Itinerary
The Gathering & Access Point: Meet your official, certified guide at the North Access. Upon arrival, look for the Caminito del Rey staff wearing the dark blue uniform. Simply introduce yourself to the staff member and state that your reservation is with Discovering Spain. You will need to provide the name on your booking, the number of people in your party, and your scheduled tour time. All this essential information is clearly printed on your voucher.
Walk through the initial path and the first suspended walkways. The guide will focus on the Caminito's dramatic history: its construction in the early 1900s, the dangers workers faced, and the reasons King Alfonso XIII commissioned it. This section sets the stage for the gorge.
As the initial path gives way to the vertical rock faces, prepare yourself for the main event. You are about to step onto the legendary suspended walkways—an engineering feat visible from space. This section is where the Caminito earns its reputation. Pause to appreciate the sheer scale of the Gaitanes Gorge, marvel at the crystal-clear water 100 meters below, and get your camera ready. Your guide will ensure you capture the best views while sharing lesser-known facts about the trail's daring reconstruction.
This is the heart of the Caminito, where the walkways are suspended highest above the Gaitanes Gorge. The guide will interpret the incredible geological formations, the river, and the unique flora and fauna of the area. There will be designated moments for photography.
Complete the final section and the path towards the exit near El Chorro. The guide will conclude the tour with information on the reconstruction process and its modern use as a natural park. The guide will direct you to the official exit points and the available shuttle bus stop (Note: Shuttle bus fee is separate and not included).

Specif directions fpr parking were null
This is a great experience, the cliffs are amazing and our guide was excellent. Walking over the bridges at the end is great fun. Just make sure you arrive in plenty of time as it is a bit fiddly getting parked and walking to the start. The route is linear so also allow plenty of time at the end to get the bus back to wherever you have left your car.
At the start they didn't believe we had booked and paid. The guide was very inpatient helping us to hear the voice by the headset. And when it worked you couldn't nearly hear what he say. So we decided to walk ourselves. The Caminito itself was amazing
Be careful to use the correct access tunnel and not the one next to the shuttle drop off it will save a much longer walk!!
Great tour and beautiful hike, but the instructions were extremely vague and we missed our original time so we had to wait 30 minutes to start in the heat.
Fabulous area of natural beauty, stunning views and a fantastic walk above a picturesque gorge! Signposting and directions were poor and so many folk seemed lost in finding the ‘meeting point’ which is a good mile walk from drop off point. Here it was rushed and we were herded off once helmets handed out and then disappointed to find we had no guide or audio- this did however, suit us, as we followed the crowd at our own pace and took in the natural beauty which was incredible! So glad we did this, and without a guide, from coach drop off to the very end, approx 5miles took us just over 2 hours and we loved it
I would really recommend doing this hike but do note there is a pretty long walk to get to the meeting point , not much guidance at the entrance and then no guidance on how to get the shuttle back to the limited parking area 30 minutes away. Otherwise great experience.
Well organised and helpful to have guide (Jesus) explain about the history, as well as wildlife information Thoroughly enjoyed
The experience was breathtaking, so travelers should wear comfortable clothing , bring water, and have hiking shoes are something similar to that
It was a bit tricky to find the place to meet the guide. You have to walk abort 15 minutes after you've parked your car. No information on the direction, but you have to trust the GPS.
our experience lasted around 2 hours, the guide (Cristobal) was friendly and informative. the staff speak English as well as Spanish and other languages as well. there was no reception on mobile phones to show our tickets however we just stated our name on tickets and that was fine. alternatively take a screen shot of the tickets and bar/QR code
Very strenuous but extraordinary. Our guide, whose name I forgot - maybe Anita or Amy, was a tiny woman with nonstop energy and enthusiasm. Getting to the start of the tour and from the end to the starting point should be factored in because it adds to the difficulty. That said, I am glad we had such an incredible adventure!
Great walk, but a lot of people which spoilt the walk a little bit.
Well informed guide about the history of the Camamito, very willing I'm taking group photograph's and answer questions
Excellent experience! The guide was very sweet, the tour was very infromative and interesting, thank you!
We booked a tour as the general entry tickets were not available, if they are available I suggest to skip a tour. The tour adds very little. The hardest part of this walk is finding where to enter and then returning to your point of entry with the shuttle bus. Neither of which the tour helps with at all. They meet you at the north access and they leave you before finding the shuttle bus. What the tour is for I couldn’t really say. They provide you with a head set to listen to the guide but the quality of the sound was so poor you couldn’t understand. It was just noise in your ears so I removed my headphones within 5 minutes. The staff that greet you were not friendly and when we arrived helped to make you feel like a herded animal with comments like ‘I will remove the chain, once I’ve removed chain you can move forward to collect your helmet’. There was literally nothing to recommend this tour. Provided you book early enough to get the general entry tickets just do that. You need to find the entry point and navigate the shuttle bus yourself but with the tour you do that anyway.
Avoid wasting money on tickets from these apps; experience a guided tour directly with Caminito del Rey at a lower cost. The guide was incredible, so choose to book directly with them and skip the middleman. We initially expected a smaller tour when purchasing this, but it turned out to be a scam since we went with the Caminito del Rey tour guide. He was exceptional—book directly with them and avoid unnecessary middlemen.
Very good. A bit scary at times. Loved every minute of it. The guides were great. The view was spectacular.
Great experience, very well organised, strongly recommend! we had a perfect weather also, with some sunshine and good temperature. The view is breathtaking.
Be prepared for lots of walking both before and after the Caminto trek. Depending on where you park it could be a long walk to the entrance and then from the cave entrance to the gorge is also a bit of a distance, although flat. So worth it! Be prepared if you are scared of heights for steep narrow stairs and the suspension bridge (As someone who is.. there were some moments i had to power through but it really is so worth it)
Amazing experience walking the Caminito del Rey a beautiful area with spectacular and dramatic views
We missed this tour due to confusion regarding the parking directions. Luckily we were allowed to walk individually so the money wasn’t completely wasted. We would have liked to hear information about the area though. Although I choose not to recommend - I hope the tour operators can clarify the parking instructions for future patrons. The walk itself and the views were terrific.
Fantastic! This was the best experience from our whole Andalusia trip. The guide was funny and whole walk was well organized.
Very interesting history of the area. Beautiful views of the gorge and beyond. The walk is manageable. However there are still approx 800 meters afterwards. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable.
Great views! Good hiking trails. Audio equipment very poor. Transmission cuts in and out making it difficult to hear guide.
Spectacular views and unforgettable hike experience Unique adventure in the Spanish countryside well worth the experience
The guided tour is only good if you get a good guide. We had a guide that started off by telling us he "was the worst guide" they had. The views are amazing, you don't really need a guide.
Amazing experience. The views were as great as the website pictures. We felt safe and would recommend to others. Only issue was the parking and where the start was which was a little confusing after you go through the tunnel but we asked people along the way and got there in time. (Leave more time than you think you need).
It was well organised with clear instructions EXCEPT for how to find the meeting point once you arrived at the restaurant. Because the path was shut once you went through the first tunnel (as shown in the instructions) , you needed to walk up the road a bit further and then turn off to get to the North entrance.
The walk was fantastic with a very interesting guide explaining various aspects along the way. The restaurant at the start served an excellent steak meal before we began.
An exhilarating high-level walkway through this spectacular gorge with the fast flowing river thundering below. Our guide was great and explained a lot about this history, geology and wildlife which added a lot to our experience. It was busier than we expected so some queuing was involved and joining instructions didn't tell us about the 20 minute walk to the meeting point so we were a little late. We thoroughly recommend this as a day trip with lots of walking involved.
Great walk, lovely guided tour! The wait at the beginning was a bit tedious and felt unorganised but once we got going it was great!! Thank you!
The walk is beautiful, especially in good weather. People with the fear of heights might not enjoy it that much though. We did have some problems with downloading our tickets. Since there's hardly any staff to be of assistance at the venues, we ended up doing the tour without a guide.
It was outstanding as far as the actual surroundings and your guide was good…she took a little time to get warmed up with explanations! Also , more info should have been given regarding the shuttle bus stops!
My wife and I are 71 and had no trouble with the trip. The views are spectacular but there is no danger. The walkway is smooth and wide like a sidewalk. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring appropriate outerwear.
This was awsome, the experience was the highlight of our trip to malaga and seville. This is a top tip.....make sure you download your tickets before you arrive as there is a signal in the area
The tour was stunning! Our guide was Fernando and he was great! He was very knowledgeable and had great humor as well which made it fun.
Well organized, amazing views! Definitely recommend this adventure. Come prepared with water and snacks the hike will take about 2 hours.
Instructions were lacking in the actual meeting spot. When leaving we did not realize we had to pay for a shuttle to get back to the car. Guide was informative, but you need to stay close to hear.
A good day out overall. Finding the meeting point is rather vague and they should have emailed directions sooner, probably as soon as I prepaid the tour. I also question the need for wearing the helmets which get uncomfortable after a while. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable afternoon.
Caminito is breathtakingly beautiful. Our wonderful guide provided a lot of information as we walked and kept us all safe too.
Save money and skip the guided tours. Just read up on the history and walk the gorge. The guides are extremely hard to understand mostly because of poor audio pieces provided by the tour guide.
It was so good to do but we did find it a little confusing as to where to park, where exactly to meet for the correct meeting point. Staff there though were really helpful & friendly. Beautiful scenery and very glad that we did the experience.
it was an amazing experience. the tour guide was excellent and very attentive about the group. Instead of speaking loudly to the whole group, she used a small microphone and gave us individual headsets, so it was much easier to hear and understand her.
It was awesome. Also we did the 2.1 km walk to the entrance where there is beautiful scenery and you can see parts of the trail. There is great hiking in a few sections when you are not on the elevated sections.
Great hike! Great heights! Very fun and crazy gorgeous. Our guide was amazing and overall it was a great, very scenic and breathtaking hike. Directions on Google maps are WRONG. Not enough directions on Viator AT ALL. Lots of people were at wrong place. Go towards North Acceso signs, go past El Mirador Restaurant and park at the first parking lot on left after restaurant. You will see a small check in building. Terrible to no good directions on Viator!!
The Caminito del Rey Guided Tour was absolutely incredible! The scenery was breathtaking — dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, and a thrilling walkway suspended high above the gorge. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny, and made the history of the area come alive. The pace was comfortable, with plenty of time for photos. Highly recommend this tour — it’s an unforgettable experience🤩
Really good overall. Was worth travelling all the way to see the breathe taking views and so close to the great heights with history of events.
If you get a chance, don’t miss this! The most spectacular experience and views. Our guide, Alejandro, was absolutely incredible- funny and engaging! He told us so many interesting and fun facts. Something to note, once you arrive at the starting point (a bit of a walk but beautiful), you may have to ask around until you find where you need to line up and which group you’re with. I was looking for a marker or a sign but there weren’t any. Make sure you show your ticket to the people working there and they will direct you where to go. Hope you enjoy this memorable experience!
