Christina was an amazing guide. I was in awe of how knowledgeable she was about thehistory of the Alhambra.

Positives: the gardens and buildings were nice. Negatives: It was so busy (8000 visitors a day), I felt I was being rushed around. It's really expensive. Overall it was underwhelming. You're better off touring the Alcazaba in Malaga
I really enjoyed it. Our guide was delightful and very knowledgeable. The grounds are beautiful. I thought my ticket included entrance to the palace but it did not. I don’t think it was clear when booking so it was a little disappointing.
Our guide Enrique was great. He was very knowledgeable and explained the details of the day very clearly. Pick up and drop off were prompt. The group size was perfect. It’s a long day so plan to either bring or pick up food during some free time. The optional nasrid palace was beautiful. If this wasn’t added on, then you are obligated to wait for the other participants who go on this part of the tour.
Alhambra is a big area and it really helped to have a tour guide who was very experienced and could tell us all about the area. It was unfortunate that we were unable to get tickets to see the palace.
Our visit to the Alhambra was filled with history, culture, and stories, thanks to Enrique, our guide. He made our pick up, drop off, and transport easy. He was knowledgeable and patient and worked to give our small group of 7 the best visit. The Alhambra is a large place. Our suggestion would be to offer a simple physical printed map for the participants to have as they tour.
The Alhambra tour was both educational and enjoyable, with magnificent scenery. Enrique, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, making sure everyone had a great experience - one of the advantages of having a small group tour (less than 6 people).
Excellent excursion to a beautiful ancient palace. Clean air conditioned transport with very good friendly driver together with excellent, friendly knowledgeable tour guide.
Enrique was fabulous. He was so knowledgeable and attentive and took great care of our group. I highly recommended asking for him for your day trip to the Alhambra in Granada. This is a must see in Spain !!!
There is plenty of time to visit everything in Alhambra. Unfortunately, very little time ( 1 hour) în Granada, just enough to visit the Cathedral and its neighborhood.
Easy pickup point at a central hotel and we had a comfortable journey. We were met by our guide at the Alhambra and started with a tour of the gardens. The walking around was easy, with a few steps. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The palaces were magnificent with beautiful mosaics. A lovely trip and thoroughly recommend it. We find Viator very reliable with excellent staff and punctuality.
You are only really going to have time to see the Alhambra. There is no time to explore Granada Would have loved there to be availability to see the Nasrid palace on our tour.
Beware that the transfer to and from Malaga may be in a taxi / regular car. When travelling solo and in the back of a regular car, this is not necessarily the most comfortable experience. I had assumed wrongly that the trip would be in a coach with proper individual seats when we were 3 people in the back of a car,
Our guide Enrique was truly excellent; thorough, thoughtful, and incredibly informative. Ensured that everyone was comfortable asking questions, and having further discussion about any related topic; knows the best approaches to avoid crowds, so participants are able to max out on the experience! Thank you Enrique!
Very informative and safe driver -0----------------------------------------------------------------------
A must see and absolutely worth a full day. Guide (Christina)was competent and very pleasant. Bus ride could have been a little more relaxed.
All great, plenty of instructions before the day so we knew where to go, to take passports and what was going to happen on the day. Driver was very helpful and friendly. The Alhambra guide was really good, shared lots of information. Be sure to include the Nasrin palaces, they're the star of the show.
The sight itself is worth the visit and Nasri Palace, in my opinion, is the highlight. Tour guide Mercedes is very patient when sharing her knowledgeable but I think she can improve on the way she managed the group. Instead of gathering everyone at each commentary point before sharing her knowledge with us she continuously walked and talked. Those walking closely with her were able to match audio commentary and visuals. Those lagging behind can still hear her because of the radio headsets but missed out on the visual. There were only 18 of us. She did not do periodic headcount and some of us momentarily lost her throughout the tour and I don’t think she even realised it. Our Nasrid Palace tour was better after we adjusted to her practice.
We had a driver pick us up in Malaga and then joined a group at Alhambra with Patricia leading us through the property. It was super valuable to have a guide explain the history and significance of each of the areas of the vast property to understand the purpose and evaluation of each of the areas in past cultures and modern day preservation. highly recommend
Wish we could have had the palace included but we enjoyed our tour anyway . Our guide, Luis , was a native of Granada and very well versed in art, architecture and history . The gardens were lovely and yellow/orange trees for the fall . Easy van ride from Malaga and time to see the cathedral before we entered Alhambra.
Everything went like clockwork. Our guide was so interesting and we learned so much. We thought the price was a bit steep but the experience was so good.
Jana was an excellent quide. Very knowledgeable and open to feedback. Walking is involved but nothing too serious. Our driver from Malaga was also excellent. Money well spent.
Alahambra is a nice city to visit but this was an expensive tour. Ronda was a third of the price and just as good. Also the tour guide didn't show us how to get back to where we were to be picked up at the end. We went the wrong way and had to climb up a very steep hill to get back to where we were supposed to be going.
Our guide was very versed in all the history of the Alhambra. Terrific experience! It was great not standing in lines too.
Everything was on time, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided great information and manage the agenda very well, very good driver . I recommend you book the tour with the palace entry.
It’s a hugh place! Even with many tourists on a Saturday there were places of quiet. Our tour guide Sandra gave a comprehensive review of the history. Many places are free to visit. She gave recommendations of where to explore during our free time.
Great tour, a lot of history and tour guide very knowledgable : Christina. And a short visit to Granada, beautiful town
Great Day Trip and very knowledgable and caring Tour guide from Senegal. Such a lovely person and keen to tell us about history. Highly recommended Tour. I caught gastritis previous night and was feeling still unwell but managed to attend the very wanted tour and see Alhambra and Nasrid Palaces on a hot day. Keep hydrated and enjoy the beautiful history you will hear from the Tour Guide.
Enriqueta was a wonderful guide and went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable trip to Granada and the Alhambra. His knowledge of the history of the region is remarkable. He kept us to the itinerary while being flexible to the groups needs. I would recommend Enrique’s tour to anyone interested in visiting the Alhambra.
Very easy and smooth pickup and travel. Stop off at Granada for breakfast for around 30mins and be given you physical tickets. Then taken to Alhambra where we met our guide that was funny at times and gave great information on the difference parts the complex. You walk around the Generalife palaces, gardens, Alcazaba, Palace of Carlos the V and the Medina. Which all have been greatly presevered. You can pay extra to view the Nasrid Palaces which were beautiful and iconic. Would definitely recommend.
Let me start by saying Cristina was a great tour guide. The Alhambra was underwhelming which is not her fault! The van ride was awful. The van had no suspension and every bump we hit you felt it. Also the AC vents had no vents on the them so the cold air stayed at the ceiling. The van was deathly warm and very uncomfortable. The meeting spot was also misleading and half our group ended up at a different location. All the extraneous stuff made this tour less enjoyable.
Make certain you know the exact logistics if you book this tour while on a cruise ship. We walked 1.6 miles to the terminal (unbeknownst to our cruise personnel as they had no idea where terminal A was in Malaga) and once we got there , saw no sign for Viator in a minivan. In addition, once in the van, the driver picked up others and never said one word about the agenda (how far, do we stop). We did stop after one plus hours for a bathroom break that was a waste of time. The tour itself was wonderful
The tour of Alahambra was fabulous and we are so happy we got to see it. But…there were a couple of buts that went with the tour. We were to have stopped in Granada for an hour and a half. This was a selling point in choosing this trip. We only had 35 minutes and that included the bathroom break. We got a chance to take a glimpse of Granada. The Alahambra tour was great. Our guide, Mercedes, was knowledgeable and kept us together. We really saw every aspect of the place. At the end of the tour, however, she told us we had an hour “free time “ before the driver would return. So, we basically sat, exhausted, in the sun waiting for the driver. The group we were with was wondering why we couldn’t have had the time in Granada and saying we did not need so much time in the last part of the gardens. And waiting the last hour for the driver put a damper on the day.
Our guide was fantastic! He was very kind, helpful, and had lots of fascinating information. Spring is the perfect time to go, not too hot or cold.
This was an outstanding trip. The minibus was waiting for us at the pick up point. The journey to Granada was well driven and we arrived on time. 60 minutes was just long enough for a quick walk and then Churros and chocolate. Then up to the Alhambra where we were met by Christina our guide. Christina’s tour was perfect, well paced with an excellent narrative and answers to all our questions. We did not do the extra Nazarid palace but this gave us 60 minutes to revisit the wonderful gardens and have an ice cream. Pick up and return to Malaga was as good as the journey out. Well done to everyone involved in making this a very special day. Thank you
It was a great experience for me in spite of the rain. The guide was excellent and her explanation was very clear.
I booked 3 tours, Sevilla, Marbella and Alhambra the last was cancelled due to operative problems and was rebooked. Sevilla and Marbella were cancelled due to unconfirmed and or operative problems. They offered me other options on different dates. They refunded the money but that was not my plan. On my opinion the touroperators for those tours are unreliable and if Viator trust on those providers I preferred to do my next tours on my own.
While the Alhambra was impressive, the experience was disappointing overall. There was no commentary on the long bus ride, and the guide at the Alhambra spoke primarily in Spanish with minimal English explanations. We would have learned more if we'd been on our own with an audio guide
Alhambra’s architecture is way more spectacular in person. A must see! Plenty of detail and artistic expression. Loved the gardens and all around stunning views. Sow was our energetic, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Highly recommend!
Excellent guide. Poor execution by tour organizer - unaware a major road run race prevented pick-up at the designated morning departure point, and we then spent an extra 30+ minutes on the bus on the return trip while the full bus detoured to accommodate 5 people on a cruise.
Although the Alhambra was quite spectacular the tour portion was not. Discovering Spain should have been much more prepared than they were. I have no idea how they did not know there was a marathon taking place and the pickup location would not work. Having to walk to a new location in heavy rain resulted in wet footwear for the remainder of the day. Leaving 45 minutes late left very little free time. Upon arrival we were told don’t be late for departure because we had to get guests back to their cruise ship.. The tour guide was very short so we often lost her amongst the people. Other tours we have been on the guide had a flag or umbrella to track them. She would be describing something but we couldn’t tell where she was. We have no idea what she was describing unless we were by her side which wasn’t fair to the rest in the group. It sounds petty, but with large crowds we had no idea where she was. When we got back to Malaga we passed our drop off point by a block to return a very small group of people to their cruise ship. That was a very unnecessary 20+ minutes on a bus. We were told we would return for 5PM, we did not arrive until after 5:30. In summary, the location was fabulous, the coordination by Discovering Spain was terrible. My rating is a reflection of the tour operator and not the venue.
This was not as advertised. The bus left Malaga on time and there was some beautiful scenery on the way but no commentary on the way. Upon arriving in Granada there was a one hour stop somewhere in the center of town. After the one hour break we were taken to the Alhambra and given a tour for only 2 hours and the tour did not end where it started. So it was confusing getting back to the starting point. The tour started at 12 noon and ended at 2PM and the bus back to Malaga departed at 3:45 PM. Apparently the entrance fee was approximately 11 Euros but the tour cost over 100 Euros. So not worth the money as it was an expensive bus ride under two hours each way. I honestly cannot recommend this tour and should of known better when booking as it had a no cancellation policy versus most other tours on TripAdvisor similar to this tour
This trip was a bit of a disappointment. Our tour guide met us at the pick up point and didn't even introduce himself. During the 1,1/2 hour drive to Grenada, there was no commentary at all about what we were seeing along the way. Other tour operators we used in Malaga pointed out interesting points along the way. We were expecting to wander around in Grenada and see the city, but we were dropped off on a dead end street outside of the tourist area and told to get off the bus, have a cup of coffee and be back in 40 minutes. Alhambra was interesting, but a bit boring and too busy. The tour bus was late in picking us up and although a text message was sent letting people know of the delay, not everyone had access to text messages. The tour guide should have asked the group if they had been notified and at least informed those who didn't get the message. When asked about the delay by an elderly gentleman, the guide made no attempt to explain that there was a delay and rudely replied to him "that's life" then walked away.
Poor organization. During the trip, the guide only assumed the role of counting us and handing us over to the Alahambra guides depending on the requested presentation language. In Granada we had 40 minutes to run to see a little of the city. (Cathedral) The guided tour of Alhambra had an interesting presentation, it started at 12:20 and ended at 14:20. The departure from Alahambra was at 16.20. These two hours of waiting, we prefer to spend them in Granada..... The option of visiting the Nasrid palace was not clearly presented in the offer, I practically did not have this option. And the price is a bit too high (125 euros/person) considering the distance traveled by bus and the cost of a ticket with a guided tour (about 40 euros)
Cristina was a very knowledgeable guide. Alhambra was beautiful in mid September. Fair warning, if you want to see Nasrid Palace book at least 4 months out to avoid disappointment, it sells out fast! Also, amazing churros at Cafe futbol in Granada.
This Alhambra Day Trip was really well organized, and everything from the coach bus, to the tours of all the palaces, was great! I chose the option to add the Nazaries Palaces, and was glad I did. This was another beautiful part of the tour. I give kudos to our tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, and was even kind enough to take photos of us. The only thing I would have liked, is a little more time in Granada to walk around and shop. But I realize we were on a schedule. This was truly a worthwhile trip, and is definitely a MUST DO!
My husband, son and daughter had a lovely day with a patient and knowledgeable tour guide Luis. The bus was full to capacity and was prompt and smooth. We had about thirty minutes of free time in Granada and then proceeded to the Al Hambra where we met Luis. I thought it was well done and a good pace. We all learned a lot.
Very professional and knowledgeable. Took time to explain all the details. Everything from pick up to drop off was according to plan
We had a wonderful time. Everything went well, the drive was smooth, the guide was very helpful and explained everything with details. Thank you
Great experience. Highly recommended. Guide was very good. it seemed like it needed two guides because they was two different itineraries. There was also confusion about where to meet the guide
