The rich flavors and the tavern's timeless atmosphere create a truly memorable experience.

Nearby, you’ll be served a glass of wine or a small beer, along with a selection of savory tapas. You can choose between carrillada (tender pork cheeks) or atún (tuna), or opt for the rich flavors of chivo malagueño (goat stew), crispy chicharrones, or the succulent atún encebollado (tuna in onion sauce). To share, you’ll also taste half a portion of albóndigas (meatballs) that perfectly complement the tapas.
Plaza de la Merced is one of the most important and most ancient squares in town, existing since Roman times. It truly embodies Andalusian soul and hear you can see some surroundings monument such as the Monument to Torrijos or the house where Pablo Picasso was born. Nearby, at the next destination, dive into the essence of Andalusian cuisine with a selction of tapas, such as berenjenas al miel (fried aubergines with a delicious honey sauce) or anchovies! Meeting place was the hotel Ataranzana but receptionist said "No not in this hotel. " We found Gabriella on the street but told we were not in her group. We learned our group was split in two and we were waiting for.JOse. We followed him to our first winetasting spot, which was a dirty crowded confusing place. Difficult to find a place to stand let alone drink The two samples of sweet vermouth. Pass. The next two stops were in a restaurant we were able to sit, sample the wines and enjoy the mini tapas that were present presented You should delete that first stop - Antigua de Cada - from your itinerary otherwise We enjoyed the tour , wine and tapas.
Passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming: Jose made our 3 hour food tour in Málaga a highlight of the trip! 🌟 There were four of us, and he paid close attention to everyone's food allergies and drink preferences from start to finish, so we could relax and enjoy every bite. Every tapas stop and market stall in Málaga was full of delicious food, and Jose shared the stories and techniques behind how many of the dishes are made. His enthusiasm is contagious 😃 and the conversation flowed easily, from social changes to travel tips. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time and loved Jose's deep knowledge and authentic personality. Highly recommend him as your guide in Málaga! 🙌
We had such an amazing time on this food tour with Charo! She is such an authentic person and it really felt like she was showing us her special spots in Malaga. The food was incredible and so unique, we had never had anything like it before. This was well worth our money, since Charo shared parts of Malaga history along our tour. Make sure to show up hungry! We were happily full at the end of the tour! Thank you Charo!
Ease of getting into multiple different experiences was worth the price alone! The guide was very personal but spoke too fast for me to understand all the time ◡̈ but he was great! Also the food was enough for dinner, so come hungry. My husband said this was his favorite activity of the entire trip - thank you!
We had a great tour with Jose, he was very accommodating when we had difficulty finding the meet point. Jose was passionate, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic 🤩 we were a small group of 5, and he managed to speak with us all and was very good when we asked questions. Jose was good at keeping to time despite our late arrival and even made impromptu stops when someone asked a question. We loved the markets and the stops for tapas. Jose is very proud of his heritage and culture and it was extremely enjoyable to spend time with him on this tour. Jose also gave plenty of recommendations for future food venues and was open to responding to text messages if we had any questions. Top class guide🏴
It was a most lovely evening with Gabriela.
Tapas Tour Review: The Perfect Introduction to Málaga! We couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin our trip to Málaga! We chose this food and wine tour as our first activity, and it turned out to be the perfect introduction to the city. Rosario was a wonderful guide. She led us through the streets of the old town, introducing us to several tapas restaurants we might never have discovered on our own. At each stop, she recommended delicious food and wine, and explained a little about the buildings’ history and stories. She was warm, personable and clearly passionate about sharing this city with visitors. We felt welcomed and well taken of. She followed up afterward with additional restaurant recommendations to help us make the most of the rest of our stay. We would highly recommend this experience, especially as a first activity to get to know the old town. If you have the opportunity to tour with Rosario, don’t hesitate — she is fantastic! Thank you, Rosario, you made the first day in Malaga an unforgettable one!

We had a great time with Jose ! Excellent information and experience! George and Christine
Our guide was Rosario who was lovely - enthusiastic and knowledgeable and made sure our preferences were taken into account ((a few of us were not seafood lovers). It was a small group (8) so just the right amount.
Fantastic tour. Easy meeting point. Value for money , great experience. Superb choice of tapas and wines. I would highly recommend. This was made an unforgettable experience by our guide Rosarilla. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great fun. Hidden gems of bars, great atmosphere in each place. Just the best night.
Food stops were decent. Difficulty for several people in the tour to hear what the guide was saying - walked very fast and spoke with his back to the group. Did not adjust even when group members brought this to his attention. Most notable our guide kept disappearing from the group at each stop.
Amazing way to discover Malaga. Make this your first thing to do when you arrive and request Rosario as your guide. We had a private tour for 4 of us and had the most enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Rosario was so knowledgeable, took us to unique local spots and shared history, culture and her love for local food and wine. She also shared a list of tips to explore more of Malaga. And come hungry as you will eat well.
A group of us booked the food tour & Rosario was our guide. She was a fabulous guide. We visited four different venues & had traditional Spanish wine & food, which was excellent. The group was a great mix. It is excellent value for money & I would highly recommend the tour especially if Rosario is your guide
I can't recommend this tour enough! We had an absolutely fantastic experience with our tour guide Rosarillo. She had such a wide knowledge of the food, the history of Malaga and is such a lovely person too.!Time flew by as we were enjoying ourselves so much! And it is great value too. 10/10.
What a great tour by Gabriela our guide. Stopped at 5 stops and couldn’t eat anymore after 2, but somehow we did. She gave us a great walking tour of Malaga and each stop was better than the next. She was exceptional.
We loved our food tour! Gabriela was super friendly and welcoming, and very knowledgeable and personable. This was our first night in Malaga, and we decided to sign up for a food tour to see what local food and specialties were available. We walked around Malaga, and she described historical facts and showed us famous landmarks. The food was excellent, as was the ambiance of the sherry bar and little tapas restaurant. We would highly recommend her, and she kindly followed up with restaurant recommendations that we had asked her about. Thank you !
Amazing experience! Our guide, Jose, was delightful and very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. He answered all of our questions and took us to fantastic restaurants!!
Its so interesting to hear about the history of Malaga, the market experience was great. Our host was amazingly knowledgeable about the area & the food. Totally recommend
You get to know a lot about the city whilst enjoying good food and wine. Wear sensible shoes. Our group had food allergies and this was dealt with really well. Our tour guide was great and there was plenty of food.
Jose was great guide and food good and meeting new friends worked very well… we thoroughly enjoyed our tour…. But - too much food ! - we could probably have remained closer to old town and plaza de Merced ….. so replace the first bar with another closer to the ultimate location Overall very good tour !
Great tour guide. A very enjoyable experience
Rosario made this tour the best way to see and learn about the main sights of Malaga whilst sampling the best food, wine and fun that this gorgeous laid back city has to offer. Rosaria is an exceptionally warm and funny lady, who swept us up into what Malaga has to offer. Quality of the tour, wine and tapas was exceptional. Rosario made our last night in Malaga memorable.
18 September 2026 We went on this tour with Rosario as our guide, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We were joined by five other participants, each of whom helped make the tour even more enjoyable and memorable. Rosario is an exceptionally talented guide and storyteller. She shared her knowledge in such a lively, engaging and personal way, creating an atmosphere that made the tour truly special. It wasn’t just a tour – it was an experience that we will never forget. A huge thank you to Rosario and to the other participants for making it such a wonderful day! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Malaga food and wine tour was one of the best that we have ever experienced! Each food destination offered a unique experience specific to Malaga. In addition, we enjoyed the wonderful company of a couple that we now call friends, David and Jakki. This could not have been done without the remarkable engagement, enthusiasm, and communication skills of our tour guide, Jose! His deep knowledge of the food, culture, wines, and desserts were unrivaled. He connected with each one of us in a very human and personal way. His humor, kindness, and ability to engage us one a variety of topics made this tour extraordinary. Thank you, Jose! Alina and Joseph
Rosario took us to some very interesting bars and restaurants. The tapas, wine, beer, and desserts were all excellent! We learned some history of Malaga from her too. We finished the tour with full stomachs!
Our tapas tour in Malaga was wonderful. Rosario was a brilliant host- she was able to tell us so much about the history of Malaga as we walked whilst taking us to the best tapas bars in the town. The tour includes a huge amount of delicious tapas and drinks and is amazing value for money. Highly recommended
The tour was very enjoyable with great food. Rosario was highly informative and we could tell that she loves what she does.
Charo gave us the best tour i ever had(and i did lots of tour while travelling). Very high energy very knowledgable of the area, food and extra top it up with lots of interesting history. We definitely have met such a wonderful person who enjoyed and loved what she does. Our tour was superb!!. Highly recommended!!!!
What an amazing food/wine tour! Rosarillo was a breath of fresh air. She was full of energy and information and a love for the city of Malaga. We were all so full by the end of the tour. Highly recommend!
Rosario was fantastic and a great guide . She helped us truly understand the culture and food of Malaga! Highly recommend her as a guide and a friend to have in Malaga
The Guide (Jose) was fabulous. We had a great selection of venues with exceptional tapas and wine. With his local knowledge and relationships with local venues the experience was made extra special. We even got to visit the one restaurant (el pimpi) we couldn't secure a table in as it doesn't take reservations. We were an 8 strong Hen Party(well behaved) with another couple and meeting new people (who were a great addition to our group) was a real bonus. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Malaga.
Our guide was great. We spent a little too much time in the market at different stalls, it was stuffy and hot there even though it was nice to see. The cheeks and fried anchovies at El Pimpi were the best!
Gabriella was lovely, a great guide. The first two tapas bars were great- traditional Spanish which is just what we wanted to experience. However, the tour didn’t meet the expectations and previous reviews. 1) The tour visited only three venues not 4 as described. 2) The tapas provided were ok, nothing fantastic or memorable. 3) Apart from one traditional wine every other drink was choose your own. 4) the tour ended after 2.5 hours not the 3.5 hours as described. It was underwhelming and a disappointment. Gabriella was lovely though
This tour was an amazing experience! Our tour guide was Rosarillo! She was so much fun and very knowledgeable and passionate about Magala wine, tapas and the history of Malaga. She provided us with extra information to make our stay awesome! Thank you again Rosarillo for making our trip very memorable! Highly recommend this tour!
This has to be the best food tour I have been on yet! So many different things to try, so many glasses of wine haha! Some of the most passionate teaching and such interesting parts of history with the city was included as well as an easy to find meet up point. We had a small group which was very nice, it created a very jolly and intimate atmosphere. If we ever come back definitely booking again!!!
We enjoyed a truly fantastic day with our guide Rosario. She was a lovely, bubbly, intelligent and very knowledgeable guide who from the start shared her passion for Malaga, its history and obvious love for its food and drink. Rosario shared this all with us throughout and showed us some wonderful food and wine. Hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did.
Great experience, lovely guide and lots of food and drinks!
Rosario was lively, friendly and very willing to share her knowledge in local food and wine, recipes, culture, experiences. A real foodie and totally made the tour very enjoyable.
Rosaliro was an absolutely wonderful guide! She put so much care and effort into making us feel welcome, looked after everyone beautifully, and gave us fascinating insights into the hidden treasures of Málaga. I would join one of her tours again without hesitation. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and genuine passion for what she does are truly contagious—you almost wish you could be friends with her! I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you again for such a fantastic experience!
Charo was a great guide. The food was wonderful, the company amazing and the history, educational. Thank you for making our vacation one to remember. ❤️🇪🇸
Best food tour we ever had. The guide, Charo, was awesome. She took us to the best Tapas Bara in Malaga
What a wo perfume excursion, Rosario was just the best guide, she was fun, knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and just great company. She took us around Malaga teaching us about the history of this often overlooked town. She ordered traditional local dishes and wine for us to try. The conversation flowed easily and so did the tapas and wine highly recommend.
Great “foodies on foot” tour with stops at many delicious food stalls snd tapas bars along the way. Jose our guide was informative and fun!
Rosario was a great guide. Really, really great tour - we learned so much about the food, culture and history of Malaga and tried new things. A must do in Malaga!
Jose was a knowledgeable and friendly guide and did a superb job! Had a fantastic time walking through the city of Malaga. Great sites, food and great wine tastings at every venue. Very casual walking tour. This tour was a midday tour, which was perfect for our party, because you’re able to see all the shops and sites and monuments while they’re open versus an evening tour when the shops are closed. Would recommend comfortable walking clothes for this tour, and be prepared to walk about 4 km.
Rosario was the perfect guide! We had such a lovely time eating and drinking our way through Malaga. Rosario is kind, very knowledgeable and funny. Great energy. Great conversation. Highly recommend!
We had been to Malaga before, but this wine and tapas tour was still absolutely worth doing. We learned so much about the local food, wine, and culture, and got to try lots of things we had never tasted before. Jose was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Malaga. He made the experience both informative and enjoyable. There was plenty of food throughout the tour, and we were definitely full by the end! The venues and dishes felt very authentic, giving us a genuine taste of local life rather than a typical tourist experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Malaga, whether it’s your first time or a return trip.
Thank you Jose for a great evening. Your choice of food and tapas was excellent and really enjoyed all the information you shared with us regarding Malaga. Would highly recommend.
