My wife and I had a wonderful experience. E-Biking was relatively new to us. We covered a lot of territory in our 4 hour rental. We went up and down hills with no problems. The staff was ready and prepared when we showed up. They gave us good instructions.
Easy to find great introduction and excellent equipment. We totally enjoyed our Rental riding through Acadia.
The bikes were amazing! I was a bit nervous as I'm a smaller 67 yr old gal. I rode the bike without any trouble. Staff was great explaining bike & trails. So fun !! Glad I did it!!
Great trails. Bikes were great. Easy to use. I’d recommend for everyone. Don’t feel bad using the electric bike feature.
This was a very fun experience. The four hours just flew by. It was also nice that they had an employee out on the trails as two of us needed a battery swap. Bigger guys run the battery down faster. What’s nice is that you go at your own pace. If you want to stop then you just stop for as long as you want.
Had an amazing time on our e-bike ride. We did a lot of hiking the first two days of our visit and wrapped it up with a bike ride around Eagle Lake and Jordan Pond. What a relaxing way to experience the carriage roads. Maine State Kayak and E-bike rates were very reasonable.
Seriously…book this company! Just like you, I was worried about the fat tires making it harder to bike the trails. We flew past so many people and it was so much safer having the wider tires. The communication from the company is outstanding. Extremely kind and helpful
Prior to the day of our ride, Maria gave me great info about the bike and assured me I could ride it even though I am 4'11". On the day of the ride, Iz gave me a private lesson on controlling the bike. Then our private guide, Ian, led us thru Acadia and our ride was fabulous. He was great!! The leaves were beautiful. This was the best part of my trip!
Maine State was so organized and provided great equipment for our e-bike rental. Instructions were clear. Staff was so nice. The carriage trails were awesome - zero cars allowed, perfectly safe. The only thing that was little hard to get the handle of was that initially, the fat tire e-bikes take a little getting used to. When leaving bike shop at the start of the trip, there is a little bit of traffic, so get used to your bike in the parking lot. When you leave the shop and head to the park, you go uphill and need to give it some juice to climb. Overall, such a great experience. I am so glad we did this. Thank you!
Awesome experience riding the RAD fat tire e-bikes through Acadia! Great location, super friendly staff that answered all of our questions with a friendly positive attitude. Bikes were easy to use and we rarely used the pedal assist on 4 or 5 even on the steepest hills on the carriage roads. Wife and I wanted another hour or two to explore some other paths but we had other stuff to do in Acadia that day. Highly recommend this company!!!
The staff was friendly and really set us up with the right equipment for a safe and comfortable ride. They supplied easy to follow maps to gorgeous off-road trails. This was a fantastic experience!

We rented bikes in town and took them to Acadia Park from there. The route to Acadia was very well defined from the business to Acadia park and rode along the carriage path. The staff was very inviting and showed a few videos of how to ride the bikes and how to navigate the signs through the park. Saved us a lot of money renting from them versus inside the park. I would highly recommend them!
Excellent way to see Acadia park! We had a blast with the e-bikes…you can put as much or little effort into the ride as you want, and cover a lot of ground quickly if needed. Love the extra handling with the bigger tires. Highly recommend this experience.
My husband and I loved riding e-bikes on the carriage roads. It was a great way to see more of the park. Rent from Maine State! The staff was friendly, helpful and easy going. They loan backpacks if you don’t have one in addition to renting helmets. 4 hours was the perfect amount of time. Highly recommend!
Staff was friendly and helped make sure the bikes were set up for our individual needs - height of seat, etc. We were a little late returning the bikes due to our own inattention to the time. They were easy going and did not make it an ordeal. Would definitely go again. E-bike is a great way to see Acadia and get familiar with the park.
Maine State was phenomenal! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The bikes were perfect and in perfect shape. We did the 4 hour rental and went a little over 20 miles on the carriage roads. I was nervous bc I'm older and terribly out of shape. Not to fear, the ebikes allowed me to ride without tiring and the fat tires made for a comfortable ride. If you're not used to riding, spend the $5 and rest a seat cushion/cover. Your butt will thank you.
Had an absolutely incredible time, the ride and views were amazing. We did the tri-lake trail plus Day Mtn summit. The e-bikes made it accessible to anyone difficult wise. Piper and Maria set us up and gave us some great recommendations as well. Definitely recommend adding this as part of your trip!!
Bikes were in great condition and directions to the park were thoroughly explained. Acadia in the fall was beautiful. Great experience that we would do again.
Bike was too heavy for my wife and hard to control....too long a ride dealing with traffic.....almost run over by a car when bike flipped
This was the highlight of our trip. Had no idea how much fun e-bikes would be. This company made it so easy to reserve and check out the bikes. The carriage roads were ideal for biking.
The e-bikes were good and the carriage roads in Acadia are great. Unfortunately we had a dead battery during the ride. The folks at the bike shop were helpful and sent someone out with a new battery but still the last hour of the ride was tough without power.
Wow, great! Super easy to book on trip advisor at a great price. Very helpful team at the shop. Easy entrance to park. I didn’t take the $5 gel seat, towards the end of my 4 hours I wish I had. We haven’t ridden bikes in years and never ridden e-bikes. Don’t be worried. You can and should do it to see parts of the park you won’t see otherwise!
This was an absolutely great experience and highly recommend! It’s really a great way to see large sections of Acadia and get to different areas. In retrospect, I almost wish we did this for two consecutive days. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly (thanks Ian) and the bikes were in great shape.
The bikes were in great condition. Both of ours had full battery. Service was easy and efficient. The bikes were super easy to ride and made the long trails very enjoyable. Absolutely loved it!
The staff was wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The bikes are great. I hadn't been on a bike in who know how long but felt reassured by Maria (?) who helped check us and and provided us maps/info re: the trails. The bikes worked great and were a lot of fun to drive. would recommend this company and rent from them again.
So much fun! My husband and I haven’t been on bikes since we were teenagers. We’re hikers but wanted to try something a little different and see more of Acadia National Park. We are so happy that we booked this. We rode about 20 miles and had so much fun doing it. Easy on the knees (haha) A little tricky getting back to the starting point because it’s in town, not in the park. We were a couple minutes late but the crew were very nice and friendly. They explained everything in the beginning and we felt pretty comfortable and confident about using the bikes. I chose this company because of their reputation and reviews and we were not disappointed. This is a great way to a lot of the park in a short time frame. Good job everyone!

Great bikes with fat tires. Other rentals did not have the big tires and bikers commented on our bikes. We appreciated the maps and directions to the carriage paths. We rode about 22 miles in 2.5 hours. Beautiful park!

Great fun riding the carriage trails on e-bikes! First time riding these types of bikes. Allowed us to make great time and see much more of trails because of the pedal assist. Bikes were newer and they provided helmets, small back packs, water and padded seats on request. Very organized operation.
This was a great experience we start to finish. 4 hours was plenty of time for riding, taking pictures, and enjoying popovers and Prosecco. The group was very well organized for getting you out the door to enjoy yourself. Zack & Andre were fun to chat with upon our return. This was definitely a fun way to experience Acadia and the fat tires were fun. We would definitely repeat this trip!

So much fun! Never rode a e-bike before and never rode a fat tire bike before - even though I cycle on a road bike a good deal. It was a blast and a perfect way to finish our stay in Bar Harbor and Acadia! The folks at Maine State were great!!
This was a spontaneous activity for me. I did not have a reservation. But I knew the company from last year so I walked in and was delighted to have someone help me immediately. I was on a bike and on my way through Acadia within 15 minutes. Ben was the staff member who helped me and was helpful, efficient, and encouraging. Very knowledgeable. It was a seamless easy experience.

Top quality E-Bikes and friendly service. We rode for four hours from bar harbor to the south shore and back. Absolutely a blast and so worth it to see Acadia this way.

Great company to work with and the Fat Tire e-bikes are definitely the way to go! Everyone was extremely helpful and the check-in and orientation went like clockwork and everyone go out within a few minutes after the orientation. Piper and Michelle were wonderful both at checkout and checking! Highly recommend!
We had so much fun!! Rode 4 hours all throughout Acadia on the carriage roads. The bikes are great, we had enough battery and it was a fun way to see it all within the time frame we had. Felt like a kid again!!
My husband and I had never used e-bikes before so we were a bit apprehensive. It took a couple of minutes to get used to the bikes but after that it was a lot of fun. The carriage roads in Acadia are super hilly so it gives you a great way to see a huge area.
We had a wonderful time renting the E bikes. The front desk colleague was helpful and friendly and definitely made us feel comfortable. The next bike colleague explained how the bikes function and was very helpful in sending us off. Definitely recommend Maine State Kyak and E bike!
We had such a great time. It was super quick to check in with no advanced reservation. They gave us great options of where to bike in Acadia. We had a wonderful time, would definitely go back.
