Visitanddo did an amazing tour. The tour gave us enough time to do everything we wanted do and see. Luis did a great job! Well organized. Rock of Gibraltar was on our bucket list. Very pleased with the overall experience.

I have always had amazing experiences booking through Viator but this one was a let down. In an 11ish hour trip we spent 6 hours picking up and dropping passengers off from Malaga to Marbella and driving to Gibralter (1.5 hours each way if driving consecutively). This left us only 5 hours of actual experience time and we had to choose between buying tickets for a 1.5 hour dolphin cruise and a 1.5 hour rock tour. I was under the impression that I could do the dolphin tour and still have 3.5 hours to catch the shuttle and go up the rock on my own. Other listings for this tour showed both tour options as being possible in one trip. There were a lot of people on the bus who had bought their tickets with tour tickets included and some who booked the options without tours (I did because the other options were sold out), yet we all clearly ended up on the same bus. When they offered to sell us tour tickets on the bus, I jumped at the chance because I assumed that I would have time for both. Sadly, I didn't without risking missing the bus, which was not made clear before I paid for the dolphin tour. So I spent 11 hours on this tour and over 100 euro total for a 1.5 hour dolphin cruise. Fun but not worth it. If they could add even an hour to this tour, everyone could do both experiences and have a more fulfilling day! If they took vans of small groups from each town rather than doing endless bus pickups, it would cut the drive time in half and give more time for the experiences. The vans could also take the tours up the Rock themselves and save everyone the 40-55 euro extra it costs to go up the rock. I just did a similar tour in Lisbon that did vans of 8 passengers and they were able to take us all the way up the mountain to Pena Palace. It was one of the best tours I have ever done. Please know that if you buy this experience, over half of your day will go to transport time and you probably won't get to see half as much as you want to. All that being said, our tour guide was kind and the restrictions came down to the logistics of this tour company and not how she runs things.
Covi our tour guide was brilliant, would definitely recommend booking either the rock tour or the dolphin tour. Great experience.
The location I was given via email stated pick up at the Train Station, when it was actually at another location. I had to get a cab and arrived just as the bus was leaving. The bus would not stop for me even though they saw me so I had to go to the second stop and ended up spending 33 EU in taxi fees to catch the bus. The bus took 3 hrs to pick up and arrive which gave us 5 hrs in the city. Hardly enough time to eat lunch and go on one excursion. Then another 3 hr drive back.
It's worth to purchase your Rock tour admition ticket together with tour ticket. In the Gibraltar remember - mobile data cost a lot. We had it from travelanddo, where our guide Covi was superb! Many thanks to you. Also our driver for Rock tour Habi from Parody tours was excellent.
We enjoyed the flexibility of the ‘own pace’ option. Although the tour of the rock and dolphin options seemed great, our interests were historical. We used the five hours to visit Trafalgar cemetery, climb through town and up the mountain to tour the WW 2 tunnels, and we visited the city under siege exhibit. It gave us enough time to hike back down to Main St, and have a relaxing pub lunch, before we met everyone back at the bus.
It was very nice to visit Gibraltar.we learnt allot, the tour guide Alex was very funny, extremely helpful and very knowlegeable.
Such a lovely fab day out from start to finish. We would highly recommend this trip Gibraltar is a lovely place
Was a nice day out! Good value for money, did not understand guide so good but we were satisfied
Pick up and drop off as planned. Good instructions and info from guide. Would strongly recommend your guides push your added trips more as the ones provided from the Gibraltar side left a lot to be desired. Also a bit more info about accessibility as people were struggling a bit.
Professional tour, very punctual and well organized. The timing was very precise, and everything was well coordinated. Things to improve: We only had about 5 hours, or slightly less, to enjoy Gibraltar. Considering the long journey from Málaga, it felt like a lot of travel time for only about 3 hours to explore Gibraltar, especially since any excursion takes at least 2 hours. We arrived around noon after visiting the Rock, and by 3:00 p.m. we had to leave for Málaga. The departure was very chaotic, and there was not enough time to properly enjoy Gibraltar at a relaxed pace. The driver and guide were both very good and professional.
A nice trip, but nothing in Gibraltar exeed any expectaions. So a bit underwhelmed. Maybe better to stay there a few days. We only climbed the Rock and saw the monkeys and caves.
The Gibraltar bus tour was a fantastic experience to get out for a day. Luis, the guide, was exceptionally nice and experienced. Pick up point in Benalmadena was convenient and clearly described, the bus was on time, and communication through WhatsApp helped alot. We highly recommend to take tours with Visitanddo.
We were picked up on time with some pick ups en route. No border between Spain & Gibraltar anymore so no queues. Free time to explore and have lunch. Tours up the rock & dolphins are much cheaper when you arrive Gibraltar (rock tour €30 instead of €55 with tour company). On the way back the driver didn’t wait for people to get off just closed the doors we had to shout to be let off.
Very friendly crew, good atmosphere, good vibes. We had a perfect day! We could not see the dolphins but we stop to swim into the sea and the water was perfect
It is a bus ride, mostly, in a decent vehicle. They did an 'experiment' with us, stopping at a small town on the way. We got off, and followed the guide to a quaint old town square a short walk away. But we only had about 15 minutes there, no stores were yet open, and the guide left us on our own to get back to the bus. Awkward! But they delivered us to Gibraltar in a timely manner and got us efficiently through customs of Spain and Gibraltar, both in and out.
We considered going to Gibraltar on our own and finally decided to join a tour from Malaga instead - boy are we happy we chose the tour! There are a choice of pickup/dropoff sites and the bus takes you directly to the border crossing. Our guide, Carlos, explained the whole process prior to arrival. He also provided a map and helpful hints for getting around Gibraltar. You have plenty of time to walk main street and do the dolphin tour, or the Rock tour, but not both. We joined the tour that included St. Michael's Cave and the Rock tour. We also saw monkeys up on the rock. Having never been to Gibraltar before it would have been difficult to get around so easily. If you have never been before, Gibraltar is bigger than you think, it's not as walkable as you think and you'll be glad you had the help of the tour guide at the end. I highly recommend this tour.
So pleased I went on a day trip to Gibraltar from Benelmedina I only booked a coach trip there with no rock excursion . Would recommend you book Rock tour too because the cable car is out of service We did do the rock tour with a local taxi service who was fantastic and cost £56 The guide Pepe we travelled to Gibraltar with was lovely and very informative
Excellent trip to Gibraltar.worth the journey. Coach driver was excellent . The trip to the rock is fully informative and the locals so friendly. Brilliant seeing the monkeys enjoying life at their pace. The shopping experience was amazing . A brilliant day out!
My husband and I took this tour from Malaga in order to obtain transportation to and from Gibraltar. The bus ride took approximately two hours each way and was an efficient way to get there. Our guide Laura was helpful and informative. Due to the size of the group, we were towards the end of the line when were boarded and were separated. We did not complain about this, but Laura shifted passengers around, and we were seated together. It was rather awkward. We have been to Europe several times and have taken many day tours. Sometimes, it is difficult to anticipate the level of activity that will be involved. Prior to beginning our vacation, I had sustained a back injury, which was in the healing stages. We are very active seniors, and I had underestimated that this would be too much for me. This was no one's fault. Upon arriving in Gibraltar, we had a lengthy walk from the bus, to passport control, and to the main square. Coming from the US, our passports took longer to process than the rest of the group. It seemed that we were always rushing to catch up with everyone. We knew that the cable cars to the top of the rock were being repaired, but we thought that we would be able to take a private taxi and see the sights that we wanted to on our own. This is not the case at present. To do this, you have to get into a group van that holds 8 persons and follow the planned itinerary. For the grand price of approximately $165. USD, we paid for this experience. The first stop was the Pillars of Hercules, and this overlook was very nice. The second stop was entering the Caves of St. Michael. These are interesting, but I quickly realized that they are very dark and slippery. The gentleman who admitted us allowed us a chance to look around and exit. When we did so, our taxi was no where in sight. We did not realize that he had advanced to the exit. We had to walk up a hill to meet up with him, and it was very embarrassing. He admonished us, saying that he had made this clear. I guess that we missed this. The third stop was the Skywalk, which involved walking up and down several steps to an overlook, and then walking up a hill to (again) meet the taxi. I declined and stayed in the cab. The driver ignored me, and I felt that he was more than rude. I was mortified. We sat together for a very long 30 minutes while he was on the phone. Eventually, our group came back together and went to the final stop, the tunnels of WW 11. He just drove my husband and me back to downtown Gibraltar and walked away from us. This was a very humiliating experience for me, and certainly was not a good "customer experience". For a 2 hour tour, this is not what we had anticipated and his impatience was more than rude. Granted, it was no one's fault that me back was "acting up", but a little understanding would have gone a long way. We returned to casemates square, enjoyed a light snack and a glass of wine, met up with our group and reversed our walk back to the tour bus. For the remainer of our stay in Malaga, we wisely decided that any day excursions were not in our plans. We spent time on the beach and took short bus trips to coastal towns on our own. When we got off our tour bus at Old Town Malaga, Laura did ask me if I was ok, and offered to call a cab for me. I said that "I was fine", and that we were going to enjoy a meal at a tapas restaurant. She offered some suggestions. Since I have to "own my pain", my only complaint is the fact that Get Your Guide knows the taxi drivers in Gibraltar and sets up these excursions to the top of the Rock. They should know who they are dealing with and be more "customer oriented". All in all, it was an embarrassing day.
We like the option to explore on our own. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained all options very well.
I’ve been to Gibraltar many times with the military, last time was around 18 years ago. My companion had never been. Wow how this place has changed!!!! First off the passport control on the Spanish side is still a nightmare, at least the tunnel under the runway has been built so that a positive. Gibraltar town is nothing like it used to be, now it’s designer shops, restaurants that all seem to be serving English fish and chips, which as a Brit wasn’t really what we were looking for. A lot of the bars that used to be there are mostly gone, replaced with barbers and designer shops. I found the town had lost a lot of the charm it used to have. The high rise blocks of flats are out of control I thought, obviously land is a premium but it just felt too many in a small space. Took the tour up the rock which was priced at £60 per person, quite frankly over priced for what you got. We only took this as short on time otherwise I’d have walked up. A lot of the history boards on the walk up can only be read if you walk up, so if you want to learn more of the history walk….. All in all as I had been before it went tourist mad I wasn’t overly impressed. My companion liked the place but would come again on his own to do the internal tours of the rock.
I would recommend going, just not on this tour, too many stops picking up other tourists, made for a really long day, 12 hours that could have been 8, from Malaga
Great trip, highly recommended. Benjamin is the best guide - friendly, very helpful and has a lot of knowledge.
Great trip, possibly an extra hour or two would be even better. Be aware that the cable car is out of action for a couple of years !! Still plenty to do though.
Too many stops to and from Gibraltar which are a total waste of time for Malaga guests.
Perfect day. Very organised and brilliant guide. We did the rock tour independently as we wanted more freedom to do Gibraltar at our own pace.
This is definitely a trip that you need to do once. It's amazing to see the Rock. Remember to get photos at the border as the views are very different once you're in town. The main street is really quaint with lots of options for shopping and restaurants. Our tour guide was amazing (Kob, I think). She was funny, knowledgeable and kept everything well-organized.
A few points knocked of as we were not told about requiring our passports prior to the trip. It was only by chance having looked on Google for advice that we thought we better take them ☹️ Whilst there we booked another trip to see the lighthouse/rock & monkeys etc which was 60€ ! Quite expensive in my opinion; the bus we were allocated got impounded by the police as it had an expired MOT ! Needless to say the rest of the trip was rushed & not as pleasurable; there are lots of other places that f interest which should have been included which were not ☹️ I suppose it too the walking up the hills etc out of it but not really worth the price. Sorry 😔
Positive: The tour starts on time. They take you to Gibraltar and back. Driver and tour guide were ok. Negative: The program description is not transparent. So the time to get from Malaga to Gibraltar is 3 hours (one way) - why? Because the bus stops at every small settlement between Malaga and Marbella to pick up 2-3 passangers/settlement. This is not mentioned in the tour itinerary. To travel 2x3 hours is an important thing to not mention in the description. Noteworthy information: On the bus the tour guide offers additional programs for additional money. The Rock tour is 60 pounds. The entrence fee for the natural park is 30 pounds (payed on the spot, no waiting lines), so you are basically paying an additional 30 pounds for the little coach that takes you up and down the rock. As you have ample time to reach the top on foot I warmly suggest to all passengers to skip their additional tour and to have a little walk (this applies only for people have dont have problems with walking ofcourse). This also a transparency issue - as they advertise (probably) on multiple platforms the tour with different itinerary, this should be incorporated into their Viator information. If you leave az 07:15 AM you arraive in Gibraltar at 10:30 AM and have time until 15:30 PM when the bus leaves back for Malaga.
Good trip with a good guide, picked up on time and took to Gibraltar, in Gibraltar at my own leasure to discover, The guide was nice and informative, Would reccomend this trip,
I was shocked when I found out how little others paid to be on our same tour. I will never book through TripAdvisor again.
Pepe gave us an introduction to Gibraltar on our bus ride from Malaga while Sebastian wove effortlessly through the morning traffic. We made two more pick ups in smaller towns along the way. Each one a possibility for future visits. My first impression of Gibraltar was an eye opener. A bustling big city in a small package. Lots of shops and restaurants with a British vibe and a Spanish accent. A friend and I decided to walk up and up past the bustling city to the large Park. Not an easy climb, but well worth it for the view. We ended up visiting the Caves and saw an amazing light show accompanied by music. Pepe and Sebastian delivered us back to Malaga in time for a good nights sleep before flying home early the next morning. A perfect ending to a great vacation.
Efficient pick up and transport across the border. Would recommend doing the rock tour to see around Gibraltar. Saw the monkeys. St Michael’s cave has excellent rock formations. Enjoyed fish and chips in the square. Although the journey is long from Malaga, it is not unpleasant with views of the sea.
Covi was amazing. She spoke both English and Spanish on the tour and was incredibly helpful with going in and out of Gibraltar. She is extremely knowledgeable about the island and you can tell she loves what she does. Absolutely recommend this tour. It's a long day but it's worth it. I did the dolphin tour and it was beautiful
A very well-organised tour with all the information you need provided clearly. Our tour guide, Pepe, was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The minibus tour around the Rock and the cave was excellent, with plenty of stops at stunning viewpoints to take photos and see the monkeys up close. I especially liked having several hours of free time afterwards to explore Gibraltar on our own. The audio guide on the minibus was informative and gave great historical insight into the landmarks and important buildings. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and highly recommended.
We had a great trip to Gibraltar from Malaga with Susanna & Manuel from Visitanddo. The bus was comfortable with plenty of leg room and all day was organised well. Susanna was very helpful and friendly guide. <3
The tourguide made us feel extremely stupid and was basically laughing at us because we forgot our passports. There was no info about passports and im pretty sure this is on purpose. Free money right?
The bus trip was convenient and staff flexible. But five hours is not enough to see even the main points. Taking a local minibus was expensive and the driver/guide's English horrible, not understandable. Disappointing not to be able to take the cable car due to reconstruction of the lift system.
There is much to see. Enjoy. We didn’t get much seen. There was so much more we didn’t have time for
Book the cable car or the minnie bus before you get there. Tha cable car was shut down the day we were there due to wind and rain from the day before, so that does happen. The Minnie bus was ok but they pack you in and I ended up setting on a jump seat in the middle of the as aisle. Well worth seeing Gibraltar but watch out for the hustlers as you get through security.
Bus trip was the downfall but it’s a must do great place to visit . An experience going through passport control getting on and off and on the bus and using yous own money
Our guide Carlos was excellent and our bus driver did a great job. The tour of Gibraltar and the Monkeys on the Rock will be an awesome memory.
Interesting day trip, 5hrs in Gibralter, plenty to see and do. Bus was full and quite cramped, it’s a 3hr ride each way.
It was a great tour to Gibraltar. Yes, it is a long day but Covi the guide managed the logistics very well. Christian the driver very professional. Great team, great day. Gibraltar is a place worry of visit and this company managed it well.
Amazing trip with our bus guide Juan. Very friendly and approachable. We didnt realise that the nature reserve / monkeys are not free to see any longer and the cable car queue was massive and for that to see the monkeys would be an extra 50 pounds ( additional in euros ) per person which would have added an additional 300 pounds when we had already paid 30 per person just for the bus there, a shame really. Can not fault Juan or our driver though.
We initially accidentally reserved the on your own free time visit to Gibraltar. But then we upgraded in the bus to the Dolphin tour which we always wanted. We were lucky with the weather and managed to see the amazing dolphins before it started raining.
Booked this excursion on visitanddo.com - nice PUN, by the way - with Rock Tour mainly because I really wanted to see both Europa Point and the sights on the rock and this seemed like the best option given the limited time we had in Gibraltar. Everything started great, our guide Covi was funny and friendly and organized things very well and things went on excellent until we got on the Rock Tour bus. On the 1.5 hours tour we had a driver which played for us a CD with the description of the places we were passing, pointing with his hands from time to time and saying "on the right" or "to the left". But that wasn't the worst thing. Covi had told us we'd have 20 minutes at the Europa Point (the place from where you see Africa), but the voice on the CD said we only had 10 minutes and when the bus stopped the driver gave us absolutely no indication or direction of what was to see and where. He just said 10 minutes. So we rushed trying to figure out which was Africa and which was mainland Europe, trying to get some photos, not having enough time to see the mosque there or the lighthouse or to go down the walkway nearer to the lighthouse. Then we left and got to St. Michael's cave where he said 20 minutes so we hurried to make sure we were out before the deadline. Once out we waited for another 20-25 minutes before we left, enjoying the monkeys though 10 minutes would have been enough since on the next stop we would have seen them again anyway. Again, no other information from the driver/guide??? Needless to say the Rock Tour was disappointing. Gibraltar is definitely worth visiting - remember to have your passport with you - but had I known what this Rock Tour would be like I would have explored other options
Gibraltar is a must-do day tour if you haven’t been there. We did the rock tour and it gave a great historical perspective of Gibraltar as well as its importance in the present. We also visited St. Michael’s cave which was amazing. The monkeys were adorable and our guide made sure we were able to safely interact with them. Gibraltar also has great shopping deals 👍. So lots to do for the day. 😀 Make sure to bring your Passport, you will need it to enter Gibraltar.
Very nice day trip to Gibraltar. Tour including the Rock, St. Michael's Cave, Apes Den, Skywalk and Pillars of Hercules was great. Lots of nice restaurants and shopping in the city center. Plenty of time to see and do everything without feeling rushed.
