Nothing more than a city bus with very few decent seats and maybe 10 minutes of narration. Not a tour.
We weren't able to take this excursion because the place to pick up the voucher was in another part of the city that we couldn't get to in time. It would have been better to be able to get the voucher at one of the stops the bus made on its route.
We went to go to bus by port to start our tour but they close the door and we are sold out until 1:39 in afternoon thus was 10 in the morning we couldn’t wait that long and I send message to driver in morning but no response we need to get a refund horrible service
Worst hoponhopoff ever. Waited over an hour for the ride to start. And overall very long time for the next bus to arrive. Which lead to a minimum of places to see. Nope, never again..
One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had with a company. We waited at one stop for 2 hours and no bus came. We took an uber to the next stop. We finished at this stop 2 hours later, and still had to wait another hour for the bus. They called it service interruption. Which means service completely stops. We paid extra for the ultimate service and missed everything because of the service interruption. The drivers were rude, and the person assisting the drivers were not even helpful. If I could, I would give this company a -10. I don’t suggest anyone to use this company. I sent an email to the customer service department. I still have not heard back from them. On the departure bus, I was sitting on the top deck and the canopy cover by the stairs was broken and had small rusty nails sticking out all along the side or it. I didn’t see it until the bus moved and the canopy cover moved and jabbed my finger. I immediately sanitized my finger as I had no idea if the rusty nail would create an infection. This was very unsafe bus and should not be in service. Or at least the top deck should be fixed before allowing people to sit there. The canopy wasn’t even tied back and we were the first tour of the day. I would not waste one single penny on this company in any other city again. The next day we were in a different city, saw the same company and we literally ran away. We used another company. Worst customer service, worst experience with a tour company
our tour guide knew all the secrets and saved a whole bunch of effort for the same end result! Bravo I did a tour while visiting on a cruise ship and we were able to complete the tour and visit the castle and get back to the ship in 2 1/2 hours where others attempted to view the castle and had to abandon plans because the lines were so long! highly recommend.
Easy on and off at good sites. Inexpensive cost, Viator was less than others. I've used it before and will use Viator again.
Best to go around once to know where to g and where the stops are located. Cathedral was beautiful. Long lines at fortress on Saturday
It took us three buses to find a seat where the audio worked. One bus I can handle, but three? Nope.
Wonderful way to see more of Malaga Bus went to interesting places . Easy on and off . Bus personnel very helpful.
It is a good introduction to Malaga. Recommend if you are either staying a few days and want to get your bearings or are on a cruise with limited time and want to see the city.
It was very close to the cruise ship and easy to navigate. We were able to complete all three lines with the green going to the botanical gardens.
Great tour company and well organized. There were plenty of buses on the route allowing minimal wait times between stops. Many representatives were available on the streets for information and assistance.
Enlightening, entertaining, informative and not strenuous.Paco is a marvel. We especially enjoyed the market experience.
Inexpensive fun and you see all the sites! It’s the best deal in town we loved it! I recommend on snd off buses in every country where you can find them!
Rain, rain, rain. For which operators seemed totally unprepared by using inappropriate buses. A thoroughly miserable, soaking experience.
It is just ok. They have someone right at the bus who scanned your code, which was super great. However, the buses were so full, that you hesitated to get off at any sites, because you might have to wait for a really long time to be able to get back on. Also, some of the recorded messages about the sites came on too late and you were past the site. Not horrible, but I would not repeat it again.
We took the hop on off bus tour that included a flamenco dance show and boat ride in the harbor which were great. The bus ride was too hot to sit on top and poor directions were given to find flamenco show. No good map was given to help once you got off and the town is large and congested. Watch out for pick pockets.
The bus made exceptionally long stops along the way. The hop on staff located at each stop boarded and had lengthy conversations with the driver. It was a very hot day and at each 10 minute stop, the doors were left wide open and any cooler air was gone. Our experience was much worse than any other Hop on tour that we did in other cities.
The wait times for buses were irregular and inconsistent i.e. no buses and then 2-3 in a row. The transfer points between the 3 routes were unclear and should have been mentioned in the commentary at each transfer point. The blue line was not available the day we used the hop on/hop off but we were not informed of that (after waiting an hour at the transfer point) and finally got back on the red route to find out the blue line had been "combined" with the red line---not the case when we started the tour that morning (did not do the blue line) but the decision must have been made to combine after we had completed the red route. Poor communication The red line did provide a good overview of the city.
We often try to take advantage of the hop on hop off buses during holidays, was a bit disappointed with the service in Malaga as the commentary available was very poor although the bus service as a means to get around the city does its job. We booked the essential package so also offered a free boat trip round the bay as well as entry to the flamenco show amongst other extras so wasn't a complete waste. Also the Malaga Hard Rock Cafe is situated in the harbour area so gave us a chance to buy yet another shot glass for sons collection
There are three routes - Red, Green and Blue. The only one that has audio guide is the Red line. The other two are worthless and just like taking a city bus ride with no audio guide. Also, the wait to switch lines is very long. Recommend looking for another alternative.
I was so disappointed there was clearly many interesting building,s and land marks( whether historic or just an interesting building it would have been nice to have some information) but all we got to hear was bad music. The operator had clearly done the bare minimum so basically a overpriced bus ride.
We had a two hour wait to get on the bus. Instructions said the tour operates from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; however, they were loading the bus as early as 8:00 am. The one place we wanted to see, the Picasso Museum, was impossible due to the amount of time it took to get on the bus. There was no where to sit down or get out of the sun while waiting to load. One person fainted from the heat. There was no one directing/policing passengers which caused issues within the crowd due to people who continuously tried to cut in front of others. This was an extremely unorganized operation and it did not matter whether you purchase through Viator or the cruise line.
Good way to see what is available in Malaga. You can redeem the authorization at any stop. The stop was close to the cruise port terminal.
This tour company comes out on top of the 4 different HOHO bus companies we used on our recent trip to the British Isles, Spain and Portugal. They are well organized and run a well-tuned bus tour company.
I thought the bus tour was nice but the day was hot and the bus was hot, even out of the sunlight. Also, we were not given earphones to hear the information. I had to find one on the floor of the bus to use.
Earphone ports on the bus some where broken. Buttons to change language also broken so got no commentary just long waits at stops in blazing heat for no reason. Complete waste of money avoid at all costs. We used lime scooters in the end.
We both went with the bus and at the boattour and I especially want to recommend the boattour, since th staff was super friendly and the safety was taken seriously ( we went with another boatoperator as well, who didnt give a safety briefing at all). So all in all a good experience that Il recommend :)
Nice one hour boatride, but somehow spoild by loud rockmusic. I just wanted to enjoy the sights and the nice weather. It seems to be the same on the other tour boats. 10/12 Eur is a fare price.
Able to see important sights and get information and history of the city. Prefered when you had guides narrating the tour.
What is good I easygoing from cruise ship and quick view of city. However. Stops not easy to find. You can actually walk everywhere
Enjoyed the convenience of the bus and getting off and on as I desired. A little more commentary would be useful.
I'm glad this was not our first experience with the Hop on hop off sightseeing company. We have been very pleased with this company all over the world. When we arrived at the cruise terminal in Malaga there were a couple of hop on hop off representatives in the lobby. We were given a recipt for 2 tickets (no actual tickets) & a map. We followed the representative's incomplete directions to the bus pickup outside the terminal. She failed to mention that the bus stop was ACROSS THE STREET hidden by some bushes & palm trees. Finally after asking multiple cruise terminal employees, we headed across the street with appropriately 15 other passengers. The bus driver took our receipt (as well as the other passengers) & we made our Loop without incident. We found a spot to hop off & asked the new bus driver how we were going to prove we had paid to get back on. He said, no ticket no ride. We explained that the previous driver had taken our receipt. No luck in our negotiations process. We hopped off & took a taxi for the return. My recommendation is to purchase your tickets online so you have a QR code ticket.
The addition of a cruise port stop on days that the cruise ships are in is extremely convenient. It was a good value-added surprise.
It was a really great service, nice customer service, they managed to let us enter the flamenco show after our card was expired( due to bus delay the day before ) The bus drivers are very friendly, especially IVAN who was really helpful and sympathetic. Great experience
Had to walk to the starting point to redeem the voucher, they wouldn't do it on any other stop. Frequency of buses was very poor. Having been on many hop-on hop-off tours in various cities, I wouldn't recommend this one.
This bus took a lot of time but there wasn't much to see. At one point it stopped at an intersection for about 10 minutes for unclear reasons - was not traffic issue, or loading/unloading. It was about 90 minutes to do a single 'round'. In general the town is not easy to walk or get around. Unlike other ports, the 'sites' are a fair walking distance from the cruiseport. If time is a constraint, it would be better to arrange for a taxi or other transport from the dock to the desired location.
Fabiola was wonderful in helping us for city guides and bus tour around whole of malaga. a must visit place
Total rip off - don't waste your money. Bought 2 tickets costing 60 euro which was for travelling on the bus for 24 hours and included admission to several museums. Waited about 30 minutes for 1st bus then got off to switch to blue route. Told quite rudely by one of the reps that it was the same route!!! Nobody had told us this before and was not what it said in the information booklet. We then had to wait another 45 minutes for what I assume was the same bus to come round again! We finally arrived at motor museum and afterwards waited for the bus which never arrived. Apparently the last bus from this point was 1.15pm. So we had choice of walking or getting taxi back to centre. Half a bus ride and one museum for 60 euros - total rip of. No response to my email complaint from company either. Disgusted.
My husband and I were disappointed on the Malaga, Spain Hop On Hop Off Bus in March 2020. Planning ahead, I emailed where to meet this bus after our cruise ship arrives at the Malaga Port. Received email to meet at nearby light house and I printed local map. NO. Found the bus to the side of port terminal after being confused and asking. Secondly, the bus route brochures were all in Spanish. I asked for one in English; the bus employee response shrugged her shoulders. ) : Related these needed improvements previously. Obviously, management can improve customer service.
We bought a 24 hour hop on hop off ticket on the saturday we were there. The bus stop was opposite our hotel which was handy but when we set off we spent half an hour going in the opposite direction and ended up outside our hotel again and there was nothing really to see in that half hour. The highlight was going up to the castle as it would have been a tremendous slog to walk up but apart from that everywhere else is quite walkable...unless you really to go to the castle it's better to walk
I didn't want to seem like a tourist, but I am so glad I got on board. There was no way I could have driven or walked to the places that the tour bus took me to, I would recommend to do this at least on your first two days, just so you can get an Idea of where to go..
We like to start off in a new city with a hop on hop off tour to get a good overview of the city and the highlights. According to our booking confirmation that we received, a walking tour was included and to go at a specific landmark at 12:30 to start the tour. We waited 15 minutes and no walking tour. When we did get on a bus they informed us that the walking tour started at a totally different location close to the port. I asked an official with the company that since it was their error could they give us a rain check for in a few days as we had other engagements already booked. The answer was a disappointing NO. The boat ride was ok but stayed only in the bay. The bus part was good.
Having gone to Malaga before, we expected to see some of the sites we visited before. However, this time we saw another part of Malaga that was just as exciting as the first time. It is a beautiful city full of history and architectural designs. It is a big and busy city but easier to move about.
Cruising in to Malaga?? Shops and main part of town are close to the cruise terminal. Hop on Hop off stops at cruise terminal and is a great intro to the city. If you have the full day spend several hours seeing the sights and then from the last stop you are close to main town shops and restaurants, and a very easy walk back to your ship. Great value for money.
an excellent method of transporting yourself around to establish where and when you can visit various attributes to enhance your holiday. Very simple pay for the day 20 euros and hop and off as you like. English speaking guide an ear plugs provided. certainly reccomend
The information given in the tour was poor, we learnt more from the man driving the horse drawn carriage than the commentary on the bus, the part of the town by the train and bus station was uninteresting, the only thing we didn't get from the carriage tour was the ride up to Castillo de Gibralfaro, but you can walk that in 20 minutes and it was worth the walk, disappointed considering all the red bus tours we have done around the world.
We were not very pleased with this tour and advise tourists to beware when booking this excursion. The lady who sold it to us charged us 29 euros. She did not mention that there were two options - one without the boat tour which we never requested in the first place for 20 euros and one with the boat tour for 29 euros...making a difference of 18 euros for two people! . Needless to say, we never went on the boat tour. It was a cool day on the water and we just did not have the time. If the salesgirl had given us the option we would not have taken it and we feel we were "ripped off" so please be careful because we would not have been aware of this different pricing until we heard another salesperson offering the tour for 20 euros.
