious! Allow time for return ferry to be late. We departed from Tarifa- a lovely place to visit!

Morocco was an amazing experience for our party of 5 ! From our pick up with Nikolai who was entertaining and arranged a fabulous breakfast and this was before we even boarded the ferry! In Tangier, our guide, Rashid was so knowledgeable about the history and brought us to beautiful sites leading up to the camel ride which didn’t disappoint! After the camel ride it was shopping in the markets and a fabulous Moroccan meal !! Once off the ferry back in Spain, Nikolai was waiting with treats ; a special song for us and movie music trivia all the way back to our hotel! I would highly recommend the private transportation with Nikolai and Rashid as your guide …it was worth every penny!!!

Our private "15-hour" day tour from Malaga to Tangier, Morocco, was an unforgettable experience and worth every minute. This was our third tour in as many days with Mohammed and his punctuality, kindness and professionalism made the journey completely stress-free. Once in Tangier, our guide Tommi was outstanding. His knowledge and passion for the city brought everything to life as we explored the fascinating Kasbah and bustling Medina. The vibrant colours, delicious local food, and unique atmosphere made for an incredible cultural experience. One of the highlights was riding camels along the beautiful Atlantic coastline which made for incredible photos and lasting memories. I would highly recommend this tour. Very professional and safe. The camel ride was exceptional the photos taken were excellent but the experience was far beyond my dreams. Our guide has been doing this 40 years and knows exactly how to make your experience memorable. The feast they had for us was delicious Morocco food! Shopping was fun and the colors are breathtaking! Tito was a wonderful driver and told us some history of the area as he drove us. Definitely worth the visit all was included in the price and a great value. Such an amazing experience! Everything went very smoothly and was better than we imagined. Nikolay contacted us and made sure we were prepared before our trip with all the information we needed plus followed up after. Communication from him was excellent! Our driver in Spain stayed with us until we got on the ferry and helped with any questions we had. Nikolay had explained everything about the ferry so we knew exactly what to do once we got on and enjoyed the ride. Once in Morocco, Tommy, our tour guide, was so friendly and knowledgeable! Amazing experience! Hats off to Nikolay for putting together a perfect tour start to finish. Super professional. Mustafa, our tour guide was waiting at the ferry and greeted us like old friends. He was funny, full of historic facts and took care to make sure we enjoyed every minute. He even taught us to haggle. Lunch at Restaurant Vandalucia was amazing!!!! You can’t go wrong with the Chicken Tagine with lemon. Every effort was made by every member of the team, including our drivers, to ensure our safety and comfort throughout the tour. All in all a great day!!!

Be prepared for a LONG day. Ours was 15 hours. This tour was a wonderful introduction to Tangier for our first time to the area. We give gratitude to our guides Nikolay, Tito, and Nizar as this was a complex activity to arrange, and they did a great job! I would absolutely recommend this tour as a full day trip from Malaga. I only deduct a star because we were delayed a day from our selected date, and also we did not like the high pressure sales from vendors in Tangier.

Stay close to Costa del Sol for easier pick-up. Staying in central Malaga means a 3 hr van ride before you get to the ferry. Book the tour first, then see their pick-up options and choose one of those hotels. Our van driver Nicolay was super friendly but was running a bit late for the pick up and had to speed through the highway so we can get to the ferry. We were the last group to board the ferry. As soon as you're on, ask for the forms to fill out for passport control and line up. You'll spend the whole 45 minutes of the ride in line to get your passport stamped which is required once you're on the ground in Tangiers.

Mustafa gave us the full Tangier experience. He showed us places we never would have discovered on our own - and honestly, if we had tried, we probably would have gotten lost. He shared so much knowledge, introduced us to people everywhere we went, and taught us so much about the culture. Our drive to and from Málaga with Nicolai was just as memorable. He kept us laughing, prepared us for everything ahead, and even shared original songs he wrote about Tangier. He made the ferry and the return trip completely stress free. Thank you, Nicolai!

I had a fabulous visit to Tangier and felt perfectly safe traveling solo to Morocco as a woman with this company. My driver Nicoli safely transported me to and from Malaga and made all the arrangements for my roundtrip ferry ride, as well as all the pertinent and detailed instructions for immigration, my arrival and return. I had a wonderful tour around the city with Tommy, who tailored it to what I wanted to do and see. Morocco is very welcoming of its visitors. Highly recommend this company. They take care of everything, all you have to do is enjoy.

I honestly can't believe how wonderful this day was. Every detail was planned perfectly. Our early morning ride was on time (to the minute) and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. The directions for the ferry and passport control were very clear. We arrived in Tangier, stepped out onto the sidewalk, and our guide was standing there waiting with a giant smile. He and our private driver drove us all over the city, pointing out points of interest and making sure we felt welcome and comfortable. Mustafa kept us informed, safe from traffic in the narrow streets, and on schedule. There wasn't a moment where we didn't feel comfortable. He took so many photos (both with and for us!) and never hesitated to pause when I asked him to stop and explain something or enjoy the view. My husband and I are very picky eaters and he listened to what we wanted and made sure we got something delicious for lunch. He made sure we knew about the midday call to prayer and hearing it from a rooftop was an incredible experience. He always found us a rooftop to enjoy the view of the city or have some Moroccan tea and you could tell he was well known and respected in the markets. I had a shopping list of gifts I wanted and he asked me my price point and took me to the appropriate vendors. A true gentleman, he even insisted on carrying my purchases through the market. When the day was completed we all said warm goodbyes and he made sure we knew how to get back on the ferry. Our driver was there when we departed. While we were careful to dress respectfully, at no time did we feel like we were being judged. Tangier is a diverse city with Muslims, Christians and Jewish people. We went to the mosque and the synagogue and he explained both to us.

We had such an awesome experience! Drivers and guides were so helpful and informative, and everything was taken care of. We were able to just go to Morocco from Malaga without having to think about any of the details. We learned so much, had an amazing camel ride on the beach and so much fun at the markets.

Nickolay our driver in Spain was absolutely FABULOUS! He was the key to a great start and he made the ride home the icing on the cake! If you go, things to note… you need euros for tips and the entry fee to Hercules cave. It’s cash only. They take euros, dollars and the local currency. You’ll need additional tip money for the camel handler, cave guide/picture taker in the cave, the lunch staff, and of course your driver and Tangier guide. We planned for the driver and Tangier guide but didn’t realize there was an extra cost for the cave entrance (9 euro per person) and the “other” guest services. Most of the shops only take cash- only the bigger shops take cards- like argon oil places. The tour itself was unbelievable and the personal attention was well worth the money. We’ve traveled in many countries and usually do less expensive versions of these kind of trips. THIS trip is worth the extra money. There would be absolutely no way we could have made our way from Malaga to Tangier on our own. The hop on/hop off bus (one of our usual staples) would never have been effective. The places we went on this tour we didn’t see any big buses. Private tour with shared transport was the key to getting the most out of this trip. Nizar was our guide in Tangier. He drove us all around to the best views of the city! His knowledge of the city was unparalleled!! He went out of his way to make sure we did only the things we wanted to do. Our time in Medina would not have been as enjoyable without his extensive knowledge and familiarity with the old city and its citizens. The fast ferry can be a little rocky- watch your step and get in line on the boat for the passport control right away! The line grew quickly and we had the unfortunate luck of a pushy tour guide from another company circumventing the passport line and cutting all of us off so she could prioritize her very large group. The passport control officer did not seem to mind. Since there were only 2 officers, the people in the back of the line did not get stamped until after we landed on the Tangier side! Another shout out to Nickolas- his personalized song was a highlight. I woke up the next morning still singing it. We played “name that tune” and sung karaoke on the ride home. He told us just when to look out the windows for pictures and stopped to give us an extra view of the mountain valley. He had snacks and drinks and seriously made the trip completely worthwhile! Thanks to both Nickolay and Nasir. Great experience- life time of memories!!

This was a great experience. As a group of four girls, our guide made us feel safe and we did not have to worry about anything throughout the tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and it was truly an amazing experience. It was also very easy as they picked us up from hotel and gave clear instructions for our ferry and transportation.

The whole experience from start to finish was PHENOMENAL. I went with my mom and my grandmother and it was an amazing experience for us all. Starting with Nikolaj, he drove us to and from the ferry and he made the 2 hour drive from Malaga feel like a fun road trip. He also tailored the entire drive completely to our liking and kept us entertained the whole way. The We met with Tommy in Morocco, and he was our guide for the day. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Morocco and took us to the best hidden gems. We also opted out of the camel ride so he brought us to this beautiful botanical garden instead. The entire day was so well organized, and I’d recommend this to anyone looking to visit Tangier. I also asked him for specific souvenirs and he brought me exactly there. AMAZING tour!

Nikolay promptly picked us up and helped us with passport and customs info. He additionally gave us excellent information and tips for boarding and disembarking the ferry to/from Tangier. Nikolay was invaluable! Chop Chop gave a very informative tour of Tangier by showing us different neighborhoods, the Kasba, and Medina. Mohamed was our driver. He was very courteous and kind, and a very safe driver! The camel ride was very good, with the guides being very courteous and safety conscious! The included Moroccan meal was excellent! They graciously accommodated a gluten free need, and our server was very courteous and conscientious! The only downside was the end of the tour dragged out walking through too many similar areas in Medina.

Dear [Company Name], I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the Morocco tour I booked with your company. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing and stressful experience for me and my family. From the beginning, there were issues with communication and professionalism. Your company initially contacted me to confirm the pickup location, which I provided. However, later the driver directly contacted me again asking for the pickup address. For security reasons, I preferred that all communication go through your company, but the driver insisted that I share my location with him. This made me uncomfortable, and as a result, I had to arrange to meet him with my family at the city hall instead. The situation worsened once the tour began. The tour guide’s behavior was unprofessional and rude throughout the day. He wasted a significant amount of time at unnecessary stops, yet rushed us when we wanted to visit places that were part of the tour. One specific issue was at the cave visit, where we were told to pay $10 per person, even though the posted price was $6. When I questioned this, the guide became upset and raised his voice, insisting that this had already been discussed, which it had not. Additionally: The guide pressured us to pay extra for activities that were described as included in the tour. He rushed us through important locations and discouraged us from visiting places like the art museum, claiming there was no time. When we insisted on visiting the art museum, his attitude became even more rude and uncooperative. We were not given proper time to explore the souk; instead, we were rushed through quickly without the opportunity to enjoy it. Most of the stops seemed to be places where the guide had personal connections, rather than locations that were meaningful for tourists. During the meal, we were rushed and treated poorly, and the guide was also disrespectful to others around him. The only positive part of the experience was the restaurant you recommended. The staff there were kind, professional, and welcoming. In fact, they were the only part of the experience that reflected positively on your company. Overall, this tour did not match the description provided, and the behavior of both the driver and the guide was unacceptable. This experience fell far below reasonable expectations for a professional tour service. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter seriously and provide an explanation. I also believe some form of compensation is appropriate given the poor quality of service we received. I look forward to your response.

What initially seemed like a lot of moving parts, the coordinator and guides at both ends (Malaga and Tangier) were exceptional. The entire day went so well and we had a truly wonderful time!

Amazing day from start to finish! Our driver Tito picked us up at our hotel in Mijas, brought us to the ferry and treated us to a delicious breakfast! Then we were greeted by Tommy, a native Tangerian, who took us all over Tangiers! We rode camels on the beach, strolled through the markets and had the most delicious Moroccan lunch!! Tommy never left our side. Mohammed, our driver, did a fabulous job driving us through the crowded streets. After returning to Tarifa. We were once again greeted by Tito who whisked us back safely to our hotel. A day we will never forget!!

From beginning to end, this trip was well planned and set-up for the best use of time and travel. We considered other companies, but we're so glad we went with Viator. Nikolay (tour organizer) and Hamza (guide in Tangier) were the best!

This tour could not have been better. It was everything, from beautiful photo ops, to riding a camel, to lots of interesting history, beautiful and low-pressure shopping opportunities, to the most amazing feast for lunch. But the real clincher was when I left my jacket in the van in Tangier. The next day in Malaga it was returned to me—an operation that involved the driver in Tangier, someone to bring it across on the ferry, and a special delivery in Spain at my hotel. An unbelievable effort for a lost jacket. I cannot recommend this group highly enough. I had the time of my life.

I was given clear instructions on meeting point . The ride to speed boat was smooth . Instructions were very clear on immigration on the boat and what they would be looking for once you arrived . Sit near the exit stairs it will get you off faster! Met my Morocco guide coming off the escalator . Tour started right away . It was just me private tour I was able to make stops take lotsa pics gets info about said spot. Was given an amazing beach ride on a camel and view of the ocean were amazing . The food was spectacular ! Restaurant overall amazing the owner was so nice ! My guide knew so many ppl I told him I was looking for cute slippers, tea for my mom, magnets, and tea pot. I was able to get it all! We walked through the Medina and haggled. He took me to the fish market which is very diff! And back on the boat with ample time . Made it hm safe . Overall great experience in Morocco . Never felt unsafe so glad I went for it ! I wish this would let me load pictures !

Our morning driver, Nicolay, made sure we left on time, provided us breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed at the ferry port. He explained what we needed to do and how our day would go. And that’s exactly what happened. In Tangier, we met our guide, Bobby, and driver, Muhammad. Both were great (and funny). We felt safe the entire time and enjoyed every bit of the tour. Camel ride was an experience and lunch was absolutely amazing. So much food! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Our driver to Tafira Nikolay was fantastic. Good driver and very much a personality. Plus was music was terrific. Getting through customs was a breeze. Once we got to Tangier we met Tommy our guide for the day. He was friendly, very knowledgeable about Tangier and very patient when we wanted to stop and shop.
