One of the best experiences we’ve had in Spain. Alfonso was a very experienced and attentive guide. I would recommend his tour 100%. We will look forward to more adventures with him in the future.

Great tour to Caminito del Rey. Everything was perfect. The views in the canyon are stunning.
This was such an incredible experience. Super easy hike with breathtaking views. The host was very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend
Great trip to Caminito del Rey! The small-group experience was excellent and made the tour much more enjoyable. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and shared lots of interesting information along the way.
Great day. Informative guide, nice picnic at the end. Good to go in the morning before it gets too hot.
Even though we went on a weekday, it was still very crowded and so we had to wait in lines to access some of the areas. The lunch area was full when we arrived, and our picnic was just a quick stop.
Fabulous day either way a lovely small group of interesting people. Alfonzo was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Highly recommended
We had a wonderful time hiking Caminito del Rey. We enjoyed being in a small group, which made it easier to ask questions and keep the hiking at a quicker pace. I would definitely recommend this hike to anyone interested in exploring this beautiful area.
We met our guide Alfonso at the designated meeting place just outside the old town of Malaga. Our small group of 8 people drove to Caminito del Rey with Alfonso giving us information and answering our questions. Once we arrived, we were given hard hats and a short introduction by one of the camp personnel. It was a 7.7 kilometer hike on a combination of mostly suspended-one-meter-wide wooden planks above the most stunning crevices and canyons and streams, a few stairs, a couple of intimidating hanging bridges, some gravel walkways and the most spectacular views! During this 2-hour hike, Alfonso made sure we were all doing just fine. He made us stop several times to catch our breath, drink water and take photos along the way. Once we reached the base, Alfonso prepared our picnic of cheese, ham and bread. Walked back to the parking lot then drove back to Malaga. I highly recommend this tour for families, friends, couples and even solo travelers. Gracias Alfonso!
Alfonso was a wonderful guide . This tour is suitable for people of moderate fitness … you and older
Had a fantastic time with our guide Alfonso hiking the Caminito del Rey! My wife and I are 64 and 66 years old respectively and we were worried when we originally booked the tour that we would be slower than the rest of the group and hold everyone back. Malaga Activa Tours assured us that there would be no problems, that the tour has everyone walking at a comfortable leisurely pace. They were true to their word and we had a great hike along with six others and our guide for a total of nine people. The weather was perfect and the day was topped off by a wonderful picnic lunch provided by Alfonso at the end. If you are in Malaga we would definitely recommend the Caminito del Rey Small Group Tour from Malaga with Picnic by Malaga Activa Tours rather than trying to arrange everything on your own.
Amazing 7 km walk through canyon. Not scary but impressive. Tour guide was just ok. Not personable. Certainly recommend the activity.
Highly recommend this small group vs over a large bus. The tour goes at a good pace not too slow or fast. The guide is very friendly and knowledgeable
A fantastic experience that’s well worth doing, particularly if you haven’t done it before. Make sure to wear comfortable trainers and be prepared for plenty of walking. Our guide was very knowledgeable and led the group at an enjoyable, steady pace. Overall, it was a great day out and one I’d happily recommend to others.
Alfonso is propabely the best guide we had! Speaks english fluently. It was really good with a small group. He knows everything about Camino del Ray and gave us great tips in Malaga. I really do recommend this tour!
We really enjoyed our guided walk/hike. It was about 5km total distance through 2 river gorges. Spectacular views as we walking on those narrow sidewalks hanging over the water. We felt very safe and enjoyed our picnic lunch after the walk. It was about an hour drive from Malaga.
Enjoyed walking the Camino and our guide did a terrific job providing history and geology of the hike.
Make sure you wear layers, we had fantastic weather but a few days beforehand it had been cold and windy so you need to be prepared. Sturdy shoes and a good head for heights. The walk around the canyons is amazing and the scenery is breathtaking. I've never experienced anything like this before, an absolute must for anyone visiting Malaga, you won't regret it. Our guide, Alfonso, was exceptional, he kept the pace of walking just right and gave us lots of information about the history of the trail, the geology of the canyon formation, and the birds and wildlife that inhabit it. A truly fantastic experience.
Me and my friend did this tour and had an incredible time. Alfonso was a great guide. He knew a lot of history about the area and also entertained us with jokes! The hike itself was very manageable and Alfonso did a good job about making sure we stopped when group members seemed tired. The group was only 8 people, which made for a more personal and enjoyable experience. The food provided was more than enough and very welcome after the long walk. We were also given water for during the hike. Be aware that you will be walking very high up along the side of a cliff. The path is very safe and neither me nor my friend felt in any danger, but I could see the walk being scary for those with a fear of heights. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to walk Caminito del Rey.
Awesome daytrip with wonderful views
Our guide was prompt, professional, and well-informed about the canyon and its history. He set a pace that everyone could maintain. The walk is mostly level, with stairs in some spots. There are railings and/or steel cables to hang on to if you’re scared like I was, or need some support on stairs or wet surfaces (it was raining). The canyon really is amazing and well worth a visit. There are a variety of surfaces, so wear sturdy shoes.
This was our second trip with Alfonso and Malaga Activa, having previously walked Torcal de Antequera with him last year and we were not disappointed. As is clear from the description, this is a small group tour and we were picked up at the rendevous point on time and then taken on a great day out. The Caminito del Rey is genuinely spectacular and absolutely worth visiting if you have the opportunity. Yes, there are heights but my partner who is really not good with them really enjoyed the experience. What seems to set Malaga Activa aside is Alfonso's knowledge of the area, its history and obvious love of the nature there. The next time we are in Malaga, we will have no hesitation in walking with Malaga Activa again.
If you don’t mind heights or a semi-demanding walk, fantastic! We took the small group tour out of Malaga with our enthusiastic guide Alfonso. We even saw a mother mountain goat with a young one. Every corner presented an amazing view. Just to note: the pickup address on Calle Cerezuelo is not the location of the tour company, just a pickup point near the Novotel.
Some stairs up and down but generally fairly easy. Heights spook me so didn’t look down too much. Had my big boy pants on and did fine.
Alfonso made everything about the trip super simple, from communicating with him prior to the trip, the meeting point, the drive to the canyon and of course the trail itself. The trip was very informative and made better by the fact that this was limited to a small group. If you get the chance to go, I would definitely recommend this trip.
Highly recommended…we went to Caminito del Rey in a small group and everything was smooth. The views are stunning. We crossed many big groups in a line of more than 40 people. Happy we chose this tour
The trip in a private van with only 8 people was quick and comfortable. During the whole excursion, Alfonso was known by all the workers at CAMINITO as very knowledgeable and experienced. We enjoyed quick access, a great picnic at the end, and a fast return. Caminito del Rey is wonderful, and I highly recommend it, but please be aware that if you suffer from vertigo, are afraid of heights, or can't walk about 7 km, this excursion might not be for you. Caminito del Rey Small Group Tour from Malaga with Picnic is a great activity
Booked and paid my the extra to have the picnic inclusion. We received one banana, a piece of bread, a slice of manchego and a slice of Serrano ham. This is not a picnic it’s a rip-off. Was it worth having a private guide- no. There is nothing you will miss without. Pre book your €10 entrance ticket and do this yourself. Do not book this trip expecting a lovely picnic lunch experience. It does not exist. Highly disappointed. However the walk was lovely
Interesting facts during the tour, good local food and incredible views! Nice drive from Malaga. Would recommend anytime!

I would give 6 stars if possible. Alfonso led us through the canyon and explained a lot about the canyon. He was kind and patient. Moved at a thoughtful pace. Communication about tour, pickups, drop offs was consistent and timely.
Great experience, guide was very good Not too hard, views amazing, highly recommend. Nice picnic lunch, guide was very good
Our guide Alfonso was fantastic. He was very organised and very informative and looked after us well. I would recommend this tour to all of my family and friends
Wonderful excursion providing a perfect blend of a refreshing hike with spectacular vistas. The hike was invigorating, but not strenuous. It was also thrilling, but never threatening. Alfonso was a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide. The smaller group enhanced the overall enjoyment of the excursion.
Amazing experience with a great guide. The small group definitely makes a big diference with other groups (30-40 people). The van makes the drive much faster than the big buses, not big lines in the toilet. The views are stunning. The picnic a great touch at the very end. We are coming back with friends in few months and we will repeat the excursion with the same agency.
Our guide was filled with information on the history of Caminito Del Rey. He lead us on a safe and picturesque path. Great adventure to do while in Malaga.
Without a guiide like Alphons was this is only a walking tour. With his guiding, explanations and communication skills this adventure was amazing and wonderfull. Thank you.
The Caminito is a fantastic experience and our guide Alfonso was great. He was informative and kept things light with some humour.
Alfonso was a very nice guy and very knowledgable about the history, wildlife, geology of this area. The walk itself was stunning and definitely not to be missed! It was great to be in a small group of 8.
Well organised, personal input, guide knowledge excellent. It was a brilliant experience- breathtaking!
We had a wonderful time with Alfonso as our guide. He was a wealth of information about the trail and the surrounding areas. The scenery is breathtaking. The trail was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Well worth the trip.
The whole trip was an awesome experience. Alfonso was a great guide and very funny. He just made the whole experience that much more fun.
It was everything I’d imagined and more. Very interesting and amusing guide .then a little picnic to finish the morning off . We did underestimate the cold and should’ve put a few extra layers on
It was an absolutely enjoyable walk with the nice and knowledge guide Alfonso, although the weather was a bit disappointing.
It was great to go in a small group and with an experienced, calm and competent guide like Alfonso. It was a bit windy and rainy for some of the walk, but I never felt like I was in any danger at any point of the walk. It’s a fairly easy and very gorgeous 3-hour adventure that I highly recommend.
If you go to Malaga you MUST do this trip. The Caminto Del Rey is completely breathtaking - even more so than in the photos on the web. It looks super-scary but in fact the walkway is really solid and safe and it's pretty easy going. Our guide Alfonso was superb, and added a huge amount of insight to the walk. All in all a great, very well organised day.

Fantastic experience - my best in Spain. The views from the cliff side path were by far the best. Guide was great and explained history, rock formation and wildlife along the way. The picnic lunch was a nice touch at the end of the walk.
A fantastic and well run tour by Alfonso, taking care of us all the way. Gave us interesting facts as we went along.
We booked this as a base for a week around taking part in the Marathon. It was perfect very quiet but close to some lovely shops and bars. The loft is very thoughtfully equipped with everything needed. I don’t know why anyone would have cause to complain it’s a little gem of a place. I would say though that it is at the top of a steep hill and at the top of the hill several flights of steps but obviously that only applies if you walk. There is a great bus service ( several in fact) some go further up the hill than others. There is a way to walk to avoid the steps but that takes longer of course. It’s good exercise ! We walked into Malaga central every day it takes about 45 minutes. It’s a lovely walk along the sea front in temperatures in December of 20 degrees. Some great bars en route as well. We hired bikes locally as well and explored in both directions The apartment is very nice indeed cool and airy. The host was very attentive ( we had keys left in a keysafe) this suited us fine but lots of opportunities to contact host if needed but it wasn’t. Shower always hot dishwasher etc all worked very well. Lots of nice touches throughout Shops nearby less than 2/3 minutes a supermarket and one of the nicest bakeries/ restaurant I’ve been in in ages We got a train from the airport to Malaga central and a bus from there it was very easy to get to by public transport I highly recommend and would love to go back again
