Just had four days here with my wife for her 50th birthday. Whilst we are not regular travellers, we have experienced many hotels around the world and this is the most stunning and beautiful hotel of them all. It’s rated as a five star and I can confirm it offers five star luxury. We had a luxurious Deluxe suite which was impeccable and furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings. Every member of staff we encountered were exceptional, friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The pool and outdoor areas are well kept and maintained. If you haven’t been to Malaga before (like us) I would highly recommend due to its vast array of cultural indulgences, bars and restaurants. It also feels safe and like the hotel, well maintained. Can’t rate this hotel and the staff high enough. Top class all round.

Executive summary: This hotel fails to justify its high price tag and is rapidly declining in overall quality. What did I like about the property? Prime Location: Great central location with only a single main road separating the hotel from the lively beach. Aesthetics & Grounds: Beautiful building with an impressive, stylish entrance and lovely gardens. Main Restaurant: Delicious food served by an excellent, highly professional staff. Reception Staff: Friendly reception desk team (though some can be a bit chatty). What didn't I like about the property? Pool & Amenities: The pool area is dirty and poorly maintained. The poolside furniture is worn, damaged, and covered in bird droppings. Poolside Restaurant: Service here was disastrous—untrained staff who couldn't prepare a simple milkshake, and they even served rotten salad with the Caesar salad. Room & Balcony: Twin beds were not properly set up prior to arrival. The room balcony is far too cramped, barely fitting a single chair and a small table. Fitness Room: A tiny, windowless, uninspiring gym tucked away in the basement. Service & Management: Front desk staff fail to follow up on or address guest complaints.
If you're heading to Malaga and want a slice of luxury, this is the only place to stay. We stayed at Gran Hotel Miramar for 4 days and honestly, everything was perfect from start to finish. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed with a glass of cava, we knew we were in for a special stay. The pool area was fantastic, with plenty of sunbeds and never feeling overcrowded. Having a private section of the beach directly opposite the hotel was a huge bonus, making it so easy to switch between the pool and the sea. The breakfast was outstanding, with a huge selection of delicious, high quality food every morning. The rooftop bar was another highlight, offering incredible views and the perfect setting for evening drinks. Most importantly, every single member of staff was warm, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Their service really made the stay feel five-star. For a couple looking for a relaxing, luxurious short break, we genuinely couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely be back.
Everything was excellent: the facilities, the service, the food, and the overall vibe, but there were a few minor glitches that did affect the stay. We could not get an internet connection in our room. We asked for assistance twice, were ignored the first time, then told later that it was a problem with iPhone compatibility. This is a poor excuse since iPhones are perfectly compatible with all internet providers and make up 30% of all phone users in Spain. Frankly, this was rather an unforgivable faux pas for a five-star hotel. The food was a bit overpriced, too, especially the breakfast at 33 Euros per person, but the quality of what I ate was excellent. The spa was amazing. A bit pricey at 60 Euros PER PERSON PER HOUR!!! especially for Spanish price standards, but it was a very enjoyable environment, super clean, and very well equipped. The staff was very friendly. The location couldn't be beat. I'd come back.
What a beautiful hotel! You arrive through the small park to the impressive entrance, and from that moment on, you are met with friendly service throughout the entire hotel. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, with complimentary coffee and water. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide and varied selection. There is also a wonderful lunch restaurant by the pool area. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight, offering great drinks and stunning views of the sea. This is our second time staying at the hotel, and we will definitely be back!
