I would 100% recommend! Lisa has done her research! We had visited several of the places she mentioned. It was so fun, even in the rain.

Itinerary
Stroll along America’s longest wooden footbridge and enjoy spectacular harbor views. Why is Boothbay Harbor so haunted? We’ll discuss some of the theories about the Boothbay region being considered a thin place, starting with the Burnt Island Lighthouse at the harbor’s entrance with its long history of lighthouse keepers—some who never really left the island.
On a cold December afternoon, a mysterious stranger dressed all in black checked into the Hotel Fullerton and headed out for a glimpse of ocean surf. Her identity and untimely end are still unsolved mysteries almost 100 years after her body was retrieved from the ocean and buried in an unmarked grave on Southport Island.
First stop on Ghost Row...this is one haunted street! Beginning with Minnie’s ghost at Captain Sawyer’s Inn and Kaler’s disembodied torso and dancing girl, we’ll start our exploration of spirited Commercial Street!
We continue our tour of spirited Commercial Street with stories about Mr. Duffy at the Admiral’s Quarters Inn who only wants a little peace and quiet to the former (and some say, current) captain of the tugboat Maine who is still seen as its helm today.
Tour owner has a personal connection with Ghost Row—her vacation rental is haunted by a couple in the basement. There’s also a portal in the attic sleeping loft closet…Call me, My Ghost Story!
Here Be Monsters. We’ll discuss some classic seafarer superstitions and Boothbay Harbor Sea Serpent sightings, accounts of unknown creatures sighted by hundreds of respectable people up and down the Maine and Massachusetts coastline and known collectively as The Great New England Sea Serpent.
What do Queen Elizabeth I, a ring, and Outer Heron Island have in common? Would you believe the claim on the $1 billion dollar dukedom? This legendary island boats a bunch of ghost, buried treasure, and the lost grave of an English nobleman.
One of the early pillars of this community was brutally murdered at home after an act of kindness. His home was run as the Kenniston Hill Inn for many years and notoriously haunted as featured on an episode of A&E’s My Ghost Story.

Lisa really knows her stuff, mainly because she did the research! Great lady, super personality!
Very fun localized experience in Boothbay Harbor. Good knowledge and insight. Worth every penny. It was dumping rain and Lisa was flexible so we just hung out at the brewery and heard stories instead of getting soaked.
It was an amazing tour Lisa was so knowledgeable and friendly we loved her. The tour was so so interesting
The guided tour for Boos and Brews was amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. The size of the group was small which made the tour more intimate. We had great weather which only enhanced the tour. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and different to do.
I had such an amazing time. I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. I thought it would be accessible but it is an older city so it’s not but Lisa was very accommodating. It was just the start of the season and it was only my friend and I,we were able to do things a bit differently! Lisa is very knowledgeable. There are some scary stories and definitely spirits in Boothbay!
We went on the Boo and Brew tour in Boothbay Harbor Maine. Lisa was our guide and was excellent! We never knew how haunted Boothbay is! Lisa took us all around the town, showing a variety of businesses and houses that have quite a bit of paranormal activity going on. It was so interesting. Our tour ended at the Footbridge Brewery in Boothbay. There are a lot of different tours available. We would definitely go on another one when we return to Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
A must do in a beautiful coastal town. In Boothbay Harbor Maine, you will find a treasure trove of local history and interesting stories. Lisa took us on a tour and was so passionate about her community and knew all the local businesses. You can tell she loves a great story which made the experience a ton of fun
What a great tour! Not everyone is a good story teller but on this tour you will witness a great one! Lisa enthusiastically shares wonderful tales of the supernatural and combines that with an awesome brewery experience - it’s the perfect vacation activity. I really enjoyed this!!! Arrive a bit early and be ready to hear some haunting ghost stories that may keep you up at night as you stay in beautiful Boothbay Harbor.
Had such an amazing time on this tour!! It’s an amazing opportunity to learn more about Boothbay and Maines rich history while also laughing and having a great time with your family!! Lisa was one of the most hilarious and intelligent people I’ve ever crossed paths with I would highly recommend🙌🏻
Lisa was such a sweet and fun tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The tour was so fun and interesting and during spooky season made it even better! Would highly recommend this tour or any others by Lisa!
Boothbay Harbor is a favorite destination of ours. The walking ghost tour was a fun way to learn some history of the area. Lisa, our tour guide, was animated and the stories were interesting. It was a nice walk around town. It would be an added bonus if the tour participants were able to actually enter one of the haunted establishments on the guided tour.
We had the absolute best time! Lisa, our guide, was personable and really excited and enthusiastic about the haunted history. We will definitely be back to do another tour next time in Maine!! Highly recommend!!
This tour was fantastic! We had the best time with our guide Lisa! She made sure that all of our questions were answered and that we got a very thorough haunted history of Boothbay! She also followed up afterwards with information we had asked for about some of the stories she told us, other paranormal stories from Maine, and pictures she took for me and my cousin! The final stop being a speakeasy was by far one of the coolest things we did on our trip! We will definitely be back to take another tour with her on our next trip!!!
Lisa was terrific story teller and so knowledgeable about the overall history of booth bay as well as all the cool places to visit especially a wonderful speakeasy at the end of the tour. I highly recommend it.
Lisa is a history buff with a gift for story telling. Great walking tour full of lore and mystery! A nice way to move around the city and end up with a delightful drink!
We were captivated. Highly recommend. Lisa, our tour guide, was incredibly well versed both in historical wisdom and 1st hand interviews with locals on the eerie events and spooky happenings.
We were expecting a little more. Some of the stories were interesting, but there was nothing spine chilling as it was advertised. It would’ve been a lot more fun and interesting if we were able to actually go into the buildings. Personally, I would not recommend this to others because I found it a waste of $30.
Lisa was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the town and the buildings. She also has relationships with people who have experienced many of these hauntings first hand, really making the tales and lore feel tangible and real. She is obviously passionate about both ghost hunting and Boothbay Harbor. We enjoyed talking with her very much and were sorry to see the tour end.
I love the storytelling part of Mysterious Harbor Tours! Lisa Matthews, owner and guide, recreates local and other spooky and paranormal happenings in an entertaining and compelling way. Her fact-finding and research into local, regional, and state-wide is obvious when she is telling the stories. She brings the stories to life using local coverage and accounts of mysterious happenings based on first and second-hand experiences. She also clearly loves the area and wants visitors to enjoy it, too. She is ready to answer questions and suggest local opportunities along the route of each interesting tour. I’m looking forward to hearing more stories with Mysterious Harbor Tours!
Lisa was a great tour guide and had genuinely spooky stories to tell, drawing on both historical and personal source material. She kept an eye on the weather and helped us reschedule to avoid a thunderstorm, which we appreciated especially because some ghost tours go rain or shine (looking at you, Salem). This is a great way to get to know Boothbay Harbor, and you can't go wrong with either featured watering hole (Footbridge Brewing or Neat). Highly recommend!
The Boos and Brews tour was great! We enjoyed hearing all the local stories while we walked around the beautiful harbor town.
