Half-day Luxury Catamaran Sailing Cruise In Granada

From beginning to end, this trip was absolutely amazing. We were greeted by skipper Joshua and crew Paulina. They were both really friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. As Joshua gave us a safety briefing, Paulina popped the champagne open. We soon departed for a glorious afternoon in the bay. The catamaran is superb, it was really nice to be able to spend time at anchor relaxing in the sun or snorkling. We felt really safe with such an experienced crew. The water was so amazingly clear and we saw lots of fish. We had a wide choice of drinks both for adults and children and lunch was an absolute delight with fresh and tasty products in ample amounts. In terms of value for money the food and drinks alone were more than you would expect in a top notch restaurant. All in all, I highly recommand Sailandplay!

From boarding the boat to exiting, we had such an amazing experience. The crew was fantastic, conversational, and very fun. We had 9 people (outside of the 2 crew) and it still felt very roomier. You can lounge in the back, front, on the nets, and in the cabin if desired. They welcomed with a nice glass of Cava, followed by alcoholic drinks (wine and beer) along with non-alcoholic. They had a variety of adventurous items to choose from: snorkeling, noodles, paddle board, etc. Lunch was a nice and light refreshing array after swimming for a few hours. Truly a wonderful day!

Absolutely amazing trip, Mike and Amber were awesome, very knowledgeable and attentive.  We saw several dolphins, brilliant views and enjoyed great food plus the drinks were flowing.  Such a great group of people and we had an excellent time.  Could not have asked for more I would highly recommend this trip, it has been one of the highlights of our holiday.  Thank you so much and Amber what a wonderful play list we loved the tunes!

This is our second time doing a Sunset Cruise in La Herradura. It’s the highlight of our holiday. There were 10 of us in our party so it worked out at €110 pp which is excellent value. We sailed at 6pm, few glasses of Cava as we set off, then we anchored up for swimming, paddleboarding & snorkelling before having a lovely buffet dinner, with more wine/cava (beers & soft drinks also available). There is a speaker you can Bluetooth your own music through which was great. We then sailed to a spot to get a good view of the sunset, we have some gorgeous photos and we returned at 10pm. The crew were very professional (Ben & Maisy) and safety was paramount. We would definitely book this again, absolutely loved it. Thank you Ben & Maisy.

Really relaxing trip across the bay at La Herradura with a good couple of hours either side of the sailing time for the kids to enjoy the paddle boards, swimming and diving off the boat. Good food, more than enough drinks available for everyone, a really enjoyable afternoon.

Really enjoyable and relaxing morning out on the boat. Lovely breakfast provided when we moored-up. Well-equipped for swimming, SUP etc. And even a birthday cake with candles provided for the two birthday boys.

This cruise was so much fun!! The crew, Maisy and Ben were the best. They were fun, made us amazing food and were very helpful. Everything was great!!

This was such a great day for a 60th birthday celebration. The catamaran was more than big enough to accommodate for our party. It had snorkels and paddle boards to use when the boat was anchored in the bay. The crew Dan and Molly were great- professional and friendly! The food Molly prepared was very yummy and overall it was a fab experience with sail n play- would definitely book again!

Easy to arrive and get started in the morning, crew was fantastic and friendly. Had a peaceful cruise while watching dolphins alongside the ship. Enjoyed swimming and paddleboarding. Definitely recommended!

Too many people on the boat! 12 passengers when 8 felt like capacity. Also sea so rough that the cruise was cut short and most of the time spent in the harbour having lunch. No refund offered. The cruise should never have started in such weather. Very disappointing

What a great afternoon we had on the catamaran cruise - definitely the highlight of our whole holiday! We were a party of four and there were eight other guests on the cruise - everyone got on really well. Matt and Evie, the crew, were friendly, professional and very helpful. We anchored a couple of times to have lunch, to swim and to use the paddle boards - it was idyllic. We were even lucky enough to see dolphins from a distance. The buffet was excellent and the drinks (particularly the Cava!) flowed freely. It’s a trip I would wholeheartedly recommend and we would all love to do it again.

My friend and I had An incredible time, we honestly wish we did the full day instead of a half day. The captain's were so sweet And the food they made was delicious! Unforgettable experience, I highly recommend

Absolutely 5 star for our family celebration for our daughter's 21st birthday. The food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. We were so lucky to see many dolphins, and they swam under us. We had a swim and used the paddle boards to. Wonderful experience. Definitely recommend this trip, we were a party of 6 and the boat itself is very spacious.

We had a fantastic trip. The crew were great and there was plenty of food annd drinks onboard. The highlight was seeing dolphins in the wild and being able to get close to them. It was magical. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.

A bunch of friends, nonstop cava, sea toys and sun what more can anyone want. We have a house in the region and so come here regularly and we can’t believe we haven’t done this before! We had a lovely afternoon and we’ll definitely do this again!

It is a tradition ! This is the third year in a row we are going on the catamaran trip I. July with Sailplay. Excellent trip - sailboat, staff, safety, drinks, everything was perfect. We were 18 people so we also rented the small motorboat where the teenagers could hang and be. Lots of fun on the motorboat for example they did the pulling of the ring after the boat. When we had brunch both boats were anchored next to each other so that we all could be together. After lunch we swam and used the SUP paddle boards, other fun things such as snorkeling gear were available. Teenagers continued riding the ring after the boat. Special thanks to the cool and professional staff Danca the young female Ukrainian captain and also Alexandra the wonderful French cook and sailmate. The young guy that drowe the small motorboat was also great and very helpful and friendly. Things that stood out: 1) Sail with full sails with the fantastic boa 2) captains confidence skills and ability to sail drive the boat 3) the lovely generous food prepared by Alexandra. It is a tradition we will be back July 2026 for sure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HUGE !THANK YOU❤️🙏🏻

Wow! A fantastic family experience ( children age 2 , 9 and 11) Greeted onto the boat and spoilt straight away with drinks and snacks, Alexandra catered to our every need and made us a delicious meal. Lots of fun swimming, paddle boarding, snorkeling. Favourite day of the holiday and would definitely do it again. Muchos gracias

we were expecting to cruise along the coast further but we only just went past La Herradura and then turned back and anchored in the bay. Food and drink were excellent!

Nice relaxing cruise, great team looking after us, five out of five. No complaints at all, we had a nice time and was ideal towards the end of our holiday.

This was our fourth private charter with Sailnplay and once again, it was a fabulous trip. Our skipper Matt and Evie were great fun and Evie prepared an amazing spread of food which we all really enjoyed. The sea was a bit choppy due to weather so Matt moored the boat in a sheltered area so we could enjoy some swimming. I would highly recommend Sailnplay for a thoroughly enjoyable few hours on the water.

A group of us went on a hen party and had a great time! Really well organised, the boat was lovely and the crew were really nice! Would highly recommend!

Great days sailing trip with Mike,Ellie and Matt along the coast from La Herradura to Maro with lunch moored up off playa Cala el Canuelo. The boat, crew, food and drink was all good. Weather was perfect and before lunch we swam and paddle boarded. Also saw Manta rays and Sun fish. Great end to our 8 weeks in Nerja

This was our 4th time sailing on the Optimist and next week will be our 5th! Mike and Eve did a great job. The food was just right, enough for far more than our group, and something for everyone! The sea was far to cold to swim but the views more than made up for it. Seeing the snow-covered Sierra Nevada and the spectacular Maro waterfall in full spate was amazing. This activity is well worth the price.

Excelent as usual it’s 3 time I go with them! Really nice and we had very good weather! I do recommend them for a nice family trip or party!

Clearly this is a pretty good experience based on the reviews, this is why we booked it. BUT, if you get on the wrong side of Mike good luck! Please read Mikes responses to previous 1 star reviews then read his response to my review…. I’m really looking forward to it. I wish I had of read the 1 star reviews before choosing this company. Reading Mikes responses to his customers who leave anything less than a glowing review is a true reflection of his attitude and treatment of anyone who challenges him on any services not delivered or below standards. There are way too many other cruise company’s to choose from that don’t have this pattern of behaviour with less than happy customers. We booked and paid for a 4 hour private lunchtime Catamaran cruise departing at 1.30pm. We received an email at lunchtime the day prior to our cruise confirming cruise but requesting to change our booking time to from 1.30pm 1pm which was absolutely fine. We confirmed via reply email and went sightseeing for the rest of the day/night as you do on your holiday. I sent a few emails late that night requesting music choices for the booked lunchtime cruise and received prompt replies confirming he would pass onto crew which was much appreciated. I woke the next morning to an email sent at 4pm the day prior advising the starter motor had failed and offering a 9am tour on an upgraded boat. I emailed back at 10.15am advising that I didn’t see the email until this morning and the earliest we could make it to La Herradura was 12pm. That’s when the fun started. I won’t bore you with the back & forth email details…. In the end Mike advised we would not receive a refund because we did not show up for our 9am cruise….?? I have and will continue to email him reminding him that I booked and paid for a 4 hour cruise for 1pm. At no stage did I confirm or accept a 9am “upgrade” cruise, this was never what we booked and payed for nor did we except the 9am offer regardless of his explanation which I’m sure will be coming in his response to this review.

Avoid, especially Mike. We booked and paid for a private lunchtime cruise that did not happen due to the boat breaking down the day before. We were offered an alternative upgraded cruise for 9am instead of 1pm start which would have been lovely but we had no way of making it so did not accept it. We requested a refund but were advised by Mike quite rudely that because we didn’t show up for the 9am cruise we would not be getting a refund. When we reminded him that we booked and paid for a 1pm private cruise and thru no fault of our own it was cancelled and at no time did we accept the 9am cruise offered, he got very nasty and continued to refuse our refund requests. Read his response’s to any low star reviews and you will get a sense of his vindictive and nasty behaviour. Avoid him at all cost.

Amazing.... , all credits to captain and crew. Chill,relax,enjoy... totally worthed. As father and 5y old daughter,it couldn't be better. We did the 18u trip,and the sunset...fabulous. paddle,snorkel,kayaking. ..and supernice food and drinks. Thumbs up. 👍

Such a lot of fun with teenagers. It was my son's 16th Birthday and he loved it. Very posh Catamaran and we loved all the time spent at the bay playing with the paddleboards and kayak. Highly recommend.

We had a stunning sunset cruise on a perfect August evening. Tom and Eve were fantastic hosts. The good was delicious. A special thanks to Tom for peeling our prawns! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding (all equipment included in the price). Highly recommend Sailnplay (and Tom and Eve) for a memorable outing.

Lovely part of the world, and very well looked after by Danka and Ella. Unlimited drinks as advertised, a nice lunch, and a good hour or two stop with snorkelling, kayaking and paddleboarding. Everything was of the standard we expected - thanks very much!

Wonderful experience on a catamaran, with the opportunity to snorkel and enjoy beautiful see life. Nice boat. Simple brunch but this isn’t the reason to made the cruise. Friendly crew.

The crew was amazing! Very attentive and personable. SailnPlay welcomed us after a lengthy hike in the hot sun with compassion and water (followed by delicious cava), and even gave us a ride to our hotel rather than us hiking back over a mountain afterward when we hadn't booked their shuttle (highly recommend doing so in the future!). The views, food, drinks, and experience were amazing! Highly recommend!

We private chartered a catamaran for 9 people. Tom and Ella were our crew. They were very helpful and friendly. The day itself was lovely. We sailed out and moved around the boat while enjoying drinks. After a while, the anchor was dropped and we all swam in the sea, kayaked, and stand up paddle boarded while the dinner buffet was being cooked. After dinner we sailed towards home port, stopping and cutting the engines along the way to enjoy the sunset. Highly recommend.

I went on a lovely lunch trip and I loved everything about it! The boat trip itself was safe and smooth because we were in good hands with Danka and Ella. The boat was clean and comfortable. I went with a friend, and were a part of a group that consisted of another couple, and two families - we started the trip by being given delicious cold cava, snacks and clear instructions for the day. It was great having clarity on how the day would go and what to expect. We were able to sit on the different parts of the boats to enjoy the trip and the view before anchoring at a calm bay, where we were given access to paddle boards and kayaks, to go swimming or to stay sunbathing on the boat. Drinks were unlimited throughout the day and lunch was served with a variety of options, it was a delicious spread! It was a perfect plan to relax, to getaway and to do something different. I would love the do the breakfast trip someday and the sunset trip as well at some point, so I will definitely be coming back! It is also a great idea for a group event! Thank you Sail n’ Play for a lovely day!

Perfect breakfast trip on Optimist of London II. Captain Mike and his crew Lucy were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Ample drinks and the food was delicious and catered for all dietary requirements. To top it off we had the most perfect dolphin show! Around 40 dolphins working together in their pod to get their breakfast! Some very playful dolphins decided to join in the ride too! There were lots of water sports on board, but I chose to soak up the sun! Perfect morning thank you Lucy and Mike

We had a lovely day with captain Tom and shipmate Ella. We started with drinks, nibbles, introduction and safety talk before setting off from the harbor. The weather was very windy and we managed to sail for a short while but it was very rough so had to seek shelter of a quiet bay where we had a nice lunch. There was a range of food for everyone and water, soft drinks, wine or beer available. This was our seventh time on the Optimist of London, we always enjoy trips with them

Had an amazing four hours with Eve and Dani’s! Thank you for my birthday cake! The perfect way to spend an afternoon. Really looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Will do again next year!

The weather was lovely. A small breeze so we were able to sail which was awesome. The crew - Dana and Ian - were very communicative and friendly. The food prepared for lunch was good. When sails were down we had lunch and time for a swim, a go on the surf board and some kayaking. A great experience.

We celebrated my husband's birthday with friends aboard the Catamaran for the sunset cruise. 4 hours of sailing along the spectacular coast out of Marina del Este along to a calm anchoring off Cerre Gordo National Park where we enjoyed lots of swimming, canoeing, trying out a paddle board for the first time and splashing about like children, despite our advanced years! A lovely freshly prepared party buffet with lots of fizz was served to us by the very competent and patient first mate Eva, whilst our skipper Danka kept everything in check, helping us get near dolphins for a closer look and positioning the boat on the best route to mazimise the spectacular sunset. Most enjoyable. Would definitely do again and highly recommend.

As usual the experience of the trip is amazing and now that it is 4 hours feels even more amazing. This time we even saw dolphins and captain went closer to them for us to see. Crew is amazing as usual and the trip is just magical. Thank you and see you next time
