Barcelo Malaga Hotel

This is a relatively upscale hotel above the train station and mall. The location is great for train travel. It did take 10 minutes of walking around the mall and asking people where the hotel is to find it - but eventually its easy. The thing is that its not close to the city center - which is about 20 minute walk away. So we did a lot of walking back and forth. The front desk staff were always great. The breakfast staff was not quite as nice, and I did not appreciate a 10 minute to check in to eat. Apparently there are not enough tables, and also the gentlemen checking people in has to personally escort each party to their table, and maybe oversee some clean up. There were also problems with internet wifi, and the YouTube on my room tv never worked over several nights. the lobby felt a little dated and in need of a refresh.

I was visiting Málaga from the USA with my sister, who was visiting from Germany, and my friend. We had a wonderful experience at Barceló Málaga! The food at the restaurant was excellent, and Luis provided outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, spoke fluent English, and made our experience extra special. We also had so much fun going down the hotel’s famous slide! The rooftop bar was another highlight, the drinks were amazing, the view was beautiful, and the atmosphere had such great vibes. We truly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend this hotel!

Good location when coming by train/airport. Small details could be better: - when people talk in the hallway you hear it very well in the rooms - the shower (at least in #429) has a weird button system and wastes an insane (!) amount of water when showering. In a water sensitive region and a hotel that talks about sostainability that shouldnt be - the double bed just has one large cover. So if one person shifts at night the other one gets disturbed too. Why?? Good: - bed are 2m wide and comfortable

This is an excellent hotel with outstanding facilities throughout. The gym is well-equipped and maintained to a high standard. The rooftop terrace is spacious and features a lovely pool. While it isn’t the largest pool, it’s perfect for cooling off and relaxing. The rooms are generously sized, with very comfortable and spotlessly clean beds. A fridge is also provided for guests’ convenience. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, offering a huge variety of options. Highlights include freshly cooked pancakes and made-to-order omelettes prepared to your liking. Most importantly, all of the staff are friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
