Had a great day visiting the gorge with guidance from Esmeralda. The trip was very friendly and well organised. The place itself was stunning but the walk was well paced, the weather beautiful and our Caminito del Rey guide, Pepe, was really friendly and fun. Can definitely recommend the trip and the fantastic people organising it. If you wonder about coming here, don't hesitate. Just take plenty of sunscreen, and choose the "high season" but balanced weather months, like October or November.

It was a difficult day for our guide as we had torrential rainfall as we queued for the walk. He however left us standing in the deluge for 5 minutes before telling us to take cover. When the trek concluded and we walked to the rendezvous site for the coach, we had to wait for almost 40 minutes for the pick up as the bus was waiting at a different place. He blamed the bus diver but surely the guide was in charge of the trip and should have made sure that the driver knew what to do. The actual walk was fantastic but the organisation could have been a lot better.
From booking straight through to drop off, everything was excellent. The pick up was easy to find and the bus, being air-conditioned, was really comfortable and the journey to the Caminito was really smooth. The driver was really good around those country roads and bends. Our guide, Louis, was gentle with his bitesize snippets of the history of the Caminito. The trail itself is gentle and you can be any age or ability to do this - trust me, I have chronic sciatica and I managed it no probs. I do have a fear of heights and it was scary at times but everything is safely built and secure. It is an amazing achievement to have built this trail and the two suspension bridges are epic! I was proud of myself for having crossed the first one at 160m above the river. It must be seen to be beleived and to see the ancient geology was amazing!!! There is a nice little area at the end of the walk to have snacks e.g. hot dogs, burgers etc and you're able to buy souvenirs. Overall, this is a must do activity when you visit Malaga, especially on a Sunday as the city is very quiet. 10/10!!!
Caminito del Rey is fabulous and should not be missed. Our issue was with the tour itself. We could not hear anything but garbled sounds the entire three hour walk. Most people in our group simply removed their headphones. The half hour stop right after leaving Malaga to make us buy things at a store was absolutely ridiculous. But the biggest issue was the absolute zero information we received because we couldn’t hear.
A full bus from Malaga and an hours bus journey to get there. A long walk from bus to start, a long, long walk along the cliffs and a long walk back to bus! Exilerating views and a cheeky happy guide made it a great day.
Prompt pick up, well organised trip. Knowledgeable and friendly guide Louis- a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Amazing experience. Frederika was our guide on the road, and Cristobal on the Caminito. Cristobal is a great guide, very knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor. I really enjoyed the tour under his guidance. Feel free to ask him whatever, I'm sure he'll know the answer. Frederika was also our ray of sunshine, making sure everything run smoothly. I won't forget Peter, our excellent bus driver. :) Def. adventure worth coming.
I thoroughly enjoyed walking the Caminito del Rey and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my visit to the Costa del Sol. The walk itself was exceptional. The spectacular cliffside pathways, dramatic gorge and breathtaking scenery make this a truly unforgettable experience. There is something incredibly special about walking through this landscape and experiencing the Caminito from such a unique perspective. It was an adventure I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. My only criticism would be the organisation at the entry point. It felt somewhat disorganised, particularly as there didn’t appear to be much adherence to the start times specified on the tickets. A clearer system for managing entry times would make the experience considerably smoother and reduce some of the initial confusion. That said, once on the Caminito, everything was well worth it. The scenery, the engineering and the overall experience more than made up for the slightly chaotic start. I would absolutely recommend Caminito del Rey to anyone visiting Andalucía or the Costa del Sol. It was one of the standout experiences of my entire trip and a memory I’ll take away with me. 🇪🇸🥾🏞️
Very friendly and insightful tour guides, easy to follow in English or in German. You learn so much from the tour guides about the history of the Caminito del Rey you would miss otherwise. An absolute must do for the picturesque views and definitely book this tour guides!
Great experience with my family. Very relaxed and easy walk with scenic views. Memorable experience for my kids. Tour guide was very nice, we opted to go at our own pace. Bus was clean and transportation simple. Not the company’s fault but we are fast walkers and had to wait a while for slower group to reach finish so we could depart. Recommend!
Excellent tour, great guide, beautiful landscape and a nice hike. The caminito del rey reminds us how small we are, how awesome God is in all His creations and the brillance of mankind's ingenuity!
Great experience, highly recommend for anyone visiting Malaga. Our guide was very knowledgable and the radios were great and meant we could walk and enjoy the views and still hear the history. Food and drink is very reasonably priced when you get to the end too, not like most tourist attractions!
Really good few hrs walk great views not for the faint hearted obv Fantastic guides very knowledgeable forgot our mans name but he was very good.not to difficult in the right footwear we actually did the 5 o'clock last tour of the day and it was perfect.
Very apprehensive at the beginning but once started the whole day was very enjoyable
We had an amazing experience at Caminito del Rey! A big thank you to our guide, Esmeralda, and our bus driver, Jose. My husband and I were absolutely delighted with the tour. Esmeralda was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. She explained everything so well and brought the history and stories behind the places to life. Thanks to her, we learned so much and enjoyed the experience even more. Jose was also very friendly and made the journey comfortable and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you both for making our day so special!
This was a great tour and experience from the moment we were picked up . The tour was very well organized. Esmeralda was fantastic, very personable, friendly, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the tour. Highly recommended, this is a must when you visit Malaga .
Great experience! At the end there are snacks and food to buy . They give you a water - but bring extra especially in the heat !
The pick up was very clear and easy to find. Overall the whole experience was great everyone is very organised and informative.
Pick up well organized left a little late Looking for missing booked pax. Guide at canyon gave no historical information regarding development or who the used the original passage. Very disappointed with hike guide. Gave no relevant information and we were slowed down by endurance of group. Transportation was excellent but really would have liked some historical relevance. Really enjoyed stop on the way!!! I would include this as a highlight in tour description.
Our guide, Esmeralda, was excellent. Knowledgeable, good English, kept checking throughout we were walking at an acceptable pace, regular reminders to drink lots of water and apply sunscreen. The walk through the gorges was stunning. Pictures dont do it justice. Breathtaking scenery. I'd definitely recommend it. But...you need to be fit enough for about 5 mile hike, on uneven paths with lots of stairs - and it was 32⁰C the day we went. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Everything was perfect down to the smallest detail. Bus driver, both tour guides, everyone was taking care of us like family. The views are indescribable. No point coming to this area if you don’t go to Caminito Del Ray. Most beautiful thing I’ve seen in my life.
The experience was great, the vies are gorgeous. However the microphone was not working for the tour guide. She made stops along the way to review the history.
Fantastic trip, well organised and a really good and fun guide in Lewis. Stunning scenery, great exercise and a lovely little picnic area at the end selling cold drinks and food. A definite must do activity when visiting the area
This was the most beautiful walk I’ve ever been on, I’m afraid of heights and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, there were a few parts where I was clinging on for dear life but that was only to take pictures
Amazing view, great tour guide and driver and also if you are travelling solo, nice way too meet new people.
Incredible - definitely worth it! Stunning part of the world and such a beautiful place!
Well organized and great knowledge of area of the hike! Was also a bonus for a stop to a smaller Spanish town
Brilliant trip. Everything was very well organised, everything ran to time. Esmerelda was an excellent guide. We were so impressed. It is a trip well worth doing despite the heat.
Wow, what an absolutely beautiful place this is, great experience the guide tells you the whole history of the place, stunning scenery
Well organised. Luis the coach rep was well organised, informative and engaging. You do need to wear good footwear like trainers. Despite wearing my sturdy arch support Berkenstocks I wasn't allowed to do the excursion unless I bought a pair of the most uncomfortable daps for €30 which had no arch support so I had blisters and sore feet by the end. The terrain is a little rough, but doable, not for the faint-hearted. Fabulous experience, amazing views and scenery. The guide at the Caminito was also knowledgeable, gave a great history of the place. A little more time to take in the views and shear size of the place would have been nice and the headsets kept breaking up. Still an amazing day and would do again in trainers.
This is a must do trip. Fantastic scenery. From the coach trip from Malaga, the tour itself, and return journey all went incredibly smoothly. The guide was wonderful and very informative. Can't recommend this trip enough.
Amazing unforgettable experience to see the beauty of nature in great heights. Very friendy and informative tour guide Esmeralda, with the bus driver Alejandro who drove us safely to Caminito del Rey
Beautiful trip, lovely sceneries in Caminito del Rey. Everything was well organized. The guide was also very good.
Excellent organisation. Good to get a free water. The quick loo & lunch stop in a small village worked out really well before the walk. Beautiful views & great tour information from Esmerelda. Will definitely do again as need to try the new bridge!
Amazing experience with an amazing guide
Great experience and awesome guide! Fantastic views. Totally worth it
The tour guy on the bus in the drywall were excellent once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend tour. Thank you, Tripadvisor.
Me and my bestie (in our 50s), did this and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Esmeralda , Alejandro and Juan made for an enjoyable day. Juan was our guide for the walk and was friendly and knowledgable. We would definitely recommend it if you are coming to Malaga.
Well organised tour with comfortable transport and great guide. The walk was lovely around 5 miles but as a walker I personally found it a bit slow due to the information being shared by the guide. Views scenery were spectacular not a bad tour I’m not skating it at all but I would personally have prepared to be able to walk it myself and go a little quicker.
A great trip from start to finish. Our guide was very enthusiastic and put you at ease along the way. So glad I did the trip.
Great experience but very slow, be patient. Really good day but if you are used to hiking / walking on a regular basis you will find this very tame. Worth doing the tour for the history
Excellent guide, great experience
It is a little scary but way cool! It is important to not have any mobility issues and be able to comfortably walk 5 miles.
it was stunning going through the canyons and along the wooden platforms, there were a lot of people that would stop to take a photos, but this did not allow people behind to pass by, the guide could have made this clear that if you want a photo allow space for others to pass, the guide was "Luis" and was fantastic he could speak 5 languages fluently, i am 67 & my wife is 66 and by the time we where returning to the picnic area we were worn out, we did 16,000 steps. the picnic area was very well set out with various shops, this hike would be very difficult in the peek of summer, all in all this was a moment to remember!!
.Once in a lifetime experience!
Esmeralda was amazing!! Fantastic experience with a guide that was knowledgeable, down to earth and had a great sense of humor!!
Everything was great. Esmeralda the guide was wonderful and all went smoothly. And we even had an extra stop in a white village that was great.
Our visit to Caminito del Rey was awesome !! Highly recommend it! Our host on the bus was very informative and made the bus trip enjoyable. Our guide for the trek through the Caminito was also very informative and kept a good pace.
The trip to Caminito del Rey is well worth it; the guide who led the hike was very entertaining and informative.
Enjoyed the walk. Beautiful views.
