Alhambra, Nasrid Palaces And Generalife Private Tour From Malaga

Everything about this tour was EXCELLENT. The owner reached out to me the day before and asked that we get off the Jody as soon as possible. It was a smart move! We avoided traffic and crowds. Jose was an excellent driver. He picked us up at the port, drove us to Alhambra and highlights of our drive. Lara was phenomenal. Insightful, smart and polite. Best tour!!!

This was a memorable day, perhaps the most memorable of our entire vacation. Our guide, Muhammed, made every effort to ensure that our tour was interesting, and insightful. He patiently led us through the Nasrid Palaces, and the Generalife, at a comfortable pace. He explained the history of the Alhambra at every turn, which gave us a real appreciation of it’s wonders. Muhammed brought us to a remarkable restaurant for lunch, The food was outstanding and gave us a real taste of Spanish cuisine. The views from our table overlooked the entire city of Granada. The setting was unforgettable. On our return drive to Malaga, instead of choosing the same route we took from Malaga, which highlighted vast olive orchards, Mohammed took a different route. On the return trip, he gave us views of both the mountains, and the southern coast. So, our rides, both coming and going, were very scenic. Muhammed is a charming individual, who clearly loves his work. He is the person you would want, to guide you on a tour of such historic significance, as the Alhambra.

We booked this Alhambra tour on 1.5 months before our trip because we wanted a convenient, stress-free experience. At the time of booking, official Alhambra tickets on the day of tour were still widely available, so we were not relying on Apartrip Travel's tour because tickets were sold out — to us, we paid a premium specifically for convenience, transport, and peace of mind. Unfortunately, this became the most frustrating parts of our Spain trip. Apartrip Travels confirmed our booking immediately without securing the Alhambra tickets. If they were unable to guarantee tickets, they should not have confirmed the booking in the first place, ESPECIALLY WHILE TICKETS WERE STILL AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. Because we trusted their confirmation, we did not buy tickets ourselves and lost the opportunity entirely. What made the experience worse was the complete lack of proactive communication. We heard NOTHING from the operator for after booking and only responded on TWO DAYS before the tour after we reached out ourselves because we were getting worried about whether the tickets had actually been secured. Yes, their T&Cs mention that guaranteed tickets apply for bookings made 2+ months in advance. But that disclaimer does not excuse poor operational handling. If tickets were uncertain, the responsible thing would have been: • not confirming the booking immediately, or • give warning clearly and early so customers could make alternative arrangements. Instead, we were left in uncertainty after flying halfway across the world specifically to visit the Alhambra. We also came across another review from a customer who experienced something very similar, and what shocked us even more was how defensive and rude the operator’s public response was instead of showing accountability or empathy. This experience completely defeated the purpose of booking a premium guided tour service. If you are planning an important once-in-a-lifetime visit to the Alhambra, do not rely on Apartrip Travels.

Very confusing instructions once the trip was booked. Had to telephone to clarify pick up location and then also found that I had to submit passport name and number and bring passport on the tour. Nine of that was clear. I wrote an email that went unanswered for days. Finally asked hotel reception to call for me and got things clarified. From that point on the experience was fantastic. Great driver. Fantastic guide at the Alhambra. The best.

Alhambra is unique and beautiful. Guide was terrific, engaging, informative, very personable. Would tour with him anytime. The ride, while 90 minutes each way, was well worth it. And lunch overlooking Granada was very good. Take this trip

The tour was a terrific experience from the timely pick up in Torremolinas to the private tour of the Alhambra. Our guide Isobel was knowledgeable and very friendly and helped to expedite the entire experience.

We cannot express our gratitude enough for the thoroughly enjoyable experience provided by our driver, Manuel, and our tour guide, Isabell. We saw the Alhambra's four palaces and immense Generalife gardens - all breathtakingly beautiful, all seen without rush. Isabell's knowledge of the Alhambra complex and the area's history was quite in depth. We recommend this as a MUST DO experience.

The weather was not rhe best early januar with a lot of rain and cold but on the other hand we had the guide to our selves and there was not that many people as it would be in the high season. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable and the driver most kind. All in all a top experience!!🥰🥰

Wonderful so glad we booked and our driver was very nice too. Abu Bakr was our guide and just so full of information and facts. Truly would not have seen all the amazing history without him.

Four of us had a very good visit to Alhambra on our cruise day in Malaga. Eduardo our driver communicated the evening before to with pick-up details and he was right on time. He drove us to the Alhambra visitors center where we met up with our guide Mohammed. He is very knowledgeable and led us on an interesting tour of the gardens, Generalife, and the palace. We skipped every line and Mohammed was attuned to when we needed to sit or take photos or ask questions. Both Eduardo and Mohammed were considerate of our friend who doesn’t walk as well. The ride to and from Granada was scenic and very pleasant. Eduardo got us back to the ship exactly when he said he would, so there were no worries about missing all-aboard time. Highly recommend!

Had an excellent tour with Jose as our driver and Isabella as our tour guide. Both were very knowledgeable and made the trip a good one. Alhambra is not to be missed, the architecture, decorations and grounds are gorgeous. Would recommend this tour to everyone.

Fantastic tour, very informative and it really helped that the guide was a Moroccan living in Spain. He could read Arabic and explained many details that I suspect others would not have. Additionally you managed to add 2 people to the group with less than 72 hours.

This was an excellent experience from the time the taxi picked us up at our rental home to the time we were dropped off in the later afternoon. Many thanks to our expert tour guide Abubakr. We felt so fortunate to have a guide who was so incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Alhambra, and was friendly and professional throughout. The palaces and garden were stunning and the history was fascinating. We would highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I were promptly picked up by Pepe at the agreed-upon time, at our Vking cruise port location. Pepe introduced us to Malaga and Granada while we were driven to Alhambra. Once there, we met our personal guide, Hamdy, who guided us to the Palaces’ entry while introducing us to the history of Alhambra. As we were guided throughout these beautiful and ornate grounds, Hamdy shared a wealth of history and information for absolutely everything we saw. Hamdy additionally helped me set up excellent photos plus took several of us at key locations (photo ops!). Be prepared for lots of walking involving cobblestones, steps, inclines. But any challenges you may have are rewarded with a vast number of beautiful sights!! Once the tour was over, Hamdy recommended a restaurant in Granada where Pepe took us to enjoy a delicious lunch outside at a central location (where we also found an ATM to use). Next was the drive back to our ship where we were dropped off within the required time frame, just ahead of sailing to our next location. We highly recommend this tour!!!

Our trip was a seamless experience. We were picked up at our hotel and guided throughout the day. The driver and guide were punctual and were conversant in English. Our tour guide Andy was very knowledgeable and was an art historian. Excellent experience.

Go early morning, we arrived at 0830 am, it was cooler and far less people. Our guide was Mohamed, and, for us, he bought the red palaces history and secrets to life. The twists and turns of the garden, the irrigation system, the summer palace and its beauty. Alhambra was seen through a cultural lens, from understanding the writings in the fretwork, poetry hidden, steps of paradise, and the geometry and meaning of ceramic designs. Secrets we’d have missed… the lion clock that was, stained glass in women’s rooms, the communication chamber, the fountains and stillness, views, the amazing engineering of irrigation, and the surprise of just how many plants growing there, are in our garden… and so much more. Be clear what you’d like to do with your spare time, we headed into Grenada for a mixed platter of Iberian cheeses and meats, and watched the world go by, bought traditional caramelised sweet treats and art…. Of course you may wish to squeeze your own visit to cathedral or something else, or enjoy a luxurious lunch overlooking the City from up high. Just speak to your guide. Whatever you do wear comfortable and footwear, there’s lots of walking… This is just our personal view, we would recommend it… just open your mind to discover a citadel full of history and peace. Definitely worth it. Our driver, Miguel picked us up right at our hotel in Malaga and drove us to the Alhambra where our guide, Isabel, met us. Isabel was very knowledgeable about the Alhambra and the area. She was patient with us while taking pictures and took pictures of us. It was wonderful, not to have to worry about staying with a large group when there are so many people there. We had a fantastic lunch on the terrace at the hotel in Grenada (at own expense) which had fantastic views of the city. Then Miguel drove us back to our hotel. It was a truly wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic tour with Antonio. He took us Al Hambra/Nasrid Palace tour and was extremely patient and knowledgeable. His pace was perfect for our family members.

The tour was perfect. Great pairing of historic facts with a gentle pace allowing time to take in all the amazing visuals. In addition, the chosen lunch spot was excellent. I highly recommend this tour for first time visitors as well as anyone wishing to go on a repeat visit and learn more historic facts.

One of the best tours we have ever been on. Lara was a great tour guide. Very informative and she really made it fun. As good as Lara was , Nikolai was completely off the chains. By far, the greatest tour driver in all of our travels. He try made it an amazing experience. If you are lucky enough to have him as your driver, he will make it a memorable experience!!!

Our guide was extremely well informed! The Alhambra grounds were filled with large number of adults on tours, and students on fields trips while we were there; our guide was very adept at maneuvering us through and around the crowds. She was able to point out many things to our small group (of 4 people) that just would not have been possible if we had taken a tour consisting of a large number of people. She also coordinated well with our transportation team, ensuring that we were able to return to our cruise ship (and hour and 30 minutes away from Alhambra) in time for its departure to the next port. Highly Recommended!

This worked out really well! Vanessa, our guide in Alhambra, was fantastic, and the palaces and gardens were so beautiful and interesting to learn about. Transportation from Malaga to Alhambra and a short lunch before the tour also went smoothly.

The drive from Malaga was easy. But the thing that made the tour special was our guide, Lara. She was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the place and how it evolved over time. The palace is magnificent but the experience was truly the best.

Excellent tour! We were picked up on time from our hotel in Malaga, the tour guide fine-tuned according to our needs and wishes, and we had an amazing day.

We are a 3 generation group including 2 teens. The tour guide was excellent and kept it interesting for all. Because of his knowledge he was able to explain the symbolism and interpret the Arabic writings. He even noticed that one teen was especially interested in photography and went out of his way to help him get the shots he was looking for. The driver from Malaga was excellent and the van was comfortable. It was an excellent day for our group.

At $200+ pp and great reviews, I had high expectations for this trip. The trip was fine but definitely had room for improvement. Our driver was nice but spoke very little English and the ride to Granada and back did not include any information about the area. The time at Alhambra was nice and our guide was knowledgeable although spoke very quickly. Our driver was late to pick us up and we barely had enough time to get lunch in the city center. I think the tour should include at least 2 hours in the city to allow some time to explore after eating.

Beautiful place, great service! Eduardo ( the driver) and Antonio ( the tour guide) were polite, and knowledgeable. Eduardo is a skillful driver & Antonio clearly had a lot of experience showing the Alhambra sites. The palace and gardens are places you should not miss!!

Brilliant, having the luxury of a guide to ourselves allowed us to get a real insight into the Alhambra. Lara our guide had so much knowledge, from the construction to the decoration to the rulers. Simply amazing. About 3 hours walking but the pace was easy. I would have missed so much without Lara. Her knowledge was phenomenal. Jose our driver was excellent also, very pleasant, water provided on the car, door to door drop off and free time in Granada with a choice of options was great too. We loved it. Jonathan was waiting for us when we disembarked the ship. Pleasant drive in spite of the rain. Jonathan was informative and very pleasant. We learned a lot on our drive up and back. Antonio was a private guide for the day and he was very knowledgeable and wonderful to guide us through. We felt that we had a very comprehensive tour in 2 1/2 hours. Afterwards, Jonathan recommended lunch at the Alhambra Palace hotel. We sat on the veranda overlooking Granada and had a great lunch. Excellent trip.

We had a great driver, Eduardo, who got us to Granada from Malaga safely, and put us in contact with our guide at Alhambra, Abubaker. Abubaker was a fabulous guide, who explained all of the symbols and pointed out interesting places in the Alhambra. Our driver picked us up and took us for free time and lunch in Granada, and then drove us back to Malaga. We are so glad we booked this private tour - it was one of the best we have had.

An experienced and knowledgeable guide for our tour through the Alhambra. As Australians we thought the tour was expensive, but restrictions on numbers per hour and getting to Granada does not give many options for getting into the Alhambra.

I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a private day tour from Malaga to Granada. Eduardo was personable and an excellent driver and accommodated us all day long with stops so that we could experience as much of Granada as possible. He also connected us with our guide at La Alhambra for our 2 hour tour. This guide was Abubaker. He was extraordinary and we enjoyed our afternoon with him immensely. He was so patient and incredibly knowledgeable about everything we looked at. It was easy to ask questions which lead to a great deal of interesting conversations along the tour. There is so much history in this beautiful place. Eduardo and Abubaker left us with an unforgettable experience and memories of Granada.

Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The Alhambra is beautiful but there are so many unique details in the architecture that we would have missed if we simply chose to walk through on our own. We all learned so much about the history of the palace, the gardens and Granada from this tour.

Just as advertised, this tour provides a private and truly memorable experience at the Alhambra. We were picked up at the port for a 2 hour drive to Granada. If you are docked in Malaga be sure you have enough time for this must-see. After some free time to sightsee and have lunch in Granada we were driven to the Alhambra to meet our guide. It certainly was nice to skip the lines. Best of all we got the insights of someone so passionate and knowledgeable. I cannot say enough about the quality of his talks. We had a bit of a scare on our return from Granada when the taxi died. But another picked us up and we were quite relieved to reach the ship in time.

This tour was amazing from the pick up, drive to Grenada, to the tour of the Alhambra with Abu Bakir. You could tell his love of the history of the palace, and he provided such interesting details and significance of the various symbolisms. He was even able to keep the interest of our teens. Our driver, Johanna was extremely professional and also provided us with such interesting details on the drive from Malaga to Grenada. I would absolutely recommend this tour.
