Kayak And Snorkeling Excursion In Maro Cerro Gordo Cliffs

The tour was very nice with beautiful scenery and was perfectly paced, not too fast and not too slow. The guide was very friendly and knew a lot of fun facts about the area. You receive a lot of help, so it’s perfect for anyone who has never done kayaking before!

This is an amazing experience, really good value for money and the guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. We are a family with two teenage boys, 13 & 17 and it was a perfect holiday experience for them. None of us have kayaked or been snorkeling before and this was perfect for us as beginners. The guides gave us all the information we needed and we had such a fun day. We were out for 2 hours on the water.

Unfortunately we couldn’t attend it. However the support was very nice and gave us a refund.

Fantastic scenery, the guides were very thorough with all the safety information and looked after us brilliantly. We are 72 and 84 years old and they made sure we didn’t get left behind and that we could get in and out the Kayak okay. The water was so clear for snorkelling and it was a wonderful experience for two and a half hours, highly recommend this company.

What a great experience! We kayaked in pairs along the cliffs and into a cave. What an extraordinary view. I thought I was in shape, but apparently, not. When I was too tired to paddle, the leader hooked my kayak on to his and I kept paddling to the best of my ability. Then we stopped off at a spot to snorkel - favorite activity. There were lots of fish of one type. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend.

We did the kayaking/snorkeling excursion in Playa Maro. It exceeded our expectations we love being active & it was about 2.5 hours total. Our guides were amazing & took us to the best spots. We had a great experience kayaking and snorkeling. The trip was about 2 1/2 hours in total. The snorkeling with about 30 minutes of the experience. The views were gorgeous the entire time. Our guide, Fran, was knowledgeable, funny, and kind enough to translate everything into English for us. He also took professional-looking photos for us the whole trip because we couldn't take our phones.

Absolutely wonderful experience - 10/10 recommendation. Good reception with clear instructions. Plus: a secure location to keep safe your belongings during the tour, since you shouldn’t bring much on the kayak for risk of loss / getting wet. The tour itself was great - passing by the calas, cliffs and caves of the reserve. Lots of beautiful vistas and marvelous sea life. We were even so lucky to kayak next to dolphins passing by after visiting the largest cave - however that is a rare occurrence. The last third of the trip had us snorkeling from the beach side and the underwater life was just incredible. Just a heads-up: bring potable water, waterproof sun cream and a shirt to wear underneath your safety vest. Also, might be good to wear water shoes / swim shoes - helps with kayaking as well as rocky beaches. All in all: a 10/10 experience.

There were 5 of us. All adults over 60. Jake was our guide and he did an excellent job of watching over all of us in his group! The fact he also was fluent in English made the day that much more enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to use these guys for your water adventures! Thank you Jake!

This was a fun activity but it took a lot of effort and it was a bit disorganized. If you book make sure you are pretty fit because the kayak group moves at a very fast clip and you will get left behind. The groups are loose and instruction happens once at the start and not again. Friendly staff who speak many languages make it a little easier. Be sure to buy water to bring in advance because they don't provide any.

Really great trip great value for money. Javi the instructor was super helpful and friendly. Snorkeling was great saw loads of fish. Yhr 5km kayaking is hard work but enjoyable Not for the faint hearted though!

The scenery is stunning and the guide Jack was very good. Unfortunately the activity did not start on time, the life jackets are very old, deteriorated and smelled very unpleasant. Only one snorkel and mask per 2 persons? No landings, had to get back onto kayak from deep water, challenging for some. Did this activity 2 years ago, each person was provided mask snorkel and flippers. Disappointed to have brought friends to this activity, time to invest in new equipment!

Beautiful trip, excellent guides Jack and Natalie. We arrived , got the briefing and off we went. We did the evening trip and enjoyed it immensely. Would definitely recommend! Large crowd split into groups by language, took very good care of us.

I'll start with the positives. The tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and the snorkelling itself was excellent. Unfortunately, the organisation of the tour was very poor. The group appeared to be oversubscribed. There were not enough snorkels for every participant, with some two-person kayaks carrying multiple snorkels while others went without. More concerning was the chaotic approach to kayak allocation. Rather than assigning kayaks fairly, it effectively became a free-for-all where people rushed to grab one. My wife is small in stature and was left with a single kayak, despite my explaining several times that I was concerned she would struggle to complete a 5km round-trip route alone. Those concerns were largely dismissed. The problem with this became obvious once we were out on the water. Around 2.5km from the beach, in open sea, my wife was exhausted, anxious, and struggling to keep up. At that point, neither of us could enjoy the tour because we were both worried about whether she would be able to complete it safely. To their credit, the guides did eventually help and offered to tow her kayak. However, this situation was entirely foreseeable and could easily have been avoided if they had listened to our concerns before setting off. What frustrated me most was not that a problem arose, but that we raised the issue repeatedly beforehand and were simply shrugged off. A little thoughtfulness and organisation at the start would have prevented the situation altogether. While many people in the group appeared to have a good experience, our own experience was significantly affected by poor planning and a lack of consideration when concerns were raised. For that reason, I would not choose to book with this company again.

Great fun. Pleased they take safety seriously & delayed trip by a day due to high winds/choppy water. Was still a little rough so we had to go in opposite direction for calmer water as we unfortunately missed the caves, but would happily re-book next time we’re there 👍🏼

It was amazing experience. Couldn't imagine it to be better. The guide was very helpful and optimistic. We have been as a family of 5 with the youngest aged 10 and we all had a great time. Snorkelling time was great as well, we had seen many fish and even an octopus 🐙. Loved it. Thank you so much.

What a wonderful time we had!! The guides where amazing, attentive and had great knowledge of the sights ans sounds. We were terrible but they were patient and so helpful! It was an unforgettable day.

Went as a family of 5 including 3 teenagers. Very kind and informative guides. Definitely bring your water in the kayak. It’s a LONG journey (3 miles) to the very small cave. And depending on sea conditions it can be very challenging. We had good conditions and it was still very challenging for us and we’re in average “shape”. Not much to see while snorkeling and they didn’t have enough equipment for everyone which was a bit odd. Honestly this felt more like a “workout” than a scenic kayak. I had to remind myself to pause and look around me… and then I’d fall behind the group for pausing. My arms were very sore for the remainder of my vacation. In summary, if you’re in great shape and looking for a good scenic workout, you’ll love it!

We had a great adventure eventhough the sea was a bit lively. The group was a bit too big for us, which meant too much waiting at times.

It was a little windy the day we went, so a good bit of paddling was required. It was well worth it! The water is clear and the cave (although not very deep) was really amazing.

We had an absolutely fantastic kayak and snorkelling excursion with AWA in La Herradura. The whole experience was brilliantly organised from start to finish, with friendly and knowledgeable guides who made everyone feel safe and welcome. The kayaking route along the stunning coastline was breathtaking, with crystal-clear water, beautiful cliffs, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery. The snorkelling stop was a real highlight, giving us the chance to explore the underwater world and see lots of marine life in the clear Mediterranean waters. The equipment was in excellent condition, and the guides shared interesting information about the local area, making the trip both fun and informative. Their enthusiasm and professionalism really stood out and helped create a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting La Herradura, whether you’re a beginner or have experience with kayaking and snorkelling. A wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of the Costa Tropical!
